Seth sat at Emily's kitchen table holding his mother and sister. They yelled and cried and got out all their frustration. He deserved it. He had left without explanation. Only a note that said he had to leave. Nothing else. He was wrong for that, he owed them any explanation even if they wouldn't have understood at the time. "so, you're here to stay now right?" his mother asked through sniffles
"of course ma. Im here to stay." He responded.
"good, now tell me where you've been and what you've been doing and please how in the world did you marry a women three years older than you! No, tell me over Sunday dinner. You have to come, no excuses!"
"yes mam."
With that said , the trio headed back outside to the bonfire, but he felt leah tug on him. "Don't ever, ever leave like that ok. I wouldn't be able to take it. And neither would mom. I'll be honest, I don't like your wife but ill be on my best behavior"
Seth put his arm around his sister and said "that's all I'm asking for."
Sunday dinner:
The awkwardness couldn't have been more tangible. On one side of the table sat his mother, leah, Jacob, billy, paul, Rachel, their daughter and angela. While on the other side sat Charlie, Allison and embry. Seth stood with his wife in the door way. It was going to be a long day. "Seth! Bella! Its about time you got here!" his mother said as she noticed them in the door way. "yeah sorry! We had to get a few things togather. What's for dinner!?" he asked
As the food proceeded to be passed around billy broke the ice. "so Bella ,Seth What have you two been up to?"
Angela weber was uncomfortable. Her good friend had gone missing for six years and suddenly reappeared. Over the six years she had been brought into the supernatural world. Her boyfriend was a were wolf and had previously been in love with her good friend. And now that good friend was his step sister in law. It was weird! But it also made her uncomfortable and a little angry. How could Bella just show up and cause all this drama! It was bad enough she embarrassed Charlie after she left. Did she know the gossip that spread about Charlie not being a good father because he couldn't keep track of his daughter. Once the cullens left, the gossip only spread like wildfire. But worst of all was Jacob. She could see all of the former love he had for bella was creeping up and angela hated it, she hated single thing about her. Sudden sounds of surprised pulled her out of her funk.
"you Went to juillard!" a surprised Rachel said to seth. "uh yeah, for music and dance." Seth replied bashfully
"so what do you do now?" Jacob asked
"nothing big, I write a few songs for people that's it and bella helps out, she has some pretty powerful lyrics."
"SETH! " bella shouted. "you guys seth is just being bashful, he doesn't just write songs. He an executive music producer and a music producer but he prefers to write music. He kinda does it all. He used to work for a company but he has his own label now."
"beelllaaa! I was trying to be discreet babe!" seth complained
"That's awesome Seth! Any songs we made have heard?" sue asked
"ah, there are a couple . You ever heard of happier by bastille?"
"I heard that on the radio! Those are your lyrics!?" embry asked excitedly
"yeah but bella helped to!"
"So bella what do you do?"leah asked trying to be nice
"oh, nothing special. I work at an art gallery."
"shes lying" seth said "Shes an artist, her work is all around the world now. She even has a art gallery in seattle. Ever heard of the artist marie Andrews?"
"Marie Andrews? I love her art! Wait bella that's you!" Rachel said looking at bella in awe.
"well, yeah marie Andrews is just a cover name. Idont like people knowing who I am. I don't go to my gallery openings. Well sometimes I do but I keep a very low profile."
"your famous, why in the world would you want to hide?" angela asked speaking up for the first time.
Bella looked at Angela. They had not spoken since she got home, Angela mostly avoided her. "I have too many enemies to plaster my face on a gallery. Besides people are more honest about my work when they don't know who I am. Its how I improve. The last opening gallery I went to . I pretended I was just a regular visitor. So when I asked some people what they thought. I was able to find put what people wanted to see. It really helps."
"So you think coming to forks is just gonna keep you away from your enemies. Bring all your drama here for the pack and jacob to clean up again! How dare you!" Angela said venomously
"angie! What has gotten into you!?" Jacob asked shocked at his imprints attitude. She was never like this.
"what gotten into me! What gotten into me!? Whats gotten into you! You guys sit here and act like everything's ok when we all now anytime Bella shows up something goes wrong! You guys have all said it before! And I quote as said by Paul, Leah and Sam! Bella swan is a magnet for the supernatural! She brings trouble where ever she goes! If Bella would have never dated Edward, the Cullen's would have left and no one would have phased! But nooo she had to stay with him! And to make matters worse, she pissed off some angry vampires which caused a an all out war and cause the pack to fight and get hurt! And now that she's back somethings going to go wrong and we all know it! So please tell me Bella see any one that can kill us all of lately!"
Bella felt like someone had thrown a bucket of cold water on what angela said true. If she had simply stayed away from the cullens, all of this could have been avoied? If she had been terrified of edwad like a normal human being would, she would have had a normal life. Would she and Jacob had gotten togather? Would seth and leah still had their father ? Would the wolves had continue to phase?
Bella suddenly stood despite Seths protest, and ran out of the house . She had to get some air. Seth was hot on her heels.
Jacob was outraged. "Angela! Why would sat that! What on earth is wrong with you!"
"Go ahead and defend her jake! Its always her isn't ! Let be honest you never wanted me! Because of the stupid imprint you have to put up with me! You will always want bella!" Angela yelled as tears poured out
"are you serious! Are you serious angela!? Is that what this is about! Bella is my sister now! i don't have those feeling for her! And you know you could have said no to the imprint! We could have just been friends! You're the one who wanted romance! But I will not allow you to sit here and disrespect my family! Its time for you to leave. Go home angela. Just go and don't come back until your ready to apologize."
After Angela stormed out, Paul spoke. "Jacob, you know you can't be away from her for too long."
"I know Paul. I'm going to check on bella and seth. Ill be back."
