Chapter: 11

St. Xocolatl's Day

"KYAAAA!" The same excitement wasn't said with much more enthusiasm inside the dorm, especially upstairs in Aura's room. She woke up that morning to the sounds of screaming. Instead of investigating, she covered her head with a pillow and ignored it. But she could still hear the yelling of voices outside. Aura clutched at the blanket while simultaneously shooting up from the bed. She threw the covers off at last and groggily made her way to the bedroom window, pulling the curtains wide open. Kami only knew what would happen if she dared to open it.

Aura stepped out into the hall and stomped down the stairs.

"What the hell is going on?!" She yelled startling everyone in front of her.

"It's St. Xocolatl's Day. That's all." Akatsuki explained for Aura, who was still in her pajamas.

Takuma came down the stairs. "You got anything special planed for Xocolatl's Day, a special someone in mind?"

Aura was extremely confused but desperate to get rid of him "Of course not!" she waited till curiosity got the best of her before she began to poke Takuma.

"Err, Takuma. What is this Xocolatl's Day?"

But Aidou answered before him "It's a romantic holiday, you express your love and devotion for your special someone with cards, presents, chocolates and other romantic gestures." He said joyfully.

Aura let out another groan, this holiday was so stupid.

"This is going to be a pain..." Shiki frowned.

"It gets worse every year." Rima sighed depressingly.

Aura still looked confused and a cute pout joined her features. "If you get free stuff, then why is it bad? You get gifts every day, why is this different?"

"It's because the day class is more excited and unpredictable on these certain days of the year, especially Xocolatl's Day." Akatsuki explained.

She peered through the crack between the curtains while scanning over the crowd outside beyond the gates. "Maybe if we just stay here then they'll eventually go away?" Aura suggested.

"It won't work." Ruka told her.

"Ruka's right. If we don't go there will be a riot." Takuma said. When Takuma turned again to face her, his eyes widened and Aura heard his breath catch in his throat.

"What is it?" she asked surprised.

"What are you wearing?" Takuma blushed.

Aura looked down at the silk pajamas and blushed again. Embarrassment flooded through her as she realized that her clothes were not her uniform. What was she thinking? She was still in her pajamas, and it was quite interesting to see what she wore to bed. Aura was in pajama shorts and a overlarge T-shirt; however not just Takuma was starring. Correction; everyone had been staring at her.

Silence once more, and in the dark the water of Aidou's eyes shine, while the rest remains black and soulless, unmoving, unfeeling. Until a burst of laughter parts his lips, and she knows this laugh, this is the laugh she hates the most. The one that makes her want to kill him.

He pants trying to breath between his laughs. Spit out his drink of red liquid from his smiling mouth, unable to contain himself. The very idea of her in her pajamas, he just couldn't even imagine. It was such a funny thing he didn't know why he hadn't noticed it first. It was just so funny, so very, very funny.

And she stood there waiting until it ended, and when he noticed she had not left he stopped. "Too serious." He said with disappointment. "Why don't you develop a sense of humor?" He laughs a little.

"Why don't you develop a brain?" Aura shot back.

"Okay, okay, it isn't funny anymore. All right now it is funny again!" He laughed and laughed and laughed, and she snapped.

"ARGH!" Aura furiously pounced on him onto the couch and began attempted to strangle him. "DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MUCH OF AN ASSHOLE YOU ARE?"

"I…don't…care…" Aidou began to pull her hair. "Get off Kaibara!"

They were too busy killing each other to notice that the door had slid open and their leader had walked in.

Kaname looked at them in complete silence. "What are you doing?"

"Huh?" They both looked up. "We're killing each other." They said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"Oh…" Kaname looked away. "Nevermind. Since you were in a misunderstanding position I thought that…"

"KANAME!" Aura spluttered. "I'M NOT…we're not…!"

"Are you sure?" Kaname asked. He received the 'glare', and took zero damage. Then another thought struck him and he frowned darkly. "I hope you aren't intending to go out of the dorm in that," he said, scowling.

Aura turned and looked at him, flushing. "N-no, of course not," she said, before turning back to what she was doing, she rolled off of Aidou. "I'll go and get some clothes on," she told him.

Nodding, she slipped past him and darted back to her room.

