Another week passed, and Levi would let Eren come closer than he's used to. Bit by bit, Levi was discovering his limits and trying to let Eren in. He's finally realized Eren wasn't that bad at all. The teenager was just a simple person who wanted him to be happy.
It was a Sunday and Eren woke up early. He was surprised to see Levi's bedroom door was still closed. Levi wasn't the kind of person to sleep until after 10AM. He would usually get up quite early and sit at his kitchen table, sipping from a cup of tea in his bathrobe. But now, Levi hadn't even woken up yet.
Eren stood in the middle of the hallway, wondering if he should knock and enter the room to check if Levi really was still asleep. If he did so, there would be a chance for him to get his face shoved against a wall. But if he didn't, he would never know what was happening in there…maybe Levi wasn't even in his room anymore.
Being a reckless brat, Eren decided to knock on the door before he slowly pushed it open. He didn't enter yet, he just glanced inside to see if there were any movements. No movements. Only sounds. Sounds that made the teenager frown.
It were sounds produced by Levi. To Eren it wasn't sure if he was having a nasty dream, or if he was just pleasuring himself. Eren could only register things that sounded like mumbles and mewls. Sometimes, he could hear Levi moving under his sheets. What even was going on with the adult?
Levi laid curled up under his covers, not really lying on his side, but sort of leaning on his knees and his elbows. Sometimes he would fall back on his side, producing sounds from his throat that didn't really have a definition. The only thing Eren was sure of, were the pants he could hear. Between te series of mewls and whines, Levi was actually panting as if he was running.
It was so tempting for Eren to get inside and wake Levi up, or ask him what was wrong. But he decided to wait a little longer to investigate the situation. He wanted to be sure about what was going on in there before he actually made a move.
"Nngh!" Levi gasped as he rolled back in his bed once more. It must be a strange view from where Eren was standing, but in fact he was just having a terrible dream. A dream which involved the one he once loved the most, his first relationship and his abuser. He wasn't involved in it, but he was watching it and in this case…it was just as bad as being involved in what his abusers were doing to his only decent partner.
Eren frowned once the adult had stopped moving. Did he wake up at last? Or released himself…if that was what he was doing? Eren didn't know. He just kept an eye on the adult's body as he slid inside the room and made his way over the bed. Stepping closer, the teenager caught soft sobbing noises.
"Levi?" Eren whispered as he crawled on the bed and laid down to a tiny shaking ball that's supposed to be Levi. He wrapped himself around the other male and pulled him close, knowing there was a risk the adult would punch him. But that didn't happen. Levi didn't even resist. He just continued sobbing and curled up just that little bit more, leaning against Eren's torso.
Levi's eyes were pressed close, as if he can't escape from this nightmare. He kept on whining and mumbling, ignoring Eren's hug. He was caught in his own mind and couldn't get out. It was Eren's job to try and soothe him. He tried to do so by moving one of his hands up to the adult's head. He ran his fingers through Levi's hair in a gentle way while moving his head up so he could give him a tender kiss on the cheek, whispering soothing words right in his ear.
"Hey, Levi…you'll be fine. It's me, Eren. Nothing's happening to you, okay? You're safe with me, I promise…I'm not letting anyone touch you as long as I'm around you…"
Levi was calming down. At least, the shaking had stopped and he had finally opened his eyes. His breathing was fast and heavy and he had his hands clinging onto Eren's arm with a firm grip. "E-Eren?" he asked in a whispering tone, turning his head so he could see the teenager. His eyes were filled with fear and it broke Eren's heart. What made Levi suddenly so vulnerable and scared?
"It's okay now," the brunette whispered, leaning back and giving Levi the opportunity to move away from his tiny ball and face Eren. The adult didn't hesitate and immediately clung onto Eren, who wrapped his arms around him and held him in a close hug. "It'll be fine, Levi," Eren repeated when he noticed Levi was tugging at his shirt.
"He's there. He's always out there somewhere. Watching me, Eren! He won't leave me alone and I can't run or hide! He even got at her, didn't he? He did to her what he did to me and this time I couldn't stop him! I've saved her all those times but he fucking touched her, Eren! I'm worthless!"
Levi was muttering things that didn't even matter to Eren, who just stared at him and kept running his soothing fingers through the adult's hair. "Levi…it was just a dream, okay?"
"No! It wasn't! It was real!"
"Levi! Snap out of it! You had a nasty dream, okay?"
Levi didn't say anything. He just stared at Eren, his breathing still fast and his eyes itching because of the tears. He was doubting himself, not sure at all whether Eren was a dream or his reality.
What if Eren really was a dream? What if all of this was just a dream?
Short chapter, because I'm busy with my exams, I hope you like it (:
