Chapter 11: Where is a Mon, Justimon Now?
Authors Note: I love how I kinda just left the others hanging in the human world. Let's check on them. Soccer scene is staying...ugh. I'm not crazy about it.
Edit Authors Note: Link, you have been playing soccer for over sixteen years. SIXTEEN YEARS. WHERE IN THE HELL DID YOU COME UP WITH NINE PLAYERS ON A FUCKING SOCCER FIELD!? WHERE!? ARE YOU FUCKING BLIND!? Jesus fucking Christ-okay, I'm done. I'm good. Deep breaths, in and out. In and out. Okay...okay, okay, okay. So, OBVIOUSLY there are eleven players on a soccer field. Not ten...and NOT NINE! But, we only have ten of our heroes here. So, we are going to say that in an fictional world-due to some bullshit rule-we can only have nine players on a field. So, I will take full responsibility that I somehow had the notion-you know what? I honestly don't know what I was smoking. NINE PLAYERS?! FUCK LINK- REALLY? God...I really hate this chapter. I really fucking do...
Kazu groaned. This was not going well! The battle against D-Kenta was harsh as he was quick, powerful, and ruthless. His main attack was his weird vines or whips that appeared instead of his arms that glowed blue. The solid red eyes gave everyone chills as he was mostly silent-save for a few cackles as he smashed Sakyuamon on the ground.
The battle took a turn for the worse when four copies of D-Kenta formed. Justimon was occupied with one, the fox shamen mega was busy with another, Kenta was trying to hold off one with MarineAngemon and that left poor Kazu and Gaurdromon with the final copy. Using the digimon cards, Kazu equipped the brown steel Champion with WarGreymon's shield to protect the attacks but they needed a plan.
Oh, maybe Justimon will find another way to go 'super mega mode!'. Long shot Kazu thought and briefly met with his day dream of being 'BlackWarKazumon'. Focus on the battle Kazu, he thought grimly. D-Kenta was lashing out at the shield Gaurdromon held up with vicious attacks.
"Kazu, this is not going to hold much longer I'm afraid. We must think of an action plan!"
"Working on it..." replied Kazu, gritting his teeth. Why can't Justimon just come and save the day? The guy was always so smooth and heroic-it was practically in his blood.
When the young brunette teen met Ryo Akiyama, he thought he was in a dream! The guy was a legend, a hero! He beat Rika in the digimon card tournament. That was something to brag about. Even when they found out during the D-Reaper Incident that Ryo can Biomerge with Cyberdramon into Justimon-it was even more amazing! Just what can this guy not do!? Kazu looked up to him a lot. Sure, Takato did save the whole group often, but Ryo just had this presence about him. It was complete confidence and natural leadership.
Kazu wished he had Ryo's leadership. It would be nice to give the orders around but no one would take him seriously. He was the class clown, a jokester. Who was he to break out of that shell? It seemed life had its own path for the Tamer.
The battle was going on for almost a half hour. The digimon could not keep up with this. Kazu noticed that Justimon was getting exhausted and was letting his guard down. Eventually, Kazu saw that Justimon made a grave mistake and turned his back briefly on the D-Kenta to look at Sakyuamon. Bad idea.
"Justimon!" called out Kazu as the digimon fell into the ground in a heap. The light burst from within the warrior digimon and Ryo was there screaming on the ground. His leg was bent out of shape and looked like it was broken. Cyberdramon got up slowly, hurt form the attack. Kazu paled and looked around. Now there were two D-Kazu's he had to worry about.
This was the Tamer's time to shine. Guardromon needed Kazu's help to Digivolve! Kazu quickly pulled out a card and cried,
"Digivolution! Ultra Mega Activate!"
Nothing happened. Of course not-he was holding a random Numemon card! Grumbling curses, his brown eyes casted on D-Kenta and launched his arms up to protect from the on coming attack. However, something saved him. Opening his eyes, he saw Hana there shooting some kind of gun. It made the D-Kenta hiss and back away preparing to battle the Hypnos Agent. Hana gave a little smirk as her partner-Yu shot another around from behind. Two was always better than one.
