Chapter Eleven: Drakkus's Return

Two weeks had passed and Lyuna was racing for Penn Stables, Parm have used a cromoshifter to create the team's symbol on her dragon's back left hip. Suddenly she was struck by a headache, seeing a vision of a black tower and a strange dragon before crying out and teetering slightly. As she began to fall, she felt hands from another racer brace her and push her back up, Cerabus magging her. The girl shook her head and glanced over, grinning. "Thanks Rancydd." She said, crossing the finish line just ahead of him. After they reached the sidelines, they got off their dragons and he walked over. "You sure you're all right Lyuna?" Rancydd asked, eyeing her carefully. "You gave me quite a scare."

Lyuna looked at him; the Dragon Eyes had begun to respect her due to her abilities and the fact she helped their leader. "I'll be all right Rancydd," she said. "It was just..."

She broke off as another headache struck her and she saw the tower again, a pair of strange red eyes above it, then fell back and he caught her, helping her into the Penn Racing tent and lowering her onto a bench before getting a cup of water from a dispenser and handing it to her. She took the cup and drank the contents, holding her head for a moment before weakly getting to her feet.

"You should sit and rest," he said, taking the cup and setting it down before steadying her.

"I-I have to go," was the reply. "Can you help me over to my dragon?"

The red mohawked boy helped her walk back out, her dragon magging her into the saddle. "I'll be all right," she said. "Thank you Rancydd."

She smiled at him before they shot off, heading for Penn Stables, When they got there, they took the lift down to the Temple. "Mortis?" she called, sliding off Cerabus. "Are you here?"

She looked up as the dragon priest came over, then leaned against the wall, holding her head and explaining. "I...had a vision while I was racing-I almost fell off Cerabus and Rancydd caught me and helped me back on. After we got to the sidelines, it happened again."

"You were having visions?" He asked. "How is that...that's right-I forgot you were trained in the old ways." Suddenly he looked up. "Wait a minute, Rancydd saved you? Moordryd wasn't in the race?"

As she went to answer, there was a ringing sound, Mortis gesturing as a screen came down, Artha in his Dragon Booster armor on it. "Something's wrong." He said, lines of static arcing across the image. "There's this tower that Moordryd's trying to climb and now there's...scales!"

The transmission dissolved into static fully, Lyuna looking at her friend. "'Tower...that's what I kept seeing." She sighed. "There was this strange dragon and these weird eyes above a tower."

The Dragon Priest looked at her, frowning as he thought for a few moments, walking over to a wall and hitting the ground with his staff, a door rising and revealing a huge dragon.

"That's Tyrannis Pax," she breathed, straightening up. "I'm coming with you-you're going to need..."

"No." he cut in as he was magged into the saddle. "It's far too dangerous. You will stay here-we cannot lose you."

Mortis rode out, the girl glaring after him before attacking a nearby dummy, venting her rage as a blurry shape came in, staring at her for several minutes before she snarled, whirling around. "What do you want Propheci?" she snapped, watching as the gear deactivated and the dragon appeared in front of her.

"I need your help," Propheci said calmly, watching her. "There's a battle..."

"You most likely heard him," she cut in, her eyes flashing. "I'm to stay here."

"Has being told that ever stopped you before?" He looked into her eyes. "We both know you're going to need you to save their tails, right?"

Lyuna chuckled, climbing onto her dragon. "Come on, let's go."

The trio shot off down the tunnels, stopping on top of a cliff and staring at the battle below, Mortis and Artha on their dragons fighting the dragon and rider from her vision as seeing her friends go flying, the other rider moving toward them.

"They need help," she said. "But...what can I do?"

"Your flute." The orange dragon said. "Play it."

The girl took out her wood flute from her saddle bag and put it to her lips, playing a song her mother had taught her and listening to the sound echo, then Propheci magged her onto his back, Crystal Draconium covering the pair. The other rider looked up, aiming a mag-blast at her, the orange and crystal dragons blasting it back at him, sending the man and his dragon flying. The two dragons roared, Mortis and Artha replying as they charged, the strange rider glaring at them before executing a mag escape and shooting off. The tune ended as the others came up to her, the tower collapsing as she climbed off her friend, spotting a large dragon standing on a nearby cliff. "Hello?" she called, the dragon turning to her, eyes wide. "It's all right," she went on. "We won't hurt you."

The group watched as the dragon took off, then Cerabus magged her rider and they headed for home. When they entered the Temple, she let out a sigh, slipping the flute back into its pocket. "Glad that's over." She said, sliding off her dragon before Mortis came over. "I TOLD you to stay here!" he bellowed. "That was extremely reckless! What in the Magna Draconis were you thinking?!"

"Dad, stop it." Artha cut in. "You know she saved us back there."

"Of course I saved..." Lyuna stopped mid-rant, turning and watching the Dragon Priest remove his helmet, gasping. "Connor?"

She ran over, Connor Penn pulling her into a hug and smiling. "Thank you," he said, wincing slightly. "Artha...is right-we did need your help."

Propheci watched them, nodding once. "Take care Lyuna," he said softly, activating his gear and leaving, then she pulled free, thinking about what happened. 'That dragon," she thought. 'Why do I find it so...familiar?'

The girl shook her head before heading for the lift, Cerabus following behind her and smiling gently.

'Events are moving closer now,' the dragoness thought. 'You will find out that dragon's identity and relationship soon Lyuna-and it's far past time if you ask me.'

(A.N.: Whew...yes, the title is a bit of a rewording of the episode this comes from, but I wanted people to know about where the chapter was taking place in the series. Who is the mysterious dragon who was watching the battle and what is their relationship to Lyuna? You'll just have to wait for the next chapter!)