Feeling thoroughly mortified, she cautiously set herself to the task at hand of changing quickly out of her pajamas. It was awful because they had caught her in her pajamas, and she couldn't imagine what they were thinking.

"Do I even want to know what happened?" Kaname questioned.

Everyone shared a glance, and then shrugged, resigned. It appeared that this was the fate of their little group. Aura and Aidou seemed to be born crazed maniacs, and the rest of them were just normal maniacs. Still, this was how their group worked and they found that it suited them just fine.

"I have to prepare a gift for Zero," she muttered as she continued towards her room. Unexpectedly, Aura didn't know what to give him. She didn't have time to buy chocolates, she couldn't bake, and besides he didn't seem like the type of guy who really liked sweets.

Aura crawled under her bed searchingly while making her once clean room a piled up mess, again. "This is perfect," Aura smiled. Excellent. She ran down the stairs, and in no time at all, all of them were heading towards the Academy and the day class.

"KYAAA! Look they're here!" Screams squeals and yells from day class filled outside the moon dorm as their favorite night student arrived. Most of the shouts, banners and kisses were dedicated to the night classes blond-haired Prince Charming, Aidou Hanabusa. They looked at them as if they were famous people that weren't allowed to be touched. And who could blame them? The night class was gorgeous-looking high achievers. Any human that laid their eyes on them were immediately enchanted by their chilling beauty.

"Aidol-sempai! Akatsuki-sempai!" a swarm of hysterical fan girls flooded the gates of the moon dorm.

"…It's the time of the year again." Akatsuki groaned. "I hate Xocolatl's Day."

"Who does?" Ruka rolled her eyes. "It's so stupid."

"They do." Akatsuki pointed out. Outside, squeals of 'I love you!" Marry me!" and even some X-rated stuff were heard.

"They had all year to come here and give us chocolates…Why do they insist on coming today?" Ruka asked.

"…It's probably a human thing." Akatsuki ran his hand through his hair.

"I'm not so sure about this." Aura murmured as she was feeling a little uneasy.

"Don't be bothered by them" She heard Takuma's voice. "They are harmless. Yes, they have human flesh but they are just gentle creatures. I hope you like Chocolate."

Aura couldn't seem to disagree with that first statement as she watched in horror as day class girls fought amongst each other. She turned back to Takuma and smiled in a nervous smile. She desperately wanted to have it over with, to have it finished. Aura cringed when the double gated doors finally opened to their doom. The screams were only louder than ever before than any other day that Aura had no choice but to clamp her hands over her ears in pain.

Yuki appeared out of nowhere and blew her whistle extra loudly. "Hold it! Don't start yet!" Yuki instructed the day class. Turning around she suddenly became dead serious as she faced the night class behind her. "Night class, please stand by your gates and accept the chocolates given to you. Remember this is not a game! The day class students are serious!" Yuki told them strictly.

You could feel a buzz starting to fire up into the air whenever you walked down the walkway. Xocolatl's Day was a very important holiday to the humans that there was no choice to celebrate the occasion; and as Aidou Hanabusa was such a romantic, he'd much rather drink their blood than eat their chocolate.

"I'm going to accept chocolates from each and every one," Aidou explained, "Because then my faithful fans and everyone can feel loved."

"Which translates to: "I want to suck up as much blood as possible before the night is over." Aura muttered and the night students held back a chuckle. Aidou then pouted as Kaname reminded them to be on their best behavior.

"Let's begin. Ready...GO!" Yuki blew her whistle and it began.

The day class was murderous. Everyone was trying to give their chocolates to the one they admired as quickly as possible before the day class curfew, and it was first come first served. And they all knew that most of them wanted most of the night class members served to them on a silver platter. But they all knew that wasn't going to happen, so anyone who got within five feet of the night class with the intent to ask one of them out was immediately going to get shot down by Prefects.

The night class accepted their gifts kindly. So far, no less than eight students had came up to them asking for Aidou or Akatsuki, (apparently, they weren't picky) to accept their chocolate. They usually broke down and starting crying after they were rejected. Apparently there was a bet between the two about who could receive the most chocolate than the other.

Aura laughed, it seemed not only the day class was having fun but the night class as well. But nothing could be said for Ruka though. She always looked depressing as hell. On the inside Ruka was just fuming with jealousy that mere human day class girls got treated better by Kaname then she ever would receive from him.