"Kazu are you alright?" Hana asked, not taking her eyes off the creature.
"Yea, I think so. Thanks." Kazu replied and charged towards Guardromon who was getting tossed like a rag doll. Hana shot a few rounds and turned to Kazu.
"Look, you need to believe in yourself. I can just tell you are worried about Ryo but sometimes, you gotta take over. You get me?" The small pep talk Hana gave Kazu made him frown. He needed to save Ryo now and he was the only one who can-everyone else was busy.
Time to shine, Kazu thought and with more confidence he pulled out a card and took another swipe.
Nothing.
"You piece of shit..." Kazu threatened and glared daggers at his brown D-Ark. Nothing told the teen that it was broken. Suddenly, he saw his digimon, Gaurdromon being picked up by D-Kenta and its vines wrapped around the android digimon tightly. It was going to rip him into shreds, Kazu thought horrified.
The thought of losing Guardromon was unthinkable! The two were so close now that he got to know Guardromon. They loved walking around, playing digimon, and even trying to sneak out of chores by making Guardromon doing them-which ended up in total disaster. Let's say that commanding the brown large android digimon to 'finish the laundry' meant to the digimon to smash it. Kazu's mom was not happy that day.
"Gaurdromon! You can do this dude!" Kazu called as he picked up a card. Without checking it, he swiped. If anyone was looking at the card closely, it was a blue card. A burst of light unfolded from Guardromon which made D-Kenta screech and throw him away.
"Gaurdromon Matrix Digivolve to….Andromon!"
In place was a tall, silver android. It was skinner and lankier than Gaurdromon but it was equipped with advanced technology on his arms and back. A silver half plate covered his face and showed one red cyborg eye, and the other one a dark brown eye.
Yu and Hana were thrown out of the field since their guns were empty and were no match for D-Kazu on their own. Kazu turned to the two D-Kentas and frowned.
"Ready big guy? Toss them."
"With pleasure Kazu! Now, time to finish this!" Andromon flew several missiles towards the copy of D-Kenta. The look alike of Kenta sneered and dodged the missiles and lashed out. Andromon blocked and looked at Kazu.
"Any ideas, my friend?"
Kazu looked around. Cyberdramon had rescued Ryo out of battle and went back in to deal with a copy of Kenta. Around the field there was not much to use. A few cars on the street were torn up from the beginning. Garbage cans were destroyed, traffic lights were completely obliterated, and the fire-hydrant was busted so water leaked out and around.
An idea sprung into Kazu's mind. Maybe...it could work.
"Andromon! Wait for my signal then use your Lightening Blade toward the water." With that note, Kazu threw some debris to D-Kenta and lured him towards the fire hydrant. Getting this thing soaked might do the trick...
"Hey, you look like you break mirrors often! How many have you broke? Like, a gazillion?" Kazu taunted and rolled out of the way before Kenta struck the hydrant spraying water on itself. Shrieking, D-Kenta tried shaking water off but Kazu gave the signal.
"LIGHTING BLADE!" The impact was great as the electrocution and the impalement caused the copy of D-Kenta to become the real D-Kenta. It started to dissolve into smoke.
"We got him!" yelled Kazu, punching his fist in triumph.
With a loud snicker the digimon went away in a puff of blue smoke. "You shall not get away with this. Master will be here soon..."
"What does he mean by that?" Real Kenta pondered, jogging up to Kazu. The brown haired boy shrugged.
"Who gives? Guardromon digivolved! That was so awesome!" Kazu started to imitate Andromon's moves and added several things such as Rika being the damsel in distress. This didn't last too long because once Rika found out about her being the distressed damsel, she gave Kazu a hard punch to the head.
The red head settled the assault and quickly left the battle to see Ryo. Renamon followed silently.
"Ouch, that hurts you know." Kazu muttered rubbing his head in attempt to soothe the pain. Rika was already gone.
"I hope the others are okay." chimed in Kenta, looking to the sky in worry.
"Pi pi." MarineAngemon nodded floating to Kenta's pocket and nuzzled inside.
Rika stopped as Yu and Hana picked up an injured Ryo. He cried out as his leg was flopping around-completely useless. The confidant Tamer grasped Rika's hand.
"Wildcat, don't sweat it, I'm okay."
"You do not look okay, Ryo." She replied worriedly. Glancing at Yu, she suggested they bring him to the Hypnos building and patch him up there. Hana nodded and the two Agents carried him inside. After a second, Rika followed in. She could not stand the idea of not knowing what was going on with him. Deep down, she cared for him and the idiot was going to get a earful when he was in recovery.
"Ryo Akiyama, the one stupid guy I have feelings for-gets himself hurt." Rika muttered crossing her arms. Renamon appeared.
"Your feelings are becoming stronger Rika, can you not spare him this time?"
A pause.
"Fine. I will spare him by letting him sleep. I will go give my two cents to Yamaki and hopefully we have an update on the others."
"I hope they are alright." Renamon pondered, walking with Rika towards the bottom floors where Yamaki was hanging around.
Back in the digital world, everyone sighed. It had felt like years since they started to travel in the digital world. Actually, it had only been four days. Suzie, Ai and Mako were surprised to hear that you never get hungry or really tired in the Digital World unless you felt like it. Lindy had, however but that did not stop her from moaning about 'Double Doubles' or bagels from a place called 'Timmies'. No one felt like having her explain it-they had accepted the strange Canadian's ramblings since the defeat of the D-Twins.
"...Oh, and poutine! God, I never thought I would miss Quebec cheese curds..." whined Lindy the one night, while they talked about what they were going to eat when they got home. The twins gave a strange look.
"What's poutine, Lindy?"
"It's french fries with cheese and gravy..." Impmon replied, making a face. "It's freakin' disgusting."
"You're just jealous that us Canadians make the best food." teased Lindy.
"Right, jealous." Impmon rolled his eyes. "Toots, remind me never to eat anythin' from ya country. I don't wanna catch whatever ya got."
"Takatomon, I want to try poutine." whined Guilmon. Takato gave a look to Lindy,
"C'mon, stop it. You're making Guilmon hungry."
"But you told us that we don't get hungry." Lindy replied. "Anyway, you guys don't have proper cheese curds, it would taste horrible."
The group returned to Baihumon and reported everything was taken care of. Zhuqiaomon was thankful-and by thankful he grunted a thanks and flew off.
"He's always so thankful." Terriermon sarcastically mumbled to Henry.
The tiger told the group to jump on his back to travel to his sector of the digital world.
"Be careful, children," warned Azulongmon, who's wispy, white beards floated around the children and placed them on Baihumon. "The west world is different from everywhere else. It copies that of the human western world in it's cities, attitudes, and environment. I suggest if you are lost, then Lindy may be of help."
With those parting words, they departed to the western digital world. At first, it was only grass fields and a forest, but the group quickly saw what the dragon digimon had meant. Beyond the forest, Baihumon dropped them off at the edge of the forest saying this was where he saw Jeri taken into the city and towards the old colosseum.
"Thank you, Baihumon. We appreciate the help." Takato said putting a hand on the tiger Digimon.
"You are welcome. Be careful. My world is different-heed Azulongmon's words."
The group looked at awe towards the city. It was almost like New York! Tall skyscrapers, loud noises, digimon everywhere. Not just rookies, and champions-but ultimate's and even megas were seen! The metal buildings were near replicas of the ones in the western city, climbing toward the sky to engulf its citizens. Lights flashed everywhere, sparkling like bright diamonds. Digimon all were doing their own thing. The group entered carefully. It would be easy getting lost in the size of a city like this.
"Code City." Impmon whispered in English. Ai and Mako looked over and asked him to repeat. He shook his head.
"Uh-I heard about this place. You two have to stay close and whatever ya do-do not wander. I ain't gunna have two kids runnin' around a city on their own. Ya got me, guys?"
"Yes, Impmon." the two replied, holding his hands and giggled.
"Impmon...is that English signs?" Lindy asked slowly, pointing to a welcome sign.
