Lily's Other Sister – Yes, it's been done many times before. What if Lily had another sister, one that didn't abuse Harry? However, what if Lily had another sister that did abuse Harry, worse than Petunia and Vernon, and Dumbledore had to rescue him and put him with Petunia and Vernon as the better option? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that's been done.
Harry Potter, 6 years old, was asleep. He was comfortable enough for someone who slept on a mattress on a floor in the smallest bedroom in a manor home. Well, it wasn't a bedroom. It was a large upstairs laundry room. The builder had forgotten to put the necessary pipes in for the washer and the outlet for the dryer so it had become upstairs storage.
All of a sudden he was wrenched out of sleep by his Aunt Rose. She smelled of alcohol, again, and seemed to be in a foul mood. Of course, she was almost always in a foul mood and almost always smelled of alcohol.
"Freak, it is 5 AM. You are now going to help Cook fix breakfast, and no complaining," said Aunt Rose, shaking him, "And if I hear a peep out of you, you will be punished." He nodded as she dragged him down the stairs of the Manor house.
It was rather small for a manor; Aunt Rose had married an MP, and after catching him in an affair, one that she had setup, she divorced him and used the evidence to force him to pay her a nice monthly amount in blackmail to keep the reasons out of the papers. She then married another MP, and repeated the process. She now had 4 MP's paying her a monthly blackmail to keep her mouth shut about the affairs. It was about 20,000 pounds a month, 5000 from each of them. Her friend was paid another 500 pounds a month from each of them to keep her mouth shut. After the fourth MP, she took back her maiden name of Evans.
She had a cook. His name was Timothy Smith but she called him Cook. For 2,500 pounds a month, she could call him Dog and he wouldn't care. He was a good cook; good enough to be a chef, but as he had no formal training, no one would give him a chance, except Rose Evans.
She had a maid named Anna, who cleaned all of the manor on Tuesdays and kept it clean the rest of the time. The manor was not very large but still large enough to be quite the task for one maid to keep clean by herself. Rose Evans called her Maid and paid her 2,500 pounds a month.
She had a Butler named Thomas Smith, Timothy's twin brother. He was a good butler and would often help the maid clean up if he had no other duties. He was also the chauffer and would do all the buying for the house and the cook. She called him Tom and paid him 2,500 pounds as well.
The generous salaries were not because she was generous herself. It was because she was a mean, cantankerous old hag of a woman who, before paying them a higher salary couldn't get a cook, butler, or maid to stay with her for more than a few hours. She was lazy, greedy, and she stunk, mainly because she refused to bathe more than once a year and even then it was without soap. She was also abusive and after the tenth butler, twelfth maid and seventeenth cook, she was fed up. So she had a lawyer draw up a contract for the maid, butler, and cook that said they would stay for six months. Of course, she verbally abused the lawyer and he took revenge by making it so that she would have to pay them a minimum of 2500 pounds. It worked out okay as 2500 pounds a month was a lot of money and she had enough to spare. She still didn't like it, but she could insult them all she wanted and they wouldn't leave; they had been with her for about 2 years.
Then the little freak, Lily's spawn showed up. Rose hated Lily and Petunia. Petunia was jealous of Lily but Rose hated them both. Rose would often insult both of them into tears. When that greasy Snape kid came around she had him in tears so much that he refused to even acknowledge her existence. She was also a good actress; she had her parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and all the teachers at school fooled into thinking she was a saint. She had all four of her husbands fooled into thinking she was the perfect wife until their divorce and her demand for 5000 pounds per month to keep her mouth shut about the affair. They gave into the demands; and she kept her mouth shut. When they were late with the payment, she sent them a copy of one of several incriminating photographs, usually with the name of a journalist from a major national news agency on the back and his/her personal contact info, which she obtained using bribery. It was a veiled threat, but a threat that made them keep paying.
