Hello world and welcome to the Gryffindor Quidditch tryouts. (Harry-"I told you she learnt from Oliver.") Line up includes…The tryouts. (Ron-"I don't think Oliver would have said that.") Anyway, If they would SHUT IT. (Hermione- 'Alright, we get it.) Now (All-"On with the match!") Awww you stole my line.

Diclaimer-No, not even somewhere over the rainbow, do I own Harry Potter.

Harry stood on the field trying in vain to get those trying out to be quiet.

"QUIET!" Ginny eventually shouted and they actually shushed. After rolling his eyes at her smirk, he took charge.

"Keeper, you take the keeper tryouts and assess them. Yes Ron that means you." Ron nodded and took the keepers off.

"Chasers, you take the chaser tryouts and see who should get reserve and the last space." Katie, and Ginny nodded.

"Beaters, you should really get the jist of what to do now." Fred and George mock saluted Harry and marched off with 5 or so children in tow. How 5 was going to be split into pairs, well… Harry wouldn't put much past Fred and George.

"Seeker, you stop talking to yourself and start trying out." He said. Many of the kids looked at him strangely and he explained it away by saying. "Fred and George." Which earned many understanding nods.

He looked at who he had left.

Jack, Andrew, Melonie, Dev and Alline had gone with Fred and George.

Harry vaguely recognized Andrew Kirk and Jack Sloper as being the two he had met but the others he didn't know.

Demelza Robbins, Ani and Dean Thomas had gone with the chasers as well as 2 others Harry didn't know.

Harry couldn't make out all the keepers and Beaters as the boys had already gotten them up in the air.

He looked over who he had left. There were quite a spread of people.

Harry checked his list of people.

"Alright, up first is Deena Rick of…Hufflepuff." He looked at the girl. "This is the Gryffindor tryouts, I'm afraid you have to leave." She pouted but left.

Harry looked down at the list.

Becky from Ravenclaw.

Danule from Hufflepuff.

Richard from Hufflepuff.

"Is there anyone from Griffindor here?" He asked.

"We are." A group of about 15 people, 6 being giggling girls, raised their hands from the back. The other 15 or so… They weren't in Gryffindor. Harry sighed.

"Alright." He raised his voice so everyone in the stadium heard.

"ANYONE WHO IS NOT IN GRYFFINDOR… GET OUT!" Harry couldn't actually stop the raising of eyebrows as a good 20 people left.

"Come on" Harry said as he recognized one of the girls flying off. "Luna you know your house." She stared straight at him as she landed and commented. "I guess the Nargles got to me." Harry shook his head but said she could watch with Neville in the stands.

He now looked at the remaining people. The 6 Giggling Girls consisted of Romilda Vain, Lavender Brown and you get the kind of girls they were. The rest looked like really short 2nd years.

He told them to split off into years and they evenly split into 2 groups. The Gigglers and the Small 2nd years. Harry turned to the Gigglers first.

"Alright if you could-" They giggled.

"Ok… Can you-" They turned beet red.

"Please can you-" They just downright interrupted him this time.

"Oh my Merlin. Harry Potter TALKED to ME."

"No he talked to ME!"

"No he didn't. it was ME." He sighed as they started arguing.

He looked pleadingly at Ani who had just landed, having finished her tryout.

"You're a girl, help me." He pleaded. Ani raised an eyebrow.

"Well seen as you have given me such a compliment as putting me in the same category as them" She nodded to the Gigglers. "I guess I must owe you one." Harry chuckled at her weird logic and joke.

" Wait, what are you going to do?"

She smirked. "Just see how they cope in the air." She leaped on her broom and surfed up to them, grabbing one of the girls as she went passed.

Many looked over and laughed as Romilda Vain, screeched and thrashed her arms, trying to get off the broom. The shrill shrieks finally became too much and Harry was forced to tell Ani to let her go.

"Melissa, That's enough."

"Aww" She said, but let the girl down. Romilda promptly slapped Ani and stormed off, the rest of her friends behind her.

"Well, That-"

"Solves that." The twins said as they landed by Harry. Ginny landed also and chuckled as she glanced at Ani who was landing.