Welcome to Code City: The City of Code and Collection
"Yep, sure is toots. It's like your home-includin' the people."
Lindy clicked her tongue.
"This is more American-hardly what you call 'my people'."
"Canada is right beside the United States, Lindy. It is pretty close." Henry mentioned. Lindy shrugged.
"True, but we still have our differences."
Everyone else looked at the signs with confusion and let out a long sigh. Of course there was no Japanese text. With their limited English skills, they were at mercy to Lindy and Impmon. Ai and Mako were just learning how to read, and Suzie would have no idea what the alphabet in English looked like.
"We trust you guys, don't worry." Guilmon said, patting Lindy on the back. Terriermon popped out behind.
"Not like you're going to lead us in the dark alley or anythin'-wait on second thought..." Terriermon trailed off before he could get hit from Impmon. He glared down.
"Why, don't ya give ya mouth a rest, stupid bunny? At least I got an idea where to go, unlike you."
Terriermon and Impmon bickered for a few minutes as they walked in. Digimon were also dressed oddly too. Some were in colourful garbs, other in black clothing, and finally just their regular clothing. A few of the machine Digimon acted as stores or vendors. The humanoid Digimon were walking briskly, needing to be somewhere. Rookies ran around listening to loud rap music. A few ultimate's were lurking in the dark allies-waiting for someone to slip up and become their prey. Lindy made a mental note to keep an eye out for those types-there was sure to be more around...
"...And another thing! Why you gotta get so weird around Lindy like-are you in love-"
"Hi, can I help you guys?" asked a digimon. It was small green slime digimon with googly eyes popping out and taking a good look around the group. Since he only spoke English, Lindy had to do the talking. Impmon was standing on top of Terriermon trying to argue with Henry while Ai and Mako were trying to reason with him. Figures.
"Right, um, we are looking for the-uh-Colosseum. Can...you tell us how to get there?" Lindy was a little forgetful with her English. It was strange-she must have been speaking for so long in Japanese, that her English cut out for a second. Now recollecting her alphabet, her vocabulary and her words, she was confident it would not happen again.
"Right, you see-you just go straight down Code Street-that's our longest street you know. You take a left at Maxis Avenue and after the restaurant with the pink umbrella, you take a right at Digi Lane. Can't miss it. By the way, that will be five Digi dollars." The green slime digimon held out a 'hand' as it was just a goop of green slime that hardly resembled a hand. Lindy took a step back, grossed out.
"Uh, well, we don't have any Digi dollars. I'm sorry."
"Sorry? Sorry you don't have any Digi dollars?" The digimon let out a roar of a laugh causing everyone to stop and stare for a few seconds-including Impmon and Terriermon. The slime digimon moved closer to Lindy, making her feel very uncomfortable, "Well, I never seen such a polite Impmon like you-usually you're kind are very rude."
"My kind?" Lindy repeated. "Uh, I'm really sorry-."
Terriermon growled and jumped in front of Lindy, who was rubbing her gloves nervously. She was getting more and more uncomfortable talking to the strange digimon.
"Hey! What's a slime Numemon like you doing here? Scram before I blast you out of here." Terriermon's threat made no sense to the Numemon since he was yelling in Japanese. He gave a weird look and faced the bunny.
"Ew, you're some southern digimon-shoo! We don't take your kind here. I was speaking to this lady about maybe selling me her humans in exchange for the directions."
"Excuse me, my what?" Lindy asked shocked. Impmon came up beside her crossing his arms-unimpressed. The others were confused by the exchange but could tell Impmon was quickly becoming annoyed.
"Those guys would be worth plenty! I'll give you a thousand Digi Dollars-no two thousand Digi Dollars! Just let me have them!" the Numemon's tongue slimed all over himself and Lindy let out a shriek,
"Gross!"
Suzie stood behind Henry unsure of the situation but subconsciously grabbed his hand. Ai and Mako drifted closer to Takato who put an arm around them. He didn't like the way the Numemon was looking at them.