"I hate this holiday," Ruka grumbled, pale eyes staring out at girls surrounding Kaname with gifts. Then she changed her attention to the cement beneath her feet as she started her walk, her pale hair falling over her face. She unconsciously pushed it back behind ear and blankly stared ahead of her again.

"You don't look happy." Akatsuki commented beside her.

"What about you?" Ruka stared at him. "You should be happy, there giving you chocolate."

"R-Ruka!" A day class boy stammered.

"What is it?!" Ruka snapped. She had whipped around so fast that the young man shrunk back at the loudness of her voice. It was obvious she did not want to be bothered.

"Please accept my feelings for you!" the boy with glasses pleaded.

He held out a bright pink present shaped in a heart out to her and Ruka became gloomy and looked rather disgusted at the sight.

"There's no need to be mean, Ruka." Aura smiled coming up behind her. "Just accept it and be done with it."

"Aura!" Came loud, anxious voices and screams from the crowded humans. It was her turn, she knew it.

Aura sighed. "Not again."

"Hmph, you're one to talk." Ruka shot back.

A horde of boys swarmed around her. She had been getting a lot more fan boys lately. Aura sighed. Would this happen every day when she would go to the academy, which just happened to be a yard away, and would come back to the dorm to a few of them on her doorstep? How they figured they liked her she didn't know, and frankly, she didn't think she wanted to know.

"Are you feeling alright today, Aura?"

"Yes, I feel fine. Thank you for asking." She accepted one present after the next since they wouldn't stop yelling "TAKE MINE!" Another one?! Kami-sama, this is ridiculous! By now Aura's hands were almost full. One day class boy in particular confronted her with a rather big gift. Bigger than the others. It was a large box of chocolate. She could tell that he put a lot of effort into it by running her fingers over the crinkled wrapping paper. It had taken him multiple times for him to wrap it just right that it must have taken many hours to prepare it. Aura smiled, "Thank you," she said with a smile. It even had a small card with her initials carved into them.

"P-Please accept my love although I know that you may not like me but at least please think about my love!" The day class boy struggled to force out and express his feelings.

This guy was hopelessly in love with her, but it was sweet no less. Suddenly she got an idea.

"What is your name?" Aura asked.

"S-Sunako." He stuttered.

Aura smiled. "Arigato Sunako, I really do like your present," she said. Before the day class boy knew it, she had stepped so close that he could feel her breath on his face, and kissed him on the cheek. She stood back, and watched as the day class boy started blushing as red as a tomato. The day class students, probably for the first time in their lives were struck speechless. Even the night class couldn't hold back their surprised gasps. Aura wasn't exactly sure if that was allowed but she was just happy to make someone's day special even if it was unrequited love.

The sound of Yuki's whistle alerted Aura's attention, meaning that someone had broken the rules. "Please only accept chocolates and their feelings!" Yuki continued to scowl in the distance. Aura sighed and shook her head at the obnoxious blond vampire. She wasn't surprised that Aidou had gotten himself in trouble again and this time he was going around asking each girl what her blood type was.

Aura marched up to Aidou and grabbed his ear like a misbehaving child. "When are you going to get it through your thick head that you can't say stuff like that to them?" Aura told him angrily. She then looked back at Yuki apologetically. "Don't worry Yuki. Let me deal with this idiot." Aura said sweetly while pulling him with her by the base of his ear. "Ouch! Ouch! Let go!" Aidou winced painfully.

When her eyes landed on the silvery white haired vampire, Aura immediately let go of Aidou's ear and walked over to Zero. He seemed to notice her stare. "What?" he asked defensively.

"Um…" she began, fidgeting slightly in nervousness as she played with her skirt with one hand. "This is for you," she told him, holding the gift bag out with both hand. Her nervousness was carefully concealed, a skill she had learned and almost mastered. "If you don't like it, I understand," she hedged, trying to backtrack and leave to stop bothering him and possibly fall in a hole and die.

For a moment, Zero just stared. One of the night class students giving a gift instead of receiving one was unheard of. He hoped she wasn't expecting him to give her anything because he didn't. What if she started to mentally categorize herself into the throngs of screaming girls, those annoying bitches who waited outside the dorm, and stalked him wherever he went like they have nothing to do? He just stood there, staring at her. But Yuki smiled and quickly jabbed him with an elbow in his side. Then, just as quickly, it was gone, "…Thanks." he said looking away uninterested.