When Harry arrived she handed the freak to the Maid and said, "Get rid of it; drown it in the tub for all I care but keep it out of sight." The maid took Harry into one of the bedrooms in the Manor as far away from Rose's bedroom as possible and put Harry on the bed and then proceeded to make up the new bedroom for him. When Rose walked in, Harry was making his pillows float, mainly out of boredom and lack of toys. Rose screamed and then dragged Harry and the maid downstairs, "He is not to stay in the manor; he will contaminate it; he is a freak. He is to stay in the garden shed." Fortunately for Harry, the Butler, who was Rose's favorite, convinced her to let the boy stay in the unused upstairs storage. It was about 100 square feet (9.3 sq m) so it wasn't too bad. It just smelled musty and had no carpet.
So Rose dragged Harry into the kitchen and told the cook, "Cook, you are to teach Freak how to cook as best you can. Teach him to make breakfast. He need not make the other meals as that is what you are for, but you can now have mornings off to prepare better meals for the rest of the day. As soon as Freak is done cleaning up, send him to the Butler or the maid to help with their work. If I am going to keep Freak, he is going to earn his keep," said Rose.
"Yes ma'am" said Cook.
Harry nodded as speaking would get him slapped.
"Freak, you are to do exactly as cook says. You fail and you will be living in the garden shed permanently. And don't you even think about eating anything until I give you permission!" Rose screeched in Harry's face. If it were up to Rose, Harry would only get food once, or twice a week, but thankfully it was up to Cook and not Rose; Rose stayed out of the Kitchen, except when she had a specific reason to be there; she left it as Cook's domain to rule as he pleased.
Harry nodded and Rose stormed out of the kitchen. As soon as she was gone, the cook gave Harry some warm toast and butter, telling him, "This is my kitchen, and if I say eat, you eat. Just don't let her see you," the cook told Harry. That's how they referred to Rose when she wasn't around: Her. You could hear the italics. Harry ate the toast and then started helping Cook. He mainly just put oil in the pans and wiped them down after they were done.
Dumbledore had seen enough; Minerva was right. This was the wrong environment. With the cook, the maid, and the butler, Harry was exposed to too much love. This was very much wrong for his plans. Harry needed to be oppressed, compliant, abused, and needed to see the wizard world as his rescuer from the abuse and be willing to sacrifice himself to save it. Once he was dead, Albus would take over the Potter seats, the vast Potter fortune, and Potter Estate, and use it to open a new school where he would indoctrinate the future generations with a fanatical devotion to him and 'the light' side. It would include subtle anti-muggle propaganda to convince the students that they needed to rule the world. Gellert had it right but his goal was too big and too fast. He simply needed to go slower, to have each generation take over more and more of the world until wizards and witches ruled the world. To try and do it all at once was too fast and too noticeable; muggles needed change to happen slowly over several decades, at the minimum.
So, Dumbledore went and contacted Petunia Dursley. He met with her and explained how Rose had Harry Potter and how he was possibly being abused. He made it seem like Harry and Rose lived in a dilapidated old shack but Petunia knew better. She might have been jealous of Lily, if it hadn't been for Rose. Rose hated her and hated Lily, doing everything possible to make Lily and Petunia get in constant trouble. Eventually, Petunia and Lily had bonded because of Rose. Dumbledore didn't know this.
So Dumbledore took Harry from Rose, with Harry saying "Goodbye" and Rose saying, "Good Riddance Freak" as they walked away before disappearing with a loud crack. The Maid, Butler, and Cook would all quit the next day as Harry was the only reason they had stayed the last 4 years. They kept him out of sight and out of mind and as Rose was in a drunken stupor most days, it worked. As long as Rose didn't see Harry, she forgot he was there. The moment she did see him, she flew into a rage and threw things. Fortunately they were all cheap knockoffs.
As the months passed without Harry, Rose began to miss him; she stopped drinking and found that her mind started to clear up. As she started to remember what she had done to the poor boy, she began to cry. The current Butler, Maid, and Cook found her one day, hanging from a beam in the ceiling, dead.