Impmon decided enough was enough. Changing into Beelzemon in a flash, he grabbed the Numemon and brought him close. A monster like snarl erupted from his sharp fangs.
"Listen ya little shit. First, no one touches the humans. Second, you gunna get no money and lead us exactly to this Colosseum. Finally, if your pretty little boys over there decide to follow us, I'll make sure none of them live-ya got that?" Beelzemon's eyes flashed a dangerous red to creep out the Numemon more making it whimper and whine. With little resistance, the green digimon made a signal to the mysterious digimon in the alley that Lindy had noticed and told the group to follow him.
Lindy walked up to Beelzemon after making sure everyone was accounted for and that they do not touch anything. Walking along side, she made a remark,
"You noticed those gang members too?"
A laugh replied to Lindy,
"Right away toots, I know trouble when I see it. Can't believe you apologized to him. "
Lindy blushed brightly,
"It's a Canadian thing, okay? We are apologetic for everything."
"Explains a lot." he muttered.
Takato asked later what the whole situation was about. After Beelzemon explaining, the group grew pale. Digimon wanting humans as slaves? That was a bizarre thought. Lindy added to it.
"I am not surprised a place like this has its dark secrets. Let's just get Jeri and get out."
The group determinably kept the Numemon in track and after passing the restaurant with the pretty pink umbrella-where barely clad Lilymon were serving, they arrived at the Colosseum. However, it was more like-
"-A stadium." whispered Lindy, gripping Mako and Ai's hands. She walked with them making sure Ai wouldn't stray or any digimon would lure them away. Strangely, the twins didn't even put up a fight. Something told them that getting lost in Code city was very bad.
The Numemon vanished after Beelzemon told him to 'scram'. The group took in the Colosseum. Debating on going in or not was now the topic. It looked like no one had used it in ages, even with Cody City right beside it. Henry was apprehensive, while Takato seemed all for it. Suzie pleaded with her big brother just to check it out for a few minutes.
"Fine, but only a quick peak." Henry agreed.
"Wow, this looks like those Roman buildings." called Lindy as she ran inside.
The place was made of stone and sand. Dark browns and light crème colours filled the arena, making it feel ancient. The ground was overwhelmed with sand that drifted to the far corners-building up into dunes. Seats were endless, expanding to the skies, and enclosing all around. The details on the walls were once beautiful patterns but it was lost in time. What stood here was now a ruin.
"It seems safe enough." said Takato with a uneasy smile. Henry looked around, expecting some sort of ambush.
"Ai, Mako look at all this sand! It's like a beach!" Suzie called out. The twins joined Suzie trying to make castles or designs in the sand. Lindy and Lopmon watched over them silently.
Looking at the field, Beelzemon recognized something, and he frowned at the lines. They were almost like the soccer field that Lindy played on.
"Lindy! Have ya checked out the field?" Beelzemon asked.
"I noticed, but so what? It's not like there is a ball-wait a minute." She stopped staring at the seats behind Beelzemon. "Why is there a ball suspiciously bouncing behind you?"
Everyone stared at the ball. It was simple black and white soccer ball that was simply bouncing in one spot until it started to bounce towards the middle of the field and stopped on the centre dot, motionless. It was like a magnet suddenly pulled the ball in the middle of the field.
"Alrighty then," said Lindy, grabbing Mako and Ai's hand and leading them down towards the field. Stepping on the ground made her feel like she was going to play the game. Her heart beat faster and forced herself to calm down. It was just a ball.
"What's a soccer ball doing here?" asked Henry staring down at it. Suzie asked if she could play with the ball, but Takato told her no.
"Don't you see something like this happens in certain movies? We touch it and before you know it half of us are like-dead or something. I suggest we get out of here now." Takato explained and Guilmon nodded. Those two were experts with horror movies.
"I don't like this either. C'mon-munchkins, let's get out of here." Beelzemon narrowed his eyes at the ball and shook his head.
The rest of the group marched away from the field no longer thinking about the simple ball. Suzie tugged Henry.
"Takato doesn't really mean that we will die, right?"
Henry chuckled giving Suzie a hug,
"Takato is just hallucinating, but I would stay away from that ball. It looks too suspicious.
