Sorry this took so long
Im trying to put together all the little bits and pieces of scenes I've thought of. Please review with suggestions!
Beginning is on a Friday night, for those who forgot (I did!)
ALSO! (Please read this is important)
I've noticed that in the first chapter, Sirius is dead. I've changed it on the website, so he's still alive. If you've read chapters 1—10 before this was posted, in your memory change it so Sirius is alive.
Sorry for typos, OOCS and I don't own either series blah blah blah.
PREVIOUSLY
Nico breathed in and out twice. "Because that person is standing right in front of me."
Nico ducked under Percy's arm and ran, blinking back tears. He didn't wait to see Percy's reaction.
THIRD PERSON
Percy blinked. Oh, he thought. That kind of makes sense. His eyes widened. Annabeth. He's forced to watch us every day! And she knows!
He peeked out of the door way. Nico was no where to be seen. He started walking towards the Ravenclaw tower, hoping he could find one of Annabeth's house mates before curfew. However, he hadn't found anyone by the time he reached the doorway, and he couldn't answer the riddle. Dejected, he raced back to the Gryffindor tower before he was caught by a teacher, prefect or head.
Nico's POV
Ohmygods I actually told him, I screamed in my head. Now he definitely hates me. I pinched myself to make sure I wasn't having another bad dream. But he didn't seem surprised to know I was gay, a small part if me said. I brushed it aside. But when I told him he kind of froze, the rest of me said. Ugh.
When I got into my dorm, miraculously it was empty. Quickly I sent an iris message to Bianca.
"Yeah, Nics?" She asked. She was in her dorm with one other person, who was reading. Ginny, I remembered.
"Um. I followed your advice." I said, uncomfortably. Ginny looked like she was listening. Her ears had moved back. "I told, uh, I told our cousin it."
Bianca's eyes widened. "Meet me in front of the portrait hole at seven tomorrow morning." She quickly swiped her hand through the message and dissolved the image.
Third Person
"What was that about?" Ginny asked, looking up from her book.
"Oh, nothing. Just something I've been trying to get Nico to do." Bianca said, trying to be as nonchalant as possible. Ginny shrugged and turned back to her book.
Bianca rushed out of the common room the next morning only to run into Nico. Without saying anything she grabbed his wrist and stormed off.
"How did you tell him?" She hissed once they were in an empty hallway.
"He cornered me and demanded that I tell him who my crush is."
Bianca giggled. "Oh, he is so dense."
Nico smiled slightly. "Well, he didn't seem to care when I told him I was gay—"
"I told you he wouldn't!"
"But I didn't really see his reaction when I actually told him."
"Why not?"
"Well, he froze up a little at first, so I ran."
"Nico!" Bianca punched his arm. "You idiot! You're supposed to wait for his reaction, dummy!"
Nico sighed. "Well, I didn't. What did you expect me to do? It's not like it's normal in the first place! I tell him and he freezes up, obviously I expected the worse!"
"Nico." Bianca put her hand on Nico's shoulder. "I understand. Come on, lets go. Does he know who else knows?"
Nico nodded.
"Then he'll probably talk about it to whoever else knows, and then you can see what he thinks about it."
Nico nodded again, only slightly, and let Bianca lead him out of the abandoned hallway.
At breakfast, as soon as Annabeth appeared through the Great Hall doors, Percy pounced on her. He didn't notice Nico had stopped eating at was watching to see his reaction.
"ANNABETH!" Percy yelled at her.
"Gods, Percy! Keep your voice down!"
Percy ignored that. "You knew and never told me?"
"Knew what?"
"Nico!"
Annabeth's eyes widened. "What about him?" She asked cautiously.
"You knew who he likes!"
Annabeth stared at him suspiciously. "Did he tell you?" Percy nodded. "Who did he say...?"
"Me!"
"He told you." Annabeth said flatly.
Percy nodded.
"I'm actually surprised, that he would tell you before the others." Annabeth shrugged. "Let's talk about this later before we attract more attention." She told him "And Nico's not watching," she added in Ancient Greek.
She patted him on the head and left for the Ravenclaw table.
