W.R. Winters: Why are you thanking our readers now? It's not the end yet.

DawnForever101: I just feel like it! I'm sooo happy! *smiles widely*

W.R. Winters: Okay, while my partner here gets over her…weird trance here…let's begin! We don't own Pokémon and we hope you enjoy this chapter.

-*X*x*X*-

She couldn't believe it. She was falling in love with Ash. She sighed contentedly. The feeling was like no other and it was all so much clearer now. This was the reason why she couldn't stop thinking about him, or continued caring about him. Her heart began beating out of her chest. She had a warm feeling in her heart, a strong feeling of affection for Ash, but in a more romantic way. Johanna watched her daughter from the view mirror.

"Dawn, what in the world are you daydreaming about?" She asked, noticing her sense of trance. Dawn kept smiling, lost in her thoughts.

"DAWN!" She called out more loudly and Dawn jumped in her seat, frightened.

"Huh?"

"Dawn, sweetie, you were completely lost in your thoughts! What were you thinking about?"

She blinked, "Oh, just about school, that's it! Yeah, there's this dance coming up soon for winter and I'm really excited." She lied.

"Oh, who are you going with? Ash?" Johanna asked. Dawn flinched. She would have never thought she would've guessed Ash, knowing that she and Ash were just friends. What Johanna didn't know, was that Dawn secretly uncovered her true feelings.

"Mom, we're just friends! And I'm going with…Paul." She gulped saying his name. She even shuddered a little. Her mother was unaware of Paul's true character. Johanna smiled.

"Well, I hope you have fun, Dawn. It's always nice to have a little exposure to these events."

Dawn was really looking forward to the dance, but she deeply regretted going with Paul. She wished in her heart that it was Ash instead. But she frowned. She had almost forgotten that Ash had sworn to never love again. Was it worthless to fall in love with Ash now? No, it couldn't-it just couldn't! There had to be a way to regain Ash's trust and compassion in love. She had to do something to show him that love really doesn't hurt if you're with the right person.

She suddenly realized what she needed to do: pay a visit to a certain little honey blonde. Serena. She was the reason for this sudden abrupt change in Ash. She was the only one who could reform him to his original self.

"Mom, could we take a detour? I want to talk to Serena."

"Oh, but, honey dinner is already made and is on the table at home." Johanna said.

"Mom, it's really important!" Dawn insisted. Johanna looked at her in the view mirror and saw her eyes, which looked rather serious. She sighed.

"Alright, dear, but be home before 6, ok?" Dawn nodded.

"Dawn, what are you doing here?" Serena asked as she saw Dawn on her front door.

"What, can't I visit my cousin for the day?" She asked randomly.

"It's great that you're here although you rarely visit me…anyways come on in." Serena said and Dawn entered.

"Where's your mom?" Dawn asked.

"Oh, she went out for a while, she'll be back though. Anyways, what's up?" Serena asked.

"I have something important to discuss with you and I really hope you understand." Dawn started.

"Okay.." Serena said, waiting for her to tell her what was so important.

"It's about Ash!" Dawn blurted. Serena's eyes widened.

"What about Ash?" She asked, curious. "Is he hurt or anything?"

"Well, actually, yes, Serena, he is hurt! He's not hurt physically, but rather emotionally, due to a prick that's been piercing his skin since the last 2 months or so." Dawn said. Serena's eyes widened once again.

"Dawn, can you please stop beating around the bush? I hate when people talk like that!" Serena said, while stealing a glance at the mirror to look at herself.

"Serena, because of you, Ash is in a fix! He's hurting inside and you know it. You pretended to love him and left him for Clemont. How could you?! I thought you were better than this. I'm not mad that you didn't tell me, I'm furious that you cheated on him! Don't you realize what you've done to him?"

Serena gasped. She knows. Serena had always felt guilty for what she did to Ash.

"Dawn, believe me, I've always regretted what I did to Ash and I even apologized to Ash one day…but it only made things worse. Trust me, I am so sorr-"

"It's your fault that Ash is in this condition! Because of you, he's promised to never love again! He can't forget things in a split second, Serena and forgive you. I've known him for not so long, and I know he's hurting and it's all because of you." Dawn interrupted. Serena had tears in her eyes.

"I know, Dawn, I know. I-I want to show him I sorry I am, but I just can't Every time I look at him, I see pain in his eyes and I don't have the guts to face him. Please believe me Dawn, I tried everything to apologize to him, and nothing has worked. He sees pain every time he sees me and so do I." Serena said, in between tears. Dawn looked up in her eyes and saw that she was truly regretting her actions.

"I don't know what else to do, Dawn. I hate to see Ash like this." Serena said.

"But why did you do this, Serena? Why did you cheat on Ash like that?" Dawn asked.

"True love, Dawn. True love." Dawn was bewildered.

"At first, when I was going out with Ash, I thought everything was great. Ash liked me and I liked him back. Our relationship was starting off to be of a good start. I thought I was in love with Ash, but I realized I was wrong. After a while, everything faded-the love, the feelings, the hope-everything. I realized that I wasn't in love with Ash at all. I would have told him, but I never had the guts to. Then, I met Clemont, and I fell in love with him. I felt everything I didn't with Ash. I felt alive and he keeps me happy and I'm happy to have found a guy like him."