Guilmon muttered something about it did really happen in a movie but no one really heard it. Takato suddenly stopped abruptly and stepped back. Ai, Mako and Beelzemon did the same.
"Hey, what gives?" Takato grunted walking into it again, but it stopped him. It was like a force field. The sinking feeling started to take notice in everyone's stomachs. Oh no...
"Let us out!" cried Ai, bashing the wall. Everyone noticed and started to do the same. It wasn't working.
"I don't think it's listening!" said Beelzemon as he stepped back and took out one of his guns. "So let's knock a little louder!"
"This would be an advisable time for everyone to stand back." Lindy said, grabbing Mako and Ai before Beelzemon started to shoot. As if the wall was water, the bullets went through the wall and shot far off into distance.
"I don't think it's working." Terriermon said, scratching his head.
"No really?" Lindy replied and lit several fires with her hands. "Badaboom!"
"That won't work either!" called a voice. It seemed childish and young. The group turned around and saw a girl around eight or nine. She had long black hair covering her face but she was wearing what Suzie was wearing exactly-white capris, and a pink and white shirt with sandles.
"You must play a game to get out..." the creature called walking towards them as several blue smoke like creatures followed her. The others took a step back until they were pressed against the walls. "...and there are rules to follow."
"Sorry, I ain't one for playing by the rules." smirked Beelzemon, cocking his gun and aiming at her. She pointed her slim finger at him and next thing he knew, he was back to his rookie form, with no guns.
"Why, I outta-hey what's going on? Why can't I digivolve?" Impmon look at himself and stood in front of Ai and Mako fists raised. "I can still beat ya blindfolded!"
"Silly goose." She whispered back. Henry and Takato both pounded the wall. It was no use. That agent had complete control.
"I want you to play a soccer game against me and my friends. If you win you can go," D-Suzie explained dancing a little. Sure was happy for a psychotic replica of Suzie. "But if you loose, you will have to play with me forever!" she started to laugh and skip around the ball. Her hair started to get lighter until it was a bright pink with light curls. Her eyes stayed the same but her outfit turned into a dark pink soccer shirt with pink and white shorts. Her sandals were now light pink soccer shoes with black socks. The group had to guess if she was wearing shin pads-they would be , very much like Suzie.
"A soccer game, eh?" asked Lindy smirking an evil smirk just like Impmon. "Oh, you so picked the wrong game."
"I agree with Lindy. You're messing with the wrong people." Takato said adjusting his goggles and grinning. This was a sitch! With Lindy, himself and Henry who played lots of soccer, they were going to be laughing. Just how bad can this little girl be?
"It doesn't look like we have much of a choice." Henry said, pounding the wall again for a last hope. He turned around to the Agent in defeat.
"We'll give you two minutes. You can only have nine players on the field. Good luck and remember no hands!" D-Suzie left along with the other creatures behind her towards the other side of the field. Takato shook his head and sighed,
"Okay, let's see how many are here…one..two...nine...ten so who wants off? We can only have nine players max on the field."
"I want Suzie off." Henry said. Takato nodded and understood Henry's protective nature for his sister. She was just a child. This made Lindy and Impmon look to the twins.
"Ai, Mako, you two okay being on?" Lindy looked up at the twins who nodded. They looked more excited to play a game of soccer. "Okay how about you play midfield along with Impy. Henry and Terriermon, and Lopmon can play defence. Takato-Gulimon, you guys play forward, and I will be the keeper. Everyone knows how to play, right?"
Some nodded, others shrugged while Ai, Mako and Impmon smirked. Lindy taught them pretty much everything she knew and they were quite well at the game. The other team was no match.
"Takatomon, how do you play soccer?" Takato was about to answer, but suddenly everyone was in their positions with blue soccer shirts and blue and black shorts. They were slightly baggy so they could feel the soft air that blew.
"Uh, what just happened?" Henry asked looking at his outfit. Terriermon shrugged.
"Momentai, Henry."
On the other side, D-Suzie was the forward with robed figures at every other position. Everything was quiet until a whistle blew from no where.
