(Dark) Well here's the next chapter
Like Spirit said I will take over this part of the chapter. I am in Mexico, but I still managed to send my part of the story to her by email. But anyways, enough about me, let's get this chapter going :D

Chapter 11: Arena of Death!?
Not even the beat of sweat allowed either one of the two duelists to stop until they reached the top of the glass tower. Rage was strong in both Yami and Kaiba's systems, namely they were chasing those cloaked ghouls that challenged them to a duel. Kaiba looked around his surroundings, seeing that both him and his rival finally made it to the top of glass skyscraper. He noticed to forms standing on either side of the glass ceiling. True to their words both cloaked ghouls remained on the opposite side, crossed-arm, the familiar white duel disks visible to the naked eye; waiting for their opponents.
"We really haven't introduced ourselves yet, have we?" The shorter ghoul said, his face lowered so that it covered his appearance.
Kaiba and Yami would have cared less if they were famous actors, but regardless remained quite.
"We are the assassins of the ghouls. I am Mask of Light."
"And I am Mask of Darkness!" The taller pronounced.
"We're A Tag Team formed to hunt down the God Cards!" Both stated, now showing their faces to the two duelists.
(For the sake of the writing, I will name the shorter one Light and the taller Dark)
"This is a Two-on-Two duel. Got it?" Light cackled. "Duelist who lose their life points will be removed from the game! The team who defeats both opposing players wins." There was a small pause from Light.
"And be careful when I say 'Removed from the game…' what I mean is… the losers get Killed." Now both Kaiba and Yami felt their eyes widen in reaction.
"We are standing on the 13th floor the roof of the building. The glass under our feet is a skylight, which leads all the way down to the ground floor."
Light grinned maliciously. "In other words, this pane of glass is the only thing that is supporting our lives!"
Dark took a step. "Each one of the four sections has it's own Explosive Device attached to the corners of the glass. That explosive device will destroy the glass the moment the life counter hits zero…"
Light laughed. "We call it the Explosive Tag Team Match of Death! Sound like Fun Huh!?" But his only response was silence from the two teens.
Light cackled once more. "What. Too scared to Speak?"
"Is that all you have to say?" Kaiba demanded.
The two ghouls didn't even bother to counter quick enough.
"In that case. I'll answer with my Deck. And let me tell you; It Will Not Show Any Mercy!" The CEO shouted.
Yami matched his expression, her crimson eyes almost seemed to glow with anger. "Let's Get This Over With!"
Light smirked. "As if a God can stand up to our combined Mask Card Deck! We'll corner both you rats into a trap!"
"DUEL!"
Yami: 4000
Kaiba: 4000
Dark: 4000
Light: 4000
Light plucked the top card of his deck. "I'll go first. Got it!" His scrawny eyes moved towards his hand. "I'll play two cards face down and end my turn."
"Yami you're next, after all ladies first on your team." He chuckled.
Yami glared, taking her own card from her deck. She took one gander at her hand and already formulated a plan in her head. "I play Beta the Magnet Warrior in defense mode!"
Since no one was aloud to attack on the first turn the girl simply she ended.
*Just what kind of tactics will they use against us…?* Her eyes scanned over to Kaiba, she knew very well that Kaiba isn't the type to fight in a tag duel…
"My Turn." Dark said drawing his card.
"I summon Shining Abyss in defense mode." The moment the gold and blue monster appeared, causing Light to laugh mockingly.
"The moment my partner's monster is summoned I activated this face-down! Mask of Brutality!"
"Heh! This'll give my monster a power-up!" Dark boasted; the light monster barely had any time the moment the mask appeared from the spell card and jump over Abyss's face. Instantly increasing it's attack from 1600 to 2300.
*They already managed to summon a monster over 2000 attack in the first turn…!* Kaiba thought, his cold blue eyes crossed directly on the other team.
The only female duelist turned her gaze towards the opponents, eyes slanting in observance. *It seems like their dueling strategy is based on teamwork… How appropriate for a tag-team duel…*
Her gaze returned to Kaiba, noticing the stoic expression. She was certain that he didn't give a rip about the situation. Though he was most likely forming another elaborate way to destroy the monster.
But then again it seem to be their best situation as it seems…
"Hmph!" A short smirk appeared over the CEO's face. *Teamwork will only hold me back in this battle.* His eyes faced Yami the corners of his mouth curving upwards. *I may as well use Yami for own victory right now.*
Kaiba's smirk grew rather unattractive and sinister. *I'll crush these ghouls by myself!*
"I play a face-down card! Then summon Vorse Raider in attack mode."
