"Your two-year tenure is complete, what do you plan to do next?" Gilgamesh asked while sipping some wine from his golden chalice.

"I will head to the city of the world's desire to see if I can find any treasures there while making contact with the church."

"I see, then off with you then as I have things to attend to. Before you go through remember what is at stake"

As I began to walk away I called back "I won't, after all, my survival relies on my success"

Gilgamesh laughed for a bit before tossing over a small bag at me."You will need some supplies for your journey. The bag carries enough gold to start your journey through the world."

"Thank you, my king, I-"

"No need to thank me I am only doing what is necessary."

I gave him quick bow to The Golden King before walking over to the stables for my ride outta here.

The royal stables were filled with the most magnificent war mounts mankind has ever used such as elephants and dragons. Though my personal mount was a brown destrier named Sanan a hardy mount that could ride for days with stopping while maintaining high speeds.

As I entered the stables I saw that Sanan was ready to go as he had his saddle on and he was getting a bit rowdy causing a bit of ruckus with the other animals which I guess is another reason to leave now.

Well it going to be a long ride to Istanbul but I guess it will be scenic and enjoyable as I can try all the local delicacies though I maybe should avoid traveling Syria and maybe cross through the Turkish border which is a pity as I would like to visit some sites in Syria such as Palymra ,but I really don't want to get caught in that mess. In any case, let's get started.

"Sanan stops messing with the Elephants we got places to go, places to be and we are short on time!"

This got the horse to whine a bit before finally calming down a bit which allowed me to mount up.

"Let's go Sanan, we ride to Istanbul !"

"Did you find him?" the irritated goddess asked the stressed god as today was when they were supposed to introduce the prodigal descendant to the king of the Sumerian gods.

"Yes I did," he said with some relief.

"Then pick him up already!"

"Stop yelling at me, women! And let me focus on where I need to teleport too! Plus if you are in such a hurry why don't you pick up your boy toy yourself" He yelled back at her before he disappeared in a golden flash.

Ereshkigal's eyes began to twitched for a while before she yelled: " He is not my boy toy, you lousy excuse of a sun god!"

As Ereshkigal began to think of ways to get back at Shamash for his lewd comment, a slender figure wrapped Ereshkigal in a tight hug which took the brooding goddess by surprise.

"You-!"

"What got your panties in a twist my dear sister?" the figure said to the fuming goddess.

"Let me go this instance Ishtar!"

"Ouhh I would but you would disappear back to the netherworld as soon as I let go"

"Grr, what do you want then!"

"Can't I talk to my sister?" Ishtar said innocently with a smile.

"Last time we talked to each other we tried to kill each other," she said with cold and harsh voice.

"Oh don't be like that, I just want to say congratulation on finding him," Ishar said before letting go of the pissed yet surprised goddess.

"Finding who?" Ereshkigal replied innocently.

"Oh don't be like that sister, you know the guy I'm talking about the supposed descendant of Shamash."

"And what about him?"

"Oh, nothing just did know you where into younger guys."

First Shamash now Ishtar ugh what did she ever do to deserve this she thought to herself. She contemplated starting another fight with right now as Ishtar is a nuance that should be dealt with, but right now would be a bad time to start a fight.

"And how did you hear about him because the last thing I heard you should've been at Engur looking searching for the covenanted herb of immortality"

"I have my ways," she said pridefully as she began to walk away.

"Ouhh by the way if you don't claim do you mind if I have shot at him as I haven't had a lover in a while," Ishtar said while snickering at her sister.

Meanwhile, Ereshkigal was fuming at the fact her plans could be unraveled at any second by a useless sister of a goddess, and now she had to protect the boy from being turned into a lovesick idiot by her sister.

After a few moments of ranting to herself, she finally calmed a bit before teleporting to the throne room while commenting sorrowfully "Why am I surrounded by idiots."

"This is nice," I said to myself I was enjoying the ride through the desert. It has been awhile I could enjoy myself a bit without training myself to death the next hour.

"Nothing is going to ruin this, nothing at all" I whispered to myself with a content smile plastered across my face. After all it just me and my horse there is no way anyone is going to ruin this moment.

Suddenly in a golden flash, a tall man with bronze skin and black hair appeared in front my horse.

Ohh great I jinxed myself I thought to myself as I reigned in my horse.

"Who the hell are you, and what makes you think it's a great idea to teleport in front a horse" I yelled at the man.

"Well, kid names Shamash the guy that saved your life a few years back and I'm also calling that favor in right now."

"You still didn't answer the second question."

"Whatever" he replied flippantly.

"What do you want from me, and whatever it is can you make it quick I'm trying to go somewhere you know."

