Prompt 11: Snow
Rating: T+

Cynthia's eyes fluttered open at the small ray of morning light spilling in through the bedroom window. She yawned and stretched her arms clumsily, accidentally backhanding her sleeping girlfriend in the process. The Pokémon Champion drew back sheepishly as Dawn grunted and jerked awake. The twin bed in the younger girl's childhood room was clearly not meant for two.

"Sorry about that," Cynthia chuckled embarrassedly. "It wasn't intentional."

"I know…" Dawn mumbled as she sat upright, rubbing her head tiredly. Suddenly, her eyes lit up with a mischievous glint. "Although that doesn't mean I don't expect compensation…"

Cynthia bit her lip deviously. "You know I'm not one to turn down early-morning 'compensation…'"

With that, the blonde positioned herself over her younger girlfriend so that she was essentially pinning her down to the mattress like a wrestler. Dawn put up a fight in the spirit of good fun, though in reality the last thing she wanted to do was resist.

"Whoa there!" the raven-haired girl cried, feigning offense. "I meant I wanted you to buy me a hot chocolate! You can't seriously think I'd be on board with having relations in my mother's house!?"

The irony was that they made a point of having "relations" frequently when visiting Dawn's friends and family in Twinleaf Town. It was risky business, what with Johanna and her demon Glameow milling about. Not to mention the fact that Barry often stopped by unexpectedly (mostly to stuff his face with food from the pantry.) So naturally Cynthia had at first been uncomfortable with the idea of being intimate in Johanna's house. In the end, Dawn had talked her into it with more ease than she liked to admit. Cheap thrill it was, it made them both happy, which was good enough for her.

"I don't care if you aren't on board," the Champion grinned evilly, responding to her lover's rhetorical question from earlier. "I will drag you on board if I have to…"

"Coercion?" the smaller girl gasped. "Why, I should have you arrested!"

Cynthia snickered, tightening her grip on Dawn's wrists. "Oh? And what would you do in my absence?"

The black-haired girl thought for a moment. "I suppose I'd bust you out of jail and bring you back to my mother's house to have relations."

"Sounds awfully convoluted…" Cynthia muttered, burrowing her face into Dawn's neck. She kissed her way from the smaller girl's collarbone to her pulse point, stopping to run her tongue along the sensitive skin under her girlfriend's ear. Dawn let out a small moan, further fueling the Champion's desire. Cynthia smirked in satisfaction. She barely noticed the sound of the front door opening downstairs and someone stomping their snowboots off on the welcome mat inside.

"Cynthia, wait…" Dawn sat upright abruptly, causing the older girl to lose her grip on her arms. "Did you hear that?"

The blonde in question raised an eyebrow in confusion. "Yes. That's the point of this game."

"No… someone is coming up the stairs…"

"Relax," Cynthia purred into Dawn's ear. "Your mother won't bother us."

"You don't understand!" Dawn grunted frantically, attempting to push her girlfriend off. "I know those footsteps! It's not my mother, it's—"

As if on cue, Barry, Dawn's severely overactive best friend, burst through the bedroom door, a manic gleam in his orange eyes. Dawn opened her mouth to say something, but he cut her off, tapping his foot impatiently against the floor like a rabbit.

"Seriously, Dawn!" he huffed, jabbing the Pokétch on his wrist. "It's almost eight and you're not even out of bed yet!? I've been awake for hours!"

"You mean you actually sleep?" Cynthia asked, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

Barry ignored the comment. He learned a long time ago that countering Cynthia's insults was a huge no-no if you didn't like being put in a headlock by a girl three times as strong as you. "Have either of you even looked outside yet? It snowed more than twelve inches last night!"

Dawn and Cynthia turned to look out the window. Sure enough, the entirety of Johanna's front yard was covered by more than a foot of deep, white snow. The younger girl's face lit up joyfully. She had always loved blizzards. She couldn't explain why, but she found everything in nature much more beautiful under a layer of fresh snow. Even traveling the harsh route to Snowpoint City by foot when she was younger hadn't changed her mind. Cynthia, on the other hand, was far less enamored with snow. As a native of Celestic Town, one of the coldest cities in continental Sinnoh, it was just another fact of life to her. She hadn't minded her homeland's harsh weather much when she was younger, but after traveling the world and discovering that there were places where wearing a heavy cloak and scarf in the middle of summer was not normal, she couldn't help but feel a bit resentful. Needless to say, the Champion's idea of a good winter was one that ended quickly. But much to her chagrin, Sinnoh's winters never seemed to end at all.

"Are you two in a trance or something?" Barry grunted as he snapped his fingers irritably, bringing them back to reality. "We can't let this opportunity go to waste! We're meeting Lucas for a snowball fight in twenty minutes, so get up and get ready!"

"T-twenty minutes…?" Dawn stuttered incredulously. Cynthia was no longer holding her down, but the two were still awkwardly-positioned on the bed. "We're kind of... busy. Can't you give us a little more time than that?"

"NO, I CAN'T!" Barry yelled, flailing his arms like a child. "This is super, super, super important! You can bang each other later!"

With that, the blond boy rocketed out of the room and thundered down the stairs, leaving Dawn speechless and Cynthia irate.

"…Dawn? Do you know anything about making a murder look like an accident?"