Yami blinked. The monster only had 1900 attack, is Kaiba trying to lure his opponent into attacking? The expression on his face made it seem that he obviously had something else in store. Her crimson hues flashed down to the face-down card, obviously it had to be some counter trap or spell.
What she didn't know was that Kaiba is simply planning on sacrificing his monster in order to summon a level six. The CEO knew if they had higher level monsters, making their chances of finishing this duel quickly escalate greatly.
Light simply continued to grin, seeing the next card that he drew. "Well, well, well, my card is-" He placed the card inside the slot and activating it. "-Mask of the Accursed!"
Yami felt her stomach jump. "Nani!?"
The Mask darted towards her direction, but it never reached her; instead it hit...
"Beta!" She gasped seeing the new dangerous accessory over it's face.
*No…! That cursed mask will not only paralyze my monster, but I'll take 500 points of damage every Turn!*
Light grinned harshly, seeing the female react as she did, he knew that she very well knew the effect of his card. "I then play one more card face down and end."
Despite the situation, her eyes transverse to his own field. *Another Trap…? Mask of Light hasn't played a single monster so far. Is his plan to only weaken us with spell cards?* Now that she thought about it, did the Mask of Light even have any monsters in his deck to begin with? Light has only been activating non-monster cards; did his deck only compose of magic and traps?
"C'mon Yami! Back To You!" Light shouted pointing at the girl. "And don't forget, you take 500 points of damage. Got it!"
Yami: 3500
Kaiba: 4000
Dark: 4000
Light: 4000
"TCH!" The heat around her seemed to heighten the moment she saw her life points lowered. She shook the feeling off as she took another card from the top of her deck.
*Archfiend of Gilfer...* She thought, taking a small look of the familiar orange card.
*He's a level six star monster with a special ability...!* Her gaze remained on the high level monster. The urge to play him was rather strong, however something in the back of her mind told her that she shouldn't... Her crimson gaze looked at her masked opponents sides. The bad vibe almost felt all to real to her.
Cold blue eyes stared at the single female duelist. *Even if Magnet Warrior can't fight because of it's mask, it's still good for one thing…* He looked strait down to his rival's hand, though he couldn't see her cards, he knew very well that she was holding a high level monster.
*If I were you Yami, if you even have one, I'd sacrifice your Beta to summon a higher level monster.* It would certainly get rid of that pesky mask that would drain her of her life points.
The only female duelist didn't have to see that the two mask wearers stared at her again; it made her eyebrows twitch. If anything she sincerely thought it was an act before to throw her off; apparently not... Her dark crimson hues lifted up to see them, she was right about them looking at her... and it didn't help matters that Light was looking at her considering how his mask was smiling in such a eerie manner.
Taking short breath she faced the back of the yellow magnet monster on her side. At the moment, the only thing she could do to help her situation was to sacrifice.
"All right! I sacrifice Magnet Warri-" She never got to finish.
"-Activate Trap! Permanent Trap Mask of Restrict!"
A large red and green mask appeared before them, instantly freezing the sacrificial command.
"Nee Hee Hee! How d'you like them apples! As long as this permanent trap remains you can't sacrifice any monsters got it!"
*NANI!?* Both duelists took a step back from shock.
*That means we can't summon any stronger monsters!* Both thought, vaguely feeling their hands grip tighter over their cards.
Both men laughed. "Exactly what I was expecting. Even if you do have God Cards, you wouldn't be able to summon them without any sacrifices."
"In other words they are practically useless now!"
"TEME!" Kaiba shouted angrily, thought it was evident that his dueling style was dangerously limited considering that he uses a controlled beatdown deck, and with that it contained multiple high level monsters. If he was unable to sacrifice and use them how was he suppose to win this duel now?!
Yami felt the sweat roll down the side her face. *…We can't play anything higher than four-star monsters…* She transverse her eyes down at her hand, any strategies that she contained before all practically shrouded, just like that mask. She moved her eyes over the cards again, she blinked when she caught sight of Kurribo, without another shred of time she summoned it in defense and placed a single face-down.
It was the best she was able to do for the moment. Until she can come up with a way to destroy that trap card, they were stuck in a tight pinch.
*Without sacrifice summon, we have no chance if we follow our normal tactics.* She thought, turning her head so she would face Kaiba.