Percy's POV
Annabeth ran up to me after breakfast. She shoved a letter in my face. "Mrs. Weasley sent me a letter formally inviting us to the Order headquarters. I need to go mail it. Come on."
"Wait, do I have to go to the owlery?"
Annabeth shrugged and started walking. I followed. "Why not?" She asked.
"The owls might attack me!"
She rolled her eyes. "The hippocampi don't attack me."
"That's different!"
Annabeth hit my shoulder and kept walking.
We ducked into a secret passage Fred and George had showed us.
But we weren't alone.
We spotted Nico and Bianca sitting against the wall, talking quietly.
I quickly let go of Annabeth's hand I had been holding. She shot my an exasperated look.
Nico looked like he had when he found me at Camp Jupiter, a deer caught in headlights.
"Hey, guys." Annabeth broke the silence. "We're heading to the Owlery to respond to an invitation to the Order. Want to come?"
"Uhh." Bianca looked at Nico. He looked back uncomfortably. "Uh, we're okay. Thanks though."
As Annabeth nodded, Nico seemed to be thinking, 'don't talk to me, don't talk to me, Percy don't you dare talk to me,' over and over again.
"Hi, Bianca." I said. "Hey, Nico—" Nico froze, then disappeared with his shadow.
I looked at Bianca. "What did I do?"
She sighed. "He just needs time. To… Realize what he said, I guess."
"But it's been forever!" I whined.
She rolled her eyes. "It's been a day...?" She drew out her words.
I huffed. "Does he think I hate him still?" Bianca nodded. "But I don't!"
She gestured for me to continue. "Tell him I said I don't hate him! And to stop avoiding me!"
Bianca nodded. Then Annabeth, who had been politely waiting, said, "ookay, Percy, lets go." For added effect, she yanked me by the ear. I saw Bianca laughing at me before she disappeared around a corner.
As soon as we exited the passageway (I didn't know where we were) I literally ran into Rachel.
"Gah!" She yelled. "Oh. It's you."
"Gee, thanks." I said sarcastically.
"Whatever," she laughed. "Hi, Annie." Before Annabeth could even complain, Rachel continued. "I don't know how you've survived since September. Just this last week three guys asked me out. Three!" She lowered her voice, even though we were alone. "What part of being Apollo's oracle don't they understand?"
I laughed. I was about to ask Rachel if she wanted to come with us, but Annabeth beat me to it.
"Sure." Rachel said. "I've got nothing else to do."
However, soon after we set off walking, a few figured rounded a corner, and then stopped in front of us.
Malfoy and his goons were standing in front of us, and along with them was Pansy Parkington.
"'Sup, Jackson?" He said, more of a statement than a question. "Taking your little mudblood friend for a walk?" He nodded towards Rachel.
Parkington let out a strange, forced laugh that sounded between a Dracena's hiss and Umbridges signature "hem, hem."
I looked towards Annabeth, confused. Hermione had mentioned the word before, but it never stuck.
"Dirty blood." She answered in fast Greek, probably to throw Malfoy off. "Foul name for someone who is 'muggleborn'" she made air quotes. "Mortal, more like it."
Malfoy stepped back. "I see how it is! You're practicing dark magic, aren't you?!"
I rolled my eyes. "Most spells are Latin, idiot."
He sneered, to 'regain his dignity'. "Whatever, Jackson. Answer the question." He pointed at Rachel, and said, as if we couldn't understand English, "You. Mudblood. Walk?" He made his fingers walk in the air. Pansy let out another giggle—squeak.
Rachel shifted her weight to one foot, one hand on a hip. "Let me guess," she said sarcastically. "You're calling me that because of my parentage?"
Malfoy raised his hands, palms up and raised his shoulders. "Yeah, duh, stupid mudblood." (Cue laugh from Pansy)
Rachel stared at him for a second, then burst out laughing. "Please, please. I've been called a lot of things before, but mudblood? Really? That sounds like some kind of Greek monster, and I know for a fact I am 100% human."
Draco rolled his eyes. "It means, dirty blood. Puts 'muggleborns' in their right place."