Aura smiled, pleased. "I'm glad you don't find them annoying," she said in her clear, sweet voice.

Unknown to them everyone was watching them with curious eyes. Day class girls swarmed Kaname like a moth attracted to light. "Please accept this!" Kaname was thanking them profusely for offering him gifts to show their affection. Yuki stood by and was trying to hold back the day class, and Kaname simply smiled and walked past her.

Zero was waiting anxiously for her to give him the chocolates, before he did it for her. She could have just taken the initiative, but she was turning out to be somewhat a coward when it came to Kaname-sempai. "I missed my chance…" Yuki thought disappointingly. Her hand reached into her pocket and clutched whatever that was inside instinctively.

Just at that moment… "Kyaaaa! Aidol-sempai!" A horde of girls swarmed around the four boys, nudging Yuki away rudely. She was knocked back into the crowed, and Aura gasped. "Yuki, are you all right?" she asked, concerned for her friend. Yuki just shrugged. "Yeah, I'm fine."

She was holding in her pocket a small box of chocolate, wrapped in green paper and decorated with a pretty yellow ribbon until it had fallen out during the fall. Zero caught sight of it and was about to give it to her, but the slightest blush on her cheeks on her cheeks for the pureblood aggravated him.

"Kuran." Zero stopped him.

The flying chocolate had alerted them and before she knew it, the pureblood had caught it. "I'll accept it. Thank you, Yuki." Kaname said as he walked away.

"Oh, you're welcome!" Yuki smiled.

Aura frowned confusingly at Yuki who was bickering with Zero at the moment. What the hell was that all about? And what was the stuff Yuki had on the ground? I could have sworn I saw gift there. And Kaname… She shuddered at the horrible thought of those two being together. There were only three things in her life that she hated with an undying passion, Kaname, assholes, and purebloods. If she didn't know any better she'd swear that Yuki had a crush on Kaname. She wanted to ask but she wouldn't risk upsetting Yuki like that.

"I can't believe you did that, Zero!" Yuki insisted with authority. She noticed Aura give her a questionable smile but when she said nothing, Yuki asked, "What?"

She shook her head, giving Yuki another smile, "Nothing…" Aura was grinning because of course she knew exactly what was going on.

"Well, I have to go now. Happy St. Xocolatl's Day!" Takuma waved at everyone. The day class whined. "You're leaving already?" And one started to cry because they didn't want them to go. Then they all started to cry together. It was embarrassing to say the least, but at least she and the others didn't have to worry about an outrage to breakout if the holiday were to be canceled. Aura felt bad that she had to lie to them about she caught the flue and was so sick that Kaname had forbid her to leave the dorm.

"Aura, will you hold my hand?" Takuma smiled as he promptly grabbed Aura by her hand and walked with her side by side.

"T-Takuma!" Aura blushed. Her heart was beating rapidly.

They walked in silence the rest of the way to the Academy. When they got there Takuma let go of her hand. The last thing she needed was to give that Aidou something to tease her about.

In class Kaname walks in, and he seems distracted and a lot different. He has this happy look in his eyes, but he tries to hide it. He looks at the green box of chocolate like there is no one else there. It's like it was the only thing that matters.

Aura just wants to kill him.

He sees Aura, and suddenly looks at her while she glares at him, because she doesn't trust his intentions with Yuki.

A human and vampire together? Aura could just laugh at the thought, but when it was two people she knew it was no laughing matter. Surely Yuki knew what would happen if a pureblood vampire bit a human. They would transform not only into a vampire but into someone like Zero, and that meant they wouldn't live very long to be together forever. It's odd, it was considered unacceptable in the eyes of vampires because the term: 'love' between humans and vampires were impossible.

''You got lots of chocolates too.'' The neat blonde vampires smiles as her and sits down.

Aura was very surprised about how many chocolates she got this year from all the boys. Takuma told her that it was because she had made so many admirers over the last few months. She didn't say anything, only looked at the pile he had set on their shared desk. They gave Takuma what seemed to be at least twenty pounds of chocolate. He hummed a soft pleasant tune as he read each card, and it states that he is ''Berry cute'', but it's one all the same.