"There's only one way for us to win…" The tri-colored haired girl paused briefly, seeing that the brunet turned his attention her, a strong resistance to teamwork evident in his facial expression.
"We must combine our strength Kaiba." But as expected the taller male looked away, seething the words out of his mind.
Dark grinned; any possibility of those two rivals working together were thrown out the window. The duel is going to be much easier than he thought. "Well, now it's my turn."
Dark removed his eyes from his hand and took a look over towards the only female duelist's field. He knew very well, that it would be futile to attack the yellow magnet warrior. It will snatch Yami's life points without any attack at all. It seems all too good, however... Shallow eyes moved towards the CEO side of the field.
Kaiba's face down card really bothered him.
"Don't worry partner, I'll take care of it." Light said suddenly catching his dueling partner's expression. Those words caused a large grin to appear over Dark's face.
"Alright then. I'll leave it to you..." He mumbled, softly but loud enough for only his partner to hear.
He returned his attention back to the young CEO. "Shinning Abyss Attack Vorse Raider!"
"I activate my Trap!" Kaiba countered; raising the magenta card. "Ring Of Destruction!"
Suddenly a large silver ring with dark green grenades on each peak of the corners; overlapped the light attribute's neck.
A powerful smirk over shadowed the CEO's face. "Heh, enjoy your 2300 points of damage!"
"Not so fast! Got It!?" Light shouted raising his own arm and lifting his own magenta card.
"Counter trap activate! Curse Transfer!"
"Nani!?" Kaiba shouted seeing the grenade rings switch over to his Raider. Kaiba barely had any time to shield himself when the bombs went off. The force was enough to make him skid his shoes over the glass surface.
The brunet had to force his more dominate leg behind him in order to prevent him from falling backwards. (NOTE 1/2)
"Kaiba!" Yami yelled, her crimson hues wide; seeing the taller male shut his eyes tight from the impact.
Kaiba: 2100
Yami: 3500
Dark: 4000
Light: 4000
Light chuckled viciously seeing the explosion hitting right through. "That's the strength of Light and Darkness!"
"Our teamwork is unbeatable in a two-on-two battle… and now it's going to be two-on-one soon." Dark continued, seeing his new opportunity.
"With no monsters to defend yourself! I attack with Shinning Abyss!" The light monster brought it's hands together to it's robotic-like form, a surge of energy forming inside it's hands. That energy grew and before any duelist knew it, the Abyss pushed its arms out and released that white energy towards the brunet.
"SHEENEI KAIBA!" (NOTE $)
Kaiba only could see a blinding light. No…! This is-
But before anymore thoughts could be processed, a mass amount of smoke obscured his vision.
"Nani?" He gasped. The attack continued as intended, but the light ray never touched him. Instead the attack was shooting at multiple…
"Now there's enough Kuribohs to protect both of us… and Kaiba won't lose any life!" Yami countered, a large confident grin plastering over face.
The CEO faced his companion. *Yami…!*
"Kaiba knows this Kuriboh and Multiply combo! Now we're both safe from your attacks!" She stated pointing at the mask wearers confidently.
Dark took a daring step forward. He couldn't believe this! "How Dare You!?"
A bunch of fur-balls prevented the attack this is unbelievable!? Kaiba gritted his teeth together. He knew very well that her card saved him, but…
"Yami! I don't need your help!" He shouted, blue eyes crossing in annoyance and anger.
Not even her crimson hues moved to stare at the brunet. "Kaiba. This is a Tag-Team Match. If either one of us falls… it's over."
Kaiba's eyes faced pointingly at his rival. "Are you trying to tell me one person can't win it Alone!?"
She still didn't face him. "These two snarling dogs we're fighting have one thing on their side. Teamwork. They're supporting each other perfectly. Their decks work together like a well-oiled machine." There was deep sigh. "Unless we fight together, there's no way we can beat them!"
Kaiba felt his heart pause momentarily. *Fight together…?*
Just what on earth this female thinking. He doesn't work with anyone. Least of all his rivals! Chances of him ever working with her willingly is when he hands Kaiba Corporation over to some low-life!
"Hmph!" Kaiba grunted looking away from the shorter girl. He didn't need this, those ghouls can have the help of every duelist in the world and they still wouldn't be able to beat them!
Dark wanted to throw his duel disk at something. How dare that girl mock him like this!?
