It had been two days since the end of the preliminaries for the chunin exams. Naruto was walking through the village trying to think of someone that could help him improve over the month long gap before the finals. His team had decided to train separately to surprise each other when the time came, Ino and Kiba both were training with their clan's jutsu and Naruto needed a teacher as well. As he walked towards the training grounds, he passed the hot springs where he heard some perverted giggling. Deciding to look into it, he found a white haired man looking through a small hole into the girl's side. As he looked the man over, he realized who the man was, Jiraiya of the sannin and pervert extreme.
One thing Naruto couldn't stand was perverts, so he decided to teach the man a lesson. He made a quick set of hand signs before placing his hands on the ground. "Tangling vines." Vines shot from the trees near the man, taking the man by surprise and knocking him into the wall before lifting him into the tree and holding him there spread eagle. The girls soon came out covered in towels looking for the noise only to find Jiraiya handing from the tree with a bloody nose. Naruto turned and walked off as he gave a small wave over his shoulder. Jiraiya's screams of pain could be heard all across Konoha that evening.
Naruto was sitting in the middle of the training ground meditating when he felt someone's chakra enter the area. Looking around he saw the same guy from earlier stomping toward him with a pissed off look.
"Finally found you gaki. What the hell did you interfere with my research for?" Jiraiya growled out.
"I don't like perverts. You were peeping on the women so I figured they should get some payback. Got a problem with it?" Naruto asked.
"Yeah, you shouldn't interfere with things that don't concern you. Who the hell do you think you are?" Jiraiya asked annoyed at the blond.
"I am Naruto Uzumaki-Namikaze, son of the Yellow Flash and Red Death as well as future hokage of Konoha." Naruto stated staring back at the man's shocked faced confused.
"It can't be, sensei said he died that night with Minato and Kushina." Jiraiya thought. "We need to see the hokage immediately." Jiraiya said as he grabbed Naruto's shoulder and the two disappeared in a swirl of leaves.

It was another boring day for Hiruzen Sarutobi. More and more paperwork was all the old kage had to look forward to, that was until Jiraiya and Naruto appeared in his office. "We need to talk sensei, no visitors, no anbu, just the three of us." Jiraiya said in all seriousness.
Hiruzen made a single hand sign and the four anbu in the room left and Jiraiya placed privacy seals to keep unwanted listeners out. "I see you finally came back to meet your godson Jiraiya."
Jiraiya noticed Naruto's shocked face but turned to the kage. "What the hell do you mean I finally came back? I thought he was dead, I got a letter from you a few nights after the kyuubi attack saying Naruto died with Minato and Kushina."
Now it was Hiruzen's turn to be shocked. "What are you talking about Jiraiya? I never sent you any letter saying Naruto had died with his parents." Jiraiya dug through a pouch and pulled an old letter and gave it to the kage. "I never wrote this Jiraiya, but I have a pretty good idea who did."
"Danzo?" Jiraiya asked.
Hiruzen nodded his head. "He probably sent it to keep you from coming back and taking Naruto from the village with you. He has tried multiple times to get Naruto but I have stopped him each time."
"Can someone please explain what his going on?" Naruto said reminding the other two he was still there.
"My name is Jiraiya, one of the three sannin and your godfather. I run a large spy network so I was out of the village for your birth, but I got a message a few days later saying that you had died with your parents. The envelop said it was from the hokage and I didn't think to look into it. I am so sorry I was never here. When I got the letter, I was devastated and pushed myself into my work to try and ignore the pain from losing the last family I had. Your mother and father meant everything to me and I didn't know what to do when I was told that all three of you died." Jiraiya explained.
"I understand that you were lied to, but that doesn't change anything. You have a lot to make up for, now if you two will excuse me I need to find a teacher for my training." Naruto said as he stood to leave.
"I can teach you, I am a sealing master and teach you some of your father's jutsu." Jiraiya said.
"The only jutsu I still need help with is the hiraishin and adding my elements into the rasengan. When should we start?"
"Meet me at training ground fourteen in the morning at six." Jiraiya said as Naruto nodded and left. Jiraiya then turned to the hokage. "You know Tsunade will be out for blood when she learns that Naruto is still alive, Shizune too. They got the same letter I did when I found them to ask if they had heard."
"I know Jiraiya, I know and we will deal with Tsunade and Danzo after the finals. But on to discussing the invasion next month."

Naruto left the hokage tower and decided to head home and get some rest. On his walk home, he saw two people he knew from when he was younger, Hayate Gekko and Yugao Uzuki, sitting on a park bench. They were talking and both seemed upset as something, he got a little closer and used his enhanced hearing to listen in.
"Yugao-chan, you *cough* know I can't *cough* turn down a *cough* mission from the hokage." Hayate said while rubbing the back of Yugao's hand.
"I know, but you are going to after a Suna ninja and they are supposed to invade next month. What if something happens?" Yugao said on the verge of tears.
"I promise *cough* I will be *cough* careful. I have to *cough* go now. *cough* I love you Yugao-chan." Hayate said before kissing her on the cheek.
"I love you too Hayate-kun. You better come back to me."
Naruto quickly made his way home and started to pack his things. "Going after him aren't you?" Asked Kurama.
"Yugao and Hayate were two of the few who looked after me when I was little. I won't let anything happen to either one of them." Naruto replied to the fox.
"What about training with that perverted godfather of yours?"
"Not a problem. Shadow clone jutsu." Naruto said and made a single clone. "I gave you half my chakra, don't waste it and try to keep yourself around until I return." The clone nodded to the original and Naruto left to follow after Hayate.
"Are you sure the clone will last?" Kurama asked.
"I hope so but if not then I will deal with the results when we get back with Hayate." Naruto replied.

Naruto had been following Hayate around for two days making sure not to alert the special jonin. Naruto had followed him to Kikyo Castle where Hayate had managed to lose Naruto. Naruto was searching all over the castle for any sign of the jonin.
"Ten o'clock direction kit, I can feel your friend's chakra. There is also one more there with him." Kurama said.
Naruto nodded and headed off in that direction hoping Hayate was ok. When Naruto arrived, he saw a Suna ninja, he realized was Baki the sensei of Gaara's team, standing over a kneeling and badly bleeding Hayate. The Suna ninja raised his blade to strike Hayate down as Naruto made a set of hand signs.
"Mokuton: wood locking wall." Naruto shouted as he slammed his hands on the ground and roots shot from the ground and formed a dome over Hayate saving him from being sliced. Baki and Hayate both were surprised as the interference. Naruto landed beside Hayate and helped him stand.
"Naruto, what are you doing here?" Hayate asked without the cough since Naruto knew the cough was just an act anyways to fool the enemy into thinking he was weak.
"I overheard you and Yugao-chan talking and she seemed really upset. You two were there for me when I was younger so I decided to follow you and make sure you returned to her safely." Naruto replied with a smirk as he created two wood clones and had one turn into Hayate. The two leaf ninja then leaped away from the fight leaving the two clones.
The Naruto clone lowered the wood wall to find Baki still standing there along with Kabuto. "Ah, Naruto. I didn't expect to see you around here. You know you both are going to die right?" Kabuto asked with a small smile.
"Yeah right, like I would let the snake teme's play toy hurt me or one of my friends." Naruto replied.
"What do you plan on doing Naruto? Even if you do make it out of here alive, Konoha won't be ready for the invasion in time. Just stay still and I will make this quick and painless." Kabuto said as his hand started glowing blue.
"We will make it out of here alive and Konoha will be ready. I just have one question first, how did you manage to get away from Ibiki?"
"That's a secret Naruto and must remain that way." Kabuto replied but noticed something was off, the two leaf ninja hadn't tried attacking once yet. "Why haven't either of you moved to attack or try to escape."
Naruto and Hayate both gained a smirk as they got the mental command from the original. "Why you ask? Because we already left, we are simply clones left by the original to stall you so they could escape. See you in a month Kabuto." The clone said before disappearing in a poof of smoke.
Kabuto and Baki stood there staring at the place where the clones were. "What the hell are we supposed to do now?" Baki growled out looking at Kabuto.
"Stick to the plan, all they know is that we are invading. They don't know everything and there is no way they will be ready in time. I must go and report to lord Orochimaru." Kabuto said as he turned and left.

"Thank you Naruto. You really saved me back there. I'm guessing no one knows that you left the village." Hayate asked as the duo continued tree hopping back to Konoha as quickly as possible.
"No, I made a clone to take my place until I returned. I wasn't going to let anything happen to one of my precious people and I didn't want Yugao-chan to be upset if something happened to you. Can we keep this between us?" Naruto replied.
"I am going to tell Yugao-chan but I promise I won't tell anyone else, it's the least I can do for you." Hayate said as the village came into view in the distance. "Meet me and Yugao-chan tomorrow evening at Ichiraku's and I'll treat you to a bowl of ramen. That way Yugao-chan can thank you as well, as I'm sure she will want to."
Naruto nodded as he left Hayate to sneak back into the village. When Naruto made it home, he found his clone reading over a fuinjutsu book. Dispelling his clone, he received the memories and was quite surprised how much more he knew after a few days of training under Jiraiya. At this rate, he knew he would have more than one surprise for the village to see at the finals.

