welp here's a new chapter sorry about the wait...
Collins woke up to an uncomfortably hot room in the middle of summer. He was happy to finally be done with teaching for right now so he can focus on whats really important: Angel's health. His health hung so delicately in balance some days, or even weeks he couldn't get out of bed, or even sit up. Other days, however, he would be strong enough to make it all the way to Mark and Roger's loft.
Collins sat up and threw the covers off it was way too hot today. He looked over to Angel's side of the bed only to see him shivering, never a good sign but still a very common thing now.
"Baby?" he mustered up a happy voice, but got now response. "Angelcake, we can't sleep all day."
The smaller, much weaker man stirred and slowly opened an eye.
"Hmmmmm?" he stretched seeming grumpy, "whaaaaaa?"
"Let's get some breakfast?" Collins ran his fingers through his lovers hair.
"Not hungay."
Collins spotted new lesions all over his body. "Um, baby you feeling ok?
A simple nod was all he got, deep down Angel knew the truth. He felt awful this is probably the worst he's ever felt. Nausea, dizzy, shaky, weak, hot, cold, if its a symptom of being horribly ill, he felt it. But he wouldn't accept it, all he wanted was some fresh air and shake it all off.
"Are you sure?"
"Ya, I thank we shoulll gofur a walk."
Collins smiled from ear to ear, "You feel that good, huh?"
"A lil laght haded I think we shoulll get sam food from the l-life cafy."
Collins was so excited, he couldn't remember the last time they went out to eat. Going out was normally a bad idea, there was too many people and people carried germs, and with Angel in his condition it wasn't the smartest. But, he was in denial his love was "better," or at least he claimed to be.
This could be it! Collins thought. He could be getting better now, maybe the worst part's over. Oh god, I hope so!
He leaned forward and gave his love a quick kiss on the cheek.
"I'm gonna call the gang, I'm sure they'll love to see you and get a good meal in them."
Angel just nodded and watched him run out of the room, he was so happy. He felt fine, or so he told himself. He was happy and ready to see the world again and all his friends, or so he told himself. There were fights going on, Mimi was off with Benny and she's shooting up again, which makes Roger mad. So he takes it out on Mark, so he goes to find comfort with Joanne and Maureen, who are fighting all the time. This wasn't what he wanted for his friends.
"Hey baby!"Collins shouted from the other room. "They're gonna get ready and meet us there in half an hour."
"M'kay!" He shouted back.
Time to get ready.
Angel sat up and immediately regret it. His head felt like it was being crushed, his breath got short, his vision went fuzzy. This wasn't good, at all. It took a minute but everything calmed down he was still very dizzy and his vision wasn't completely clear but now at least he could see.
Okay, okay, I'm fine, I can get through this. I just need a drink, and some air, and something for my head then, I'll be good. He tried to convince himself.
Very, very slowly he got out of bed. He was weak, cold, and shakey.
"Colluzz!" He called.
"Ya baby? what's up?" he came running into the room, tooth brush in hand.
"Oh nevvrve mine" Angel shook his head.
"No, wha?" Collins continued to brush his teeth.
"my had hurts, Can I haf sam wather?"
"Some what?"
"Wather..." He said a bit louder.
"wather? wather... Oh, water! sorry baby" he ran off to get a cup.
"No yo don'th hafta" he tried but it was too late collins was already back. "yur too sweat."
Collins laughed a little "Sweet." he corrected.
"oh, thweet."
"close enough."
Angel took the cup and some aspirin that had been on the night stand hoping it would relieve a few symptoms. Now all he had to to was breathe deep and get ready, which would turn out to be easier than he thought. He was so afraid something would go wrong, he might fall, or faint, or throw up. Luckily, none of that happened he was able to shower and dress without help. Angel started to feel like his old self again until, he looked in the mirror. There was a pale, dying, lesion covered skeleton staring at him. The simple boy clothes he wore today only added to how miserable he felt.
Ok I can fix this, he thought. Just some foundation, a lil concealer and there i look just like me again.
He looked in the mirror the color didnt match his skin any more but at least he didn't look as bad.
Alright as long as i don't sweat too much I'll be ok. I mean, I'm fine, I'm not sick I just don't look as good as normal.
