Last time, on Luster the Cat...

Goku and Gohan tried to fight the mysterious one, but ultimately failed. At a key moment, Piccolo arrived and offered to assist them, albeit even with the Namekian's help, nothing had succeeded in spite of the fact that even Vegeta had joined the fight. So, it was eventually decided for Super Saiyan 3 Gogeta to be reborn. Be that as it may, Gogeta couldn't even do the job.

When he was most likely about to be killed, Goku came up with a good idea - let Luster face Unknown. Both sides would enjoy the fight and Luster would have an advantage, being a Mobian and all. The offer to wait one day for Luster vs Unknown was agreed on, allowing everyone to return home, though Piccolo remained in the crater to watch Unknown.

As the Sons shared hope, the Master Emerald began glowing ominously.

We now come back to where we last left off!

A great mystery

With one final flicker, the Master Emerald returned to it's normal brightness and out came a shiny red ball, floating silently above it. Without a sound or interest about it, the mysterious red sphere shot off outside and into the distance, flying completely through walls, trees and anything that was in it's way.

Eventually, the magical redness made it to Dende's Lookout, where it hovered past Dende and Mr. Popo without a word or any kind of reaction. On the other hand, the guardian of Earth and his assistant watched it head into the temple.

"Mr. Popo, what is that?" Dende questioned, pointing towards the strange object. "Some sort of attack?"

"Not to my knowledge - I'm not sure what it is." Popo responded, also confused. "It seems to be travelling towards the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. Even so, it's not harming anything."

"I suppose you must be right. If it's not damaging the lookout or anything, then it can't be malicious, right?" Dende agreed, calming himself.

Mr. Popo didn't responded, only smiled in reassurance. Despite this, the look in his eye suggested he knew something Dende didn't. Like he had seen something the young one didn't.

"All will be revealed soon," he finally replied, turning back to face the view.

The red spiritual orb advanced down the curved hallways of the lookout's temple, reaching the correct door in no time. Without opening it, the ball phased right through it, appearing in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, but never stopping. It continued to hover through walls, until it got to the figure of Luster tearing up several training bags with simple, yet fluent punch and kick comboes.

Luster performed an horizontal aerial kick, followed by an uppercut and a vertical kick; slamming the bag into the ground during the process. Finishing this final one off, the cat fired a substantial ki blast to incinerate the training sack.

Man, I've gotten a whole lot stronger! If I've done this in a year, imagine what I'll be able to do in another year! I can't wait! the Mobian thought to himself, excited at the concept of being super strong. I gotta thank Goku for givin' me this Chaos Emerald, 'cause I've been using it a lot.

As he stared deeply into the emerald, unbeknownst to him, the orb disappeared, being replaced with an orange echidna and a water creature. The echidna tapped the cat on the shoulder, giving him a quick jump.

"Who are you two?" Luster asked, raising an open palm towards the orange one. "If you're bad, then I won't back down!"

The creature made of water extended an arm, preparing to defend his friend, though she did not want this.

"Chaos, it is okay. Lower your defences," the girl demanded.

Like a good friend, Chaos followed orders, retracting his arm. The name, on the other hand, attracted Luster's interest.

"Wait, what? Chaos?!" Luster continued, bewildered by the sudden appearance of the ancient guardian. "If you're Chaos, then you gotta be that echidna girl that was helpin' Sonic! What are you doing here?! How did you even get to this world, anyway?"

"To start, my name is Tikal, survivor of the Knuckles Clan's destruction. I am here to warn you of what is to happen when you leave this chamber," Tikal introduced herself, bowing in respect. "After the hedgehog restored Chaos' good heart, I sealed myself and Chaos into the Master Emerald, so we could live eternally and watch over the planet. When the emeralds were sucked into the dimension portal, we were forced along as well."

"Eggman..." grunted Luster under his breath. Boy wouldn't I give to show that guy what I've learnt...

Luster punched the ground in sudden anger - something he had not done before.

"Please, control your anger. I am in the know of your parents' death, and who the perpetrator is. A robot, created by Doctor Ivo Eggman. This did not mean he killed your family - it was more of an indirect murder," Tikal explained, reading the cat's memories.

Luster turned right around, now completely interested. He then questioned, "How do you know all this?"

"In short, magic. I can read your memories, Luster the Cat," Tikal added, lowering her hand that had a green energy radiating off of it. "The robot was frenzied. It's original programming was to kill Sonic the Hedgehog, but it got separated from it's squadron. This was when some...body came along and changed it's directives using some un-explanatory magic of some description. Somehow, my magic wouldn't allow me to get a clear view of the villain. 'His' was much more developed."

"So, it wasn't the robot?" Luster widened his eyes, as he learnt the truth. "That doesn't change my nightmares much, though. Is the one who reprogrammed the robot still alive?"

Tikal thought deeply for a moment, then responded with a word that warmed the warrior cat's soul.

"Yes," the orange girl answered, nodding. "But he is in another plane of existence. You cannot reach it by regular means."

"What does that mean?" Luster wondered, confused by the echidna's words.

