I am so so so so so so sorry about how long I've been taking to post chapters! I write some of the chapters on paper and then I forget to type those, so I get confused on what I was going to write. I need a remembrall. Anyone have one I can keep? Or an Autobot that will remind me of everything I need to do? If it is an Autobot, please let it be Sunstreaker and Sideswipe (I love these twins. Not Mudflap and Skids). Anywho, shout-out to J.T.'s A.X, SiriusBlackFan2, and angelmusiclove98 for following the story! Let's see what happens to Lexine!

Journey for Jaime: Part 1

It seemed like eons were passing with each slow and boring day filled with combat training, but it had only been about a week since my encounter with Victor. My relationship with Logan was...getting better as we got more and more comfortable, he was trying so hard to be a great brother. All I wanted to do was get Jaime back, even if he went back to his parents, and I wanted to have a normal life. Well, as normal a life as a mutant can have when fighting for the school and protecting others against mutants that wish to enslave anyone they see as inferior. Wow, is that really what I consider normal? Maybe I should go see a shrink and make sure I still have some sanity left. Wait, did I have any sanity to begin with? Okay, need to stop the random tangents.

Anyway, where was I? Oh yeah, everything seemed to be going fine, until I got that small package. After one of the younger boys delivered it to me, he left, probably to go back to his friends, and I screamed like I was about to be murdered when the contents spilled out. It was a bunch of bloody hair still attached to part of a scalp that reeked of Jaime and Victor. People came running and Logan was the first there with Beast and Bobby right behind, "What happened?" I pointed to the hair on the floor with a shaky hand and my brother held it in his hand to sniff it before growling out, "This is Victor's work. Come on. We need to have a meeting." I followed him up to the room we always met in for missions as the other two professors, Kitty, and Peter arrived, "We need to find Victor. He's already sent the first bit of Lexine's foster brother." Logan held out the hair and I saw the other two girls gag and turn pale, "This is just his warning. If we don't save Jaime soon, there won't be anything left to save."

I turned snow white when he said that and I whimpered almost silently, "Do you have any idea where he could be, Logan?" My brother shrugged to Storm while speaking with an angry voice, "I don't know for sure, but the letter smells of an old battle fort we served at once. I'll take Lexine and go see what we find." I silently listened before leaving to pack, but my brother stopped me, "Pack a few clothes, but make sure one is your uniform. Wear normal clothes for now." I nodded and quickly left to disappear into my room. I threw on hip-hop pants, a Transformers t-shirt, my Pokemon shoes, my Harry Potter bracelet, my Power Rangers bracelet, and my Superman bracelet before throwing some clothes, including a set of pajamas and my uniform, into a messenger bag I painted for the Avengers.

I was about to walk out my door when Peter appeared and I sounded slightly desperate when I spoke, "Hey, I need to go." He blocked my exit as he said, "I have something for you. Close your eyes." Grumbling slightly inside because I wanted to leave and look for Jaime, I obeyed Peter and felt him put something around my neck before a light weight settled on my collarbone, "Okay, you can look now." I opened my eyes and gazed at the blue pendent with a dragon and black lines across it, "I love it, Peter! Thank you so much!" I threw myself at him in a hug and we kissed a little before he chuckled and told me, "Glad you do. Now go. Save Jaime, so we can all meet the kid that has you wrapped around his pinkie." I grinned before grabbing my bag and rushing to meet my older brother in the garage.

I saw him standing by a motorcycle with Storm, Beast, and Professor X there, "Come on, pup. Let's get going." I nodded and gave Storm a quick hug when she opened her arms, "Good luck, Lexi. Watch Logan's back." I smirked while answering with a cocky voice, "Will do." Logan scoffed and retaliated, "More like I'm going to watch her back." I gave a small chuckle before climbing on and my brother started the engine, Remember everything I've told you, Lexine. Logan loves you very much and will do anything to protect you, even at the cost of his own happiness. Be safe. I nodded to Professor X before holding onto my brother with a tighter grip as he gunned it down the driveway.

We drove for a couple hours till we both needed to eat, so Logan pulled into a diner in one of those small towns where everyone knows each other. After sitting at a booth, an older woman walked over and spoke with a country twang, "Hello, dearies. You new to town or visiting?" I glanced at my brother, who was absorbed in the menu, so I answered politely, "Just passing through, ma'am. We are headed to visit some family." She nodded, "Okie dokie, artichokie. What can I get for you two?" Logan finally spoke up, "Got any beer?" The woman shook her head, "Good heavens, no!" I snickered under my breath and quickly pretended to be interested in the menu when Logan glared at me, "I'll take a hamburger with fries and coffee." I finally got control and said, "I'll take chicken tenders with a salad and Mountain Dew." After writing stuff down and taking our menus, the lady soon returned with our drinks before leaving again, "So, Logan, where do we find him?"

He studied all the patrons around us before whispering, "An old fort the U.S. built, but it never actually stayed in use for long. Victor and I were there for about three years. We're headed to Alaska." I felt my jaw literally drop and he raised an eyebrow, "What?" He took a sip of coffee as I replied, "Alaska. Dude, you didn't tell me to pack any freaking warm clothes! You suck." Logan chuckled as our food was delivered and I angrily ate it, "Calm down, pup. I used to live there. It won't be too cold for us right now. You can use my jacket if it is too cold for you." I stuck my tongue out, which he just laughed at, and we continued to eat before we were on the road again. It was about eleven P.M. when we next stopped and that was at a rundown hotel on the side of a back road, "Go get a room. I'll go get food."

I hopped off the motorcycle and walked into the office to be met by a greasy man, "What do you want?" Hesitantly, I came forward, "I need a room with two beds, please." He snorted, "Only have a room with a double-sized bed. Take it or leave it." I sighed and took it before paying and grabbing the key. I entered our room and set my stuff down on the bed before flipping through channels until Logan got back. He raised an eyebrow at the one bed and I groaned, "Only room the guy has. Don't complain." My brother just nodded before tossing a hamburger to me, "Here. Only thing I could find." Quickly eating, I grabbed pajamas and told him, "I'm taking a shower. I'll be out soon." Logan grunted and took the remote, so I headed into the bathroom before locking the door. That night was awkwardly spent with me under the covers and Logan on top, even though I ended up curling into his side while we slept. The next morning began at about 5 A.M. when Logan woke me up, "Get dressed. You've got until I come back with breakfast." I groaned and groggily headed to my bag of clothes, Why must he be so awake in the freaking morning? It is way too early to even be thinking about moving.
