Yawn, gotta love weekends. I remained asleep til ten, that is the whole reason why I love weekends. I got up and as I was eating cereal I burnt my tongue on leftover pranks from Stenz, but saw that today was marked on my calendar.
As soon as I saw the mark I jumped. Today was that party that Pinkie was throwing for Stenz. I quickly shoved the cereal down my throat and sprinted out the door. As soon as I got to Pinkie's house it was almost already set up. There was still a few things left. I ran to Pinks and asked what was left to do.
"Still have to put up these banners, and clean up a little from last nights party but it will be fine otherwise" Pinks said. "Thanks" I said. I ran over to the mess in the other room.
Upon entering all I could do was stare. There was bottles of beer everywhere! There was alcohol stains on the carpet and couch. Pinkie walked in after I did. "Um, we kinda partied hard yesterday" she said. "What did you party over yesterday?" I asked. "We had Stencie's welcome party, you missed it" Pinkie said.
What a wonderful way to greet somepony, give em beer. I thought for a moment. I thought I was supposed to be doing something else but then I shrugged it off and got to work cleaning up last night's party. First I got a hold of a rag and water and started scrubbing the room.
Pinkie left shortly after I started. As I was scrubbing I thought. I came here to help with Stenz's party. This mess is from that party, so now I wonder what party I am really helping with. I will find out later, Pinks will tell me. I finished cleaning the room after a few hours (yes it was that bad) and headed to the main room.
I saw Pinks blowing up balloons and she had a few streamers next to her. She looked to me and tossed the streamers to me. "Put those up while I work with these balloons" She said. I picked up the streamers and started tossing them around, getting them hung and everything.
It didn't take too long to set that up. Then Pinks comes in the room with a banner saying "Happy Birthday" that got me thinking. Well crap, I missed Stenz's party yesterday and now I had almost forgot Apples's party. Now that I think even more, I forgot to get her a present.
I started pacing back and forth, sweat dropping from my head. At least it was 12:00 ish, and the party starts at seven. I started by heading to Rarity's house, to get Apples a dress. By the time I got to the door I remembered Apples doesn't wear dresses. So I ran to a different store. It took me til 4:00 to look everywhere but I just didn't find anything that suited Apples.
Then I figured, she said she liked a colt so now I would go find him. She can meet him, that's what I could give her. I thought for half an hour, then realized that I probly couldn't find him. I walked over to Fluttershy's house to see if she had any ideas. When I got there I saw Flutter's holding some flowers. "I think Applejack will like these, here you can give them to her" Flutter's said. "Um, what are you going to give Apples if I give her these?" I asked.
"I made her a scarf Rainbow, I sorta picked out those flowers thinking you'd forget then remember last second" Flutters said. "Haha, very funny" I said sarcastically. I looked at the flowers for a moment, they were red roses. "Wait a sec Flutters, these are the kind of flowers you would give to somepony you love, don't you think Apples will feel awkward?" I asked.
Flutters blinked then just waved a hoof and said "Don't worry about it, everything will be fine". I thanked her then walked out of her cottage. I started walking back to Pinks but Rarity stopped me and dragged me to her house saying something about how I was dressed.
"Rarity! I don't need some fancy clothes!" I exclaimed. "I will not have you look like that while you attend Applejack's birthday!" Rarity yelled back as she threw a brush through my mane and poked me with a needle while she was sewing something on me. "Ouch that hurt!" I screamed. "Well if you held still you. Wouldn't have gotten hurt darling" Rarity said as she continued sewing.
I sat there grumbling for what seemed like forever. Finally I heard Rarity say "Done". I quickly jumped to the nearest mirror. She had sewn a tuxedo on me and my mane was wicked fancy. I quickly shook my head to get my normal mane back then I looked at a clock, it was 6:55. I flipped out, grabbed the flowers and ran.
Pink's party house was at least ten minutes away. I ruffled my coat and tie as I ran down the streets of Ponyville. I finally got to the house and as I burst through the door everypony just freezed. I was standing there panting and Apples walked up to me. "Rainbow... are ya ok?" She asked.
"I'm late, of course I am not ok" I said. "Calm down Rainbow, it is jus' a party" Apples said. "Well, Happy Birthday cowpony" I said as I handed her the flowers. She blushed a little. "So what were you ponies doing?" I asked. "We were just jammin to music Dashie" Pinkie said.
So I just started dancing with the crowd. I looked around, and there wasn't too many colts, some of them even laughed at me because I was wearing a tux. I noticed that Apples wasn't hanging with any of the colts. So I walked up to her and asked "So where's that colt you claimed to like?"
Apples laughed. "Well, he is in this room, an' his tux is pretty well ruffed" Apples giggled. I looked around, none of the colts had ruffed up their tux. I turned back to Apples. "I don't see him" I said. Stenz came over and said "You sure? Because I have a good view of him here". I remained dumbfounded.
"Look, I don't see him, you will have to point him out" I said. Apples just looked me in the eyes and said "would it help ya ta know the colt has a rainbow mane?". I was dumb enough to look around, no colts had a rainbow mane. "Ok seriously what am I not getting?" I asked. Stenz laughed hard, she must've thought I was blind.
"Rainbow, it is ya that ah am interested in" Apples said. I blinked twice. What? After all this work? Fireworks were going off in my mind. I must have looked stupid as I stood there stunned for like ten minutes. Fluttershy walked over and waved a hoof in front of my head. "Rainbow, Applejack isn't going to stand here forever" Flutters said.
I shook my head then hugged Apples tightly. Then Pinks turned on a slow song. Well crap, I don't know how to dance. I looked up at Apples then smiled saying "May ah have this dance young mare?". "Yes Rainbow, ah will dance with ya" Apples said. I took her hoof and we started dancing with no shame.
It looked weird but we didn't care, a few ponies left from disgust of gay couples, and I saw Pinkie dancing with Stenz. I guess they hooked up. Twi and Rarity were also dancing together. Then I saw Fluttershy with Big Mac. Everypony was so happy, that night was great.
Slowly, ponies left. I guess they were tired. As the end of the night was drawing near I looked into Apple's eyes. "Applejack, I love you" I said. "Ah love you too Rainbow" Apples replied. We stood there looking into eachothers eyes, then we slowly closed the gap between our lips and it happened. We kissed.
Author's Note: Hey guys, it has been awhile. This will be the last chapter excluding the epilogue which will go up soon. I hope you all enjoyed this story, and I extend a special thanks to Stencilella (Stenz) who had help me when I had a minor writers block. Review as you all may, and maybe the epilogue will be up within the month. Also, I need ideas for the next story I will work on after this one has ended.