The mountains upon mountains of chocolate set before her, and yet she was unable to eat it… Those selfish Aristocrats, she thought evilly as she remembered how they had just dumped their chocolate at the trash. Akatsuki had burned his and as for Ruka she had already thrown her box of chocolates away before anyone could get rid of their own first.

As she sorted through the rest of the cards there were ones that that had managed to creep her out while some were just plain adorable. While she was reading her last card she found one that said 'To Aura-chan, with love from Tohru.'

She opened up the box and her eyes softened. Inside was of variant different chocolates like she had expected, but ten caramel chocolates. And they were still cold, so she knew that whoever gave her this didn't carry them all though school. How thoughtful, Aura smiled.

"Where are Aidou and the others?" Kaname asked as his head shot up as he realized that the room was totally empty. He was most likely too distracted by Yuki's gift to have noticed that the Night Class was gone. Aura rolled her eyes at him.

"Huh? Oh, you're right. There not here." Takuma said as looked around, noticing after the words left his mouth that the classroom was empty. "I wonder where they went?"

Kaname had this look in his eye that he knew.

"Go look for them." He ordered.

Aura glared at Kaname. There he goes again, ordering people around. She murmured something unintelligible against her palm, refusing to move. Fighting a smile, Takuma continued to coax her out of the seat. "Come on Aura, let's go look for them." She mumbled something that sounded like "Screw everyone. What did they ever do for me?" she asked irritably.

Takuma chuckled and Aura had to restrain herself from lunging for him, taking offense at the laughter. Although it was rather adorable to Takuma, it was a different matter as for Kaname he found himself losing patience. She growled at him in annoyance from her sitting position at her desk. "On second thought, Kaibara will remain here." the purblood decided. Knowing full well she would just get herself into trouble again.

Takuma nodded. "I suppose, I'll leave you with Kaname-sama."

After a quick turnaround, she caught what he said and gasped, horrified. "Alone with… him? Hell no." she exclaimed, quickly gathering her belongings in her arms and sprinting to the door. "I'll go." With that, she stalked out of the class room, exiting the room.

The remaining guys lifted their brows and looked at each other. "Is it just me, or is that an extreme reaction even for Aura?" Takuma inquired.

"Takuma, keep an eye on her," Kaname said solemnly. Takuma nodded in agreement.

He shrugged. "Of course," he said, as if there was no question whatsoever of the fact – not that there was. He wasn't going to do something stupid and upset him. If he actually did screw up and didn't keep tabs on her, he was going to be faced with trouble.

Kaname seemed appeased by his answer.

"Commanding bastard," Aura murmured. She looked over her shoulder for the blonde vampire. "Let's go Takuma. Let's find those idiots." Stomping all the way down the hall.

He nodded and walked, leading the way. "Why didn't you want be alone with Kaname-sama?" Takuma asked. Aura knew that he was trying to get information out of her. But she was not in the mood to give it to him.

She assumed that is the reason why Kaname had ordered Takuma not only to 'watch her', but 'befriend her'. To gain any intel about her by lowering her guard to his happy good natured personality. She remembered the times when her tongue had slipped in front of Takuma and she had no doubt he would run off to Kaname with it. She would be careful and be dismissive.

"It doesn't matter." Aura shrugged and continued to walk. She could see Takuma was leading her around endless hallways, he was leading her backwards. Aura wouldn't put it past him that he had known all along about the other vampires reasons for not being in class, but then that would mean he had lied to Kaname and he was leading her around in circles on purpose.

Aura stared at him. She had to be careful what she said to him from now on. He noticed her long stare and smiled back at her, "Is everything alright?" he asked with a gravely worried expression.

Aura attempted a smile that didn't quite form correctly. "Oh it's nothing," she replied dismissively. She was good at dismissing things.

Takuma didn't seem convinced and continued asking unnecessary questions that he was so captivated by his own voice that he hadn't noticed that something is amiss. "Aura?" Takuma asked. One moment she's standing there and then the next she was gone. How could he have let her out of his sight that fast? He still held to the burgeoning hope that he would find her in time before she found the others.

"Ah, Kaname-sama is going to kill me..." Takuma sighed.

0oo00oo0

It was upon midnight and still Aura had found no one, a fierce cold wind was howling through the silent and lonely trees. She had ditched Takuma and left him unnoticed. Guilt resonated within her but Aura was prepared for the consequences this would possibly lead up to. When she reached the outside, she continued walking about the grounds. She heard voices in the distance and Aura looked up in horror to see Zero with his gun drawn, pointed at some of the Night Class students.