"It means you cannot use a machine to reach it. Chaos Control will not work, either," Tikal replied, holding her chest in sorrow. "I am sorry. It must be terrible to hear this news."

Utter anger coursed through Luster. His ki charged violently, then gathered into a single point.

"NOOO! I WILL BE ABLE TO GET TO MY PARENTS!" Luster cried, releasing a burly, enormous ki blast, then dissipating it upon being calmed by his Chaos Emerald.

"You mustn't let anger control you, otherwise the path to your parents will not be clear," Tikal comforted, trying to calm the young one down.

Luster nodded, and collapsed in the amount of ki lost. He kept breathing in and out, said nothing and allowed a stream of tears to pour from his eyes. Sniffling, the Mobian managed to get out a question.

"Can I...can I at least - use the Dragon Balls?" the cat croaked, attempting to dry his tears.

"I am not aware of the scope of their power, so I cannot answer that question. You will just have to find out," Tikal implied.

A sudden surge of confidence poured into Luster's emotions, changing it to a mix of happiness and excitement. His waterworks dried up soon after.

"What?! That settles it! I'm gonna use the Dragon Balls to wish my parents back to life," Luster confidently emphasised, agreeing with the moronic idea.

"Perfect. I am glad you feel this way, Luster," Tikal smiled, happy to see another soul reverted from sadness. "Now, for your near future."

Luster stood up, listening.

"In approximately twenty hours, you will be tasked to fight an Adaptor, which is an alien race belonging to this world. Originally, your friends could not defeat him, even when combined. However, they are sharing hope - hope for your victory. Can you fufil that hope?" questioned Tikal.

"Yeah, of course I can," Luster nodded, continuing to be silent.

"There is something inside the Adaptor that Chaos and I recognise, though we cannot seem to exactly remember it. This isn't an Adaptor - it is something else that your friends seem to understand but not fully grasp," the ancient echidna stated, presenting a image of Unknown with her magic.

This sight sparked something inside Luster, but he did not react to it.

When the image disappeared, the cat felt confident.

"If Goku and everybody are countin' on me to beat this guy, then I'll do it! This is training for when I go back home, when Sonic, Tails and the others have to depend on me to defeat Eggman! I. Can. Do. IT!" grinned Luster, charging up an immense cyan aura.

"I can certainly feel power inside you, but you must spend a final year training as hard as you can, or else your fantasies will not come true," Tikal finished, supporting the cat. "Train, and anything you desire will come to you."

With the final vote of courage, Tikal and Chaos returned to spirit form, returning to the Master Emerald at the same speed as on their path to the chamber.

Alone, Luster felt confident. He felt powerful. Most of all, he felt he could do anything, so he started training again. This time, he trained harder and became more in depth and quick with his movements. Power was rising faster in the boy than ever before.

A hopeful training regime

Time passed. Goku, Goten, Gohan and Chi-Chi slept - Vegeta, Trunks, Bulma, Mr. and Mrs. Brief dozed, as did everybody on the planet; save for Piccolo and Unknown. They remained awake through the night, sitting on the rocky, hard Earth of the crater, just staring at each other. Anticipating. Expecting a movement from the other, playing a long waiting game.

Luster continued to train, eventually creating his own speedy and robust comboes using all kinds of strikes, barrages and blasts. His strength, speed and durability had increased dramatically - all this would not have happened from the information given to him by Tikal. The confidence, the satisfaction of knowing his new friends were backing him, just like in his home dimension...

It all added up to one heck of a strong warrior.

One heck of a sparring match

At the very next day, just twenty minutes until Luster had to depart from the time chamber and make history. During a final 'beating of the sandbags' session, he managed to wreck twenty bags with a single ki blast. Progress was surely made.

I can do it... Luster breathed in, charging his cyan ki aura around himself.

As he started encouraging himself, a pair of fine visitors entered the time chamber and attacked the Mobian out of nowhere.

"Charge!" Goten yelled, surrounding himself with yellow energy and boosted towards Luster.

He narrowly evaded the attack, but surely enough, that wasn't it.

"This is payback!" Trunks shouted, firing a ki blast.

Using Afterimage, Luster dodged the sphere without receiving damage.

"Whoa, you look taller!" Goten complimented, looking up.

Luster was now at least a foot taller than either of the boys - looks like strength and agility weren't the only things he ws training.

"I do? But I should be only nine..." Luster stated, remembering the years he had spent. "How old are you guys?"

"I'm...11," Goten counted, checking to see if his maths was correct. "Yeah, 11!"

"Then I'm 12. Man, I still can't believe a nine year old cat's taller than us!" complained Trunks, pouting. "Oh yeah, you've got about...seventeen minutes, I think? Yeah, seventeen minutes until you gotta leave."

"That's why we're gonna see the apples of your training!" Goten exclaimed, getting a word wrong.

"No, Goten...it's 'fruits' of your training. Not apples," Trunks corrected, lowering his ki level.

Luster was intruiged, but also confused.

"Why are you lowering your power, Trunks?" Luster questioned.

