Rise of the Nukem

(Tokyo, Japan. Kappa Land. August 27th, 14:05)

Gi hummed a faint tune as she was with her friends in her workplace, giving them a tour of the facilities as the place was filled with various guests to see the animals. "And this is where I work." She said, motioning to the pen where Kisa was swimming.

"So that's the miracle dolphin, eh?" Asked Wheeler as he looked it over, for once not wearing his sunglasses. "Heh, she seems kinda nice… for a dolphin." That earned him a splash in the face, making him yell out as both Gi and Linka giggled at him.

"I heard that Dolphins are quite intelligent… and have excellent hearing." Gi explained as Wheeler gave a flat look to the Dolphin, who just squeaked a bit

"I also heard that that Dolphins aren't as nice as they can look." Wheeler muttered a bit as Linka nods.

"True, but that is only when they are feeling aggressive. Given these wounds, I doubt Kisa here can do much." Linka said, petting the dolphin's head as the creature whimpered a bit. Tojo walked over at this as he gave them a smile.

"Konichiwa, my young friends. It is nice to see young people helping in this business." Tojo said as Ma-Ti gave a small bow.

"Of course, sir. We have been curious on where Gi worked and honestly, this is the first time I've seen an aquarium like this." Ma-Ti said, looking around. "It looks more like a water park in all honesty."

"Hai. Kappa Land is a theme park of my own design, it's meant to be both be entertaining and educational. The fun is in the water park, but the education is with the animals."

Kwame looked at Kisa and asks, "What about that character who came here a few weeks ago? What have you heard from him?"

"We have not seen him in the time since. I think he could have washed up back to the land of Kangaroos where he belongs." Tojo explained as he says, "Not that I have anything against those in Australia, of course, but that man gave me a bad taste in my mouth when he arrived."

"What was his name, uh… Bleak? What is with us and meeting people with weird names?" Asked Wheeler as they shrug at this.

"We have not seen that baka since he attacked one of my workers, and I rather not deal with any more of those odd dealings." Tojo said as Gi nods, as she crossed her arms.

"I am just hoping my time at home will not lead to anything odd to happen." Gi said with a faint sigh, unaware of someone with a black coat looking from a window outside before leaving.

(In laboratory in Midtown Tokyo. 14:24)

A group of scientists were looking over something, as one asks, "(What is it?)" They were looking over a curved orange crystal, which had a crescent shape to it as a female scientist looked over the crystal curiously.

"(That would belong to my mistress.)" A robotic voice said as they turned to see a dark gray armor with a machine gun-like arm as he looks at the group calmly.

"What the devil?" Asked the scientists in shock as the machine fired from the gun arm, making several go down to the ground while others went to the ground to get out of the way as the computers suddenly glowed green.

"Now now, Leadhead. Calm down." Said the calm voice as MAL appeared on the screen, looking at the scientists calmly as the machine picked up the orange crystal.

"We have the target, MAL. Now shall we do the test?" The lead-plated robot said as MAL gave a faint hum of thought.

"I will have to ask the good doctor." MAL said as the screen on the left change as a shadowed figure came into screen, as the surviving scientists looked up.

"So, this is the issue you have to deal with, Leady? Too bad… Mal hon, think you can help him? I know there is a few Nuclear-power reactors that power this lab, so I am curious on how ti would read to it. Though try some microwaves first, Lead." The woman said as the machine nods as h sets it down before firing out an energy beam from it's eyes, sending out warm rays onto it as the scientist got up.

"Wait… do not do that… we do not know if that will–" Before the man's warning could be finished, Leadsuit suddenly fired at him with the Microwave energy, making him scream out as his skin felt like it was boiling hot before he went back to work.

The orange crystal only glowed in response but nothing happened as Leadsuit picked it up, ignoring the heat on the crystal. "Now… for the reactor… let us see if it reacts to that." Leadsuit said calmly as he walked off, MAL chuckled as the machine went on.

"Mal-sweetie… eliminate the witnesses. Unless we could use them as well…" The woman said, leaning forward to reveal blonde hair with a bleached half covering her left eye area.

"Wait… I know you… You are Barbara Blight… You went missing after that accident." A man said as Blight saw him and chuckled.

"Ah, Haruka. I have not seen you in a few years… too bad our reunion is like this, honey. Ah well… Mal? How is our dear Leady doing?" Blight asked as MAL concentrated as camera feed came in, showing Leadsuit firing his gun at some people who were working on the reactor, killing them on the spot before opening the reactor, drawing out the energy before dropping the crystal into the core and closing it.

"So… what do you plan on doing with that?" Haruka asked as MAL chuckled, as he showed an image to him.

