Chapter 11

Damon led me further in to the woods. We only walk for a short time when we come across Stefan and Jeremey who are sitting on the grass looking at Jenna's dead body.

"Where is everyone?" I ask quietly.

"They are at Elena's, Stefan didn't think it was a good idea for her to be here where Jenna's body is." Damon says softy trying not to interrupt Jeremey who is talking softly to Jenna.

"Damon, Bella" Stefan says moving to us. "I'm so glad you are okay" Stefan says into my ear holding me tightly. "Damon, I need a quick word." he carries on as he lets me go.

"Sweetheart, stay with Jeremey, we'll be right back." Damon says.

I nod moving to him I sit down on the grass and hug Jeremey.

"I'm sorry" I say not knowing what else I can say or do.

Jeremey leans his head on my shoulder. "Why?" he asks. "She was such a good person; don't think I can take losing anyone else."

I close my eyes hearing Jeremey pain.

"If I could I would bring her back Jeremey." I tell him as I put my arm around him. "You want me to take you to be with Elena?" I ask worried he is here alone.

Jeremey shake his head as he talks "No, I just want to get drunk, forget even if it's just for a little bit."

Jeremey stands up and I move closer to Jenna.

"I am so sorry" I say touching her hand.

I feel a tingle in my hand that is touching the grass and I look down at my hand seeing the grass has tangled around my hand. The grass around my hand looks like it is slowly dying.

"Bella?" Jeremey says in a gasp.

A light travels up my arm. I follow it seeing that it goes down my other arm into my hand and moving into Jenna. I begin to pant a little feeling drained again as my noise starts to bleed.

Jenna sit up gasp as her eyes open.

"DAMON!" Jeremey seems to yell at the same time as I do.

Jenna turns and just looks at me. "Bella?" she says confused.

"What the hell" Damon says pulling me a little away from Jenna.

Stefan leans in close smelling her.

"She human?" Stefan says making it sound like a question. "What the hell happened?" he quickly follows.

I hear Jeremey talking and I look down at the grass seeing that there seems to be a large patch that is dead.

"The grass," I say but my voice sounds far away.

"What love," Damon says turning my face to him, he frowns as he undoes his shirt and puts it up to my noise that is still bleeding.

"I was holding Jenna's hand telling her I was sorry." I say feeling like I'm on a rocking ship. "The grass started to move tangling itself with my other hand, I felt drained, like something was passing through me in to Jenna." I wince as my head starts to get sore. "I feel so tired" I say leaning in to Damon.

I can hear Damon, Stefan, and Jeremey soft talking before I am picked up and carried then everything goes black.

When I wake up I find that I am on Damon's bed, I move slowly seeing I am alone in the room. I get up and start to walk down the stairs. Before I am even half way down I can hear the yelling coming from the living room.

"You can't just bring someone back from the dead, it is not possible" Bonnie says sounding like she is fed up.

"Just because you, can't does not mean that it's not possible that fact the Jenna is breathing will say that much." Damon retorts.

I am sure by the way his voice waivers Damon is moving around the room as he talks.

"I don't trusted her. Come on, Klaus had her all day and never hurt her, yet he kills Jenna?" Elena spouts back.

I don't think anyone can miss the fact that Elena would have been happy if Klaus had killed me.

"Elena" Jenna scolds.

"I am not sure what Bella is, but I really don't think she is even aware of what she is. The first thing I think we should be dealing with is the werewolf bite Damon has." Stefan says and I run in to the living room just looking at Damon.

"What bite where?" I ask moving to him.

I look him all over finding the bit on his arm, and my mind is filled of the memory of him fighting the wolf that went to attack me.

"It's my fault" I say dropping my head.

"Bella we will find a way to save him." Stefan says squeezing my neck.

"I will not lose you." I tell Damon, showing him I am not going to take this. I move closer to him standing on my tie toes "If it were me, you would want need me to fight so please fight this, please" I beg in to his ear.

I feel his arms wrap around me.

"Marry me" he whispers and I know, apart from Caroline and Stefan no one else would have heard it.

I pull back just a little shocked.

"I want you as my wife, either way." Damon says.

This time he is so clear that everyone in the room hears. I nod and hug him again.

"What?" Elena says flabbergasted.

"Is that a yes?" Damon asks ignore Elena outburst.

"That's a yes" I say as he picks me up holding me to him.

"That is sickening." Elena says, but her voice sounds a little odd.

"Kathrine." Stefan says and I turn seeing her looking at me.

"You were sweeter when you asked for my hand Damon." She says smugly.

"You compelled me to ask you so that doesn't count." Damon says with a roll of his eyes.

Kathrine looks right at me smiling, I raise one of my eyebrows showing her I am not afraid of her.

"Heard you many need my help regarding a bite?" Kathrine says look to Stefan. "We'll need to see Klaus" she carries on when no one replays to her.

"Why?" I ask.

"Because Klaus' blood will cure lover boy there, and he will trade some of it, for Stefan working for him."

"NO" Damon, Elena and I say together.

"What do mean no, this only way to save Damon's life?" Kathrine snap out.

"It'll be fine" Stefan says smiling at me.