Trunks grinned. "Because, you're gonna fight both of us...at once! Literally!"

"Huh?" Luster and Goten both wondered, confused.

Quickly, the younger half-Saiyan realised what his best mate meant.

"Oh!" Goten realised, hopping to his friend's side.

The boys stood a metre apart, and got into a series of stances that made no sense to the Mobian, but perfect sense to the more human-like boys.

"Fu-sion-HA!" they both chanted as they 'danced' their way next to each other, each transforming into a bright light and merging.

As the boys combined, a new person took their place. A fierce warrior.

"It's Gotenks!" Gotenks introduced himself, standing in his base form. "The best fusion ever!"

"Whoa!" Luster drawled, shocked by what he had just seen. "What was that?!"

"Fusion. It's a technique that allows two people of similar powers to be combined. Just have two guys do the same dance as we did, then you'll have your own fusion in no time!" Gotenks grinned, wiping his nose in smugness. "But nothing that can ever be created will be as mighty as me! Come on, I'll take you no problem!"

Gotenks charged forward, putting all his ki into a single punch. Luster used a Spin Jump to evade and bop the Fusion on the head, landing safely behind him.

Luster fired a ki wave, though in response, Gotenks kicked it upwards and fired his own Burning Kamehameha attack. Using Afterimage, Luster dodged and combated with a kick to the face.

The sparring match went on, blazing past minutes with an explosive farce. Gotenks and Luster were unable to recall exactly what attacks they had used, as they stood hunched-over, breathing in and out again and again. When they were able to speak, a wave of realisation hit the pair of them.

"Ah!" both of them admitted, kicking themselves because they had not realised so earlier.

They looked at the clock on the temple - only five minutes left for Luster.

"We gotta get out!" Gotenks shouted. "Come on! Right now!"

"Okay!" Luster nodded, following the Fusion out of the time chamber.

The fighters ran through the door at full speed, finally returning to Earth.

Time wasters

Upon reaching the lookout, Gotenks de-fused into Goten and Trunks. With the speed the trio were going at, no wonder why they were absolutely exhausted, especially from a match like earlier.

"That emerald sure does help, huh?" Trunks stated, as he stopped panting.

"Yeah...that's only one, though. Just imagine what I can do with all seven!" boasted Luster, folding his arms and acting smug.

As the cyan cat took in all the attention he possibly could from the two boys similar to his age, a taller male appeared in front of the three.

"Hey, Luster! How was your training?" Goku asked, having used Instant Transmission to get to the lookout.

"Good! I feel so strong...like I can do anything!" Luster answered, grinning.

"Great! How did your spar with Gotenks go?" the older Super Saiyan continued. "You look much older!"

"Very good! Thank you, Goku! I feel older..." was the cat's answer. "Do you need me?"

"Yeah, actually. We need you to take on a new enemy. He's called Unknown and-"

Before Goku could explain Unknown's strengths and weaknesses, Luster had interjected.

"I know. Tikal told me!"

"Who's that?"

"An old echidna girl from my world. She helped us during the Chaos incident."

"Oh, cool! That saves me a lot of explanation and time! Lemme I.T ya to your fight, then."

Luster nodded, and held the Saiyan's arm. Goten also grabbed onto his daddy's leg, and Trunks grasped his best pal's arm.

"You ready, Luster?" Goku asked, raising two fingers to his forehead. "Ready for your first proper match?"

"Ready as ever!" Luster replied, giving Goku the signal to teleport to the battlefield.

Goku focused on the ki of his friends - most of whom were atop the crater, the support ones were in a plane above it. Going for the stronger energies, he quartet of warriors had teleported away from the lookout, leaving tension deep in Mr. Popo and Dende's minds.

So, it begins

Literally in an instant, the teratology of heroes appeared before friendlies.

"Here we are. Piccolo's been keeping watch on him for a day," Goku revealed to Luster, letting Goten and Trunks take their places on the crater.

The cat looked into the crater, seeing exactly what he had been told. Piccolo was sitting face-to-face with some weird black-light blue guy. What really struck as odd to Luster, were the spines on the dark body's back.

"Those spines! They belong to a Mobian!" Luster notified, jumping straight into the crater without a secondary thought and leaving his cyan Chaos Emerald with the Saiyans.

"Well, there he goes," Goku whispered to himself, picking up the dropped emerald and chucking it towards the others.

A familiar face walked up - a short one, at that.

"Goku! You really think we can place our faith in that guy?" wondered Krillin, watching the Mobian walk up to the scene.

"Yeah. If things go south, we can just rely on those gems over there," replied Goku, pointing to the left.

"If you say so, Goku, then I believe you!" Krillin exclaimed, turning to completely watch the upcoming scene. This fight's gonna be interesting. Very interesting...

Lying in wait

In the crater, the sun's hot, beaming rays made the climate around the rocky region rather scorching. It was like a desert, but the heat wouldn't get to anybody. Not to Piccolo, not to Unknown, not to Luster.

Before very long, as Luster approached the duo, Piccolo stood up.