"We are wanting to use that Chaos Crystal you have in your possession and try to make it work for us. As a scientist, Dr. Blight wishes to have 100% cooperation with her test subject, but it will be less of use to us if it is just a rock." MAL chuckled, as some rumbling is heard.

"(Oh my god…)" A female scientist said in horror as the group looked to see the camera feed as the reactor was glowing dark orange as a sudden blackout came into the building, making the scientists look around in shock.

"What in the world?" Asked Haruka, looking around with concern as the sound of clanking metal as they heard screaming from behind the doors as the group backed up, fearful as a man was thrown into the room, his body covered with many different burns.

"So…" A growling voice said as the group looked up, fearful. The voice sounded...inhumane, almost like that of a reptilian beast as it had a very hint of a hiss of air. The sound of hissing metal filled the air as the group looked in horror as something walked up. In front o them was a dark yellow rock-like creature with the chaos crystal attached to its rounded head, with a mop of dark orange hair in an upside down 'v' shape on the front, with the hair going down, his eyes glowing dark green and his teeth were razor sharp with clawed three-appendged hands and two-toed feet. "Who… is first…?" He looked at the group, particurally to the female of the group as he gave a learing smirk.

Leadsuit followed as he says, "We work for the mistress, sir. They are of no use to us. They are a waste of carbon, as she has said."

"So… no one would care… huh?" Asked the creature, as a dark smirk appeared on his face. "Then this should be fun." His three-fingered hand got up, as a dark energy began to form over his arm. He then fired, as the scientists gave a scream of fear as they were blasted by the nuclear blast, leaving black ash shadows of where they once were. "Now… I'm kinda famished… no power here… not anymore anyway…" He chuckled darkly at this, eyes shining a bit as he looks outside of the window. "Hmm… plenty of energy there… but can't go out like this…" He walked on before noticing a locker was opened, revealing a green with red flowered button up shirt and a pair of khaki shorts and sandals, likely civilian wear for one of the manual labor workers. He looked at it and smirked a bit, revealing his fangs.

(back at Kappa Land. 14:50)

Ma-Ti was currently petting a manta ray in the tank before he gave a scream of pain, gripping his head at this as the others heard him. "Ti!" Wheeler said as he went over to the younger teen, as he gripped his head in pain.

"Vhat is vrong?" Asked Linka, concerned as Ma-Ti groaned a tad as he rubbed his head, as he was put onto a chair as he rubbed his temples.

"It's… as if several voices were speaking at once… fear in their tones… and were silenced all at once…" Ma-Ti groaned as Wheeler groaned at this.

"Ah great, Ma-Ti has gone Jedi on us…" Wheeler groaned as Tojo came in and points at the TV screen, showing a few kanji that read 'Disaster in Research Lab. Monster on the rise?' as the group looked shocked.

"A Chaos crystal? Here?" asked Gi as Ma-Ti concentrated as he frowned.

"There is something there… but they are showing fear of it for some reason." Ma-Ti said with a frown before an after image of Gaia appeared in front of them.

"What's wrong, Gaia? It has to be bad if you are her out of the island." Kwame said as Gaia frowned, crossing her arms.

"It is… there is a woman named Blight who used that research lab to use for one of the Crystals to make a new monster. This one is radioactive as far as I Can tell as they used a nuclear reactor to make it." Gaia explained as Wheeler looked at her oddly.

"How come you never tell us this stuff in advance? It'd be pretty helpful, don't ya think?" Wheeler asked as Gaia sighed at this.

"If I was at my full power, I would gladly do so. But with how chaotic the world has become and how spread out mankind has become, it is hard to pinpoint a specific one. This new being has a powerful signature. More powerful than the past few monsters you've fought before." Gaia said with a frown, as Tojo looked at this scene oddly.

"... So I am clear, I am not the only one seeing the ghost woman, hai? I am just making sure I am not going insane." Tojo said as Kwame gave an amused chuckle at this.

"So… how are we gonna fight a radioactive monster? I mean, the rings are weak against certain forms of pollution… and it's not like he's made of solar radiation…" said Ma-Ti, looking at his ring at this. Gi tapped her chin.

"Hmm… ve vill need hazmat suits, or at least something with lead in them to keep us protected from the nuclear radiation. Vait… ze Geo-Cruiser. Zat has lead within the armor no the front. Maybe Captain Planet could take him on if he is radiation? He has stronger protection than normal humans." Linka said, adjusting her glasses at this as the others nod.

"We will need to get someting for the suits though… maybe we could find some somewhere? Unless this aquarium has some laying around." Wheeler joked as Gi gave a flat look at his.

"Let's just get rid of this guy…" Gi said, concerned for the people in the city as they went off outside to where the Geo-Cruiser was parked… though they noticed the odd looks some people gave it as they went inside.

