I'm sorry once again guys. This time it wasn't writing it that was a problem, it was the will to start writing. I keep meaning to start, but I keep putting it off. As I said, I would try to work faster so let's hope I can deliver. Please enjoy this overdue chapter.

Dave and Danielle crawled through the buildings ventilation system as they moved deeper into the complex. It was hot in the vents seeing with no power to turn on the cooling system, air couldn't pass through the narrow passage. This caused the temperature to shoot up. Never mind the fact that fires were raging in the area.

Dave wiped the sweat from his brow and said, "How much farther do you think we have to go? I don't think I can this heat anymore."

Danielle did the same and said, "It shouldn't be too much farther. I can't exactly remember where to find the lab."

Dave groaned. She forgot where the lab was? That's just perfect.

"You've got to be kidding me. How are we supposed to retrieve this compound you've told me about if you can't remember to find it? Not cool mom. Not cool," Dave complained.

Danielle groaned as well and argued back, "I remember where to find it. I just can't remember the exact location of the lab. But if I can spot familiar sights along the way, it should jog my memory. Just let me look out the next grate."

Dave rolled his eyes, but they pushed on. Within a few minutes they found another grate and Danielle looked out. After a minute or two, she pulled away and shook her head.

"Doesn't look familiar. We should push on," Danielle said which made Dave groan once more.

The two continued on, looking through any grate they passed. But each time, Danielle couldn't recognize the area. After a while, all hope and encouragement began to diminish. It was then that they heard the first explosion. And it was close.

"What was that?" Dave asked in panic.

Danielle perked up and said, "Sounded like a missile attack. Blowhole must be targeting this place."

"Tying up loose ends. Son of a bitch. We need to move," Dave said.

"Right," Danielle said as she and Dave began to run much more swiftly through the vents.

But they kept looking through the grates, and before long Danielle finally found a familiar spot.

"Dave. This is the room I took my breaks in. I can find the labs from here," Danielle said.

Another explosion shook the area nearby.

Dave grumbled and said, "It's as good a place as any to begin looking."

They approached the grate and were able to get it off and jump out of the vent. The cool air was practically a shock to them.

"Oh my god. That is MUCH better. What keeps this place lit anyway? Powers out through the whole city," Dave said indicating that the room was still brightly lit with the lights.

Danielle chuckled and said, "Dave you can't be that dense. We use back up generators here. Keeps the lights on, but nothing else. Not even the elevators. Simple enough isn't it."

Dave blushed from embarrassment, but quickly got over it. They continued out into the hall as another explosion shook the complex. They were surprised that nothing had hit them yet. Must be jammers in the area or something.

"Must be poor aim," Dave said.

"Or jammers. We need to hurry. He'll just send in a demolition crew to take this place down," she said which Dave nodded to.

(Airship)

"Sir! None of the missile's are hitting the designated target. How should we proceed?" said the operator after the fifth miss in a row.

Blowhole rubbed the temples of his forehead and said, "Just end in a crew to destroy the place. Kill anyone inside the park or the complex. The less people we have to deal with the better."

The operator nodded and said, "Right sir. Deploying them now."

Danielle approached the door to her lab and took a breath.

"Let's hope for the best," said Danielle as she stood on Dave's back and opened the door up.

The lab to her surprise was intact. Nothing was out of place and everything was orderly. She hopped off of Dave's back and marched over to her desk.

"Please be here. Please be here," she said to herself.

Sure enough her face brightened into a smile and pulled out a vile of red liquid. All she needed now was a needle. And what luck, there was one in the drawer next to it.

"You have to use that stuff on me, don't you?" Dave asked.

Danielle nodded.

Dave sighed and said, "Alright Doc. Let's get it over with."

Using her arms and legs, Danielle filled the syringe and brought it over to Dave. She stuck the needle into his side and pushed the syringe down as hard and carefully as she could. Dave groaned from the pain but didn't let the pain show through. She pulled the needle out and set it down.

"It's done. How are you feeling?" Danielle said.

"Fine," Dave answered.

Truth be told though, Dave was feeling even more pain than before. It felt like his bones were beginning to shift and his muscles felt like they were about to burst. It felt like agony.

"It's going to be alright Dave. You're body is just turning is all. Bear with it," she said.

Dave fell onto his back and his body began to convulse. His tail shrank and the hair on his body began to pull back into his body. His legs and arms began to grow as did his entire body. The pain was unimaginable. He thought his entire being was going to go into shock.

"You can use this to your advantage Dave. Feel the pain. Feel the anger," she said.

As his change continued, Danielle heard a beeping sound. The computer on her desk had it's own power source and it sparked to life. She quickly went over and typed in a few keys.

"Oh computer. How I've missed you," she said.

After a few more moments, the screen came up and she saw a live feed from the entrance to the complex. Over a dozen armed men were entering the building and more than likely were moving towards them.

"Well that's not good," she said.

She looked back over at Dave as his change continued. She looked back at the drawer where she got the compound and noticed the analysis chart in there as well. She observed it and noticed something. It's the same formula, but now it contained traces of animal compounds. What that could do to Dave, she had no idea. She just hoped it wasn't negative.

She rushed back over to him and saw that his change was finishing up. He was standing back up on his feet as she realized that Dave himself was... naked. She looked away in embarrassment as he got onto his feet. In the nearly two years as an otter, his hair and beard had grown out in his human shape.

"Dave are you alright?" she asked.

Dave groaned and said, "I feel something. Deep down. Anger, hatred."

"Dave. Men are coming here. To destroy this place and kill us," Danielle said.

"I also feel anguish. And a need to avenge," Dave continued.

"What do you feel Dave?" she asked.

"I feel..." Dave continued.

"Yes? Yes?" she said.

Dave turned to her, showing his eyes full of anger and hate rolled into one.

"RAGE!"

Well that does it for this chapter. Next chapter is going to get a bit graphic and will be done much more quickly. I promise this time guys and I have every intention to keep it.

Remember to read and review please.
