Chapter Eleven: The Release
I do not and will not ever own Fairy Tail or Frozen. That is a fact of life I will have to deal with. Not one that I like, but still true.
I do however own this plotline and any characters I create.
Elsa and Lyon took on the strongest of the trio: Asana.
Asana was arrogant, they could tell even from their first meet with the water mage. She had an air of superiority around her that was almost visible every time she bossed her two companions around. The second strongest mage in the guild, besides obviously the master Tytin, she had more power and control over the smaller underlings and minions. Coupled with the terrible one=liners and the revealing outfit that barely covered what Elsa wished it would (coming from a tradition of long skirts and dresses did that to a person), she made for the classic female bad guy.
Unlike her last battle, Asana now sported a set of pistol, each with a barrel of water attached to them. The liquid swirled in the clear, glass containers as Asana raised them at the two ice mages. "Well, I guess I'll be the one to take you guys down. Anyone want to go first? I promise the other's punishment will come soon after." She grinned when neither raised their hands, "Fine. I choose…" she seemed to think, pouting her lips as she cocked her hips to the left. Her attention snapped forward with her guns.
"I choose you!" She fired a stream of high-pressured water at Elsa's face, but Elsa dodged quickly out of the way, preparing herself for the battle with a fighting stance, hands poised in front of her in a fist as ice poured out.
Lyon jumped into action, quickly creating three ice hawks to attack Asana as she jumped forward to kick Elsa in the face. Elsa created a small flurry of ice crystals to blow Asana away from her while dodging another water stream from Asana.
"Water Magic: Whirlpool!" The water that had collect at their feet began to rise in swirl, taking chairs and cups with it, churning quickly into a large whirlpool. Other members of Loud Cicada fell in, being sucked up in the pull of the water, but with a quick flick of her wrist, Elsa had frozen the water in its tracks, along with the underlings inside. The glare that Asana gave her meant that her gesture was not appreciated.
"Ugh. You really need to stop dong that! Water Magic: Jetstream!" water burst from the frozen whirlpool and slapped Elsa across the room, sending her crashing thru the wall. Lyon's concentration on the battle in front of him wavered as he turned back to glance at his fallen teammate who was struggling to recover from her hit.
"Elsa!" A wall of water stretched in front of him, sealing him off from Elsa as Asana continued to squeeze water from the pistols in her hand at him.
"Pay attention to me, sweetheart. Ms. Ice can go die in a ditch, you're paying attention to me. Water Magic: Rising Tides!"
The water mage seemed a bit more tired, but she remained strong as the water inside the barrier began to rise, coming closer to Lyon's chin by the second. Asana floated on the water, standing on top of it as she laughed at her opponent.
"What? Can't swim ice boy? Too bad you picked the only water mage in the room to duel against!" she grinned again as Lyon struggled to avoid drowning.
"Ice Make:…" he coughed out a bit of water, "…Spear!" A spear of ice appeared over Lyon's head, knocking into Asana and sending her tumbling into the water. The loss of concentration made the water start to recede, allowing Lyon to finally put his feet back on solid ground.
"Ice Make: Cage!" The crystalline cage surrounded the water mage, freezing together and shining almost blindingly. Lyon could hear his teammates' grunt and chants in the corner of his mind as they fought with the other mages of the guild. Asana pointed her water guns at the bars of the cage, using the room temperature water to break out a bit of the bars.
He noticed that her mascara and eyeliner had begun to run down her face, dripping onto the water-covered floor. She saw him staring at her face and quickly turned to assess her image in a nearby icicle. When her eyes settled on the streaks of blue and black that ran down both her cheeks, she screamed.
"Once I'm out of here, ice boy, you're dead meat. You hear me? Dead meat!"
What water mage didn't wear water-proof makeup?
Elsa groaned as she picked herself up from the wooden floor, her head pounding as she tried to focus on something other than the pounding headache. She could see Lyon out of the corner of her blurry eyes, and could hear Sherry and Yuka's shouts from far in front of her. She prepared to help her teammates before a voice stopped her from advancing.
"Well, Miss… Elsa, was it? It's nice to know you have some fight left in you. I was hoping you would fight me for a change rather than my lowly minions who can't hold a battle for their life."
Elsa gasped and turned her head sharply. Tytin, the leader of the Loud Cicada guild was standing behind her, his skin like steel that reflected every ray of light that touched him, temporally blinding the former princess. His clothes were immaculate, not dirty like the other guild mates, and his hair looked like it was plastered to his face.
He looked a metal statue that the old kings of the regions around Arendelle used to put up to show there superiority over the general masses.
"Would you be so kind as to fight me now? I've been waiting too long for any reasonable challenge. Not that you'll be that good since you lost to my four best, whose magic don't even come close to mine."
Elsa took a step back from the mage, only for him to step forward.
"I actually don't fight much. You could ask my teammates if you wish, but I don't-"
"No, we'll be fighting now. I want you all out of my guild now, and since my minions aren't competent enough to finish the job quickly, I will have to pick up their unfortunate slack."
She quickly dodged a steel punch nearing her face.
"You know, you have gained the interest of one of my guild's common employers." Tytin aimed another strike to Elsa's head, "I wouldn't know why, though. You seem too weak to be hanging about that kind of crowd."
Elsa ducked and weaved again, her feet splashing the water that was flooding the first floor.
"Will you please stop attacking me? I don't want to-"A strong kick to her left side sent her across the floor.
Tytin walked towards her slowly, skin shifting to a lighter grey, "You can't hope to beat me. I can change my skin to whatever material I want; metal or not. There's no hope for you to win against me." As he grew nearer and nearer Elsa could begin to feel the cold of her powers from the edges of her fingertips.
