Chapter 11 is finally here! About time too... Let us celebrate the beautiful Marluxia and his fabulous pink hair! ^ ^
-laughs nervously- I'm truly sorry about the wait... I honestly don't have no excuses whatsoever. I feel so horrible. I don't think this chapter will make up for it but oh well...
Enjoy?
The Shadows came out of nowhere, attacking so suddenly catching Aqua off guard. One of the heartless managed to claw her arm and was about to strike again but the keyblade bearer blocked the attack; a flash of light signaling her keyblade was summoned. She let out a battle cry and attacked the Shadows, one single thing in her mind. They're here for Kairi.
Kairi had so much light inside her heart and it hadn't struck Aqua that the heartless would be attracted by it until now. She's like a giant lighthouse… The Shadows were easy to beat, one swing from her weapon and they were gone.
But the heartless didn't stop coming. Shadows were appearing along with Neoshadows. The bigger heartless hissed with delight, knowing that their meal was right in front of them. Aqua gritted her teeth, not slowing down her attacks. It was no use, they kept on coming from all directions hissing and snarling. The Keyblade Master wouldn't have worried as much but her leg was beginning to slow her down, some of the heartless attacks began to land.
Aqua grunted, standing above Kairi keyblade in hand. Where's Dei? She wondered, glancing around. He was nowhere to be seen.
…
The hooded figure managed to summon a dark corridor and escape without being seen by the Keyblade Master. He was relieved. The heartless interrupted their small conversation that would've blown his cover. The figure knew his mission wasn't done so he didn't leave the Realm of Darkness. Instead, he watched from a distance.
A small smirk formed on the figure's lips as he watched the keyblade bearers get ambushed. His was job was to prevent them from leaving yet he barely lifted a finger to do it. The heartless were nice enough to step in. "Ah, life is great isn't?" he murmured to himself. They were probably going to die but that didn't matter.
Fool!
The figure jumped, letting out a small yelp of surprise.
What do you think you're doing?!
The figure gulped, recognizing the voice. "I-I'm d-doing my j-job, sir…" he stammered.
The voice growled, sounding annoyed and angry. Your mission was to prevent them from leaving the Realm, not kill them, idiot!
"Well i-isn't it s-still t-the s-s-same thing" he squeaked.
NO! The figure jumped. You know what the objective is! We must use that keyblade bearer to do it and the only way to do that is to-
The figure sighed. "I know, I know. You've repeated it like a thousand of times…" he muttered.
WHAT WAS THAT?! SPEAK LOUDER!
"N-Nothing!"
…Good, now go.
"Y-Yes, sir!"
…
Kairi was beginning to feel weak, her legs trembling with exhaustion. Maybe I should lay down…yeah, a nap sounds nice… The princess felt her eyelids droop but she instantly opened them again. No!
Namine had her eyes closed in deep concentration. "Fight it, Kairi. Gather all the light you have." She whispered.
The redhead nodded weakly, trying her hardest. The small ball of light had now become the size of a bowling ball, shining brightly. Kairi didn't know how much strength she had left. She felt tired, so tired. Must…fight…back… The princess had to or risk the chance of falling into the darkness.
"N-Namine…" Kairi managed to gasp out.
Her Nobody glanced at her.
"Why are…you doing…this?"
Namine tilted her head. "What do you mean?"
"I mean…if I fall into darkness…then you'll…be whole again…"
A sad smile formed on Namine's lips. "Nobodies aren't meant to exist, Kairi. Besides, I don't want to be real…there's nothing for me…but you do have something. Your friends, something I never had…" The Nobody sighed. "Don't worry about me, you are more important. A Princess of Heart while I'm just a witch."
Kairi shook her head. "Everyone is important…"
The ball of light shone again, growing a bit larger.
…
"Sora, are you crying?" Donald asked, watching the teen.
"Huh?" Sora touched his cheek softly, feeling something wet. "That's strange…" The same thing happened when I was in the Sleeping Worlds…
"Are you okay?" Goofy asked worriedly. Sora chuckled, wiping away the tear. "Yeah, I'm fine. Don't know why I'm crying though." Donald rolled his eyes. "It's probably because he misses Kairi." He teased.
The young keyblade bearer's cheeks turned pink. "D-Donald!" Sora whined with embarrassment. Goofy chuckled. "Looks like you were right, Donald! Hyuck!" The two animals then burst out laughing while Sora could just glare at them before joining in as well.
"Okay…maybe you're right. I haven't seen her." Sora looked outside the window of the Gumi Ship. "I really miss her…"
"Aw shucks, you'll see her soon," Goofy reassured his human friend. Sora nodded. "Yeah, I just hope she's alright…" I miss you, Kairi. You'll pass your exam, I'm sure. The boy closed his eyes. Just don't give up. I'm counting on you. So are Riku and the others. I…I love you…
The brunette's thoughts were interrupted by Donald who quacked, "We're approaching a world, guys!" Sora and Goofy made their way to the duck in front of the ship. The three friends examined the world. It seemed normal. It had a gigantic city, vast country side, and rural villages. "That looks like a good place to start. It's huge, a good place for heartless to hide and cause trouble." Sora assumed, turning to Donald and Goofy.
"Then let's go!" Donald cried and began to push buttons.
"Prepare for landing!"
…
I'm counting on you. So are Riku and the others. I…I love you…
"S-Sora?" Kairi murmured, hearing his voice in her head. It's just me, I guess I miss him. The princess shook her head, getting back to the task at hand. I shouldn't be worrying about other things, I have to concentrate! But Kairi couldn't help but smile at the thought of Sora telling her that.
I love you.
Kairi felt a new surge of strength flow in her, causing her to gasp in astonishment. As it did, the ball of light continued to grow, stopping on the females' shoulders. "Did Sora lend you some of his light?" Namine asked, also shocked at the increase of power.
Kairi shrugged. "I-I don't know… It felt as if he was speaking to me…" Her cheeks turned pink.
"He must have,"
"Yeah, I guess…" Kairi then heard another voice. I can't fight like this. Kairi, I'm sorry…
"Aqua?!" The princess glanced around, realizing that it was in her head. "What is it?" the Nobody asked. Kairi bit her lip. "Aqua…I think she's in trouble. I have to wake up!" Kairi replied, shutting her eyes again tightly. Fighting the darkness is difficult but I…can do it!
The light shined even brighter, consuming Kairi and Namine, surrounding the area around them. The darkness hissed, evaporating when the light touched it. It then subsided, the darkness officially gone. Kairi gasped. "We…we did it!" the princess exclaimed turning to her Nobody. Namine was fading once again. "Namine, I-" Kairi started but the blonde merely shook her head. "I already told you, Kairi. You are the more important one…"
"No," Kairi firmly said but it was already too late. Namine was gone once again.
