Every year Natalia kept her promise to Arwen. She would meet her in the clearing where they first met on her begetting day. As Arwen matured their time spent on that one day went from childish games to more serious conversations of different topics. Arwen was a very intelligent for her age. Most likely her father had a handling in her tutoring. Meaning he had Erestor teach her everything she could hold into her small brain.
One year Natalia had just gotten back from mirkwood two years before. She had arrived at the clearing. She sat down and waited for Arwen. She had waited for an hour when she started to get worried that something had happened to her dear friend that she had started to consider as the daughter she never had. She closed her eyes and tried to focus on the sounds around her. She focus on footfalls walking towards her. She opened her eyes to see Glorfindel walking into the clearing. She stood up quickly and bowed in respect. My Lord glorfindel how are you this fine day. She asked she then turned her head towards the movement from behind him Arwen stepped around him. I'm sorry Armathor my father insisted that he accompany me. He wanted glorfindel to meet my secret friend to see if you could be trusted. Arwen explained it's quite alright. I was afraid something had happened to you when you didn't show up at our usual time. Natalia replied Natalia looked back at glorfindel well golden warrior do I meet your expectations. She asked as she recognized the look of awe and reverence in his eyes at meeting her for the first time. Um.. ah... yes you do if Arwen had told us that her secret friend was our great protector we wouldn't have questioned who she was meeting. He replied sheepishly. She nodded she sat back down Arwen joined her. Glorfindel sat down on a rock in front of her. Is it true that you trained prince Legolas. And healed king thranduil at the battle against the northern serpents. Arwen asked yes i did along with some of his peers. But I didn't heal king thranduil I helped with his rehabilitation. Natalia replied. They sat there and talked for a few more hours. Around lunch time Natalia called her horse over. Nightingale trotted into the clearing. Natalia walked up to her and opened her traveling rucksack she pulled out a intricately designed sword. Happy begetting day princess she said and handed it to Arwen I had it designed specifically for you.
Oh thank you Armathor it's beautiful. You know you spoil me. I think even more than my father does. Arwen said as she unsheathed the sword. Glorifindel watched the scene Unfold in front of him. He had never seen his princess so happy before. He sat and watched as the Armathor began to train Arwen in the basics of sword welding. He was impressed by her skill. Each time she demonstrated a move for Arwen to copy. A few hours later the sun had begun to set. Glorifindel stood up I believe it's time I bring you back to your father and mother princess. He said oh alright lord glorfindel. Thank you Armathor for the gift. She wrapped it around her waist. Oh I almost forgot. Armathor my mother will be taking me to lolthrien in the spring to begin my princess training so I won't be here for a long time. Arwen said I see well then I will write to you and send you a gift every year. I must be going. It was very nice to meet you Lord Glorifindel. Natalia replied it was an honor to meet you great Armathor. He replied he took Arwen by the arm and escorted her home. Natalia watched them dissappear then got on her horse she left the clearing and made her way back to lolthrien.
It took two days for the edge of the golden wood to come into view. Her entire ride she couldn't shake this dreading feeling in the pit of her stomach like something bad was going to happen. She was about three hundred feet from the wood when she was suddenly knocked from her horse. She fell hard onto the ground. Her breath was knocked from her lungs. She tried to catch her breath instead of air a searing pain ran through her body from her side she looked and saw an arrow protruding from herside. She recognized the orc arrow. She stood up and pulled out her swords just as a blade made it way towards her she blocked it. Standing before was the largest orc she had ever seen. It tried to come at her again she blocked him again. Each blow he tried was met with excruciating pain. Finally the orc charge at her with its body and knocked her down. Today you shall die she elf it sneered and swung it's blade towards her face...
Nightingale had kept running towards the woods. Knowing that her mistress was in danger. It galloped faster till it finally was in the woods she neigh ed frantically hoping on of the gaurds would notice her...
Haldir was standing upon a flet watching the silence of the wood. He was hoping Natalia would be coming home soon he was missing her dearly. Suddenly he heard a horse neigh. He looked down and recognized Nightingale. He jumped down from the flet and took hold of her reigns. Where was Natalia she never left her horse. He calmed the horse down till he could feel it's spirit. He felt the desperation inside the horses spirit. He knew something was wrong. He mounted the horse. Come on girl bring me to Natalia. He commanded he whistled for more gaurds to follow. When they had exited the wood he could see Natalia fighting off a large orc. She had an arrow protruding from her side he could tell she was becoming weaker with each blow. He then saw the orc push her down onto her back. He knew she was too weak to fight back. He got close enough to aim his arrow at the orc and let it go. The arrow hit the orc in the head but not before it's blade had cut into Natalia's face. All Haldir heard was Natalia's blood curdling scream then nothing. He jumped from the horse. And rushed over to her. Oh Valar please don't let her be dead. He prayed he knelt at her side. He grimaced when he saw the damage the Orcs blade had don to her face. A jagged deep cut from above her eyebrow down over her eye and past her cheek it ran. He checked for life. He was relieved that she was still breathing. He quickly removed the arrow as painless as possible. She cried out in pain. She began to bleed profusely. He ripped his tunic so he could slow the bleeding. He called Nightingale and got on he placed Natalia in front of him. Nightingale went as fast as her legs could go. Haldir could hear Natalia's breathing slowing. Hold on antlaia we're almost home. Please hold on. I know you can. He yelled when they finally made it to the city Galadriel and a group of healers were already waiting to take Natalia. Haldir quickly put her on this stretcher. Galadriel commanded Haldir did as she said. He hadn't realized that there were tears falling from his eyes until the healers had shut the door to the healing halls. He slumped to the floor and waited for word of her condition be it life or death. He could hear her screams from the inside as they were trying to clean her wounds and poison from the arrow. Haldir couldn't take listening to her screams. He got up and left the halls. Hours later Haldir came back after the screams had died. He arrived at the door just as Galadriel was was exiting the room. How is she. He asked we were able stop the bleeding and drained as much of the poison out and stitched up her wounds. All that's left is to pray she wakes up from the poisoning of her mindI will send word for all kinds to send up prayers to the valar. You may see her now speak to her she might be able to hear you and come back to us unscathed. Galadriel left. Haldir entered the room and walked over to Natalia's side. He took her hand in his. He saw the wound to her face he new it would leave a scar. Natalia if you can hear me please come back to us. Everyone needs you here especially me. I love you I always have. I can't imagine my world without you in it. You have been my greatest friend. He had silently began to let tears fall from his eyes. Please Natalia I need you. He kissed her head then continued to hold her hand and refused to leave her side..