"You're not doing this" Damon says but staggers.

I wrap my arms around him.

"You're burning up" I say as my heart starts to thumb.

Ric moves to Damon's other side and helps me carry him up to his room.

"Please Damon fight" I whisper in to his ear as I lay next to him on his bed.

The hours seem to pass with Damon sleeping most of the time. As the door opens and look to see a dishearten Stefan.

"What happened?" I say jumping up careful not to disturb him.

"He has already left." Stefan says.

I just look at him.

"They must be another way?" I sob out a little.

"We'll save him I swear to you." Stefan says with conviction. "I am going with Kathrine to see if we can track him down he shouldn't be too far."

"Come back home." I say hugging him.

"I will." Stefan replies.

He kisses my head and disappear before my tears start to run down my face.

"Damon, you need to hold on." I tell him and he opens his eyes looking at me.

"It's okay, I'm ready." He says.

I shake my head at him.

"Hush baby." he says pushing my hair from my face. "Thank you."

I look at him confused.

"You showed me what it's like to feel loved." Damon clarifies.

"Damon stop talking like this, you swore to fight this, don't leave me now." I tell him angrily.

"I'll never leave you, I'll always be here" he say place his hand on my chest.

He gasps a few times and I can see his chest and rising and fall quickly.

"You'll need to leave me soon; I don't want to hurt you." He chokes out.

"You won't" I say sure that he wouldn't do anything bad to me.

"You're so stubborn" He says.

"When comes to you, and staying with you yes I am." I reply.

He chuckles and closes his eyes again. I lay with my head on his chest closing my eyes praying that we find a cure for him.

I jump awake when I hear a loud bang, I look to Damon who is still sleep and I slide away as I hear the bang again. I make my way down the stairs and jump seeing Klaus standing there looking worried.

"Bella?" He says looking at me with such a heartfelt look.

I break down, with everything that has happened from the accident I just can't stay strong or keep a poker face. Klaus wraps me up in his arms.

"You have to help, please" I beg in to Klaus chest as he hushes me and runs a hand down my back.

"That's why I am here little Bella," Klaus says comforting me.

I frown and look at him "You were the first one that called me Bella?" I question and he nods his head.

"You were and are such a pretty girl." He says looking at me softly.

"Damon" I say looking at the stairs.

"Here" he says handing me a small bag of blood. "It's mine, just get him to drink it."

"Stefan?" I ask knowing that Kathrine said Klaus only exchange his blood for Stefan.

Klaus sigh "This is in exchange for you to come with me no questions asked when I come back in to town."

I swallow and then nod my head.

"Trust me Bella" Klaus says softly and he cup my face.

"I did at one point?" I say.

He smiles and nods.

"What was your name when I knew you?" I ask knowing that it was not Klaus.

"Nick" He says grinning. "I've got stuff to do, but I should be back within a month. If you need be before then, call me." he says handing me a paper with a number on it. "Good bye for now.

"Bye Nick" I say and he stops and turns to me smiling.

He shakes he head before walking out the door.

I take a deep breath and run back upstairs, I burst through the door finding Elena is in bed with Damon, kissing his lips. She pulls back and I see one of her eyes goes to me.

"I love you too Damon." She says smirking.

"Fuck off Elena" I say harshly knowing this is another one of her games.

Damon is clearly out of it and has no idea what the hell happing to him.

"Not my fault he loves me, just giving him some happiness before he dies." She replies standing up.

"Just get out" I say tired of her shit.

She walks out with a smug grin on her face. I pull back my hand and groan.

Hit her later, cure Damon now

I say to myself moving to Damon.

"You need to drink this." I say holding the now open blood bag to his mouth. "Please" I coax.

"Love you Bella" he say softy as he starts to drink.

"I love you too" I whisper kissing his head.

Once he is done I lay back down near him, watching the bite mark. It seems to take a little bit but then it slowly starts to heal. I kiss his chest before closing my eyes as exhaustion and relief engulf me.

"Baby."

I hear Damon's voice softly in my ear. I hum and move closer to Damon.

"Time to wake up" Damon says with a chuckle.

"Can't I stay off of school?" I ask not wanting to move.

"You can, but can you wake up and help us work out how I healed up?" Damon asks.

My eyes spring open as I remember Damon's bite. I look at him seeing that he looks so much better. Before he can utter another word I am hugging him tightly.

"I missed you too." Damon says in to my ear.

I pull back and kiss him as I saddle his lap.

"Baby as much as I am enjoying this we have audiences." Damon says chuckling.

I bite my lip pulling away and turn to face Stefan, Ric, Caroline, Bonnie and Elena.

"Thought I told you to fuck off?" I say harshly to Elena, who just looks back at me in shock.

"Bella?" Stefan questions.

"Nick was here and I was talking to him down stairs. When I got back up here she was kissing Damon." I snap.

"WHAT?" Damon yells

"No I wasn't, he kissed me." Elena defends.

I roll my eyes at her.

"Would it hurt you to say the truth once in a while?" I ask.

"I am." Elena says like a small child.

"You know what, for just one day, I would love for whatever comes out of your mouth to be the truth." I snap.