"Nice trick to get rid of them" She said.

Ani put an innocent look on her face causing many of them to roll their eyes.

"Let's just get these last guys over with."

They all turned to a small bunch who Harry now thought of as the really short 2nd years.

"I mean, do you even get 2nd years that short?" Ginny had somehow known exactly what they were thinking.

"Oh we're not 2nd years" One brave boy spoke up.

"We're first years." Harry sighed in annoyance. Was one person actually fit to try out.

"Ryan told us about how you taught him Quidditch and so we wanted to try out."

Harry sighed once again. They probably hadn't even flown before. "Alright. Go please." He said, trying not to be harsh. The 1st years also sighed and left.

Harry turned to his friends, now noticing that Ron had landed too. "Right, Ani? Can you go with the others who tried out so we can discuss the team.?"

The girl nodded and soon it was just Harry, Ron, Fred, George, Ginny and Katie.

"well" He asked. "How'd it go."

"Better than you but the beaters were terrible, sorry but you won't end up with a decent back up. Because we have to have a reserve, I would go with Jack and Andrew because the others can't even wield a bat" Fred said. Harry nodded and wrote down the names on the list.

For reserve Keeper I would go for Melissa as she is really good on the reflexes but I hear the girls want her for chaser so maybe put her in for reserve keeper or even seeker. She's pretty ok Harry." Ron said and Harry thought for a second before deciding.

"I'll put her for chaser and reserve keeper if we need her. Then we can have an extra chaser reserve to take her place if she needs to go to another position. I still think Ginny should keep reserve seeker though because she really fitted it last year. However, I'll give you two the option of playing either position if we need it ." Both girls nodded and Katie smirked.

"I told you he's make a great captain." Harry fought down a blush and turned to Ginny.

"Ani for chaser, she catches well and throws good too. Dean Thomas and Demelza Robbins for reserves, they work well together and they can actually catch pretty well too."

Harry nodded and wrote down the latest piece of information. He read out the new team to the guys to see if they approved.

"Reserves are Ginny and Ani for reserve Keeper and Seeker, Andrew Kirk and Jack Sloper for reserve beater. Demlza Robbins and Dean Thomas for reserve Chasers" They nodded. "Ron Weasley for Keeper, Harry Potter for seeker, Ginny Weasley, Kaitie Bell and Melissa Andrews for chaser. Lastly, Masters Gred and Forge as beaters." There were various chuckles at Harry's name for Fred and George but overall, everyone agreed on the team.

They went over to where the rest were waiting and Harry cleared his throat. Thankfully they quieted first time and Harry let himself have a little sigh in relief, to which the guys laughed at.

After sufficiently glaring and blushing, he read out the team. There were a number of disappointed groans but most of them were good natured about it.

After the others had left, Harry looked at his new team.

"Alright" He said. "Congrats on making the team, we will be doing some new hard stuff but hopefully it will be fun as I don't want to wake you up at five in the morning for tryouts."

There were various winces and Dean commented. "Yeah, please don't I need my beauty sleep." They all had a good laugh at that.

Harry got the newbies together and sent them off with their new team mates who played the same position, he wanted them to pick up the techniques and ways of communicating that they used so it would be more affective when they played. He stayed back with the reserves and did a few activities with them.

"Alright." He commanded. "Get into a space."

They basically played catch but with a few twists. They had to stay stationary and beaters had to pass the ball using their bats. Harry figured it would be good practice for Andrew and Jack. Seen as they only had two reserve chasers, Harry played as chaser.

After that, he stopped them.

"Ok, so that was good. Andrew, you need to work on how much power you put in to your hits, sometimes you need loads more, Jack, you need to work on your aim." They nodded and went off into a little space to hit a tennis ball back and forth. Harry had chosen a tennis to help improve accuracy because it was much smaller.

He turned to Demelza and Dean. "You two need to make sure you stay still when we pass." He instructed.

"But why still, don't we move in quidditch." Demelza asked.

"Yes." Harry replied. "But if you stay still now, you can better understand the impact simple throws can have, rather than just lobbing it anywhere on the pitch. Also, when you start moving and doing more complicated throws, you will better appreciate just how much you can move. Lastly, if you practice not moving, or moving at the last minute, you can't give any clues to the other team as to where you may pass."