"Hmm don't gods ever get respect these days" the man muttered himself before recomposing himself and asking the kids his favor.

"I want you to come with me to meet someone."

"Really that's it?"

"Yes that all I need from you"

"Okay then...who am I meeting," I asked cautiously. Whoever he wants me meet will determine if I try to kill my benefactor right now as while I appreciate him saving and all, but I don't feel like dying again to a god like Nergal or any god in general that dislikes humans, but if he says someone like Ereshkigal I might go with him as I could use this to my advantage to see if I can form an alliance between some major Sumerian gods and Uruk.

"Anu, he wants to meet you for some reason"

"I see then let's be off then as I don't want to keep your king waiting," I said to him. While back in my mind I thought to myself that maybe I could get a direct alliance with the Sumerians if I play my cards right.

"Really now?!" Shamash said with a hint of surprise, "Most people I meet usually try to kill me then try run away as fast they can."

"Really?"

"Yup mortals usually try to avoid Anu since he hands harsh punishments like candy" the sun god chuckled.

"Ugh...how about we reschedule this meeting later," I said while pretending to chuckle along.

"Haha no because my ass is on the line so…"

In a bright flash, the two of were in the courtyard of a magnificent palace that rivaled Gilgamesh's underground complex except it was more lively as people were moving around in a hurry as they began to set up some decorations.

"Well shit" I whispered to myself. This could really bad...really quickly if I mess because I forgot about Anu's reputation. I'm here now though so let's make the most of it.

"Welcome to the Grand Palace of the Sky, home to many gods such as myself," Shamash said as he revealed in all its glory.

"Now follow me to the main court as that is where Anu is waiting for you."

"Ugh what about my horse," I asked as I don't see any stables nearby to put Sanan in.

"A servant will take care of him now let's go," he said in a hurried fashion.

"Alright, alright no need to rush me," I replied back while dismounting. Before I left Sanan in the care of others I whispered to it "It will be fine and don't cause a ruckus please"

The horse neighed in confirmation before trotting off with a servant leading the way.

"If your ready kid then lets go."

I nodded my head and then he began to lead me through the bustling hallways of the palace before stopping in a small bedroom with balcony.

"This is your bedroom for the night, but before we meet Anu their someone who wants to meet you, so I'll be waiting at the door."

As Shamash left the room I could only wonder who the heck would want to meet me I mean ever since I came this new world I have only met three people/gods so maybe it a friend of Shamash as it's not like Gilgamesh would have any friends among the Sumerian gods. Hmm if that the case-

*poke* *poke* "If your done staring at the wall can we talk for a bit"

"Huh" I turned around and saw Ereshkigal dressed in her black dress with maroon accents and black tiara. She looks so cute...and….calm Nick this the first time you have seen a girl in years so act natural and don't make yourself look like a pervert or-

"Sumer to dummy are you there?"

"Ugh, what!?"

"Geez, why am I surrounded by idiots," She said in a deadpanned expression "If you paying attention I said it is finally nice to meet you in person."

"It honor to meet you lady Ereshkigal, you look quite lovely tonight," I said to her before bowing my head.

"Ohh... thank you for the compliment it quite rare for anyone to complement these days .but please introduce yourself as you never gave your name" she replied with a slight blush.

"I'm sorry I never dead as the circumstances we first met were quite bizarre, to say the least, but my name is Nicholas or me guess you can call me Nick if you want"

"With the introduction out of the way I just want to give you some advice while you stay here," she said in a serious tone

"Okay, so what advice do you have to offer?"

"Just act politely in front of father and things should be okay and you should stay away from the rowdier people here and lastly…. stay away from Ishtar at all cost."

"Um okay, thanks for the advice. Ugh...by the way sorry for calling you crazy back then."

"Umm apology accepted? Now scurry along now, you don't want to keep father waiting"

"I won't, cya later," I said to her while exiting the room.

"Are you ready to meet the king?" Shamash asked while he was spinning a small ball of energy to pass the time.

"Yes...I'm ready to meet him."

"Good, follow my lead."

As we entered the courtroom I count help but feel slightly nervous as there were hundreds of eyes on us. To make it worst the majority of these beings were all stronger than me especially the one in the center on his golden throne who is mostly likely Anu the king of the gods.

"Welcome Shamash, I see you brought your descendant before me," Anu said in a steady voice as he observed the duo.

"Well, I-"

"You are dismissed you and my daughter held up your end of the deal so you are not needed here as I only requested to meet him ."

"As you wish" Shamash replied in a calm voice.

As he passed he said "Be careful" in a very discreet manner.

