The sun beat down on the three seniors as they occupied themselves, well two of them did, anyway. Jackson stood outside of his colonial-revival styled apartment building. The door, was transparent-like glass base with a black outline and handle accompanied by a mailbox the building was surrounded by bushes with heavenly white cherry blossoms on display. Jackson stood in front of an excited Catty holding a camera in her paws and a vast smile on her face. Cheesing and posing in front of the camera, he watched as Catty snapped what seemed like 1,000 pictures before she looked up in pure exuberance.
"How many pictures are going to take before you make us all late for school? I don't want to be late for the first day of school." Pharaoh groaned in irritation from his seat on the brick staircase in front of the building.
"Hush Seth, You're not going to be late, besides, it's Jacksons' first day back to Monster High too! I need to capture the moment," She whined snapping another pictured on her ICoffin, she gently placed a hand over her chest as if she were counting the rhythmic beats of her heart, with a fake pout. "I can't believe my babies are going back to school, I'm so proud!"
Proud is exactly how she felt describing her two boys, they had been through a lot in their lives and so rarely heard admiration from others. She was proud that her boyfriend enrolled to Monster High to get the real high school experience along with focusing on his studies. He was a performer, he rarely had time for friends, thus only having to deal with people who worked for his record label. Pharoah, at first, resented the presence of anyone that wasn't Catty however he quickly grew to like Jackson over their experience in the music industry. People, as he so "delicately" says "are nothing but snakes out to watch you grow so they can tear you down." but she didn't think like her boyfriend, she knew that there were people in the world who could be trusted and remain faithful.
And Jackson? There was so much to be proud of with Jackson. She was proud he and Holt were returning back to Monster High with his head up with confidence. They'd gone off into the world by themselves, independent from their father and lived on their own. Jackson started making beats for big artists like Little Hex, Justin Biter, Nicki Mirage and Scariana Hauntde while Holt booked multiple gigs at parties and special events as a DJ in order to provide for the both of them. They made living for themselves without the help of Catty or Pharaoh's connections.
Pharaoh rolled his eyes at her remark, "We were homeschooled. Geez, you're making it seem like we dropped out." He leaned against the railing hoping they'd be done soon. Pharaoh let a sigh escape his plump lips feeling as if he were gonna be there forever, he looked toward the pair as t they continued taking pictures ignoring the stares and awes of passing tenants. He smiled, at their goofy nature. They were so absorbed in their antics to notice the unimportant remarks and murmurs of pedestrians. They reminded him so much like two little children playing about, spreading happiness to anyone that crossed their paths wherever they went.
"Pharaoh!" He immediately turns his attention toward the pair of smiling fools, he couldn't help but lightly chuckle at their faces. "Come take a picture with Jackson!"
"And then we can go to school?" He asked.
"And then we can go to school."
He shrugged and rose from his seat on the hard step shuffling in Jacksons' direction peering at the two jovial buffoons. He took his place by Jackson chucking up side-way peace signs with his tongue hanging out of his mouth, while Jackson smiled as big as he possibly could.
"This one is going on my Critter page!" Catty shouted as she snapped the picture. Once she was done, she opened her Critter page on her ICoffin and uploaded a picture of the two young men with the caption 'So Proud of My Boys..' directly above the picture. As expected, her notifications blew up with numerous likes and various comments about who the handsome gentlemen was standing next to her boyfriend.
"Now that you've got your picture, can we go now?" Pharaoh barked grabbing his book bag.
Catty rolled her eyes at her boyfriend and toyed with her phone. Looking at the comment section of the newly posted picture, she knew it wouldn't be long before people would begin to ask questions.
"Yeah, let's go."