Takato took this as his que and passed the ball to Gulimon who picked it up.
"I still don't get how to play-ah!" He was electrocuted by the ball and dropped it as fast as he could. However, this gave the other team a chance to steal the ball. They were about to weave through Ai but Mako, but they suddenly caught the ball due to their height.
"Mako!"
The ball passed to Ai's feet and she weaved through one of the robbed figures.
"Ai!"
The passing pattern continued until they were facing the goalie that quickly scooped the ball up effortlessly. Aide from that, the twins were really good at working together.
"Good try guys! Hey pineapple head-get back in the game will ya?" Impmon shouted, head butting the ball to Takato who started to run with the ball. The figure took it out of his feet and sped down the field with the ball. The cloaked figure was getting ready to shoot on Lindy.
Snap, thought Lindy as she got ready to pick a side. These guys were quick and knew how to handle the ball. It was soaring in the air and Lindy chose left. It soared the opposite way and landed right into the net. As Lindy landed on the ground, she felt electricity run through her body and she screamed loudly. Looking up, she found everyone else expect Suzie on the ground twitching. It wasn't as bad as the pain when she was first changed but it was awful. She couldn't imagine how the others were feeling.
"Henry! Terriermon! Lopmon!" Suzie screamed. She looked terrified and felt useless sitting on the side lines. She couldn't even get on the field to check on her brother.
"We have to be careful from now on. A goal scored on us can mean a painful shock." Henry called out to everyone who sat up slowly. Henry glared daggers at the evil Suzie who was laughing at them. This torture was disgusting. The ball rolled back to the middle and the invisible whistle sounded. Time to start again. Takato passed back to Mako.
Lindy looked up at the scoreboard which read 1-0 with only 10:00 minutes on the clock left. But an invisible whistle blew suddenly,
"Half time! Two minute break!" called out a voice out of nowhere. Everyone slumped to the ground completely exhausted.
"Did we seriously play a full half game?" Lindy asked herself.
"C'mon guys, over here!" Terriermon called everyone over to where Suzie was and they all sat down.
"Is everyone generally alright? Did anyone hurt their leg or arm?" Henry asked. Silence told him that no one did.
"That's a relief. What are we doing to do? We can't change and these guys are tougher than they let on." Henry glared at the evil D-Suzie.
Lindy spoke up, "Lopmon," the brown digimon snapped her head. "Can you go in net? I'm going up along with Impmon while Gulimon is going defence and Takato can go midfield. If it's alright with you guys." Lindy felt that changing the positions was needed. If there was anyone that could change in forward-it was her.
Takato smiled, "You know this game, Lindy. We don't have any other ideas. Just don't screw up okay?"
The dark blue digimon smiled. "I'll try not to. We can do this."
Everyone heard the whistle blow and they were suddenly in the new positions in seconds. Suzie was still on the bench cheering them on.
The whistle blew and they began to play. Lindy moved the ball and moved to the left while Impmon took over the ball and moved on the opposite side of the field.
"Impmon man on!"
"High!"
High meant a high ball, as he flicked it up to Lindy. She caught it with her chest and moved forward. She preformed a rainbow over a figure's head and bounced it down with the heel of her foot. Lindy turned around and ran to the middle of the net for a shot. She sailed the ball and Impmon headed it…GOAL!
"Awesome job, Impy!" She high fived him and jogged to her original position. Now, things were looking better.
"Wow, she wasn't kidding when you said she was good." said Terriermon in awe. Takato grinned,
"She always talked about how much she played back home."
The game began again and the cloaked figures pushed Lindy and Impmon away before dribbling the ball down the field. Angry, Lindy felt her hand burning and pushed her rage out into an attack.
"Badaboom!" cried Lindy, sending a fireball towards the player and it was knocked down. Nothing happened that dealt with a whistle or shock and the game resumed with Henry kicking the ball towards Lindy once it rolled towards the Tamer.
"It didn't count!" she shouted passing back. "Guys, use your attacks to get rid of these guys." Lindy turned and received the ball but before controlling it she was kicked in the face and was sent down harshly.
