Ch 11: A New Enemy Appears - The Bluejam Pirates!
Hi everybody, I'm sad to announce that school is back for me. However, I got a lot of classes with my friends this time so I'm sorta excited and at my school when you become a junior you get the top locker so yay! I didn't get that many school books so that's good too. I was splitting this chapter into two but I read it again and decided it would be best to make it one. Plus I'm trying to write longer chapters too so there's that. Now onto the story!
Update: Naive little me… Also I feel like I made the paragraphs small in this chapter.
Even though it was raining and there was thick fog in the air I decided to adventure with Luffy. When I do so my stamina increases and so does my speed but I was nowhere near as fast as Ace was. Something about today just felt off and I wanted to shake it off by going with Luffy. A good run always calmed me down anyway. But because of the fog we lost Ace. While I was enjoying the nice breeze you feel after you've had a good run Luffy was desperately looking for Ace.
I see a shadow forming behind Luffy and believing that Ace got lost in the fog I walked towards it. "You think that's him?" I ask pointing to the shadow and looking behind to see if Luffy was following me. The shadow grows bigger until it's the size of the surrounding trees. As the figure towers over us my mouth drops wide open that a fly and a frog could go in my mouth. A lightning flash gave me a glance and there was no doubt in my mind that a huge ass tiger was eyeing us as prey. How the hell did the ground not shake when this thing was moving?
Luffy is taken aback by its enormous size and falls down. "Come on Luffy! It's time to go NOW!" I scream as I try to help him up. His arm stretches but the rest of him boy is in a frozen-like state. I tug on his clothes as an attempt to get him to move but he won't budge. Luffy solely makes eye contact with the beast and look of fear is written all over his face. "If you get up I'll let you have my meat for a week! No, a month!" I yell but to no avail.
I stand in front of him as the tiger closely approaches us. "Go Luffy! It's your chance to escape!" One of my many pleas for him to get out of this situation. The tiger growls and I look behind to see it has locked eyes with a bear of equal caliber. I start backing away from sheer shock. How the hell hear or sense its presence? I feel like my eyes are bulging out of their sockets and I feel like I'm going to piss in my pants.
But when Luffy crawls towards me all of those feelings fade away and I gain back my composure. I breath in deep breaths and calmed down I remember that he's blessed with dumb luck, or the will of 'D.' He starts running and I follow after him making a mental note to well, um… not cautiously judge a situation? Or assume? Whatever. These thoughts occupied my mind instead of telling my brain how much my lungs needed a break from running.
We collapse exhausted and see a rainbow in the sky. I look at Luffy and start laughing. He joins in with me. I shouldn't be skipping days doing 'chores' anymore. If I do how will I get any stronger Right now he's my only family and I vowed to protect him with my life.
Everyday after that we would get closer and closer to achieving our goal; becoming Ace's friend. For weeks we relentlessly chased him nonstop. Our cuts and bruises never slowed us down, in fact they reminded us that it would be worth it in the long run. Sometimes Pauly would join us and other times she would go off on her own to train. I felt like I had a connection with her somehow, even though my family never let us have a pet. Pauly was more of a friend, or a companion, and she always showed up when we truly needed her.
"Look Luffy, a bright light." I said interrupting out discussion about becoming pirates. "It's the end of the forest." He said smiling to me. He dropped the stick staff he was holding and with my late start I trailed behind him, picking up the staff. When I caught up to him we were running with our all to the light.
"What is this place?" Luffy asked. "I forgot but we'll find out soon" I said. "All I know is that we have to be careful because some of the people who live here aren't so friendly." I didn't want to use the term 'bad guy' because I didn't know if 'bad guy = beat up' to Luffy yet. As we were walking around I remembered part of the name. "Luffy I think I remember what this place is called." "Nani?" He asks. "Um...gray something. It's on the tip of my tongue. I think it has something to do with a train though." "What's a train?" "What's that?" I point in a random direction because I was too lazy to explain.
