AN: Changed the dated of her first husband death to April of 1535 instead of April of 1533.

A Two Year Difference

It's been two years since the death of her first husband leaving her a young widow without any children of her own. However, her fortune has changed because she's lays in confinement in her second husband's country estate awaiting the birth of her first child. When Catherine thinks about events that led her to being Lady Catherine Seymour the Countess of Wessex.

-Flashback Begins-

She has been mourning the death of her elderly first husband for the last eight months before her brother secured her a position in the Queen's household as one of her ladies-in-waiting.

During the first months of her time spent as a lady-in-waiting, Catherine's brother began his search for secure her another husband that would benefit him the most.

However, at the same time Catherine was forming a close friendship with a fellow lady-in-waiting by the name of Lady Jane Seymour. As Jane and herself spent more time together, they discovered their mutual feelings regarding the Dowager Princess of Wales and Lady Mary positions in England.

Through Jane's friendship, Catherine began spending time with Jane's older brother Sir Thomas Seymour that grew into love on both of their parts.

However, Catherine's brother did not approve of the match until it was known throughout court that the King wished to marry Thomas's own sister. Thus, connecting Catherine's future children as cousins to the future King of England did he gave his consent to the betrothal.

Thomas and Catherine were official betrothed with the King's permission on the first of May. They were married a month of the King made Jane his Queen on the last day of June. Upon their marriage, the King granted Thomas with the title of Earl of Wessex.

-Flashback Ends-

Catherine's thoughts drifted away from remembering her relationship with Thomas due to the pains of childbirth. She yells out in pain "Fetch the midwife" to the ladies-in-waiting attending to her this day.

The midwife that came into her bed chambers along side her ladies-in-waiting named Mistress Lyon was present due to the Queen's desires as Mistress Lyon's sisters were attached to her household.

Mistress Lyon informs the ladies-in-waiting "Fetch warm water and clothes for the impending birth" then she turns to Catherine to say "Lady Wessex I must examine you to see how far you are" knowing that it would give her a time frame for the birth of the child.

"Of course Mistress Lyon do as you must" says Catherine calmly as possible experiencing another pain of childbirth. Within seconds, Mistress Lyon says professional "My Lady, you are currently already four fingers this child shall arrive by this time tomorrow for sure"

-A Two Year Difference-

To Mistress Lyon surprise, Catherine borne into the world a healthy baby girl only hours later in the middle of the night. With the ladies-in-waiting, clean the room and Catherine from the aftermath of childbirth.

Thomas was allowed entrance into his wife's bed chambers to meet the newest addition to his family. At that time he saw Catherine laying in bed with a fresh nightgown on holding their daughter in her arms.

Before Thomas could speak, Catherine says to her husband "I wish to name her after your sister" staring at the fair hair babe in her arms.

"Welcome to the world Lady Jane Seymour" exclaims Thomas knowing that his sister the Queen of England would stand as the godmother for her own namesake.