She needed to get out of this fast. Elsa began to back away, keeping her hands close to her body.
Don't let them in, don't let them see.
More cold on her fingers, a sarcastic laugh from opposite her, and a cry from Lyon in the background.
Be the good girl you always had to be.
Hans, Kai, Gretel, the Duke of Weselton.
Conceal, don't feel, don't let them know.
Mother…Father…Anna…
Well now they know.
Elsa let herself go for the first time in forever.
The fractals of ice spread across the floor like a wild fire: the water from Asana turning to shining patches of snow and ice that froze all in their places. All fights stopped as they turned to the source of the ice magic that seemed to throb with unsung power.
The remaining members of Team Lyon gasped.
Elsa stood at the epicenter of the explosion, her skin glowing a faint blue as steam and ice rolls from her fingertips into the air. Her being thrummed with hidden power and her magic was taking in every part of her being, threatening to swallow her whole for not using it in so long. The wind had picked up, swirling around their teammate and whipping her hair around. Snow had begun to fall inside the hall as windows and doors flew open with the cold breeze.
Asana's water had frozen in place, Aidan's fires iced over in an impossible feat of magic, and Carver's wood encased in sheets of ice like steel. No hope of any of the materials being moved existed.
Everyone in the guild was in shock: this girl, who had been afraid to use her powers before, was as in-tune with her magic as one of the Ten Wizard Saints
To Lyon, she looked utterly beautiful.
For the first time since he had met her, Elsa looked totally carefree. In that moment, it was like all that had been building up inside her from her emotions and her non-use of her obviously strong magic had left her body. She seemed at peace with everything in the world, and the look on her face would have made Lyon blush in an instant if she had been looking at him.
There must be something wrong with me… Lyon said to himself with his heart fluttering just a tiny bit.
Elsa felt a rush from her body: the magic that she had desperately tried to contain and keep had gotten free and there was nothing she could do but hope that no one was hurt too badly.
She muttered a quick prayer to whatever god was above and opened her eyes.
It was a more dangerous version of the fateful night when she first hurt her sister: when she gave her the white streak in her hair. The floor was covered, but sharp fractals stretched around people and their magical items: chairs, tables, and other elements were incased in clear ice.
She couldn't see any blood at the moment, which she guessed was a good thing, but-
"Well, miss. I didn't think you had something like that in you."
Oh right. Tytin.
"You've certainly got a lot of power inside that beautiful body of yours. It's a shame it scares you so much. You would've been great to have on my elite time." Tytin pulled a steel foot out of the ice, "Unfortunately, for ruining my hall, I'll have to punish you somehow." His hand morphed into a diamond fist while his chest grew to be some sort of alloy that Elsa couldn't place. The alloy seemed to glow, suggesting his was reinforcing his shape-shifting skin with his magic.
Alright, Elsa strategized; if I can keep him busy long enough, I can probably get him worn down to the point where he'll have to give up.
Elsa spent the next minutes dodging more diamond fists while trying to ignore the struggling sounds of the Loud Cicada guild as they tried to free themselves out of the ice.
"Ice, baby, can't you just give up and face your punishment already. I promise I'll make it extra painful for you, since you treated me so nicely before."
"This is really not helping your case, Tytin."
"Just thought I'd try, beautiful. Just thought I'd try."
More fists, more ducks.
"I'm sorry, but can we cut this short? As you can probably see I'm running short on one-liners to make this fight interesting." Tytin got a hit on Elsa's right shoulder, pushing her back as her shoulder stung with pain.
Tytin laughed, "Finally got one on you, sweetheart. Not so tough, now are you?" He went to hit her with his diamond fist, only to have his arm grabbed by Elsa. Her magical ice began to slowly creep around his body, encasing him like Carver's wood had been. The cold spread through his body faster and faster: feet, arms, and legs starting to fall numb to the thrumming cold.
Tytin's face was the only thing not covered when the magic had stopped spreading, and he stared at Elsa with a lecherous grin that made Elsa rolls her eyes in disgust. The skin-changer tied in vain to wiggle his body around in his ice casing, but could not seem to find the strength.
"I know we just fought and all, but would you mind freeing me? I-"
Elsa bashed him over the head with an ice at she had made almost instantaneously, knocking the former guild master out.
The rest of the Loud Cicada guild seemed to collapse from exhaustion as well, and when the authorities arrived to the scene of the altercation, the Loud Cicada guild had fallen asleep with their bodies still in ice and Team Lyon was still staring at Elsa with expressions of awe while she stared back with apprehension.
Hey guys,
Yeah. Hi. It's been a long time, I know, but I've been busy doing stuff at school, and in my personal life that I just didn't have time to write anything relatively okay. Of course I never forgot this story, but it took a while for me to scrape something up that I liked enough to give to you guys to read.
Of course, my chapters aren't the longest of the bunch, but I think this one was okay. My battle scenes are sucky, but I tried my best and I hope you guys can see that when you read it.
This story turned a year old a couple months back, so happy extremely-belated birthday to us I guess. It's been a year, but I still have the same amount of love and want to finish the story as I did when I started, just with a lot less time to write it in.
Anyways, I hope you all are good, and that you've had pretty okay lives in the time I've been MIA from the fanfic scene. I hope that your weekend is wonderful, and that the stars look down on you with good fortune.
I hope to see you all soon (when my lousy schedule permits me too),
~One
P.S. ~ All of you who reviewed, favorited, and followed: thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your words and attention helped push me through these last couples months till I had time to write, so thank you for inspiring me to just sit down and write once more.