The court became silent as Anu gave a look that demanded everyone attention before speaking "So tell us about yourself as it looks like you have the story to tell"

"Yes, my king. My name Nicholas and I am an adventurer of sorts" I said in an as polite voice as possible while remaining regal and calm.

"An Adventurer," Anu said as he was stroking his beard.

"Then it may ask what are you goals young adventure?"Should I tell him the full truths about Gilgamesh and all that? No not now especially in front of all these people. Hmm aha, I tell him something similar like I told Gilgamesh years ago.

"I desire to live my life to its fullest to see everything there is to see and then maybe settle down and have a family."

He gave me skeptical look before staring right the eye to see if I was telling him the truth. When he looked at me it felt like being in front of Gilgamesh when we first met with him judging my worth. It felt like an eternity, but finally, the old god sighed before saying "I see... then enjoy the festivities I prepared and enjoy life to its fullest".

"Is that all my king?" I asked before mentally facepalmed myself as everyone in the room was silent again with some looking at me like I did a heinous taboo.

The elder god just briefly raised an eyebrow before saying"I have heard enough as I was merely curious of you and your plans as it has been awhile since I seen a Sumerian hero so do not disappoint as all of Sumeria looks upon you. Now enjoy the festivities, get to know people and have a good time."

With that said, the festivities recompensed with me perplexed at the situation.

"You may have the first move Nergal, leader of the Sumerian expedition," The young man of Chinese descent said to the hulking giant of a redhead.

"Ha ha ha that is rather bold of you. It is truly rare to find a human which such hubris" Nergal said while pacing a white piece on the board.

"No I know my limits and beating you at go is certainly within my limits," he said while placing a strategic black piece

" Hahaha, I like you. It was so gracious of Ophis of helping me claim my rightful rulership over Sumer."

"That may be but Ophis expects you to aid her when the time comes." He said stoically as he was thinking of a strategy.

"And I will after I claim my rightful place and get Ereshkigal," he replied as placed another piece.

While the two continued to chat as they played their game, Cao Cao leader of the hero faction could not help but feel irritated by this so-called god of death and war. He was short-sighted and his obsession with Ereshkigal is going to a liability to the campaign at large as by merely talking to him he understood how one dimensional he was and how he is driven by lust and power. Therefore he was worthless in his eyes.

Even the strike force is going to fail as it only consisted of cultist, some magicians and a few disgruntled deities which is not enough to take on the hermit kingdom. That's why Georg and himself were ordered by Ophis to support him in his little uprising. What worse though was the fact that this god is unreliable as an ally because of his one track mind and barbaric mannerisms that may have him turn on them if something gets in his way.

Cao Cao took a deep breath to calm himself down. While outwardly it looked like he was trying to calm himself as the game was not going his way. Inwardly he finally came to conclusion on how things will play out in the coming days. Even with him and Georg aiding this child of a god the battle will still be a defeat, so he will have Georg set up a plan for their escape as this was not the time to show the world the true power of a human being. With that thought in mind, his expression began to lighten up.

"Why Are you smiling little human when I am on the brink of victory."

"Unfortunately you are wrong Nergal." Cao Cao stated as placed a piece that surrounded a large chunk of Nergal's formation.

When he saw what happened, Nergal immunity flipped the board before storming off in defeat.

All alone Cao Cao began to pick the pieces that were strewn all over the floor, but while he was doing that he reflected on his main goals. To test the limits of humanity, to reform the kingdom of Wei, to put down the chaos that plagues mankind to an end. While all these are lofty goals he had no doubts in his mind that he will succeed in his endeavor.

As he continued cleaning, a portable opened up and Georg strolled out of it.

"What a mess." Georg committed as the pieces from the go game littered the floor.

"Nergal is quite the sore loser and quite the loudmouth." Cao Cao said as he placed two black pieces one corner of the board and a white piece on the other.

Georg narrowed his eyes then nodded his head in acknowledgment as Cao Cao signaled the magician that Nergal was no to be trusted and that a backup plan would need to create.

"I see," Georg said to himself as he thought of a few plans.

"We move in 8 hours Georg so prepare whatever you need as we have work to do."

Well, this is the beginning of the next arc and with my other stories well I'm almost done finishing up a chapter for Quick draw.

Thank you guys for the reviews and I'll try my best to address them properly.

Merlins Pranks101-Indeed they are

Ciel Blaze- Yeah I don't think I'm going with a Harem and if so it would only be 2 at most but probably not. As for the focus on the lore well, I believe world building is essential for a good story while also not having the romance become the story. As in my opinion, the romance should enhance the story not become it in this type of story.
