Shy kiss:
Andrea's laughing - head tossed back, hand squeezing Sharon's thigh, happy rumble coming all the way from her belly laughter - and Sharon thinks it just might be the most beautiful thing she's ever witnessed.
Her heart skitters as the thought appears in her mind. It's not the first time she's thought something like this - not even close. The thoughts sneak up on the captain. At random moments she's caught herself thinking about the way blue eyes light up when Andrea smiles at her, the way her fingers linger, warm and careful, on Sharon's arms when they're alone.
Sharon's found herself tracing the dip of a lower lip while listening to Andrea speak, sinking into the comfortable warmth that welcomes her when Andrea clings on longer than necessarily as they embrace. She wonders what it would be like to hold on and not let go, wonders if the desires she's noticing more often are ones she needs to put an end to or can embrace because Andrea has them too. She's not used to allowing herself to feel so strongly for someone new, but Andrea makes her think that it might be okay.
"What?" Andrea says, laughter still in her voice. There's amusement coloring her eyes, and it's almost enough to hide the genuine curiosity that's also there.
Sharon feels a bit nervous around Andrea sometimes. Only when they're alone. Only when they're sitting close and she can feel Andrea's body heat and the electric-like currents they share where they touch.
"It's nothing. I enjoy the sound of your laughter."
She tries dismissing it, but Andrea grins, brushes her fingers across Sharon's cheek, and then licks her lips.
She gets a nervous flutter in her belly as she turns into Andrea's hand.
A tickle in her throat when Andrea's thumb brushes her lip, hesitating before tracing.
A mix of a hum and an awkward half-giggle mix in her throat, and she blushes, trying to look away.
Andrea pauses.
Sharon breathes out.
"I want to kiss you."
Four words and Sharon's heart stops.
She looks towards Andrea.
Please, Sharon's eyes say as she leans in.
Only if you know how much this means to me, her shy smile whispers.
Andrea's responds by slowly leaning in.
Their lips connect softly, slowly.
Smooth.
Sharon's eyes close, butterflies flying up from her stomach to her chest.
Tentatively, Sharon brushes her lips across Andrea's lower lip.
Andrea's sigh calms her nerves.
She smiles, kisses her with more of her usual confidence, empowered by the way Andrea seems to melt against her mouth.
Only once she pulls back does the shyness return, her smile slow and careful as she watches Andrea lick her lips and slowly blink her eyes open.
When the blonde looks into her eyes and grins, Sharon changes her earlier opinion. That, the look she's receiving, is the most beautiful thing she's ever seen.