"That is the most-" Dawn was interrupted.

"Oh, come on, Dawn! Haven't you ever fallen in love before?" Serena asked. Dawn blushed. She was now exposed to her inner feelings about Ash. In this situation, Serena's excuse was understandable.

"Please, try and understand, I-"

"I understand, Serena."

"Huh? You do?" Serena asked. Dawn nodded. Serena sighed with happiness.

"Thank you, Dawn! You have no idea how happy I am!"

"Dawn, what should I do? I really want to make Ash realize how sorry I am."

"Don't worry, Serena. I'm Ash's friend. He's promised to never love again. If he keeps seeing you, he's hurting. That's why, I'm going to make him realize that love isn't so bad."

"Yeah, that's a great idea. You can be the one to reform him back to his original self. You're his friend. But how are you going to do this?" Serena asked.

"I have my ways. Trust me, Serena, I'll make Ash realize what a stupid promise he made to himself." She smiled and immediately hugged Dawn.

"Thank you, you're the best Dawn! I don't know what I would have done without you!" Serena said.

The next day at school, which was one day before the winter dance, arrived and almost everyone was talking about the winter dance. Almost everyone had dates to the dance and this was the topic of everyone in the entire school.

"Wow, I never knew Gary and Misty became a couple." May said.

"Yeah, that came out of nowhere, but I guess it was bound to happen anyway." Dawn said.

"I know that this question is going to annoy you, but why on earth are you going with Paul tomorrow? You know how he is, Dawn!" May exclaimed. She was really scared for Dawn. Dawn couldn't risk telling May, despite how good of a friend she was. She suddenly saw Ash.

"Uhh, talk to you later, May!" Dawn said before May could react and sprinted towards Ash.

"Oh, Dawn.." May whispered to herself.

"Uh, hi Ash." Dawn greeted while slightly smiling.

"Hey, Dawn, what's up?"

"I was just wondering if you were going to the dance tomorrow. I mean, do you have a date?" Dawn asked. Ash's face fell a little.

"No, I'm just going to stay home tomorrow. I couldn't bother to go these events anyway." Ash said. Dawn whined.

"Ash, come on! It'll be fun, and plus, it's not like its prom or anything. Besides, what would you do home, anyway?"

"But I don't even have a date." Ash shrugged.

"So? Iris doesn't have a date, and she's still going. Please, Ash? For me?" Dawn politely asked, hoping he would give in. Ash sighed.

"Alright, I guess I could come." He sighed in defeat. Dawn cheered.

"Awesome, yay! Thanks Ash! Trust me, this dance will be memorable." Dawn said. Ash lifted an eyebrow.

"Memorable? What do you mean, it's just a dance."

"Trust me. It will be." Dawn said, smirking a little before heading to class, leaving a bewildered Ash.

"What could Dawn mean by 'memorable'?" Ash asked no one in particular. He was in Math class, seated next to Dawn as usual, and hoped she didn't hear him. He shrugged it off and proceeded to work on his math test.

When Free Period came, Avy got a hold on to Ash and tried to tell him about Dawn.

"Dude, I need to talk to you." Avy said.

"Ok, sure, what is it?"

"It's about Dawn. Have you heard that she's going with Paul to the dance tomorrow?" Avy asked.

"Yeah, to be honest, I'm really shocked to hear that. Out of all people, why Paul, the person who is an absolute-"

"Exactly! Why would she go with him? Do you have any idea?" Avy asked.

"No, but she told me that everything would be fine." Ash said. He really hoped so.

"Well, whatever the reason is, I hope she stays safe."

"Me too."

The day was finally over and the girls decided to go shopping for the necessary preparations for the dance tomorrow. Everyone was eager for it, except for Dawn. She wished the day would go sooner, so she could get over the dance as soon as possible.

"Dawn, what do you think of this dress?" May asked, holding the dress in her hand. It was a black gown, with spaghetti straps, that had a cute silver buckle just in the midst of the dress, and a belt that could be tied behind.

"It's hot, I'm pretty sure Drew would love it…and you." Dawn smirked.

"Dawn, don't make me blush.." May giggled as she went to try on the dress.

Dawn sighed while looking at the dresses. What was the point? But what she was going to do for Ash tomorrow made her a little eager for tomorrow night.

Leaf, Misty, and Iris approached Dawn soon and they saw her smiling.

"Dawn, what are you thinking about?" Misty asked. Dawn turned around.

"Oh, just…about what dress I should wear for tomorrow. There are so many options and they all look so beautiful." Dawn said.

"Well, I can help with that, no worries!" Leaf chirped as she searched through different styles of dresses. "Ooh, what about this one? This is really cute and I think it suits you and your personality." She said as she took out the dress to show her.

It was a dark blue royal dress, which went all the way down to her knees with straps and had a black lace on the back of it. Dawn smiled.

"Leaf, you're a life saver!" She squealed before thanking her and going on to try the dress. As she went in the trial room, she began to ponder on tomorrow's event. She couldn't hold back and began to smile and soon blush.

Hopefully, it could change Ash's decision.