"We need to find a garage of this thing." Ma-Ti said as the ship took off into the air, as Gi looked around on beat me! I am the king of radiation! The lord of energy, so once this place is blacked… you'll be next! So hail to the king!" He laughed as he fired, making the cops scream out as they got up, and the man below screamed as he got hit as well.

Ma-Ti yelled out as he gripped his head as he says, "This creature… it is much more sadistic…"

"Huh? Aren't they mindless brutes? I mean, the last few we fought were non sentient. Even the Biker one wasn't really all there, just basic instinct." Gi muttered, confused as she looked outside as well.

"Well, if it is smarter, then we better let our powers combine now. EARTH!" Kwame said as green energy flew from his ring, making the monster look up with a growl.

"Time to take out this Nukem freak! FIRE!" Wheeler said as he fired his own into the air, as the newly dubbed Nukem powered up an energy blast as he saw this.

"WIND!" Linka yelled as she fired her own into the air, as the creature smirked as he fired at the Geo-Cruiser.

"WAT–WHOA!" said Gi screamed as the ship got hit, making them all yell out as the sphere was canceled out due to the lack of concentration as they were heading to the ground. Gi pulled up as the ship skidded across the ground, as Nukem smirked at this as he looked at this.

"Time to kick some planet-saving butt…" Nukem growled as he walked over to the downed ship, smirking evilly as his hands glowed with energy.

"Ugh…" Kwame said as he saw him advancing towards them as he says, "Everyone… let us try again… but we need a distraction…" Kwame said as Wheler opened a window.

"Here's one." Wheeler said as he shot a blast of flames at him before closing the window, as he smirked as the fire blast hit Nukem… but the group went wide eyed as they watched the fire go into his body as if absorbing the energy from the heat.

Nukem smacked his lips as he chuckled a bit. "Spicey…" He smirked, his fanged mouth showing at this. He then powered it up, his energy now an odd-colored flame in his hand before firing it out.

"Oh no you don't!" Said Linka as she concentrated, creating a wind funnel to protect the Geo-Cruiser as she grunts from the protected impact from the blast as it sent it back a bit, cutting into the asphalt and a part of a nearby building as many more buildings were losing power as the Geo-Cruiser blinked a bit with it's power, but it's solar battery kept it alight.

"He's absorbing the energy from around him… he's eating the electricity!" Said Gi in shock as Wheeler frowned at this.

"Ah great… I guess this makes him 'Duke' Nukem, since he's basically the king of energy monsters." Said Wheeler… as he heard Linka bonk her head against the dashboard.

"I do not vish to die vith a stupid nickname as ze last zing I hear…" Linka groaned as Gi concentrated as she saw some water fly towards him, making the monster roar out as steam formed around him as Kwame concentrated as several stones flew at Duke, making him yell out as the two hit him at once.

Duke growled as he roared out in anger as he says, "Knock it off! Sheesh, why are you so annoying! It was gonna be a quick death. but may as well make it more drawn out…" He growled as his body got covered with steam, the rocks melting onto his body from the heat of his anger.

Ma-Ti groaned a bit as he felt something… off… he looked at Duke, and felt his empathetic powers were being drawn to the monster, who was growling at this. "There is… a brain there...hmm…" He concentrated as his eyes shined amber as Duke continued to advance.

"Mr. Nukem, what is it that you want?" Ma-Ti asked in his mind, as Duke stopped mid-step as he growled as he grabbed his head.

"Who is there? Who is in my head‽" The monster roared out as his eyes glowed in anger.

"Why are you so angry? What have we people do to you to anger you?" asked Ma-ti as Duke just growled in annoyance.

"The others I killed? Nothing, they were just a waste of space to get rid of. But you? You're just being a massive pain in my butt." Duke growled in anger as Ma-Ti frowned.

"Is destruction all you exist for? Is there no higher purpose?" asked Ma-Ti in his mind, as Duke growled as his eyes shined dark green from anger.

"Shut… up… get out of my head… GET OUT!" He roared, his body sparking up in anger as he glares ahead. "TIME TO PUT AN END TO THIS NONSENSE!" He roared as he sent out a pulse of energy around him.

The energy flooded the area, making many yell out but nothing happened to them...but their technology suddenly sparked and fizzled, turning off from the electric pulse. Kwame frowned as he saw the Geo-Cruiser was fried as well.

"Ugh… we must work fast! Let our powers combine once more! EARTH!" Said Kwame quickly as the others followed suit just as fast as Duke powered up a blast to end them there.

"FIRE!/WIND!/WATER/HEART!" The other four yelled at once as the four energy came out at once as the sphere went outside as the blast fired before it was blocked by a blast of four-different elemental blasts.