Overwhelming nausea suddenly hit him, he leaned over the sink ready for anything. But, to his satisfaction and some deep breaths nothing came up, no violent heaving or anything. He looked in the mirror and smiled, See I didn't even throw up! I''m not sick not one bit!
"Hey, baby?" Collins knocked on the door. "You almost done in there?"
"Ya juss a mint."
Collins chucked and wandered away from the door, "Ok well hurry! Cause I'm hungry."
Angel looked himself over in the mirror one more time semi pleased with his outfit. He had lost so much weight his clothes didn't fit anymore they hang from his body and threaten to swallow him whole. Well, it didn't look that bad but that how he felt it look and no one could convince him differently.
"oh wall" he sighed and left.
They walked down the street towards the restaurant Angel struggled to keep up with Collins quick excited pace. He was starting to shake more and more, and had trouble keeping his breathing steady and hide everything from Collins. Thankfully they had to wait at a lot of cross walks Angel would take the opportunity to rest on his lover.
" You feeling ok, baby? He asked rubbing the smaller man's back all he got in response was a nod. "You feel a little warm."
"Em fine juss thired i halve unt worked out thas much en a will."
"I'm glad you're feeling better."
They made it to the cafe and found their friends immediately pulled up a table and some extra chairs and sat down. Everyone looked angry but that was to be expected it still broke Angel's heart. It's been a while since they all seen him and when Mark laid his eyes on him his jaw dropped.
"Hi evvrywan" he managed a small smile.
"Hi girl! how have you been!" Mimi smiled and reached out for his hand.
"Pretty gawd."
Mark, Collins, and Mimi tried to have some small talk and keep the conversation going but it was hard the tension was thick. Joanne kept rolling her eyes and sighing as Maureen flirted with the waitress, the guys at the other table, and well just anyone with a pulse. Roger stayed quiet obviously mad about something. Angel tries his best to listen but his pulse was ringing in his ears, he couldn't focus on anything, it felt like there was a huge weight on his chest not allowing him to get enough air. This was not good but he'd felt like this before though, it scared Collins so bad, but everything turned out ok.
"Uh, hello?" Mark said again trying to get Angel's attention.
"What? Surry" He shook his head thinking it'll help but it only gave him a migraine.
"I said how's your drumming doing?"
"Oh, I half unt ban able to drumn for a will."
Roger slammed his fist on the table, "Jesus, Mark, no shit. Why would you ask that? Look at him, he's fucking half dead and you ask something like that."
Everyone stared at him in disbelief, he finally spoke and in the worst way possible said what was on everyone's mind.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" Mimi hissed.
Angel rubbed his eyes not ready for this, the medicine he had taken earlier was wearing off his fever was back and it was making him shiver and sweat.
"Angel?" Mark asked. "A-Are you wearing make-up?"
FUCK! He internally yelled at himself for rubbing his face.
Only proving Roger's point further he was dying. "Look at him, Mimi!" he pointed. "He's DYING."
Collins couldn't listen to this, his stomach was in knots, his Angel was fine. he couldn't listen to another word he got up and took off out the door. Maureen and Joanne ran off right after him. Angel tried to stand but his knees gave in, the room was too hot and spinning, there was no way he was going to be able to run.
"Look what you did!" Mimi stood up and kicked his chair.
"What I did? I didn't do a thing! I told the truth. Angel's gonna die young, I'm gonna die young, and you're gonna die young and u can't do a thing about it."
"Guys?" mark said rather soft trying to get their attention.
"Fucking hell! you don't think I know that? I'm trying to be positive you sulking fuck!"
"Guys." Mark said a bit louder.
"Oh, yes cause that's who you are Mimi, the little ray of sunshine! You've never done a bad thing in you're life!"
Mimi grabbed her drink ready to throw it at him.
"GUYS!" Mark shouted.
"WHAT?" they screamed at him.
Angel was standing leaning most of his weight back on the table, he was swaying really bad, and his breathing was labored. The three of them stared at him horrified as if the world had stopped. Angel lifted up he head ready to take a step, he could barely see, everything was fuzzy, and his skin was clammy, but he had to get Collins. He took one step and that was it, everything went black.
Mimi, Mark, and Roger watched in slow motion as their friend fell to the ground unconscious.
