What the Morphlings Left Part Two-Sonia's House Continued

Bedroom One -Sibling Rivalry

Left wall top half: Cashmere and Gloss Diamante who won the 71st and 72nd Hunger Games respectively. Their family must have felt that the odds were very much in their favor until the Third Quarter Quell when both Gloss and Cashmere were reaped from District 1's pool of victors to compete against one another in the 75th Hunger Games. Both siblings died there; Gloss was killed by Katniss Everdeen and Cashmere fell to Johanna Mason's axe. They died within seconds of one another.

Left wall bottom half: Brandy and Daniel Hanks, District 10. Brandy and Daniel were both reaped in the 62nd Hunger Games. Brandy was 16 and Daniel was 12. Brandy died trying to protect Daniel from the Career pack on the second night of the games. She was speared by the male tribute from District 4 Donnel McMillan. Daniel ran but was caught by the girl from District 2 Dana Stokes who laughed as he cried out for his mother in sheer terror. She stabbed him through the heart and he died instantly. They were the Hank's only children.

Right wall: In one of the most wrenching moments to ever be seen in a reaping we see 12 year -old Zane Harris of District 5 begging his older brother Thad to take his place in the games. When his name was called Zane ran back to where his older, stronger, 17 year-old brother stood and pleaded with him to go into the games since he had a chance of winning and Zane himself did not. Peace keepers pried little Zane's hands off of his brother's clothing and Thad refused to meet the child's eyes as he was carried to the stage. Zane died in the bloodbath and Thad hung himself after watching his little brother die at the hands of the girl from District 4 Cady Wilson.

Back wall top half: In contrast to the pitiful scene between Zane and Thad this painting shows Katniss Everdeen of District 12 volunteering to take the place of her younger sister Primrose. She was one of District 12's only volunteers and she received the support of the entire community. She went on to win the 74th Hunger Games along with Peeta Mellark, her district partner, an event which started the war against the Capitol. Primrose unfortunately died when bombs were dropped on the President's mansion during the war. She served as a medic for the resistance.

Back wall bottom half: Calvin and Candace Hobbs of District 2 locked in a deadly battle. The siblings were reaped during the 47th Hunger Games and killed each other on the third day of the games. Their parents said that they had been bitter rivals since childhood and did not seem surprised that their children killed one another. Candace slashed through Calvin's throat with her sword but not before he stabbed her in the lower abdomen. Candace died of her wounds almost an hour after Calvin's cannon fired.

Front wall top half: Amber and Carl Jenkins from District 9 were reaped in the 53rd Hunger Games. The career pack that year was particularly sadistic and rather than have them kill his little sister Carl fed her poisoned berries before eating them himself. Their grief stricken parents were later interviewed and said that they were proud of their son because he protected his sister from a worse death at the hands of the bloodthirsty Careers.

Front wall bottom half: Here we see Glitz and Gleam Vinkus, identical twins from District 1 fighting over the honor of volunteering to represent their district in the games. In the end Glitz won out by punching his brother in the face and breaking his nose. Glitz came home a victor and Gleam followed him into the games the next year. Gleam came home in a coffin.

Bedroom 2-Faces of the Dead

This room is dedicated to all of the tributes that Sonia mentored from the time that she won the 42nd Hunger Games until the year before her death in the 75th. Despite Sonia's addiction to morphling she had an incredible memory and an eye for detail. Each child is pictured smiling or laughing with their name painted in a half circle over or under their portraits. The children are all linked together by an immense ivy vine and their district tokens are painted on a leaf near their faces. Some especially poignant tokens include a bracelet that belonged to Marin Katz that is inscribed with the words "Daddy's Little Girl" and the tiny rag doll carried by Axel Dunn which was given to him by his five year old sister.

Bedroom 3- Friends and Victors

This is the bedroom that Sonia slept in and the only one that contains entirely peaceful images of previous victors. All of the paintings feature past victors in some part of the mentor's quarters where each year the district mentors would watch the games and monitor their tribute's progress. From the left wall to the right you can see Woof from District 8 laughing with Chaff from District 11 and Haymitch from District 12. Seeder from District 11 is pictured offering a comforting hand to Cecelia from District 8 in her control booth. Further to the right Beetee and Wiress of District 3 sit deep in conversation. Next to and above them Johanna Mason of District 7 is pictured arm wrestling with Finnick Odair from District 4 while his future bride Annie Cresta watches. Next is Mags, one of the oldest living victors during the final Hunger Games who is offering a cup of tea to Hoster, a victor from District 10. On the front wall Lyme and Enobaria from District 2 are playing darts with Brutus (also D2) and Blight from District 7. The final picture is of Gloss and Cashmere, the famous siblings from District 1, sitting side by side staring stonily at their tribute monitors.
