After the Halo had been disabled, it had been revealed that Emperor Salazar had been onboard the Halo when it had been attacked by the Cornerian fleet, and he had been killed in the resulting explosions. That meant that his wife, Queen Cauda, now had authority over the Empire, and she of course had agreed to the Empire's surrender.

The day had been won, and the war was over. The Amphibian Empire would now have to pay repercussions for all the harm they had done in their solar system.

Down on the surface of Abygos, the Star Fox team reunited. Fox and Katt ran up to each other. They wrapped their arms around each other and kissed. Amanda and Slippy did the same.

Katt, Krystal, Amanda, and Lucy were shocked when they saw Falco with Fox and Slippy.

"Falco! What are you doing here?!" Katt exclaimed.

"Long story," Falco said. Then he looked at Krystal. "Hey, Smurfet," he called her jokingly.

"Hello, birdbrain," Krystal responded with narrowed eyes.

Fox was worried that those two might start fighting with each other given what had happened the last time they were all together, but thankfully, Falco seemed to be over his anger he'd had towards Krystal, and Krystal also showed no emotions at the sight of their bird comrade.

Falco spoke again. "Anyway, I hope you guys don't mind if I rejoin the team again, do you?"

"Sure Falco," Fox said. "Lets all get back to the Great Fox."

"We can have a victory party!" said Slippy, leaping with joy.

Just then, Fox noticed Katt, Krystal, Amanda, and Lucy all get a sad and uncomfortable look on their faces.

"Oh, um… About the Great Fox…" began Lucy. She then explained that the Great Fox had been destroyed when ROB had crashed it into the Halo at light speed in order to disable it.

Three months later, Fox and Katt were married. The ceremony took place on Corneria on a grassy cliff overlooking the ocean. Katt had dreamed of a wedding like this since she was a little kitten.

Katt was absolutely stunning in her white dress. The dress was specially designed in such a way that you could barely notice the bulge she now had in her pregnant stomach.

Everyone had shown up. Falco and Slippy and Peppy were groomsman. Peppy now walked with a cane due to his health, but from the way he acted, you'd never guess he needed it. Before the ceremony, Peppy had told Fox his parents would be proud of the man he had become.

Lucy, Krystal, Amanda were bridesmaids. Unlike Katt, Amanda no longer had a bulge in her belly because she had already laid her and Slippy's clutch of eggs weeks ago back at their home on Aquas, where they were now floating in a nursery tank to continue their gestation until ready to hatch into tadpoles. Slippy and Amanda were enjoying showing everyone pictures of their eggs.

In addition, Fara and Bill had come, Fara holding her and Bill's baby girl in her arms, a little fennec vixen with grey fur like her father's. Miyu and Fay had also shown up, and so did some of Katt and Falco's former Hot Rodder gang, Kool, Bowsor, and Mouser.

Now Fox and Katt were dancing with each other at their reception. The DJ was playing 'Shut Up and Dance' on the speakers. Fox and Katt held onto each other as their bodies swayed to the music. The two gazed at each other with smiles on their faces as they danced. Both of them felt like they were about to burst with happiness at any moment. It was hard to believe that the two of them were now husband and wife.

They glanced around them at all their friends who were also dancing and mingling.

Next to them, Lucy was slow dancing with a unique-looking silver furred male rabbit, his yellow cybernetic eyes looking down at Lucy, whose head was against his chest as they swayed to the music being played by the band.

"How do you like the new body, ROB?" Fox asked the rabbit Lucy was with, speeking loudly so they could hear him.

The rabbit and Lucy looked up at Fox. "It is very satisfactory," he responded. "My new positronic brain is much more advanced than my previous system."

"And your body feels so lifelike," Lucy added, nuzzling against him. "I can't even tell this is synthetic fur."

"It's a miracle we found that backup of your program you made in the wreckage of the Great Fox," Slippy chimed in, dancing next to them with Amanda.

"Yes," ROB agreed. "And I am very grateful for it."

"So am I," Lucy said.

Suddenly Falco walked up next to them, carrying two glasses of wine in his hands, and he turned to Lucy and ROB. "So, I realize this might be an inappropriate question," Falco started, "but I'm curious. Do you two… you know… 'do it'?"

Lucy glared at Falco in annoyance, but ROB answered without any indication of offence. "If you are referring to sexual intercourse, I can assure you my new body is fully functional in that area. In fact, Lucy and I have engaged in coitus twenty-seven times since-"

"ROB!" Lucy shouted, blushing profusely, her entire face turning beet red.

"Oh! I'm sorry dear," ROB apologized as he turned back to his girlfriend. "I forgot it is commonly considered inappropriate to speak of sexual matters in public."

