Sandpaw and Socks waited at the edges of twolegplace near the thunderpath where she had been rescued so long ago. She spotted a tom walk towards her.
"Sandkit...it's you." Quickstep said, nuzzling her muzzle.
It's my father!
Sandpaw nodded. "I'm going to fight like a warrior today!"
"That's our little Sandkit! Be brave, Sandkit."
"She's an apprentice now, Quickstep. I've been training her to be the best warrior she can be."
Quickstep nodded, and looked at Socks. "I'm sure you've trained her well."
He then looked at Sandpaw. "Well, Sandpaw? Are you ready to fight?"
Sandpaw nodded, and saw several cats run to wait with them.
Dawn, Sandie...They've come to help!
"We brought a few more cats with us. Lucy, George, and Molly are pretty good fighters for kittypets."
They saw Badgerstar lead his warriors towards them.
"Get ready, Sandpaw!" Socks whispered.
Sandpaw noddded, her claws ready for battle.
"BloodClan, attack!"
At that moment, they saw a gray and white she-cat run to their side.
"Rainstorm, come back! You're supposed to fight for BloodClan!" Mittens called.
"I don't want to fight if it means killing other cats without mercy. That's not something I can do without feeling guilt. I might not have killed a cat yet, but I don't want to do that if I don't have to. From now on, I fight alongside these kittypets!"
"Traitor! You'll see how we treat cats like you!" Badgerstar said.
Most of the cats from BloodClan stopped and simply watched what would happen next. Sandpaw leaped onto Badgerstar and scratched his face.
"Look out!" Socks cried.
Mollystep was on her stomach, and Badgerstar just watched.
Sandpaw's vision was blinded.
Oh StarClan, don't let me die now! The world needs me!
Mollystep had her claws on her stomach. "Any last words, Sanddust?"
"Yes," She said, "I am never going to join your clan!" She lashed out, claws out and all.
Suddenly, the world faded to black.

"Goodbye, Sanddust! Looks like we win..." Mollystep said.
"No!" Socks cried, running to her side.
Quickstep walked over to Sandpaw, lying motionless on the ground.
"I ask my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has learned the warrior code and has given up her life to defend our home. Let StarClan receive her as a warrior. She will be known as Sandstorm."
"I'm not dead yet, Quickstep..."
Socks looked at Sandstorm.
She seems so weak lying there on the ground like that...
"Sandstorm, get up!"
Sandstorm weakly stood up, and leaped onto Badgerstar once more.
"Take this, foxhearted rogue!"
She used her claws to slash Badgerstar's throat, and looked away as he coughed up blood. He gasped and tried to breathe, but only coughed up more blood. Suddenly, Mollystep gasped.
"Badgerstar, no!" She cried, and then looked at Fiery.
"What are you doing just sitting there? Help him!"
Fiery snapped out of her daze, running to Badgerstar's side. He gasped but then screamed once more in pain.
The gray she-cat put cobwebs onto his bleeding throat, which were quickly turned red. She quickly put on more and more cobwebs until Badgerstar once more became motionless.
"Two lives lost..." Mollystep said softly into his ear.
Badgerstar coughed up blood and tried to speak, but the only that came out was more blood.
"Blood!" He gasped, but quickly became motionless once more.
"Please, don't let him die!" Mollystep said, looking up at the sky. "He's our leader!"
Badgerstar slowly woke up, and some blood came out of his mouth as he coughed. But no more blood came out.
"Looks like the cobwebs are starting to work. The Dark Forest has saved him!"
Yowls of approval came from the BloodClan cats.
Badgerstar weakly stood up.
"Come, BloodClan. We're going to find a new territory, far from here. Scourge has told me where we must go. We must go where the clans did seasons ago, near the mountains. We will all be safe there."
The BloodClan cats followed him back to their camp.
"We won, Sandstorm." Socks said softly, "Twolegplace is safe."
Sandstorm licked Socks' muzzle. "And our kits are going to be safe, too."

Author's Note: Looks like Sandstorm has won the battle! Badgerstar lost all those lives at once because StarClan didn't give him those lives, and the Dark Forest cats were unable to heal his wounds.
