Another box.
When did she get so much shit?
She growled and flung the box into the small apartment, the hollow baby blue room making the racket the objects in the box sound much louder than it really was. The apartment was shit. Cracks in the wall, paint chipping, a strong mildew smell reeking from the sink, no bedroom, and a bathroom that looked as if no one had cleaned it even once.
But it was so much better than having a crazed voice telling you what to do along with a thing behind a wall. She sighed, leaning against the door frame as some of her chestnut bangs covered over her one bad eye. It seemed that when coming back to life, Satan, God, or some random being that Sis didn't care to know, allowed her to have her eye that Fuck cut to hell back, but her sight in the eye gone. Just blackness.
And it scared her really, the blackness.
It wasn't the thought of running into something or someone, it was more that something might form in that one spot of forever darkness and she couldn't do anything to rid of it. Sis crossed her thin pale arms over her chest, her white tank top now clinging onto her form from the sweat do to the massive heat wave.
Egh, heat…
And there wasn't even an AC anywhere, let alone a fucking ceiling fan to turn on in the small excuse of an apartment.
Her small light brown leather ankle boots crossed as she closed her eyes and allowed her form to relax for the moment, the small amount of hair pulled back falling out of the twist tie and tickling her sweat cover neck. There was one good thing about Fuck cutting her hair she guessed. Her long hair would have held the heat. Still, the chin length hair wasn't as bad as she thought it would be.
'You should have cut your hair this length years ago, my Little Bunny.'
A shiver ran down her spine as the words ran though her head, her deep blue eyes snapping open and investigating the small room. Nothing. There was nothing. She took a deep breath, resting her right hand on the side of her face as she tried to calm herself down the best she could. He wasn't there. He couldn't follow her back even if he wanted to, right? Sis stepped out the doorway and into the room to close the door behind her, fear racing in her veins at just the slightest possibility of him being near. She placed her hands against the door, heart beating against her chest as the white paint chipped under her hands at just the slightest touch.
He wasn't there.
He couldn't be there.
She left him behind when she killed herself.
There was nothing to worry about.
…
…
…
She locked the two dead bolts on the door, the sound of footsteps coming from the hall. She backed away a little, wiping her hands on her old jean shorts to rid of the paint on them. She knew it wasn't him, but the idea scared her to the point that she didn't want to take the chance. All the pain, suffering, and turmoil was enough to last her a lifetime.
The footsteps went past her door, just as she thought they would, and down the hall. Sis squeezed her eyes shut and clenched her hands into fist. She was not going to turn into Devi just because of one insolent fucker that wanted to rune her life.
Okay two.
…
Three?
Did Johnny count?
He did try to kill her…
Sis plopped down on the box behind her, the small window behind her that had an escape latter shined sunlight into the apartment. When was it that so many people were out to get her? Maybe she was just better off staying in the apartment so no one would see her.
"To get this far, and then to stay locked in a small cell of an apartment is not my idea of victory."
Sis rubbed her exposed tights and sighed softly, letting her eyes roam the room.
Was there a reason she was brought back?
Possibly…
But what would be the reason?
"Interesting," she mumbled, rolling her shoulder to relieve the pain in them as her eyes grew half lidded. "Yet somewhat annoying… Not having the choice of dying on your terms…"
She stood, walking to the poor excuse of a kitchen. The burner being caked in charred food and grease when the oven looked as if the door was ready to fall off with even the slightest touch of a fruit fly. Looks as if ramen noodles were in store for the future…
Her landlord was a fat fuck that was sitting on his fat ass half the time she saw him. Not as bad as some of the other people that infested the apartment building. She had the joy of meeting one of the few. Ms. Harley Charily was a girl her age that had forgot that she was out of high school and acted like a popular cheerleader whore. Something told Sis that she and her would not be the best of friends seeing as how Ms. Harley Charily was right next door and gave her the stink eye every time she saw her.
"Sigh, no warm welcoming gifts for me I suppose," Sis said to herself as she scratched at the dried on food on the oven with a slightly raised eyebrow.
She stopped, the hairs on the back of her neck rising as her eyes slowly rose to the baby blue wall before her slowly with a bored expression plastered on her pale face.
The smell of copper.
The shift in the air.
The feel of impending doom.
Sis tapped her finger on the oven slowly, her eyes staying locked on the wall before her.