"He's all yours," the Namekian proclaimed, joining the crowd.

"Thanks, man," Luster thanked, turning to face the darkness that loomed the upcoming battle.

One air blew between the experienced fighters. Luster stood opposite Unknown; vice versa. Each 'person' waited...and waited, just so somebody would speak.

Unknown broke the everlasting silence.

"You're a Mobian? Interesting, but you're not really a Mobian, aren't you?" Unknown started, folding his dark arms.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Luster returned, clenching his two fists. "Just what are you?"

"Don't worry about it. Just think of those words as your last, Luster."

"I could just say the same thing about you, Unknown."

Another gust of wind shot between the twosome.

"You're cocky. It seems Sonic has rubbed off on you, but you have the smarts of Tails. Don't you find that...odd?" Unknown stated.

What he had just said caused the Mobian cat to grit his teeth.

"How do you know who Sonic and Tails are? Answer me, or I swear this match will be your finale!" Luster threatened, not knowing what this guy meant.

"Let's just say...a big birdie told me," Unknown mocked, firing a basic red energy ball.

Luster deflected it with ease.

"I'm no pushover. Time for me to end this!"

"Heh."

The talk was over - the epic battle had begun.

Luster vs Unknown

Luster charged ahead, using his ki talents to release several energy spheres along his cutting path. Unknown responded by firing his own energy blasts to combat every one of them, though when the cat reached the darkness, a successful punch was landed, blasting Unknown back a ways.

"Come on, you're not so tough!" Luster taunted, folding his arms.

"Hmph," Unknown grunted, charging for the cat with a red aura.

When the two collided, punches and kicks were thrown about at incredible speeds. Each punch matched each other, every kick made the others' feet touch. They were evenly matched, until Luster showed signs of weakening, giving Unknown a chance to push him back and grab him, then spinning the Mobian around and slamming him into the Earth.

Unknown then wailed on Luster, every singular punch hitting the nine-year old right in the face. As soon as he had conjured up more ki, Luster released an Explosive Wave attack, getting some free space.

"You're weaker than I thought. Are you sure you're a Mobian?" Unknown returned the favour, trying to make Luster slip up.

"Of course I am! Hey, someone pass me a Chaos Emerald!" Luster retorted, holding his hand out.

A Chaos Emerald? So he already knows how to utilise it's power... the dark, light blue one thought, allowing the following proceedings.

As #18 was nearest to the Chaos Emeralds, she grabbed the yellow one and threw it for the cat's open hand.

"Take it!" she demanded, as Luster caught it.

"Thanks!" Luster responded, staring straight at Unknown. "You're gonna see exactly what I can do!"

Siphoning power straight from the Chaos Emerald, Luster darted right for his shadow opponent and punched him right in the face, blowing him backwards. The power emanating from the Mobian's fist was so strong, he could taste it.

There was no way that a single punch would end the match - which was true, as Unknown re-appeared behind Luster and tried to give him a good kick but it was blocked with apt usage of a ki shield. Applying the laws of physics, the force from said kick would make Unknown recoil slightly which gave Luster enough time to counter-attack.

And he did. Luster performed his own aerial spinning kick that distanced the two fighters.

"I cannot let this form drag me down any longer," Unknown spat, charging a humongous amount of red energy aura. "I guess there's no need for this pathetic vessel anymore."

The ki surrounding Unknown grew, and grew. From here on out, it would only get bigger and bigger, until Luster was just in touching range. Despite the mass power being displayed before him, Luster kept his cool as Unknown's power just kept on rising and never, ever stopping. There was no conceivable end in sight.

About a minute in, all the darkness from Unknown's body (assuredly) had perished, but the gargantuan red energy before everyone failed to dim. After another minute, the ki cleared. Smoke dissipated from the surrounding area, leaving a sight to behold.

Unknown was no-more; replaced with a complete cyan-bodied, sharp-spined Mobian with green eyes - resembling Sonic in certain ways. This stranger had a similar body structure not forgetting everything on this guy's body was a light-blueish, greyish colour, save for the eyes, nose, shoes and gloves.

There was no doubt about it...

Sonic?! No, this isn't Sonic...who is this guy?! Luster wondered, his limited knowledge failing him. "Who are you? Answer me, freak!"

The mystery competitor smirked. He raised one hand, opened it wide and summoned a red ki sphere.

"Now, your turn."

The weird Mobian aimed it's attack for Luster and released it, but it was easily deflected by a kick from the cat. The stranger jumped over his own attack, leaving a small explosion of red energy behind him as a result of the ball striking the Earth.

Mirroring what had just happened, the new challenger fired multiple ki blasts, each one never making it's mark thanks to the Afterimage technique. With each dodge, Luster became even more annoyed and tense.

"Aren't you gonna tell me your name, or what?" Luster requested, once the spheres stopped firing.

"Fine. It should be the admirable thing to do, considering you all will die after this fight," the unco person mocked, staring deep into the youthful eyes of his opponent. "My name is Nazo, and I am a Mobian from Mobius."

