A/N: I am so sorry for the lack of updating, I can honestly say that I had completely forgotten I was redoing this fic. My apologies and to make up for it I'll be finishing it within the next couple days.
"Do you always drink right from the carton? Remind me not to have any of that." I smile as she walks down the stairs in one of my college sweatshirts. Her hair's a mess, no make-up just all beautiful.
I blush a little and put the carton back in the fridge. "I'm just used to nobody being here and I hate dirtying a glass for one sip of milk."
"So last night was amazing, who would have thought mail gets you so happy." She laughs at me before giving me a small hug.
"It wasn't getting the mail it was who brought me the mail that made me happy."
A couple weeks later
Work had been kicking my ass which meant I had no time to myself, aside from coming home around 4 am and getting a few hours of sleep before I had to do it all over again. However on this fine sunny morning I didn't have to be at work until later tonight and I planned on making the most of the day, a nice me day on the beach would do the body some good.
I laid on the beach, portable speakers playing old school classic rock songs like the Eagles, take it easy. That was my motto for the day, take it easy, relax and let the sound of the ocean drown out any residual thoughts of work. The sun was warm on my skin but the light breeze made it the perfect weather to be getting my tan on. The one downside to working constantly was that I was doing it inside dark studios, not so great for the tan.
As I laid soaking up the sun all I could think about was that beautiful blonde I met by a chance of fate. I missed her, and that wasn't normal for me, I don't normally miss people. Who would have thought that Santana Lopez, the player, would randomly find the girl of her dreams without even knowing it. I think I knew the minute I saw her standing in my old apartment. She was making me a better person by doing nothing at all, just her presence seemed to give me a positive energy I had never felt before, and well, you know how I feel about that smile of hers.
I turned over onto my back the warm sun felt great on my stomach, this relaxing thing was getting a whole lot better. That's when I felt the cold water splash my stomach and a wet tongue lick my face. Gross, Gus! I said to him. "Quinn I swear to god your dead", I refused to open my eyes, I was relaxing and no one was going to stop me from doing that. "No comment? That's what I thought jerk."
That's when I felt legs on either side of me and hands on my stomach. "Does Quinn normally do this to you." She grinned as she leaned down and kissed my neck softly. Finally opening my eyes I saw her beautiful eyes sparkling from the sunlight. "No I can't say she does, but I'm thinking you might have a problem with that if she did because I would have a problem with that."
"I would laugh at the expression on your face, you wouldn't be alright with it 'cause you're no fun."
"True." I smiled and looked up at her, I still can't believe that picking up mail had allowed me to meet the most wonderful person to ever grace my life.
"I have something to show you, it's not ready yet but it will be."
I raised an eyebrow at her statement. "What would this something be?"
"You're going to have to wait for find out." She leaned down and kissed my nose.
A few hours later we were lying on the couch when her cell phone rang. I handed it to her and watched with a smile as she opened it.
"Hello, Brittany Pierce." She thought for a second before responding. "Tonight? Hmm okay that can be arranged, thank you."
"Work?" She nodded. It was then that I realized that I had no idea what she really did. "What is it that you do."
"You'll find out soon enough, but I have to get out of here and get ready, I'll see you tomorrow for breakfast?"
"See you then." She smiled and got up after she softly kissed me. I really didn't want to let her go but I didn't think I had much of a choice, I understood that when work called you just got to do it.
With Brittany gone I figured me and Gus could use some relaxing time in bed. A Golden Girls marathon was definitely in order but it was ended too quickly when I got a call from work. Something about an impromptu photo shoot for some band that no one really cared about, at least I didn't care about who they were.
I got changed and grabbed my camera equipment and loaded it into my car. I stopped at star bucks and grabbed a venti caramel macchiato it was going to be the only thing that got me through the shoot.
Walking into the studio space I set up my equipment and hoped that it would be a simple shoot. Normally I had to come up with concepts and ideas but for this it seemed like it was just going to be for a few posters, nothing special or fancy. I didn't normally deal with country bands and when I heard the name Gloriana I shrugged and figured a job was a job.
Thankfully all four members were extremely nice and professional, you'd be surprised how many artists aren't like that.
"Brittany, thanks so much for hooking us up with this shoot so last minute, Santana is great." One of the guys said, I think his name was Tom, he wasn't hard on the eyes either. Wait did he just say Brittany?
I turned around and stared at her, yep that was Brittany, my Brittany. She smiled at me like she always did and brought me over another coffee, she knew what I liked. "Have you been the one keeping me incredibly busy at work."
"Maybe, I may have shown some people some pictures and they made the choice on their own. Not that you needed the help, I did. Finding a good photographer these days is like finding a needle in a hay stack."
"So this what you do?"
"Sort of, I mostly just find the talent but sometimes I do more of this type of work."
She leaned over my shoulder and scrolled thru the pictures. "These are awesome Santana, really."
"It's what I'm good at."
It wasn't too long after that that we decided we had gotten everything that was needed. Brittany suggested going back to her place, which I was completely fine with. "Is it weird seeing this place now that it's mine and not yours."
"Not really, you've done more with it than I ever could. Why are you living here with what you do?"
"I like the space to myself, not to big not to small, good part of town, sometimes it has a pretty good view too." She was definitely as much of a charmer as I was.
"I still can't believe you never told me what you did but secretly pimped me out to all your associates."
She smiled at me. "Ya learn new things everyday."