As it turned out, she had saved up quite a bit of money from her blackmail. She had over 450,000 pounds in a bank account, which Harry Potter was the sole beneficiary of. She asked Petunia to make sure the Cook, Butler, and Maid all got 50,000 pounds each; Petunia gave them 100,000 pounds each. Rose also had a safe deposit box; it contained all the evidence of the affairs her ex-husbands had. This was left to her friend that her ex-husbands had the affair with, so she could continue getting money from them. It also had the personal contact info of several well-known journalists, and 5000 pounds as well. As the manor home was not hers and was only one that she was renting, she could not leave it to anyone. She did ask the owner to give Harry Potter and the Dursleys due consideration if they could afford to rent it.
As the years went on, Harry did remember his aunt Rose and her abuse. He was now in a loving home with his Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon and Cousin Dudley. They were a happy family and Harry grew up knowing about magic and learning at a young age how to control his magic. He learned that if he concentrated hard enough, he could turn Dudley's hair a bright blue. Dudley liked this and wore his hair like this for a while; all the girls went wild at this rebellious bad-boy.
When he arrived at Hogwarts, healthy and well-loved, Dumbledore would choke his lemon drop upon seeing him arrive in a "Muggleborns do it Muggle style" T-shirt, at a normal height and weight, and with no signs of the abuse Dumbledore was sure would be heaped on him. He actually choked to death when Harry went into Slytherin and ran up to give Professor Snape a hug and call him Uncle Sev. Poppy was in the Hospital Wing, under his orders ironically, preparing the wing for an abused boy, so by the time she got Minerva's patronus and arrived in the great hall, Albus was dead.
The Board of Governors would scramble to replace Dumbledore as Headmaster and hastily they decided to make it Quirinus Quirrell. Once Lord Voldemort realized this, he performed a ritual to make Quirrell's body his own and force Quirrell's life essence out. He became the most hated Headmaster since Phineas Nigellus Black. Eventually he called Harry to his office and proceeded to try and choke him to death with his bare hands. Because Harry was so loved by his family, his friends, and because he loved them back, the magic that his mother invoked upon her death had grown in power. As soon as Lord Voldemort touched him, the magic backlashed and went into his very soul, causing his horcruxes to self-destruct; Harry's scar broke open and the entity within died, oozing out in a thick, greasy black smoke that made an unearthly screech before dissipating.
Lord Voldemort would open his eyes to find himself, sitting on a bench, right next to Albus Dumbledore, who would proceed to babble on endlessly for the rest of eternity. Lord Voldemort tried to walk away but he couldn't as Dumbledore seemed to follow him, saying all kinds of crazy and inane Dumbledore-ish type things. Lord Voldemort took out his wand and AK'd Dumbledore only to find that he was immune and another Dumbledore would appear and begin babbling; he then turned his wand on himself, and every time he AK'd himself, another two Albus Dumbledore duplicates would appear and start babbling. That was when Tom Riddle who called himself Lord Voldemort realized that he truly was in Hell.
Okay so that's it. It didn't go quite as I had expected. I thought Petunia and Vernon would end up just as abusive but they didn't. To be fair, I didn't try that hard to convince them to abuse Harry. It turns out Petunia and Lily formed a very close bond with each other due to Rose and so Petunia promised herself that if Lily had a child, she would care for him/her like her own. Lily made the same promise to herself. Lily never fully trusted Dumbledore; she told Petunia that, and that's why Petunia just played along when Dumbles made the comment, "I know you two didn't get along well, but will you take Harry in?"
Oh and Lucius Malfoy was the one who pushed for Quirrellmort to become Headmaster. Shortly after Dumbles' died, Quirrellmort revealed himself to Malfoy and ordered him to push for Quirrell to become headmaster. It took all of his Slytherin cunning to do so, but he did.
I couldn't resist messing with the old Fart's plans for Harry. What did you think of Tom's personal hell?