They both nodded looking impressed.

"Wow, Harry, you know your stuff." Dean whistled.

"Well I bunked with Ron for over 5 years." He said. "You pick up a few things."

He left the two of them making harder passes. He told them to focus on vertical up and down ones as well as backwards ones as he knew from Ron that Hufflepuff and Slytherin didn't fair well with them.

He flew over to Andrew and Jack who were still beating as bad as before. The only change was that Andrew was now walloping the ball every which way. At lease Jack was actually coming close to hitting some of them though. As they looked over, Harry gave them a thumbs up. He didn't mind Andrew hitting too hard because actual Bludger's were harder and so they might not go as far. Harry decided to test his theory and gave Andrew a bludger with the instruction to his it at Jack, who gulped. Harry went and came to a stop a good distance behind Jack and let Andrew hit.

"Oh god no." Was what he said when Andrew hit it and it still catapulted away. Jack dodged and now it was up to Harry to catch the thing. He positioned himself and braced for impact when the bludger came towards him. Hopefully he would be able to catch it instead of it hitting him.

It hit him and he was happy to notice he caught it. But not happy to notice the force slapped him right off his broom. He sighed resignedly as he sped towards the ground. Hopefully Madame Pomfray would be able to fix this.

But he never hit the ground. Within a blink, he found himself in someone's arms and not falling anymore. He just had to blush at who had caught him. (AT-"Can you guess who? Can you?") Ani had caught him once more. (AT-"And Ani's reflexes strike again!") She laughed and clicked her tongue.

"Just can't keep promises can you?" She asked.

He scrambled off her and a face full of mud later, stood up.

Andrew landed with the rest of the team, a guilty look on his face.

"Don't worry about it." Harry said before he could even start apologizing and the boy reluctantly nodded.

"Alright." He said. "Reserves, I think you are alright to go now for today. The rest of you, lets try a game shall we?"

It really wasn't a bad game either.

It was a bit awkward playing when you only had one teams worth of people and they spent much of the time laughing but Harry didn't mind. His team was good and they were getting to know one another a little bit. Also, he was having fun as a stand in chaser.

About an hour later, the sky had darkened and they landed, laughing. "Alright guys." Harry said. "Go shower coz, no offense, you stink."

"So do you." Katie laughed. "More since you were flying more than us."

"It's not my fault I'm not an expert chaser, I've only played it about ZERO times." He defended as they entered the castle.

"It's alright" Ginny said. "It's like your ears, you'll grow into it."

"Wha-what's wrong with my ears?" Harry asked.

"Oh Harry" Katie laughed. "Ginny sure can get you good."

"Speaking of getting. Why am I getting to find you traipsing mud all over the Hogwarts floor?" The reaction was instant. Shoulders hunched in defence and glares readied themselves as they heard the voice of the potions master. Almost being able to feel the sneer, they turned.

"We have just come back from quidditch sir." Harry said.

"And why, pray tell, were you fooling about on the quidditch pitch.?" He sneered.

"Tryouts." Katie stated.

"That is no excuse for you leaving a trail of mud behind you." Snape glared, almost smiling at the temptation of telling them off.

"Well we would shower and stop leaving mud but you're kinda holding us up, so if you don't mind…" And Ani just walked off.

"mmm" Snape sneered but surprisingly, didn't comment. Instead, he chose to give them one of his famous cloak swirls and strode off in the opposite direction.

"Well done Mellisa."

"Yeah, that was awesome." The other quidditch players congratulated her before hurrieng off for their shower. That left Ani, The golden trio, Ginny, Fred and George alone.

"That was amazing Ani." Hermione said.

"Yeah" Ani's voice was faint. "Cannot belive I did that."

"What do you mean?" Harry asked.

"Well I know him" she said. "you know, the whole, I was with Voldemrort thing. I saw him there, he scares the wits out of me."

"Well he can't do anything here." George said.

"Plus, we are here so don't even think about it." Fred added.

"Thanks guys." She said hugging them. Then:" But we really need to shower." Laughing happily, they made their way to the common room.