This information hit harder than any punch Luster had recieved so far. While tones and facial expressions had changed to that of shock, the info sure didn't take any time to process.

"A Mobian?! But..." Luster asserted, his mouth wide open. "You're lying!"

"No, I'm truthful. Originally, I was deceased, although quite recently, I was brought to life thanks to a stronger force beyond your comprehension," Nazo explained. "I used that Adaptor as a vessel. In fact, he did."

To add onto his list of current emotions, Luster now felt confused and curious.

"Who's 'he'?" the cat examined, desperately wanting answers. "Who. Is. HE?"

"He has had his eye on you, Luster, for a very long time. Ever since you were a weak little organism," Nazo acknowledged, closing his eyes in remembrance. "You were supposed to die on that day; the day justice was served."

"What day?" refuted Luster, feeling anger.

"The day your parents died. That robot was meant to kill you, but that pesky blue hedgehog of yours intervened," returned Nazo, re-opening his eyes. "My master did not like that, though he saw you as an opportunity. Master enjoys a delectable battle."

Luster remained quiet, wanting to hear more.

"I am here because my master wants me to test you, Luster. No matter how this battle plays out, master benefits."

"At least if I stop you here, you won't destroy this planet."

"That is indeed true, though if that were to happen, master's ideal fight would be set in motion."

Luster bit his lip. This 'master' had been watching him for a while, planning this 'ideal fight'...all for what purpose?

A watchful eye

Upon the outside of the crater, the spectators stood in awe and confusion of what had happened so far.

"Did that dark figure really transform into that lighter one?" Tien Shinhan wondered in disbelief. "It's so un-natural."

"That guy's unreal...he's much stronger than Unknown!" Gohan added. "I can't really tell what they're talking about...maybe they know each other?"

Krillin had a theory. "I don't think they know each other...they'd be hugging or something if they were friends or family. I can tell ya, that guy that was Unknown sure is strong!"

Luster, watch out... Goku hoped, believing in his animal student.

Luster vs Nazo: Round 1

Back with Luster and Nazo, much more talk was still to be had.

"Just who is your master? What does he want with me?" Luster demanded. Nazo better answer me!

"He wants you dead," Nazo replied. "Not in any old way. He aims to kill you personally, but he is too weak to make it satisfying for himself. That is why I am here - to weaken you, destroy this world and bring you to master."

"If that's the case, then I will not let that happen!"

Luster charged for Nazo, pulling off a barrage of lightning-fast punches with help from the Chaos Emerald. In response, Nazo did nothing but dodge every single attempt for a successful punch and gave Luster a red energy beam to the face when an opening was sighted.

Another distance had been planted between the combatants, interlaced with hatred and confusion.

"This should really be a battle between Mobians," Nazo stated, staring at the ones spectating the fight. "Chaos Control!"

With those words, time stood still. Everything from the air to the smallest movement from an insect was stopped in time - Luster and Nazo were un-affected. To say the least, Luster was surprised.

"Chaos Control?! What happened? Why didn't we get teleported?"

"Teleportation isn't the only use of that ancient technique. It can also be used to stop time and I made sure that we weren't affected," Nazo calmly explained.

"Why? Why just us?"

"So that nobody can interfere."

Literally right at the exact moment Nazo uttered his previous sentence, he had punched Luster square in the gut and bycicle kicked him upwards, using Chaos Control to teleport above the cyan cat and extend his two feet out right when Luster approached.

Unable to do anything, Luster couldn't even watch as a red energy ball took him to the ground.

Nazo continued to beat the ever living life out of the good-natured soul. He was un-relenting in his attacks, never giving up or slowing down. Luster - during this period of being beaten up - managed to build up enough ki in the palms of his hands so that when he pointed them at Nazo, the peculiar fighter was sent flying.

Since Nazo was off him, Luster was finally able to breathe.

Why...why does he have to be so strong? I can't do this... he told himself, filling himself with more anger as time passed on.

That cat is crafty and adept at evading my attacks but that won't last for long. He is going to fall and...wait, what is that? Nazo summarised, noticing the appearance of a red ball that did not belong to him.

The red sphere soon transformed into Tikal the Echidna. Apparently, she had un-finished business.

"Tikal! Why are you here?" quizzed Luster, turnng to face the friendly.

"Nazo is a dangerous opponent and has a history with Chaos," Tikal responded, staring straight at Nazo. "Nazo possesses the same kind of strength as Chaos, so defeating him will not be an easy task."

"The same kind of strength as Chaos?! Sonic could only beat him, and he's not here..."

"Sonic is not needed. Please, allow me to explain to you Nazo's origins. It's important."

Luster heeded the girl's call, and Nazo allowed her. After all, it's not like this information would factor in the conflict.

"Nazo has had a rivalry with Chaos since before the Ancient Echidnian era. This Nazo creature was created when Chaos first started to tap into negative energy, and the relationship between them was far from perfect. They would fight constantly, until Chaos got to the point of killing Nazo. He did, but the negative energy started to corrupt him and it eventually did just that. When all was seemingly lost, the Chao arrived and opened Chaos' eyes to peace."

Nazo seemed displeased at this story - his spiteful memories were coming back to him.

"Despite being a God of Destruction, from that point onwards, Chaos never wanted to destroy anything ever again. That all changed when the Nocturnus Clan attacked some centuries later," Tikal finished, drooping her head in sadness. "That is when I had to isolate Chaos, which led to the creation of Angel Island."

"Does that mean Nazo is a god, too?" Luster observed, having listened to the entire back-story.

"Yes. He is the God of Terror. Chaos and Nazo are the only two gods in the dimension we come from. I cannot speak for alternate universes and the like."

Luster clenched his fist and punched the ground in absolute anger.

"That just means I have absolutely no chance of beating him!" Luster complained, grunting in spite. "If you wanted to depress me, then you've done it!"

Through his eternal pain and suffering, Tikal wasn't quite finished.

"That's not necessarily the case. Luster the Cat, Chaos has accepted you as an Avatar of Chaos," Tikal comforted, smiling. "Just like your friends."

"What does that mean?" growled Luster.

These next few words flipped the cat's mood around instantaneously.

"It means you can achieve the power required to vanquish Nazo."

From that, Luster shot up and began smiling. From depression to complete bliss; the cat hero had his spirits restored.

"But wait, what's this power, anyway?" Luster questioned, still confused.

"Get the seven emeralds and-oh. You're of the quick type, aren't you?" instructed Tikal, before being flabbergasted by the fact that Luster had grabbed the jewels so quickly.

She hadn't even finished her sentence.

"Whatever it takes to defeat that Nazo, I'll do it," the Mobian cat asserted, placing the seven Chaos Emeralds down.

Divine Intervention

"What now?" Luster anticipated, with the emeralds surrounding his feet. He patiently awaited for whatever was going to happen next. It better be good...

Tikal said nothing. She clapped her hands together and began a prayer of sorts.

"The servers are the seven chaos..."

These words made the emeralds levitate, orbiting Luster. Now, they were glowing brighter than ever before.

"Chaos is power, power enriched by the heart..."

The Chaos Emeralds began to ascend further into the air, bringing Luster up with them.

"The controller is the one that unifies the Chaos..."

A bright light enveloped Luster and the emeralds.

"Chaos has accepted this young controller as an Avatar of Chaos. His heart is pure, and his determination is strong. Chaos Emeralds, grant this youth your power!"

A mass amount of energy was being zapped into Luster as a result of Tikal's words being spoken. Chaos Energy coursed through the cat's body, enhancing his abilities incredibly. The energy never stopped seeping - Luster's strength continued to grow.

His fur changed to a golden yellow, his eye colour changed from black to red and his ki aura changed from natural ki to a yellow Chaos Energy aura. His long, middle spine became spiked, otherwise the two on the side remained the same. His shoes retained the classic look.

Luster felt fantastic. He felt power - was this what true power felt like? He couldn't tell.

When the light around him faded, Tikal looked upon this transformation and breathed a sigh of relief.

"It worked," she noted.

"I certainly feel a lot more powerful. Looking at my fur, it's all yellow!" Luster inspected, checking himself.

Suddenly, he remembered something. Sonic had achieved this transformation before - as did Shadow.

"Wait a minute! I know what this is!"

"What is it, then?" Tikal questioned, knowing exactly what has happened.

"I've become Super!" Super Luster celebrated, charging up a sizeable amount of ki. "My ki's been powered up...I'm super-strong!"

"Now, use that power for good. Destroy Nazo, just like Sonic had done so with Chaos!" demanded Tikal.

Super Luster was happy to comply - he was more excited to witness the scope of his Super State's power. He walked slowly up to Nazo and pointed at him, feeling rather cocky about his new talents.

"Nazo, ready for Round 2?"

Luster vs Nazo: Round 2

Super Luster teleported right in front of Nazo and this time, delivered a successful barrage of punches, ending with an uppercut. As Nazo was forced into the air, Luster continued flying towards him. The God of Terror tried using a red energy beam, but Super Luster Afterimaged behind Nazo and gave him a good kick in the back, returning the fearful opponent to the Earth.

Upon the ground, Nazo planted his feet firmly and extended his two arms upwards, collecting a large amount of red Chaos Energy.

"You're not the only one who can utilise the Chaos Emeralds! Chaos Torrent, go!" Nazo barked, releasing his attack.

Chaos Torrent?! An ancient technique that can only be used on the ground, where the user can gather Chaos Energy. When it hits a target, the explosion radius is large. I wonder what Luster will do... recalled Tikal.

Luster took one look at the dangerous attack and grinned. He knew exactly how to repel Chaos Torrent. He bent his body slightly, extended his arms behind his back and charged a massive pool of blue energy.

"Kamehameha!" Super Luster yelled, releasing the classic wave.

The super-powered technique trumped Nazo's Chaos Torrent - it was ripped straight through, with the Kamehameha eventually reaching Nazo and engulfing him.

"Direct hit!" the super cat commented. "What?!"