Falco however was laughing his head off. "THEY GAVE THE ROBOT JUNK!" he laughed as he walked away.

Katt and Fox then noticed the only individual at the entire party who didn't seem to be enjoying herself. Krystal was sitting by herself at a table slowly sipping a glass of wine, a gloomy look on her face. In front of her on the table were two other empty glasses.

Fox and Katt frowned. "I think someone's feeling lonely," Fox said.

"Trying to drink away her sorrows?" Katt added with a sigh. "Maybe we should try to hook her up with someone here." Katt began looking around the party for a single guy to ask to dance with Krystal.

"That might not be necessary," said Fox. "Look."

Katt looked back over at Krystal and saw someone was approaching her. To Katt's surprise, it was Kool, her blue feline friend from the Hot Rodders. Katt and Fox watched the scene with interest.

Krystal looked up at the blue cat as he stopped in front of where she was sitting.

"Hi," he said to her shyly. "Um… Would you like to dance?"

Krystal was silent for a moment as she gazed up at Katt's friend who was holding out a hand to her. Finally she smiled. "Y-Yes," she said. She took his hand and stood up, and they walked out onto the dance floor together.

"My name is Kool," he said to her.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Krystal."

Fox and Katt looked back at each other with a smile.

"They make a cute couple," Katt commented as the blue vixen and the blue cat started dancing with each other just as the song 'Shut Up and Dance' ended and 'Don't Stop Believin' started playing.

"Funny how things work out, isn't it?" Fox said as he and Katt held each other close and swayed to the new music.

"It sure is," Katt agreed as she rested her head against Fox's shoulder.

Epilogue…

Months later, at the Cornerian City Hospital, Katt sat in her hospital bed relaxing after having just given birth. Beside her on her right, Fox stood over her. Both of them looked exhausted after the long night of labor, especially Katt.

Falco, Krystal, Kool, Slippy, Amanda, Lucy, ROB, and Peppy were also there, having just arrived.

Slippy and Amanda's children had already hatched into tadpoles, so they were back home still in their nursery tank, being watched by Slippy's dad.

Krystal and Kool had indeed become a couple ever since Fox and Katt's wedding.

Fox and Katt were each holding a bundle wrapped in a blanket in their arms. The one Katt was holding was in a blue blanket, and the one Fox was holding was in a pink blanket.

Katt had given birth to twins! The one Katt was holding was a boy feline with orange fur like his father. The one Fox was holding was a girl vulpine with pink fur like her mother.

"They're beautiful," Lucy said as she and everyone else beamed at the two newest additions to the McCloud family.

"What are you gonna name them?" asked Slippy.

Fox and Katt looked at each other. Katt spoke first.

"Everyone, say hello to Cameron McCloud," she said, nodding to the baby feline boy she held in her arms.

"And this little angel here is Cherie McCloud," Fox said, nodding at the baby vulpine girl in his arms.

"Hello, Cameron and Cherie!" the group all said.

"Congratulations, you two," Peppy said to the proud new parents.

"Thanks Peppy," said Fox, then he looked at Katt. "This is the happiest day of my life."

"Mine too," Katt said, looking up at her husband in agreement.

"So Fox," Falco spoke up, "now that you're a daddy, what's gonna happen with Star Fox? You still gonna lead us?"

Much to Falco's surprise, Fox shook his head. "Katt and I have been talking," Fox began, "and we've decided I'm going to hang up the mercenary life. I'm gonna get a job as a commercial pilot here on Corneria so I can be with her and the kids. For the time being, I want to be a full time dad." He looked down at his wife and their two children with a smile.

"And for the time being, I'm going to be a full time mother," said Katt, holding the child in her arms close to her. "But don't think that means my flying days are over. I fully intend to get back in the cockpit of a ship someday."

"Then who's gonna lead us?" Falco asked with a frown.

Fox shrugged. "Why don't you take over?"

Falco was surprised again. "Really?"

"Yeah, if you want to," Fox said. The Cornerian army, as a gift to the Star Fox team for all of their help, had begun construction of a new Great Fox for them. Fox saw no reason why Falco couldn't have it. "What do you think of the name Star Falco?" Fox asked him.

Falco thought for a few seconds. "I think I'll keep the name Star Fox. Star Falco just doesn't have as good a ring to it. But other than that, I guess you guys are all looking at the new leader of Star Fox!" Falco pointed at himself with a smug grin.

"In that case, I'm definitely quitting!" said Slippy.

They all laughed at that. Even Falco.

And, well, even though I don't know everything that happened after that, I guess I can say, in each of their own ways, they all lived happily ever after.

The End
