Epilogue

STARDATE2nd October 2262

Anna was waiting, extremely impatiently in med bay. A nurse was waiting with her. Anna was just glad that Leo was up on the bridge par James's request. Spock was also on the bridge. Spock had wanted to come with her, he wanted to know what was wrong. It had been his suggestion that Anna visited the medbay as she had been sick every morning now for five days. He had suggested going to the medbay on every single one of those five days and she had only, today, decided to heed his advice.

She had another minute to wait yet so she decided to cast her mind back. In the past two years and eight months so much had happened. The Enterprise was past halfway through its five year mission and they had already discovered multiple new planets and Ecosystems on their journey.

James had convinced Carol Marcus to go a date with him, which ended disastrously but James being James managed to turn it around and get Carol on a second date but nobody could understand how. Their relationship was hidden from a majority of the crew and the Admirals, for obvious reasons. It didn't look good when a Captain began a relationship with a member of his crew during a mission.

Spock and Anna had celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary. Anna couldn't believe that they had been married ten years already. It felt like barely anytime since they'd travelled straight from the graduation ceremony to Vulcan to get married in the traditional Vulcan way.

"Commander Kirk, it should be ready now" the nurse said to her.

Anna looked down to her hand, in which she held a pregnancy test.

It was positive.

She was going to have a baby! She was going to be a mom, and Spock a dad.

STARDATE24th April 2263

Anna stomach had grown, no swelled. It turned out between her and Spock they were much more fertile than they imagined. She was carrying twins. She'd already been taken off duty because she couldn't remain standing at her post for an entire shift. She was currently walking, no waddling, to the staff room where she was told Spock and James were having a chess match. Leo had comm'd her and told her that it would probably be best if she got down here to control them.

When she arrived there she saw the chess game was over and based on the grin James had on his face and confused expression on Spock's, she could only assume that James had somehow won the match.

"What's wrong Leo?" Anna asked.

"Your husband has just lost the right to name one of your children. Jim made him bet. If James won he got to name one of your children." Leo told her.

Anna turned to the two men in question, "excuse me, did I just hear that I couldn't even name my own child?" She growled out.

Both men stepped back slightly, they had obviously forgotten not to anger a pregnant woman. Neither said anything in response.

"Right, as you're not going to answer. James, you may offer suggestions for the name but you can not take away our right to name our children as we please, and to make Spock bet such a thing is disgraceful. And, Spock, how could you do such a thing? Even if you didn't want the joy of naming our children, you have not right to take away my chance to." Anna yelled at them, beginning quiet but slowly getting louder and louder and when she was finished she stormed out of the room.

Just as she left she heard Leo comment, "You two have some grovelling to do"

STARDATE1st June 2263

Anna lay on the medical bed, exhausted. After twelve long hours of labour, she'd finally brought two bundles of life into the world. Spock was stood next to her, holding her hand. His other hand was running through her hair in a loving gesture. James sat on the seat on her other side, watching Leo and his nurses fuss over the babies.

Leo, who delivered the babies brought one of them over, a nurse bringing the second.

Leo handed the one he had to Anna, the girl. The nurse handed the boy to Spock.

"Do we have some names for them?" Leo asked Anna, moving to stand beside James.

Anna nodded and glanced to the boy Spock was carrying. He looked almost identical to his father, with the typical Vulcan eyebrows and ears. He had his mother's blue eyes though.

"That is Christopher James Kirk." Anna said, looking up at the boy in Spock's arms. She heard James give a gasp of surprise and gratitude. She continued "And this, this is Amanda Georgina Kirk."

Amanda was almost a carbon copy of her mother, her hair, her eyes, her facial structure. The only difference is the pointed ears that belonged to her father.
