"why are you so angry? I spoke the truth didn't I?"

Inuyasha asked while Kagome refused to look at him.

"Kagome…"

"I'm not angry…"

"Could have fooled me…look at me then…"

"Why did you say that?"

"Huh! Did you want to go somewhere with that shmuck!"

Kagome shook her head "No, of course not…but…"

"Was I…Was I wrong to say that you're mine?"

"No…I'm happy you did…but that's not really true is it?"

"Hm?"

"Nevermind…"

Inuyasha sighed "Kagome…"

"What? You've chosen haven't you? Chosen to die? To leave me?"

"Kagome…"

"Why say I'm yours when I can never say that you're mine?" Kagome asked tears falling from her eyes as she desperately tried to wipe them away.

Inuyasha didn't really know what to do, but he did the one thing that usually calmed her down. He held her tightly to him, stroking her soft ebony hair. He thought it was working, but then Kagome began to sob again.

He realized that Kagome wasn't ready to be calm right now and just needed to cry, to let out all the pain she felt in her heart. Pain he'd cause when he would go with Kikyo.

He knew he shouldn't go, but he wasn't able to refuse the dead miko. She had such a hold on him that he thought nothing could sever the ties she had bound him with.

"I'm sorry Kagome…" He said softly as she continued to cry in his arms.

Kagome was crying and she was unable to stop. The thought of never feeling Inuyasha's arms around her again was too much for her to bare. Never seeing his beautiful golden eyes, hearing his gruff, yet soft voice. Never seeing him in battle, wearing the fire rat kimono given to his mother by his father, holding Tetsuaiga tight as he battled his foes.

Never seeing this man again, that would truly be hell for Kagome. She knew her heart had been through hundreds of breaks since meeting the hanyou, but this last time she knew that her heart would shatter and never be able to be repaired.

Her very soul would die and she'd become nothing, but an empty shell going about doing whatever she was told and or made to do. Never able to fall in love again, letting men of all ages have their way with her, until the day she was fed up and decided that death would be better than a life like that.

"Kagome?"

Inuyasha felt her stiffen and pull away to look at him.

"Inuyasha…can I ask you something?"

"Sure…"

"When I die…years from now…will you be there to meet me?"

Inuyasha's eyes went wide. "Kagome…"

"I know you'd have been with Kikyo since then, but I wouldn't…"

"Kagome…I'm pretty sure you'd go to heaven when you die…"

"…Yeah I guess so…if I happened to not though…would you be there?"

"I…" Inuyasha didn't know how to answer. He knew that one way that a human could go to hell, was to commit suicide, but Kagome was too proud for that…wasn't she?

"Kagome…"

"It's just after living a life without you…I'd be happy to die if only to see you again…"

"Hm…Kagome…If you came to hell…I'd be there to meet you."

"Promise?"

"Promise…"

"How do you know you'd be in hell though?"

"Ah…I'm a hanyou…"

"What does that have to do with anything?"

"Demons go to hell…hanyou too, that's just…"

"How do you know that? How do you know that all the good you've done wouldn't earn you a ticket to the heavens? Or that you're meant to be there anyway?"

"Kagome...I don't want to talk about this right now…"

"When can we talk about it?"

"Kagome…"

"Or…are you thinking of just vanishing in the night, without even a goodbye?"

Inuyasha didn't want to hear anymore, and so he got up and went to the window.

"Inuyasha…"

"I said I didn't want to talk about it anymore." He said and opening it leapt out and was gone.

"Inuyasha! Why don't you understand! Why can't you see what this is doing to me!" she shouted and saw a blur of red duck into the well shed.

"Fine! Be that way! Run to her like you always do! See if I care anymore!" Kagome shouted and slammed her window shut. She collapsed to the floor in tears as the night dragged on and snow began to fall.

A cold rain fell upon the silver mane of the hanyou as he reached the village.

"Inuyasha!"

"Inuyasha, you're back…but isn't it a few days too early?"

He said nothing and just went over to the corner and sat there, knees up head hung low.

"Do you think something happened?"

"I'd say something happened, but what?"

"Who knows…"

Inuyasha heard them, but didn't listen. All he heard was Kagome pained cries from when he held her, her begging him to meet her in hell, the hurt filled shouts she'd shouted when he'd had enough and went to sit in the tree and eventually head back.

"Fine! Be that way! Run to her like you always do! See if I care anymore!"

The words he'd heard before jumping into the well circled his head. He didn't know what to do. She'd automatically thought he'd run straight to Kikyo. Did Kagome really believe he'd do that, after such a discussion?

He could understand why she'd think that though…cause he'd done it enough times and most weren't even after a fight with the future miko.

"Let's leave him be for a bit…"

"Hm…"

Inuyasha remained in the corner throughout the night, not sleeping, but thinking. Thinking about what he should do.