"I see you made it."
"…Yeah," Sis mumbled, lowering her head. "I made it."
She turned to the man that she once feared, the man that threated her life and still did in a somewhat mocking way. His lifeless eyes staring into her own bloodshot lifeless ones, the stare down starting, both of them refusing to lose the staring contest. His hair looked like bug antennas, his choice of clothing close to the same as she recalled seeing in her memories, his boots different, no longer claw footed.
Johnny's brown sleep deprived eyes stared at the woman he once knew as a fragile teen close to snapping and crying before him, now a mirror image of himself. Cold, on edge, lost and near seconds away from snapping at the next person that looked at her the wrong way. It was easy to say, Mr. Eff had dragged her through a hell close or similar to his own twisted fate.
He glared at her.
"I should kill you seeing as how you turned into something similar as me." Johnny glared darkly at her. "It sickens me."
Sis grounded her teeth, hissing darkly, "Then do it and do us both a fucking favor."
Johnny felt her rage build and his hands twitch at the thought of ending her life. It was a job that he never completely finished. How he wanted to finish it.
He smirked, causing Sis to frown in confusion.
"No," he mumbled, grinning evilly. "I wanted you back here alive for a reason Little Miss Sis."
Sis clenched her fists at the name.
He raised his hand and rolled his eyes, "You recall Squee, correct?"
Sis nodded her head, saying, "The small child that is scared of his own shadow, I recall."
"I need you to watch over him."
Sis blinked in shock.
"Really?"
Johnny glared at her, his face darkening.
"I rarely joke," he hissed, his pupils growing as small as the end of a pin. Sis turned her blue sleep deprived eyes towards the wooden flooring below her, her thought process running at a thousand miles an hour.
"What if I decline?"
"Then I'll take you with me and torture you by pulling your bones out of socket and putting them back in to let them fully heal just to do it again. Not only that, but I will rip off your fingernails and burn your skin to the point you have boils over and over and over."
Sis turned her lifeless eyes towards him.
"So you won't kill me, just keep me alive to torture me for all of eternity."
"Yes."
Sis grew quiet again.
"You know the deal, and fully agree," Johnny raised an eyebrow. "Correct?"
Sis sighed through her nose with closed eyes.
"But of course."
"And the deal being?"
Sis opened her eyes.
"Watch over the boy or be slaughtered."
"Excellent."
Johnny turned to the window that he entered in, Sis's mind racing as the sound of his boots echoed throughout the room and burned her ears.
"The boy…Todd… he does recall me and the events with me, yes?"
Johnny started to go out the window, sticking a slender leg out the window as Sis watched him do so. It was as if he wasn't even there, the way he moved and silenced his footsteps when needed. It was quiet the show for Sis really. Why, she didn't know, but something told her this wasn't the last she would see the maniac. He would be watching her and assuring she was doing her job properly.
"Somewhat. You being away for so long has made the memories slowly fade. But I'm sure that he will know who you are when he sees you."
Johnny smiled softly at this.
"He seems to have a soft spot for you." He turned his dark eyes over to her.
Sis felt her face warm up at the thought.
She had meant something to someone? Really?
She smiled widely with closed eyes, her heart warming up in happiness.
Watching over a kid, how hard could that be?
"And one other thing…"
Sis eeped in shock at something hitting her face and gripping onto it, her blood growing cold at the softness and the brown fabric staring back at her.
"That's yours."
"SIS! I MISSED YOOOU!"
Sis felt her face lose all of its color.
"No. No. No. NO! NO! NO!"
Sis screamed in rage as Johnny slipped out of sight and into the world. He may not be able to be there to see the suffering, but he knew P.B. would deliver it to her tenfold if not more.
Todd stood by the school children laughing and picking on one another, his bugged out eyes somewhat off distant as he clutched onto his small backpack. He didn't sleep well last night; his Scary Neighbor came over and told him that he was leaving to take a little vacation. Needless to say, Todd was beyond happy with this, until Scary Neighbor Man bludgeoned his Father's head in with a robot toy. His Father didn't recall the event the next morning, only thought that he had slipped and fell after a drunken night. Todd got the blunt of the blame, and was grounded for the rest of the week.