"With your powers combined… I AM CAPTAIN PLANET!" Said PLanet as he glared at Duke, who growled at him, his eyes shining dark green. "So, you're the infamous 'Duke Nukem?'"

"Nukem… heh, I like that.:" Duke said, as Wheeler gave a smug smirk to Linka, who only gave him the stink eye at that smirk. "So I guess I better live up to that name!" He fired a blast at Captain Planet, who summoned a circle of stone to take the blast, grunting at this.

"Ugh…" Planet said as he tossed the 'shield' at Nukem, who growls as he got hit as he ran at him, roaring out as sent a punch at him as Planet grunts, but the blue skinned hero returned with a kick.

"Heh, namby-pamby moves for a namby-pamby hero." Duke said as he slams Planet into a near-by car as the crowd got away as Planet rubbed his fiery head as he glares at this

"At least I got more experience than you do. You were literally born today." Planet said as he flew at him, punching the yellow monster in the face, but got thrown into a wall for his trouble.

"Heh, that just makes you an old coot, and me the next generation. I'm a new age! The Nuclear age! Nothing can stop me!" Said Duke with a dark laugh.

"Why must they always laugh…?" Planet asked as he got up with a shake of his head as he concentrates a blast as he fired out a burst of wind with water and fire in it, making a pressurized burst of steam, making Duke roar out as he got sent back into a wall.

Nukem roared as he got up as he got up, as he smirked evilly as he says, "Time to make things interesting!" As he powered up a sphere of energy in his hands as he fired forward, as Planet fired a burst of rainbow energy out of his chest, sending out a burst of solar radiation to take on the blast of nuclear energy, creating a shockwave to cancel each other out.

Nukem growled before he saw Leadsuit walk up, looking up calmly as he says, "We are needed by mistress. You have shown your worth, warrior of Nuclear power." Leadsuit said as Nukem gave a smirk at his as he walked on, as Planet groaned a bit as his chest gave out some sparks.

"What the–?" asked Gi in concern as Leadsuit fired into the air, making some people duck down who weren't already behind some cover from the fight.

"Anyone follow shall perish." Leadsuit said calmly as an odd-looking van came into view as a machine was driving it, the computer head turning to show MAL, who waved.

Ma-Ti saw him, as his eyes widen in shock as he realized who it was. 'That was… the face on the computer of those men who was gonna harm my grandfather!' Ma-Ti thought in initial horror at the ideas of that thing in his home village

"This… is not over…" Planet groaned as Nukem looked at him...but he smirked at this as his eyes shined a bit.

"Yea...it ain't. But don't worry, our rematch will come out in the future. See ya around, Captain...and remember the name… Duke Nukem." said Duke as he laughed darkly as he went into the van with Leadsuit, which closed as Planet glared as he watched the new Chaos crystal make a getaway.

"Don't worry, we'll get him… someday." Gi said, looking concerned as Planet depowered, turning back into energy to recharge as he nods

"Indeed… the power is your's." Planet said as Wheler sat down, sighing a bit as the group looked downhearted, not liking their first loss against one of the Chaos Creatures.

(In the van. 15:19)

Nukem sat down in a chair as he saw a computer turn on as he saw who was on the other end; a woman with blonde hair with gray on the left side and wearing a black shirt and skirt under a white lab coat with white gloves

"Well, you have shown some interesting development, my new creation. But your powers are wild ta the moment, so I think we have room for improvement." the woman said as Nukem raised an eyebrow.

"And you are?" Asked Nukem as the woman chuckled a bit, moving her hair to he side to reveal a third degree burn on her left half of her face, making her left eye look pitch white compared to her green right eye.

"I am Doctor Barbara Blight. And you, Mr. Nukem, shall have an interesting working relationship with me, MAL and Leady." Blight said, as Nukem looked at them, with a dark smirk on his face.

"And with me." said a voice as Duke looked up, seeing Zarm's after image appear in front of him. "You are quite a rarity, my boy… a Chaos Creature born with an actual mnid. Given how you were born, I am not surprised. You are powered by one of the most powerful weapons to be made by man. So it is only possible that you would represent that danger." Zarm said with a chuckle.

"And who the hell are you?" Asked Duke with a growl as Zarm chuckled a bit.

"I am Zarm, the lord of the abyss… I am the beginning and the end at once. I am a being born before the universe itself was born. And you see… you are my son." Zarm said with a chuckle, as Duke raised an eyebrow. "After all, I created the Chaos Crystals… and you, my son, are the first to show true promise. True… potential."

Duke just smirked at this as he says, "And that brat asked about a higher purpose, eh? Heh… how's this for one. What's the plan, pops?"

"Simple… you help awaken your brothers and sisters." Zarm said with a chuckle as Duke smirked at this. The van continued on it's way, heading to the docks to get out of the country.
