Last time in THE MANSION…
"DON'T TOUCH ME!" he screamed. "YOU USED ME! You betrayed me." He rasped and slowly rose to his feet. He stumbled in her direction, and Boris too marched forward. He ran towards Raven, and helped her to rise. The both of them stood, watching as Kai fell flat on his face. It was almost inaudible, showing them how weak and light the boy actually was. The only noise heard was Tala's roars for his friend.
Kai lay on the floor for what seemed to be an eternity, and he struggled to get up. "Urgh..." he moaned and pushed himself off the ground. He hobbled to the wall and gripped around for the switch that he'd flipped earlier. Raven and Boris marched hand in hand towards him, Boris holding a gun to his forehead. They were ready to shoot, and had already cocked the gun.
Like lightning, Kai's hand shot up and he grappled Boris for the gun. They struggled and Kai managed to pull the gun from his captor's hands. Boris stumbled backwards, and Kai pointed the gun to his forehead. "Goodbye bastard," Kai's lips curled at the edges, his smirk somewhat fearful, and he pulled the trigger, BANG, shooting his tormentor execution style.
"AHHH!" Raven screamed and rushed forward. Boris' once malicious eyes dimmed and his body fell forward, the blood pooling around him. She placed his head in her lap and leaned down to gently kiss his lips for the last time. Kai turned his back to her, and flipped the switch. The mechanical hum of the wall rang in his ears as he stared at the blood on his hands. Boris was gone. He was actually dead. Kai started laughing and turned his attention to his friends.
-Rei Point of View-
'Kai…..' Rei thought, silently watching his friend. No one squirmed against the restraints anymore. Rei watched as Raven lay atop the body of Boris, mourning her dead lover, and the darkness that was filling Kai's crimson eyes. He stepped forward slowly, and was swaying with each step. The previous silence was slowly filled with the sound of Tala's gentle muttering in Russian, and the sound of rope snapping. Rei snapped his neck quickly towards the source of noise, and saw that it was Tala who had managed to free himself.
-Tala Point of View-
Tala ran towards Kai, not caring for the ropes pooled around his feet, or his friends still bound by restraints. "KAI!" he screamed, running full force towards the young teen. Reaching his other half, he pulled Kai into his arms, and once again began muttering in Russian. The sound of Tala's rich voice was enough to push him over the edge and Kai began crying silently. His hand was grasping the front of Tala's shirt, and the other Tala's wrist.
'Kai,' Tala thought. This feeling, holding him again, brought warmth to his chest. 'It's finally over, you brave little phoenix.' Shielding the sobbing teen, he placed a kiss on the top of his head. "It's over Kai," he whispered, "You did it." He nodded his head, and stopped crying. Behind them, the other bladers were attempting to free their restraints, and Tala chuckled.
"Go help them," Kai rasped out, now leaning against one of the wooden beams. Tala nodded and tuned his back, approaching their friends. Quickly, Tala began undoing the bindings, and sending each teen up the stairs.
-Raven Point of View-
Still sobbing, Raven raised her head and stared at Kai. She whistled to get his attention. "Hey nephew," she grinned as he turned to look at her, her smile wide like the Cheshire himself. "You're just like him." Raven began to chuckle. Pushing herself off Boris, she began to walk towards Kai, and watched in sheer amusement as the young teen's face was contorting in confusion.
"Like who?" he spat whilst backing up, his hand forming a fist.
"Voltaire," she stated simply, her voice lower than normal. Her angelic laughter began filling the room, and she pulled the confused teen into her icy cold embrace. He stiffened, and she chuckled some more. "Let's go home, non my Babinski?" She posed the question softly, her voice melting to honey. Kai was so numb due to the blood loss and the loss of adrenaline that he didn't notice the knife she had raised high enough to stab him in the back.
Kai blinked his eyes owlishly. Home? What is home? Was this it? Or was it with the Blitzkrieg boys? No, definitely not with them. They are his family yes, but he can't make their lives hell because of his blood. They only understood to an extent, his brothers, they didn't have to face the death penalty for shooting Boris in cold-blood. They didn't have to deal with an escaped grandfather, the convict that started all of this crap. Tears began pooling in his eyes and he slowly started to nod his head within the ice embrace. Finally giving up and accepting his fate.
Raven grinned and plunged the knife directly in his back, and pushed the boy away with excessive force, causing him to fall once again. Kai gasped as he realized what had just happened, and even during the fallen phoenix's most pitiful moment, he glared at her. "Tala," he choked out, spitting up blood. It was becoming colder. Hmmm, much like Russia, like home. Warmth filled his chest and Kai was tempted to close his eyes. Blinking slowly with black spots dancing around, he watched his brother.
Tala ran towards her, his ice blue eyes hardening and darkening. He kicked Raven onto the floor, no longer regarding any prior injuries. She had hurt his family for the last time. He growled, a feral snarl leaving his chest and he lunged, much like a wolf. He landed atop her chest, his feet atop her ribs. A sickening crunch was heard and he crouched down to her face. "The punishment you'll receive is much less than what you deserve," he whispered in her ear and grinned, his fangs glinting in the light.