"Calm down partner, everything will be okay." Light said carefully into his built-in mic.
"But how do we attack them? One Kuriboh is nothing, but this many is a problem…" Dark responded, one eye facing his shorter dueling partner.
"Nee Hee, Hee… Never fear. I have an idea… Got it?" The shorter partner said, his grin retracting from his partner and back at the rival duelists.
Kaiba didn't even bother to look at his deck when he drew the top card.
"It's My Turn!" Cobalt eyes widened at the card he just drew. There she was, his very Ace...
*I need two sacrifices for an eight star monster like my dragon.* He looked up at the dark mask that remained hovering at the center of the field.
*But as long as they have that cursed magic card. I can't even summon Blue Eyes, or even my God card!* Kaiba could literally feel his heart hammering against his chest, he was really stuck in tight situation. But he couldn't let this keep him from rescuing his brother.
Blue eyes narrowed at his opponents, the moment he beats them, they aren't going to have to worry about the bomb. Cause he will make them suffer and beg for mercy. No one hurts his little brother and gets away with it!
His placed his attention aback to his cards; noticing the spell card that could possibly help him. All Kaiba needed to do is discard this monster in particular…
"I'll play a face-down card and play Gadget Soldier in defense mode and end!" There really wasn't more that he could do at the moment.
"Well Kaiba… looks like you have your hands full, just protecting yourself like that!" Dark mocked, Kaiba paid no attention to mind. They were soon to get what they deserved.
Yami stare at the monster behind her monster wall. *They have Shining Abyss with 2300 attack points. In a tag-team battle you can use defensive monsters to protect your partner. For now I'll have to hide behind the wall of Kuribohs. And wait for my chance!*
Her crimson gaze faced Light when drew his topmost card; noticing the shallow eyes grinning with his vaunt expression.
"Does Yami wanna come out and play!?" He mocked, hinting the slightest amount of a smug tone that just made the single female cross her eyes. "We can't do anything if you guys are hidden behind these scrub monsters. But this card will clean them out."
Crimson eyes grew in shock. "Nani!?"
Light entered the card in the slot. " Mask Of Dispel!"
Instantly the large amount of Kuribohs started to fade, leaving small clumps of smoke in their place as it evaporated away. But that wasn't all as the grayish melting mask instantly glued itself to the front of the Multiply magic card.
Her heart jumped to her throat the moment she saw the single brown Kuriboh in front of her.
"That's not all. You will lose 300 life points for every turn the Curse of the Mask remains in your side of the field!" Light laughed.
"And now we get to see the game queen more properly." Dark chuckled giving the queen another smug look.
Yami didn't even bother to glare back, the fact that their only current line defense was washed out. It would only be a matter of time before either of those two ghouls attacked…!
"It's not over yet! I summon Grand Tiki Elder! And attack your Kuriboh!" The ritual-like monster didn't bother to wait as it just blew the small brown monster into smithereens. The force smack her in the arm, the pain felt vivid, but it wasn't harsh; the girl let out a grunt, only shutting those vibrate eyes to stand still.
The duel queen was at a dead end. Because of the Mask of Accursed, her Magnet Warrior was practically a sitting duck. He couldn't attack or even defend and that let her wide open to attack.
A rusty laugh covered the field. "Darn, that's all I can do for now. But don't forget, you loose 800 life points!" He pointed.
"Thanks for reminding me." She responded bitterly.
Yami: 2700
Kaiba: 2100
Dark: 4000
Light: 4000
The heat just wanted to gather around her, the moment her life points dropped. Yami could only shake the feeling away when she drew her next card. Noticing the magenta color.
*This trap card can't help me right now…* Crimson hues scanned her hand.
*There's noting in my hand that can help m-* She froze, noticing the familiar green spell.
*I could use Card Destruction… then we'd all have to discard our hands and draw new cards.* Yami eloped her fingers over it to play, but as if the card shocked her fingers she withdrew them.
Her thoughts went to her companion. The tri-colored haired girl had no idea what was in his hand, and if he had the possibility of having a card that would change their situation… she may as well fight against him along side the ghouls.
Her own heart just felt like it wanted to jump out of her chest. *I can't do it… If I do that, he'll never trust me again…*
Bitterness cramped her entire frame. *...and right now I need his help…*
"TCH…" She hissed, but then again, when did Kaiba ever trust her? She looked down, a small hint of guilt just dripped inside her. But even so, the fact that he may have a card that would turn the tables were still standing on end. Jonouchi and her friends appeared in her head. She didn't have the time nor the heart to be able to leave them out there to ghouls doing who knows what to them... She shut her eyes tightly.