Naruto was hopping across the roofs on his way to Ichiraku's to meet up with Hayate and Yugao. As he neared the ramen stand, he landed in the road and walked the last little bit. Walking through the flaps to the small stand, he was immediately pulled into a hug.
"Thank you Naruto, thank you so much for making sure Hayate was safe. We owe you." Yugao whispered in his ear.
"You owe me nothing Yugao-chan, you and Hayate both are precious people to me. I will do whatever I can to protect my precious people which is what I did for Hayate." Naruto said as he and Yugao set back down beside Hayate. "I only have about thirty minutes before I need to get back to training with Jiraiya."
"You got one*cough* of the sannin to train you?" Hayate asked.
"Yeah, turns out he is my godfather and he is currently helping me with some of my father's jutsu." Naruto replied while he began eating his ramen.
This news shocked both the older ninja. "Where has he been then?" Yugao asked a little angry with the toad sage.
"He was told that I died along with my parents the night Kurama attacked the village." Naruto said. The two ninja then tried thinking of who would have told him that. "An old mummy sent out fake letters saying they were from jiji, Jiraiya never returned to check it out since he thought he lost the last of those he considered family." Naruto said answering the unasked question.
"If you need*cough* any help with *cough* anything, let us *cough* know Naruto. We would be happy to help." Hayate said getting Naruto to nod.
"I hate to eat and run, but I need to get back to training. I still have a lot to do before the finals, it ought to be a real surprise for the village." Naruto said with a laugh.
Hayate and Yugao watched Naruto leave, Hayate then looked to his lover. "I have *cough* feeling Hokage-sama *cough* is going to have *cough* a lot of paper work soon."
"I agree Hayate-kun, but it will be hard for all of us with everything that is supposed to happen next month." Yugao said as her and Hayate paid and left.

Naruto was roof hopping through the crowded village on his way to the stadium. Today was the day that the finals began and he was excited to show everyone what he could do. He had trained for the last month nonstop to make sure he was ready for today. He was also excited to see how much better his friends had gotten since he hadn't seen them in the month long break.
As he neared the entrance for the competitor's entrance, he was stopped when he heard a familiar voice call out. "Naruto-kun!" As Naruto turned around he was tackled by a purple and blond blur that crashed into him causing both to fall.
"I missed you Naruto-kun." Ino said as she brought her lips down to Narutos and captured them in a kiss.
After Ino released his lips, Naruto smiled at the beautiful on top of him. "I missed you too Ino. How have you been?" Naruto asked as he got up with her.
"I've been good, dad and Anko-nee-chan helped me with my jutsus and taijutsu over the break. It helped out a lot but both of them were brutal." Ino replied before once again capturing Naruto's lips.
"Just couldn't wait till after the exams for all the kissing." Said a voice from behind them, they both looked to see Kiba and Akamaru.
"Hey man, how have you been?" Naruto asked as he and Kiba bumped fist and Akamaru got petted by Ino.
"Pretty good, although my mom and sister are fucking slave drivers when it comes to training." Kiba replied. "So are you all ready for this?" Kiba asked.
"As ready as we'll ever be." Naruto replied before a small, light black fox jumped into his arms. "Sachi, did you or the others find anything?"
"Hibiki and Shiro found the body of the fourth Kazekage dead on one of the roads leading into Konoha about ten miles from here." Sachi explained causing the three teens eyes to widen.
"So he will be up there with jiji then. Sachi, go and let jiji know and keep this from Anko, we don't need her going after the snake-teme right now. Also tell him that knowing Kakashi-sensei, Sasuke will be late and he shouldn't disqualify him. If Orochimaru wants Sasuke, then we will need his fight against Gaara." Naruto said getting a nod from Sachi.
Naruto then led his team into the stadium and walked to a corner where he could feel Hayate and Yugao hiding in the shadows. "Taka-san, Neko-chan, the snake is here and disguised as the Kazekage. I have sent a summons to inform Hokage-sama." Naruto whispered before leaving.
"So what should we do Naruto?" Ino asked as they made it to the competitor's box.
"Nothing yet, just go with everything the way it is for now. Everyone knows that the invasion will happen sometime during the exams. It is just a waiting game now for them to start." Naruto said as he leaned against the railing next to Ino as others began filing in.
"What about Hokage-sama, are you sure he'll be fine?" Kiba asked.
"I know he will. He's been training with something special just for today. Besides, Zabuza and Jiraiya both are disguised as anbu and are right there with him." Naruto explained.
Naruto looked around the stands at all the civilians and ninja wondering where the Suna and Oto ninjas were. It was only a matter of time before chaos broke out and the invasion of Konoha would begin.
Well there's chapter 11, I hope you all enjoyed. I am sorry for the long break, I have been busy with work and had some things that took priority over my writing to deal with. I have two other stories I'm working on so the update for my stories will be random, just depends on which one I want to update and when.
Also, I know the mokuton can control the bijuu or subdue it or whatever, but that won't happen in this story. It would be no fun if Naruto just went and grew some trees and stopped Gaara without a fight. So no bijuu taming trees in this story. Anyway I hope you enjoyed and leave a review.