Nazo was still very much alive. He flew straight up to Super Luster's level and began trading blows with the Chaos Emerald wielding hero. Luster was the one to find an opening, pushing Nazo down beneath the ground. He then began beating Nazo senselessly, in revenge for what the god had done to him earlier.

Seconds of beating up Nazo continued to fly by, but thanks to the Chaos Control from earlier, no time had actually gone by during the fight. Super Luster threw his opponent into the air and used a ki blast to keep him in the air for an extended period time. When the blast dissipated, Luster used a final kick to send Nazo into the rocks of the crater walls.

Despite all this punishment, Nazo still stood up.

"Don't think I have been beaten just yet!" Nazo retorted, flying over to the Master Emerald.

The God of Terror stood upon the grand gem and began to draw his own power from it - his red aura soon turned to purple, his cyan body turned red and his spines became more refined. His eyes turned completely red, but the white turned to yellow.

Not only that, but Nazo was much stronger in this new form.

"I am the God of Terror? Do you really suppose I can be terrorised by your transformation?" Nazo mocked, folding his arms. "I am Perfect Nazo - I absorbed negative energy from the Master Emerald in order to create this form!"

"Oh, good. That just means I get to kill you later rather than sooner," Super Luster returned, un-fazed by Perfect Nazo's taunting.

"Enough! Time to die!" Nazo insisted, starting up Round 3.

Luster vs Nazo: Round 3 - The Decider

Super Luster went for an Aerial Spin Dash, though it didn't work quite as planned. Perfect Nazo had stopped it in it's tracks and span the spheroid around and chucked him backwards.

When Luster got out of his Spin Dash form, the two started having an Energy Blast Volley battle, each blast colliding with another. As the energy attacks came into contact with another, dust and smoke started to form. Multiply that by at least a hundred, and you've got yourself a complete cloud of the stuff.

Luckily, the good natured super state had an advantage over the evil natured one; ki sensing. Super Luster used this to Instant Transmission to Perfect Nazo, kicking him several times, over and over again - ending with a powerful ki wave. Nazo had to let this happen, so he took the damage and upon being freed from his sight issue, fired an energy blast for Luster's back - his weak-spot.

The knock-back sent Super Luster closer to the Earth, where another fisticuffs exchange went on. These punches broke the air particles until they collided with the other super being's body. One punch from each warrior at the exact same time distanced them, but not for long. Nazo Chaos Controlled behind Luster and knocked him down to the ground with a arching vertical punch.

Such a fight wasn't over just yet.

"That's it! No more playing around!" Perfect Nazo cackled, raising one hand to the sky and forming a purple energy ball with it. "This attack will end it all!"

The Chaos Eruption... Tikal commented, watching the curtains about to close on such an eventful skirmish.

The purple energy ball increased in size, until it was deemed pretty darn big. Luster had to do something. Fortunately enough, he had a plan. Super Luster got into a Kamehameha-stance and sure enough, prepared the infamous turtle wave. Alas, with a twist.

"Chaos..." both sides started, adding as much energy into their attacks as they could.

"Kamehameha!" Super Luster shouted, releasing his technique.

"Eruption!" Perfect Nazo returned, doing the same.

Within what seemed like no time at all (literally), the pair of attacks collided, creating a great struggle. Both sides were drawing as much Chaos Energy as they could from one source - the Master Emerald.

At first, the Chaos-powered Kamehameha and Chaos Eruption appeared to be completely equal.

"Light cannot exist without darkness!" Nazo claimed, adding more pressure to his spherical move.

"Even though that may be true, light always shines through the dark!" Luster refuted, adding more Chaos Energy to his wave.

Tikal, who was the only un-frozen viewer of the beam struggle, noticed something.

Even though those two are drawing from the same power, Luster's attack is stronger. Chaos...you've finally awoken, she realised. "Nazo, your time in the world of living has been exhausted!"

"Shut up you pathetic girl! I will regain my status as the God of Terror! Not you, Chaos, or this boy will prevent me from doing so!" returned Perfect Nazo.

"I think otherwise! Look at your Chaos Eruption!" retorted Super Luster, shaking his head in mockery.

Nazo looked down, noticing something very, very wrong with what was happening.

"WHAT?! My Chaos Eruption...it's getting smaller! I can feel my control on it...slipping away from my fingers!" Nazo realised. "Why is this happening?!"

He tried to add more power, but it just didn't do anything. His technique was weakening and there was nothing the Terror God could do. Tikal could answer his questions.

"You no longer have control of your attack! You seem to forget that Chaos is in command of energy outage of the Master Emerald. Since you've used it's energy for most of your Chaos Eruption, Chaos can just as easily drain it all away and feed it directly to Luster's Chaos Kamehameha!" Tikal answered, much to the chagrin of Perfect Nazo.

"That Chaos...I won't forget you!" Nazo grunted, as the Chaos Kamehameha eliminated Chaos Eruption, heading straight for Perfect Nazo himself. "You can't be doing this!"