Was there anything she could even do?
Laughing.
She heard Laughing.
Yami snapped those crimson orbs open, having them face her taller partner.
"What's wrong Yami. don't tell me you don't have any monster less than 5 stars?" A long mocking tone in his voice soaked heavily.
"I'm sure you're defenseless if you don't play a monster this turn." That arrogant smirk just grew by the second.
"Well I guess it can't be helped, if you only have high-level monsters… A card that requires a sacrifice is worst than useless right now… Maybe it should just go in the graveyard…"
A low gasp escaped the single female's lips. *Wait a minute…!*
She stared at Kaiba's face down card. A thousand bricks hits her head.
*I get it…! Kaiba want to…!*
Light couldn't help it anymore, he just burst out laughing. "Look at them fight! I guess it's every duelist for themselves!"
Dark just had to join in. "Haw! Some team they are!"
The CEO faced away from his companion, his gaze returning back to the ghouls. It may seem like kind of response to those mask duelists, but he knew the truth behind those words. He only hope that she did to. *Yami… do you understand me?*
As if they were mentally connected she nodded. *I Do!* (NOTE 3)
"I play one card face-down and End my Turn!" Crimson eyes slanted in a glare when she saw both ghouls stare at her once again. And it wasn't the previous duelist look they gave her only a few minutes ago. It was the one that they given her before when they first met her. Yami blinked, feeling the stinging sensation hit the base of her spine.
*This is a gamble!* She thought, sweat dripping down her the side of her face. She wasn't liking this, and she wouldn't be able to stand it anymore unless she and Kaiba finished this once and for all!
Dark grinned. "It's my turn! And I use this Ritual Card! Curse of the Masked Beast!"
*Curse of the What!?* Both rivals thought, their irises shrinking from shock.
What looked like a skulled demon shot of the green card with golden torches remained behind the card. The ghostly fires increased, swirling around both of the mask duelist's monsters; engulfing an burning them behind the skull demon.
"One monster of Light, one monster from Darkness!" Light shouted extending his arm out at the ritual.
"Behold the Mask Beast of Hell!" Dark finished as what looked very similar to a monstrous centaur
*3200 Attack Points!?* The girl thought, feeling her heart jump violently.
"Ha Ha Ha! Yami you no longer have any defenses! Masked Beast Kill Her!"
The beast rushed towards the single female. Fear actually struck her hard, nothing felt solid to her as she saw the monstrous beast rush dangerously at her.
*NO…!*

I did just end it right there! XD
I do have my reasons, well for one I didn't have the idea of how to combined the rest of the chapter. Considering the time I have and the writer's block that continued to rush through me as I wrote this did take my writing style in a different turn. It wasn't easy I tell yah!
Anyways, Yeah, I do plan to work on the next chapter considering, Spirit does have to make up for her job. But she should be back after the next chapter.
So you will deal with me in the next chapter XD

Anyways this as far as I could get, but first:
NOTES:
(1) I am adding a bit more to the battle damage, I haven't really seen Zexal, but Spirit has and she told me that in that Arc they are able to feel the force/impact of the monster attack. And truth be told I actually like that, it gives more intense dueling that way. So yes, in this story they will be able to feel the impact, though not very painful, it can still send some rather powerful shock-waves. Depending on the person and how much they would be able to stand it XD

(2) Understand that in the real game this card gives both opponent's damage not just one. But I am following the rules that the manga is making. The same was done with the first appearance of Dark Magician girl. I followed the manga rules. (Just give me some time and I will follow the anime and real rules, if I can find the show first…)

I know I did. To say "DIE" in Japanese it's actually "Shine" but not many people know that, so might end up reading it as shine,
like ~sun shine~ you know (shinny)
So I spelled it differently so those who don't know Japanese will read it differently.

Just kidding. I know, I know, but all you prideshippers will have to wait considering how the manga made their characters. I just copied what was written in the manga, I didn't make that line up.
I still need to keep them in character after all.
Unlike Spirt, I like my characters to be "IN CHARACTER" and not OOC. Seriously I've read stories where Yami is the defencess person and Kaiba is the nicer person and treats everyone as his friends. Some even go as far as making him the next shy persona Yugi.
I mean REALLY!?