"Where? Where?" He excitedly asks looking around. "Somewhere." I said. "Nevermind that, let's focus on finding Ace." Luffy grins and climbs up a pipe to get a better vantage point. At long last we see a glimpse of Ace in his red shirt and we look at each other smiling. We follow him into the forest. "Terminal! This place is called Grey Terminal!" "That's a funny name." Luffy says. Well I can't argue with him on that one. It is a pretty weird name for a place. At least it isn't call Dumpsville.
As we run deeper into the forest I remember that we'll see Sabo. I wasn't crazy over him as much as the other characters but I liked him a lot. Hell during lunch when I was in high school and I found out he was alive I balled my eyes out. I liked how his personality evened out the trio. I we'll be a quartet now? Minus the singing all the time.
"A pirate ship? You guys! Are you gonna become pirates?!" Luffa yells. "I'm gonna become one, too!" I slap him over the head. "Damn fool!" If only he knew what would happen. Ace and Sabo were pissed off at us, well, mostly just grinning like an idiot Luffy. They come down and Ace hits Luffy on the head. Sabo tries to punch me but I dodge his attack. But because it's two against one I'm quickly overpowered and tied up with Luffy.
"Let me go or I'll tell everyone your secret." I tell Sabo. "Ace! I didn't know that you travel this far everyday!" Luffy says with a big grin still plastered on his face. Sabo looking at me slightly blushes and asks Ace, "Are these the two you were talking about?" "No duh Sabo!" I yell. "Did you tell them about me?" Sabo asks Ace. "No but that one" he point to me, "just 'knows' stuff and then that one" he points to Luffy, "is just an idiot." Ace replies.
Luffy laughs. "This is why I told you to live here with me!" Sabo yells. "If Ace moves I can't pictures of him sleeping!" I yell. "More incentive." Sabo says. "What should we do?" He asks Ace. "I know you won't kill us fools!" I yell. "What makes you say that?" Sabo asks angrily. I wink at him, "cause you guys don't have the guts to do it." I say relaxed. "Let's start with no brain." Sabo decides. "Go ahead." Ace replies. "What?! You do it!" Sabo argues. "I've never killed anybody before!" Ace yells. "Me, neither! And I don't know how!" Sabo yells back.
After Luffy screams his lungs out they let us go to get away from where their treasure is. I hide behind Sabo and put signal to Luffy to be quiet. Sabo explains to us that they're the Bluejam Pirates who are not to be messed with. But then Ace tells us he stole money from them. I turn to Luffy to make sure he's there but low and behold, he's disappeared. I've already seen this once, if I watch it happen with my own eyes I don't know what will happen. (A/N I had to refresh my memory so I was watching the episode and when this scene appeared I paused my phone and threw it off my bed. The feels!) I knew I couldn't do anything about it, and if I intervened then I'd be killed. Then who would help Luffy save Ace?
As soon as they leave I punch Sabo will all my strength and scream. "You fuckers better help him!" They start moving their treasure high up into the trees. If I had better upper body strength I would go up there and beat their asses until they promised to help me. "I'm telling you Luffy isn't gonna tell them where your treasure is!" I yell but they don't seem to care about me at all.
They pack their treasure and run in the opposite direction of town. "Fuck you guys!" I yell and run back to Gray Terminal and spot Sabo. Damn, am I really that slow? I should make an obstacle course to improve my speed. Even though my run to town somewhat calmed me down I released my pent-up aggression by punching him in the back of his head. "You little shit! You know how much pain Luffy is in?!"
"I'm sorry! I'll go get Ace…" I interrupt him, "You bet I'm going too!" I trail behind him by a couple feet but keep a steady pace while running to get Ace. When we get to Ace, Sabo and I tell him what's going on. They start running to Gray Terminal at such a great speed that I lose sight of them. "They better make it on time." I say out loud and start following the trail of dust they've made.
I have returned, for now. After binging on episodes I got motivated to at least make an effort in progressing on this story. Most of my motivation was thanks to Law. Also I got 3 ear piercings on my left ear. Can anybody guess why I got them? See ya when I see ya, peace!