"But he is!" Super Luster revealed, his own attack becoming more powerful as each second passed. "Nazo, it's been fun but it's time for you to go! I hope I never see your sorry face ever again! 'Master' better not revive you again, because I'll just KILL YOU AGAIN!"

"AAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!" Nazo yelled, as his final moment had arrived.

Luster's Chaos Kamehameha completely engulfed Nazo, evaporating his entire body and killing him. Nazo had been eliminated.

"I did it...heh," Super Luster quietly celebrated, turning into his regular form.

The Chaos Emerald dispersed from his body and returned to different corners of the planet. Time returned to normal, leaving everyone to wonder what just happened. In this time, Tikal smiled.

"The fighting's over...Nazo is gone. Thank you, Luster," she thanked, returning to the Master Emerald.

Luster became the only one left in the crater, panting for breath. He didn't have any energy left to breathe, neither could he move. Inside, he was happy; happy that he finally had succeeded in taking care of an enemy that possessed great power.

I won...

Luster had used up all his energy and had gone past his limits during the fight just now. Maybe a rest is what he needed...

*CLUNK*

Victory...?

Did he do it?

Did he kill that guy?

What happened to us?

Yeah, he's still alive...

Mysterious ongoings

With a sudden jolt of life, Luster awoke to see that he was in a bed in a house he recognised. He wasn't back at Mobius, or the Earth he knew - he wasn't home. Not in the Thorndyke Mansion, anyway.

One person entered the room.

"Hey mum, he's awake!" Gohan called, alerting everyone that was in the house.

Goku, Goten and Chi-Chi entered the spare living room to see their friend's condition.

"Hey...what happened?" Luster questioned. Man my head hurts...

"Don't move yourself so violently. You took a lot of damage in that battle, but you're okay now," Chi-Chi warned, preparing to tend to the patient.

"Thanks, but what happened out there? I can't even remember..." continued Luster, holding his head to help ease the pain. "Did I win?"

Goku knelt down to deliver the news.

"Yeah, you won. Don't know how, because that guy you fought wouldn't let us watch," he explained, in a comforting tone. "You did it, but the emeralds disappeared."

"I used them...I transformed into a Super form..." Luster recalled, remembering his awesome transformation. "Nazo kept talking about a 'higher power'...Tikal told me about a guy who reprogrammed the robot that killed my parents...they're the same guy, I know it..."

"Don't worry about that right now. We have to get the Dragon Balls and the Chaos Emeralds," stated Goku. "Then we can get ya home."

"When I get home...I'm gonna search for that guy. He's gotta be on Earth somewhere..." the Mobian asserted, unknowing of the hardships of such a journey. "As soon as I find him...I'm gonna make him pay."

"Heh. Try not to think about it too much - you'll want to talk it over with your closest friends back home," Gohan reassured, smiling.

Everyone seemed to agree.

"Yeah," Chi-Chi nodded. "Just get some rest and we'll wake you up when we're ready."

Luster agreed, and fell straight into a deep slumber. Quietly as to not wake him up, the Son quartet fled the room and darted straight for the kitchen - where lunch was about to be had.

Success

He had done it. Luster had killed Nazo, but is this really the end? No, Luster still has his life ahead of him. He's made his decision on how he will spend it.

Searching for redemption.

Season 2 Ending 1: Luster's Theme

Our world is under a grand spell,

As I sit right here and wait on for you,

Keep relyin' on you to keep me strong,

Without you there, life is a living hell.

When I'm alone

I weep and cry, in the corner of my mind's deepest depths

I do not know how, to survive, learn to be strong by myself.

You're out there

On the battlefield

Until our peace is disrupted

My sorrow is what I yield, I remember what, happened then.

(oh back then, back then)

When I'm alone

I have to dream to see

When I am alone in the empty room

To know what's it's like

To be strong

On my own...lonesome.

Beyond the world there exists

A being, capable of such grand power

I wish I was that being, oh I do

So I won't, have to cower.

When I'm alone

I weep and cry, in the corner of my mind's deepest depths

I do not know how to survive, learn to be strong by myself.

You're out there

On the battlefield

Before that one moment when time stops

My sorrow is what I yield, back in the past, I was hopeless.

(help me)

When I'm alone

Must train everyday

When I am alone on the lime sofa

What's it all about?

To be strong

Must train...everyday.

In my dreams

In my wildest dreams

I find something new

Bestest friend.

Blue hero

Yellow flying fox

Then, there is me

All alone.

You're out there

On the battlefield

Until our peace is disrupted

My sorrow is what I yield, I remember what, happened then.

(oh back then)

You're out there

On the battlefield

Before that one moment when time stops

My sorrow is what I yield, back in the past, I was hopeless.

(goodbye)

Author Notes: Luster defeats Nazo, the mysterious character from that Sonic X trailer and main villain of Nazo Unleashed.

Such a long chapter! The biggest Season 2 chapter...so far, anyway. Hope you enjoyed the eternal struggle, and maybe you'll follow, favourite and suggest this fic to your friends! It helps me out a lot. If you could do all that, thanks.