Rachel shrugged. "Dirty blood, yeah, I've heard that. I've heard that a lot, especially in the second war. But puts them in their right place? That's just stupid! You're pureblood, right?"
The four of them rolled their eyes and nodded in an obvious sort if way.
"Well, then you take pride on your ancestors, yes? But, your ancestors are muggleborn. Just let that sink in."
She brushed past them, and we followed. The slytherins were too shocked to respond. Malfoy called after us, "That's what di Angelo said! It's still not true!"
"Or you're just stupid!" Rachel yelled back.
I laughed. "Nice."
She shrugged nonchalantly. "It's nothing, Octavian was worse, but still not bad." She smiled. "Those were downright stupid."
Annabeth nudged her. "And then he was saying you weren't really the oracle, but then you started spouting a prophecy right there!"
Rachel grinned. "Oh shoot, I still have homework. Potions, ugh. I'll leave you guys alone."
"No, it's f—" Annabeth started, but Rachel was already gone.
"Guess it's just us now." I smiled, and intertwined my fingers with hers. She smiled giddily.
By now we had reached the owlery. It smelled bad, but nothing I couldn't handle.
My eyes darted around, looking at the owls. I half expected the owls to peck my eyes out. My grip on Annabeth's hand tightened, but nothing happened.
She chuckled at my anxiety, then nodded to an owl, and it flew down to her.
"Can you talk to them?" I asked.
"Hmm?"
"Can you talk to the owls, like how I can talk to horses?"
"Oh, yeah. They treat me like royalty when I speak to them, but other than that, they say the weirdest and stupidest stuff."
"But... They're Athena's sacred animal. Shouldn't they be smart?"
She rolled her eyes. "They have wisdom, but that doesn't mean they use it." She watched the owl fly toward its destination.
"Come on, lets go." She tugged on my hand, and I followed.
"Good thing you're here." I said. "I have no idea where we are."
She shrugged. "I don't really know either. I'm using deductive reasoning."
"So, you're guessing."
She smiled and shoved my shoulder. "No, it's deductive reasoning."
"Sure, wise girl. Whatever."
"Good. Now, do you want to go outside or something?"
I scratched my head. "Isn't it all cold and wet though?"
She shook her head. "It hasn't snowed yet. You won't get wet, and you can make me dry, and I know a few really good heating and drying charms..." She trailed off hopefully.
"Alright, alright. Lets go." I gave in, pretending to be reluctant.
I followed Annabeth blindly to where ever she was going. We reached the Main doors quickly enough, and we walked out, heading toward the lake.
There was practically no one outside, considering it was 50 degrees, so we had our fair pick of places to sit.
We sat down against huge tree, so we could both me almost on the same side.
I patted the ground. "Why isn't this wet?"
Annabeth rolled her eyes. "Drying charm? Duh."
"Oh." I said. Then I grinned. "The lake!"
She raised an eyebrow. "What about it?"
"Are we allowed to swim in it?"
"Seaweed brain, it's 50° in the air. Do you know how cold the water is?"
I shrugged. "But I'm the Son of Poseidon."
"Stay here."
"Why..." I whined.
"Because I'm asking you to."
"But..." I put my head in the crook of her neck. "Why...?"
"For gods sakes, Percy. Just freaking stay here with me, okay? Is that too much to ask?"
I grinned up at her. "Okay."
"Good." She pulled me closer. I kept my head where it had been.
Slowly I felt myself fall asleep. Annabeth was holding my right hand, and my left was wrapped around her waist.
Just before I fell asleep, I could've sworn that she mumbled, "I love you."
I was about to reply, but I was already sleeping.
The ending was suckish but I couldn't think of any other way to end it.
I meant for this chapter to go up a week ago, but then I had a final (yes, only one since im in 8th) and my safari kept crashing. But now, with only half a final done, we got a snow day. Woo hoo. I have a camping trip so ill probably be writing in my free time if I can, but obviously no wifi.
oh, and sorry for not making Rachel's part more sassy. Like, I had it all written out in my head, but I'm too lazy to type it. Sorry.
( • ω • )ノ bye!