"I would like to know who Nick is?" Bonnie says

"Klaus" I say losing my fiery temper and gulping.

"Just great even Klaus falls for the plain ass girl."

Everyone in the room looks at Elena who looks like a deer caught in head lights.

"What I mean is, you are nothing compared to me." Elena snaps her mouth shut and covers it with her hand.

Damon looks to me and then to Elena. "Did you kiss me when I was out of it?" he asks.

"Yes" again she just looks at every one.

"Why?" Damon asks with a smug look on his face.

"Because she took you from me. I wanted her to hurt seeing you kiss me." Elena says as she swallows thickly at the end. "What the hell going on?" Elena yells looking around the room.

"Why would you do that Elena, you said you loved me?" Stefan asks pained.

"What no" she says sound disgusted "I just didn't want Caroline to date you!"

"WHAT?" Caroline says angrily.

"I" Elena say open and closing her mouth and then looks at me.

"It's her she cast some freaky spell making me say these things..." Elena says pointing at me.

"No the only spell she could have cast was for you to say the truth" Bonnie says as she eyes Elena carefully.

"You're meant to be on my side stupid witch." Elena snaps.

"You should go home Elena" Stefan says without looking at her.

"You going pay for this" Elena says shaking her finger at me and walks away.

"I'm sorry" I say to Stefan and hug him to me.

He wrap his arms around me and puts his mouth close to my ear.

"You're my sister in every way that counts, I'll be okay" he kisses my cheek and lets me go.

"Now enough on Elena, what did Klaus or Nick asks for in return for his blood." Damon asks.

I drop my head "For me to go with him when he asks." I say quietly.

"No way is he taking you." Damon says making me face him. "I was not worth that." He says looking right in to my eyes.

"Yes you are, to me you are worth that and more." I tell him moving closer to him.

"We should leave go to another place" Damon says looking worried.

"No, please Damon it will be fine, he'll let me stay with you." I say.

Damon gives me a look to say he needs more.

"I think I knew him when I was a child." I start to explain. "I can remember my mom cooking a meal for her new boyfriend. It was him, he was her boyfriend."

I close my eyes rubbing my head as I try to draw out the memories.

"He was there for few years, he nicknamed me Bella." I stop talking as my head start to hurt. "He still cares that's why he saved you, but he worries about me, and I think it has to do with all the stuff I have been able to do."

Damon sighs, "You're mine."

I nod my head at him.

"I'll fight for you" Damon says firmly.

"You better." I say lightly.

"We'll leave you two to talk" Stefan says and again I am hit with his pain.

I watch as he Ric Bonnie and Caroline walk out.

"What do we do?" I ask.

"Besides, killing Elena?" Damon suggests partially joking.

"Yea, but she pushes much more feel free to kill her." I reply dryly.

Damon chuckles a little. "I think we need reinforcements."

"Who?" I ask.

Damon spends over an hour talking to a Lexi who was ready to come as soon as Damon told her Stefan needs her.

"She sounds like she loves him." I say as he gets off the phone.

"She does" Damon says softly "But I think I made it….not possible for them to date."

"Why?" I ask confused.

"I slept with her; she knows what Kathrine did to us. She doesn't want to make it worse. If I hadn't slept with her I am sure they would be a happy couple by now." Damon explains.

There's so much emotion to Damon's voice that I am taking back by it.

"Maybe it will be different now, you have me." I suggest.

"May be" Damon says, but the guilt is still there in his voice.

"What do think I am?" I say. "The shield, bring people back from the dead, able to cast a spell, with some words?"

I want to move the topic on as clearly Damon does want to talk about what happened just yet.

"I am not sure baby, but you are good" he says kissing my lips.

He smiling jumping up, walks over to his dresser, and opens one of its draws. He gets something from it and comes back kneeling on the floor.

"I know I have asked and you said yes, but I want to ask you right." He says.

He clears his throat taking my hand in to his.

"I am selfish, with a large mean streak. I have done a lot of wrong in my life; I know this but this is who I am. You seem to see me, all of me, no matter what I show you, you still look at me with those big brown eyes. From the second I saw you, on that dark road, I knew I felt something for you. Slowly you became my friend, a friend who I have fallen in love with. I know you feel the same I see it in the way you look at me. So will you do me the honour of become my wife?" He asks.

Damon opens the small ring box showing a beautiful ring.

"It beautiful" I say looking at Damon then back to the ring. "It was your mother?" I question knowing I have seen it before in the pictures he showed me.

"It was, and I am still waiting on my answer." Damon says teasingly.

"I may need to think over, you said you were selfish does that mean you will steal the bed covers?" I tease back.

Damon chuckles "Yep, I like to see your sexy body."

"If I say yes do I get to see yours?" I counter.

"Every day" He replies with a spark of mischief in his eyes.

I nod my head at him. "Yes I'll marry you"

Damon kisses me harshly then pulls back and places the ring on my finger.

"I love you Bella" he says pulling me back closer to him.

"I know, and I love you too." I reply.

He grins at me pulling me down on to the bed.

We laugh and chat putting everything that is going on out of our minds for just one night.