"You okay, toots?" asked Impmon holding out a hand and Lindy took it. She felt her face blister in pain. Determination and a hint of rage shook within her like a earthquake. With unbelievable speed she stole the ball and laughed harshly.
"Yeah, that's what I thought. You really shouldn't mess with a queen of soccer!" she flew down the field.
"Watch out!" Mako cried. Lindy suddenly bent backwards, barely missing a punch to her face and moved the ball to the outside left avoiding more attacks.
"They're attacking me!" she slid with the ball on the ground to avoid a swift kick and a stomp from the black figures. This was becoming challenging!
"Pryo Sphere!" called Guilmon, blasting one away. The whistle didn't voice, so Gulimon continued to blast them down for Lindy to have a clear view. Halfway past the other team's defence, D-Suzie came into play and with speed and fancy footwork, knocked Lindy and took the ball for herself.
"My turn!" D-Suzie called, taking the ball swiftly and sprinted to the net.
"She's going to shoot!" Lindy screamed and charged the little girl but it was too late. The ball soared and was aiming for the net!
Lopmon stood her ground and had a determined expression. Her brown ears were held out as large gloves-ready to make the save. The digimon caught the ball and was almost having a battle with it since the kick was so strong. Even a trail of fire and smoke was left from the shot. Takato, Henry, Ai, Mako, and Lindy were all aghast. If that had hit them...who knows what would have happened.
"C'mon Lopmon you can do this!" Suzie called waving her arms she was smiling as Lopmon caught the ball and it settled in her arms. Suzie cheered brightly.
"Thanks Suzie! Lets get this goal and get out of here!." The bunny digimon shouted and used her big ears to throw the ball to Ai. She head butted it to Takato who dribbled and passed to Impmon in the middle who passed to Mako who was right at the net. Lindy and Impmon smirked while lighting their fingers.
"Badaboom!"
Twelve fires were lit all around the soccer field and all of the other players were caught in it. Mako shot and it was going to go in…the ball hit the cross bar! Ai jumped forward to deliver the final blow. She kicked it into the bottom corner and the goalie dived…it was in!
"Oh my God-YES!" Lindy cried hugging Impmon as the buzzer sounded. Impmon couldn't care less that he had a stupid grin on his face they won the stinking game!
"Did we win, Takatomon?" asked Gulimon. Takato was looking at the now depleting barrier around the field. Smiling, Takato nodded and asked if he was ready to Biomerge.
In seconds Gallantmon, MegaGargomon, Antylamon, Beelzemon, and Hopemon were all facing D-Suzie.
"No fair! You cheated!" screamed the evil agent who started to turn black. Her hair turned into wavy wisps of black smoke as well as her body. Pretty soon everything of her was black expect her dark pink eyes. A hiss surprised the group.
MegaGargomon finally spoke up,
"We worked together, that's what we did. Now, where is Jeri?"
A hiss of a reply was answered.
All of the digimon used their attacks.
"I'm sorry, Master! Please avenge me!" she screamed, being engulfed in the blast. A white light aftermath was surrounding the whole stadium. Another barrier seemed to be up and within it there was a certain girl asleep in a cage.
Gallantmon raced across the field in lightening speed. Breaking the cage gently, the white knight picked up Jeri. Others rushed in, asking if she was alright. Within seconds, Jeri slowly started to wake up.
"I was wondering when you guys would show up." A smile came from Jeri's lips and she turned out to be fine. Jeri was fine. As the group settled down, Jeri explained that while she was kidnapped she was put in a cage and D-Reaper tried to get her to talk. However, Jeri kept silent and D-Suzie was in charge of keeping her safe.
"That program is not going to be happy." Terriermon smiled hugging Jeri. "We got Jeri back and took out some of her Agents."
"Well, I dunno about you guys but we should get going. In the north, where we should be near the forest, if I'm right." Lopmon said and looked at the other digimon. Impmon made a noise, and Guilmon gasped in realization.
"Right-our village!" Guilmon said, looking into the far off distance.