Aura stood awkwardly in the doorway outside, her mouth gaping slightly at the sight of what was going on. After a moment, Aura managed to gather up her senses and stormed into the situation to take action. Luckily, she had gotten there just in time, so she didn't have to battle a crowd to get to Zero, where he continued to stand his ground standing near the pond with a little smile on his face.

"What the hell is all this?!" Aura cried and Aidou looked towards her and smiled.

"You?" Aura glared at Aidou. "What are you doing here? Come to watch the show, I hope!" Still smiling but outright ignoring Aura's question.

"Didn't you hear me?" Aura spat and gestured around her. "What's the hell is this?!"

"All of what?" Aidou looked around him and Aura could see Aidou trying not to start swearing.

"Why are you all fighting?" Aura growled and Ruka tilted her head and gave a look.

"Kaibara, don't you think it's a little bit hypocritical that you're siding with him?" Ruka asked.

Aura shot Ruka a look. "Not the point." She hissed. "The point is that my doormates have the nerve to mess with Zero!"

"It's none of your business about what goes on between Zero and us." Ruka asked, her eyes scanning the crowd.

Aura glared at her. "Of course it's my business! He's my friend!" Aura growled.

If looks could kill, Zero would have died a hundred times over.

"Zero Kiryu?" Aidou muttered. "This bastard is your friend? At least you got someone you get along with."

"Why are you even here, Kaibara?" Shiki asked.

"I'm here because Kaname ordered me to, okay?"

"So I suppose you like taking orders from Kaname-sama now, huh?"

"Hell no. I take orders from no one. I'd rather see the bastard dead than be ordered around by him. Still, he did fix my bike, so I do show him gratitude for that." Aura sighed, "But that doesn't matter. You mustn't go around bothering people." Aura said as they stared at her with wide eyes. "Do you realize that you not only had Serin, Takuma and me looking for you, but Kaname as well? You've caused a lot of trouble!" Ruka, Aidou, Shiki, Rima, and Akatsuki all glanced at each other.

"I'm so sorry about this." Aura started to apologies. Aura strode toward Zero carefully. He said nothing but put his gun in her face to silence her and make her stop in her tracks.

He still doesn't trust me... Aura thought.

"Zero..." Aura said struggling to take a breath in.

He wasn't looking at her. He wasn't looking at anything. A look of blank vacancy filled his face and drained her heart. "Don't come near me. I'm in a bad mood." he whispered.

It seemed nothing could get through to the male prefect. Even Akatsuki stepped in to at least try and defuse the situation but that ended soon quickly when Zero sent him flying onto his back.

"Zero!" He looks back at Yuki, mouth open with surprise. "Fighting again? You know that fighting on school grounds is forbidden!" Yuki held her staff defensively.

"As usual she showed up…" Just like Aura had expect the heated tension of a soon to be fight had ended when Yuki had intervened. And that seemed almost to coincidental to Aura. Just like before...is it because of Kaname that they aren't allowed to hurt, yuki? Aura thought.

"Well, we'd better be off now." Aura smiled. "We're very sorry to have disturbed you." All six of them, Aura included, turned and started to walk back down the path to the academy until Zero stopped her.

"I'm sorry…" Zero muttered. "I thought you had been lying to me, when you said you were my friend. I thought you were just like the rest of them." staring intensely at her.

He then bolted, past Yuki, who made no effort to try to stop him.

All eyes were trained on the ground, and until one by one, the night students started to turn back to their places and the feeling of impending doom was started to turn back up again. The night class sensed that they should back off and they did, retaking their seats. Aura sat on top of her desk taking one last sip of red liquid from the blood tablets before looking at Kaname.

Kaname was angry. Everyone could see it, if they looked him in the eye. They were a darker brown then they were before and they only looked like this when he was either focused on something or angry.

"I believe everyone is repentant for what they did." Takuma spoke.

Everyone nodded, except for Aura of course. She smirked happily because this time it wasn't her who gotten in trouble. It was the others instead of her this time.

"What are you smiling about? You're just as guilty as they are because you ran off on Ichijo's watch." His cold eyes looked at her.