And it was only Monday…
Todd sighed, lowering his sights down to the streets in front of him in sadness. He guessed it was alright that he was grounded… He didn't have any friends to play with really…
A loud bang from a vehicles muffler ran through the warm spring air, causing Todd to jump in fear at the sudden noise. An old rusted 1950'sChevorelt Pickup drove down the street, the smell of oil entering the small boy's nostrils as his fearful eyes stared at the old Pickup with interest. Boxes and more boxes littered the back of the Pickup as the low rumble of the Pickup entered Todd's ears.
"Hey!"
Todd jumped in fear, screaming in shock seeing the fat bus driver woman glare down at him with hate filled green eyes. She snarled at him, showing her yellowed teeth.
"You gettin' on or what?"
Todd turned to see the old rusted Pickup driving down the road out of his sight. He turned to face the bus driver and see that her face had turned dark as she glared darkly at him. He didn't like the bus driver, she was scary. Maybe he should just walk home from school; it was only twenty blocks away.
A loud screech ran through the air, causing all eyes to turn to the source of it. The old Chevrolet Pickup had turned around without slowing down; speeding up as it came zooming down the street. Todd felt his face lose all its coloring as he watched the truck dive onto the wrong side of the street, speeding up closer and closer to the yellow school bus. The bus driver's face paled, her green eyes widening seeing the Pickup getting closer to them without slowing down. The drive slammed on its brakes, smoke from the tires filling the air along with the screech of the tires digging into the paved road. All the kids on the bus screamed and clung onto one another seeing the Pickup not slowing down fast enough.
Todd screamed and covered his eyes, not wanting to see the head on collision happen before him. This was it, he was done for. It grew quiet, the sound of the tires gone as the smell of burning oil and rubber entered Todd's nostrils. Was he dead? Todd peeked through his fingers slowly, and then dropped his hands completely in shock. The old Pickup was near inches away from the grill of the school bus, smoke lifting into the red sky. Todd lifted his beady eyes up to the old pick up and felt his heart jump to his throat as his eyes widened.
A wide smile was staring back at him, chest nut bangs flowing in the stale heat as the small amount was held back by a twist tie and deep blue sleep deprived eyes stared down at him happily, sweat clinging to the side of her small round face.
He knew that face, that cocky smile and deep blue eyes.
The woman pointed down at Todd with her left index finger, making Todd blink in shock.
"Todd," she asked, her right eyebrow rising slightly.
Todd nodded his head slightly in fear.
She smiled wider at this.
"All be damned, haven't you grown," she laughed, throwing her head back as she barked a harsh laugh.
Todd stared at her as if the woman had grown a second head, his heart beating in his chest. Was it really her? Could this really be the woman?
"Ms. S-Sis," Todd questioned, his brown eyes staring up at the woman in hope. She stopped laughing and turned her eyes down towards him, a small smile forming on her lips. "Is that really you?"
She placed her left hand on her chest, saying with a smile, "The one and only."
Todd released a small smile, his heart beating in his chest.
She glanced to the bus then back to Todd.
"Do you wanna ride with me?" Sis asked, raising an eyebrow at him as she did so. "I think I might have…uh…over done it with my entrance with some people…"
Todd glanced back to the bus, then back to Sis with a squee escaping him. It would seem that the bus driver suffered from a slight heart attack and die after Sis's entrance.
"Yes please," Todd said without second thinking it.
Sis smiled brightly at the child.
"Hop on in then, Squee!"
Todd dashed over to the other side of the truck and got in, slamming the door shut as Sis watched him do so.
"Don't forget to buckle up now," Sis said, tugging at her seatbelt.
"Yes, Ms. Sis."
Todd buckled his seatbelt and then looked back up at Sis.
She smiled widely at him.
"Alrighty then, let's do this!"
Sis slammed her tan leather ankle boot on the gas after putting the truck in reverse, speeding down the street backwards as Squee screamed in udder horror at the ride from hell.
Oh, how Sis missed that little scream.
Lime green spiraled eyes popped out from behind the seat, a wide smile of shark like teeth shining in the sun light with glee, screaming with happiness, "WEEEEEEEEEEE!"
Squee screamed in terror as Sis laughed madly, cars driving out of her way and running into one another in doing so. All was going well; everything was as good as Sis could ask for. Things were looking up for her.
Miss me? There's only one or two more chapters then...
I don't know yet.
Maybe on the last chapter I'll tell you.
R&R for me if you will.
Bye!