The smirk disappeared quickly. Aura glared at the brown haired pureblood that was watching her reaction intently.

Damn it!

Gosh, she had totally forgotten about that. Aura knew she must have looked completely stupid as Kaname told her about that, but the revelation caught her completely unprepared.

As Kaname revealed that she had ran off could only think one coherent thought. That she was now dead and therefore could never be free of Takuma's constant babysitting.

"So. It's over."

At least Aura thought so, but as she looked into Kaname's face she knew he disagreed.

"Takuma." Takuma didn't know what he could have done to make Kaname angry at him, but it saddened him that he was. "You didn't keep an eye on her." he said unhappily.

"Forgive me; I will do better next time." Takuma said keeping his eyes down. That last sentenced earned him a strange look from Aura. He gets in trouble, but it wasn't even his fault! Aura looked at her neat blonde friend with a look of pity. It wasn't her intention for Takuma to get blamed. It wasn't her intention for herself to get involved for that matter.

"Look Kaname, it wasn't his fault." She said quietly as she glared at him. She looked over at Takuma who only smiled.

"You're right. It's yours." Kaname closed his eyes and smiled.

Aura growled.

"Wouldn't you say that Kiryu is quite gutsy to have stood up to Aidou like that though. Something must be troubling him." Takuma smiled, changing the subject.

"He's reaching his limit." Kaname said quietly, casting his eyes out the window. "That incident four years ago changed his life completely."

"That incident four years ago?" Aura repeated what Kaname had said, "What happened four years ago?" she asked.

Kaname merely looked at her and waited before replying, "Four years ago a woman by the name of Shizuka Hio bit Zero, transforming him into a vampire."

Aura's eyes widened, reacting to what Kaname had just said. She remembered clearly asking Zero on the rooftop as to how he had lost his human life, and thinking back on it she had said it so carelessly too. I'm such a horrible person, she thought. It was like a slap in the face for Aura. "But that means..."

"A human bitten by a pureblood vampires turn into vampires themselves. When that happens, there can be only one of two results, their blood becomes toxic and die, or slowly suffering the pain of transforming into a vampire. Other vampires don't possess this dark power that purebloods have. I respect his strength of will, he is only a human after all, yet he still resists the powerful vampire instinct for four years now.

"Four years? That's unheard of!" Aura whispered in disbelief and continued listening.

"But there are those who differ from level D and below. If they don't want to die, they'll have to drink the blood of the Pureblood that bit them. The consequence is that the Pureblood would have complete control over the person and that person would truly become a vampire. Preferably known as level C. Wouldn't you agree Kaibara?" Kaname's dark brown eyes landed on her.

Crash!

The glass slipped through her fingers, spilling its contents on the floor, shattering into a thousand fragments, glittering on the tile of the classroom. Everyone shifted to look at where the sound had came from. They couldn't quite comprehend what had happened.

How did he know?

As Kaname surveyed the damage at the broken glass on the floor, he knew he had struck a nerve. Looking her over, he could see no obvious sign of injury. But she had a horrified expression.

"Aura?"

Aura jumped a little, startled out of her thoughts. "I…I…was…" she could breathe suddenly. Everything hit her suddenly. "I…I dropped a glass…I'll go get something to clean it with!" She blushed slightly.

Kaname looked up eyes narrowing slightly and watched her carefully, like he had been all day.

When Aura walked away, she quickly reached the door, to leave the classroom. She had only gotten as far as the front building. She stopped sit on a bench, where she remained for an hour, ignoring the chill of the wind as it slowly sunk through the marrow of her bones. How did he know? I kept it so well hidden. Aura shook her head. No, it could have been nothing. Sure it was a no brainer she was a C and what it meant. But the way he said it was as if he knew her circumstance behind it all.

The secret is getting more and more harder to hide.

"How long can you keep this up, Aura?" Aura whispered in a hoarse voice.

This chapter took me days to type XD. My hands hurt. I should probably stop complaining and hurry on with the next chapter. And don't worry I will! Just after a day…or two…or three! If I could stop procrastinating!

BTW I haven't done it yet but there are going to be some last minute changes to Chapter 10! Don't worry I'm not changing it, I'm just putting it somewhere else.

I will like it if you all review because I worked hard on this chapter.

~~HAPPY HOLLOWEEN!~~
