It had been an exhausting day. SHIELD has been trying to track down Thor and Bruce, but so far they can't figure out where he is, or if he's alive. I'm certain Thor is alive - it would take more than a glass cage to take down a Norse god, after all.

Meanwhile, Tony's fears had been proven correct - Loki was at Stark Tower with the Tesseract. By the looks of things, he planned to attack Manhattan. So all of us spent our day training. Natasha and Clint sparred with each other. It was like watching an action movie - their movements were so elegant and graceful. I guess you become pretty damn good at combat after a few years of assassin training.

I practiced with Steve again. When we first began he made it easy, but as time went on, - and the more times I kicked his ass - he kicked things up a notch, delivering powerful blows which I narrowly dodged.

Both of us had to put of with Tony's "cheering" which wasn't exactly motivating. More... distracting, than anything else really. It consisted of "C'mon Spangles, you can take her!" , "Another point to Miss Kitty Cat!" and of course him narrating our fight to the others like it was a nature documentary by David Attenborough.

I'd collapsed onto my bed, my head feeling groggy and clouded after being so busy today. I thought about all the people that had been lost - Phil, Bruce, Thor. Thor. Surely it wouldn't take a glass cell to kill a god, right? Maybe he survived. But, at the moment, nothing is certain. We were now on the way to Manhattan to stop Loki. If anyone's to blame, it's him - there's no doubt. I closed my weary eyes, drifting off into a deep sleep.

I stood in a vast hall. The walls were white. The floor was white. There was one, single couch right in the center of the hall. The colour? White. I looked up to the ceiling - it was white as well. I glanced down at my clothes briefly. I was wearing the same thing I wore when I fell asleep. Combat boots, trousers and a bluish grey t-shirt with the SHIELD logo on the left breast. It was like a casual school uniform shirt. Sort of.

"Hello, Dear."

I spun around to meet the sound. Clad in his green, reindeer helmet glory, was Loki himself.

"Where am I?" I demanded hotly, baring my teeth slightly, "how are you even here?"

He chuckled darkly. "Well, are you a feisty young woman? I can see why my brother took interest in you." I felt rather shocked at his words, and I guess it showed on my face, because it caused him to laugh more. He collected himself, his face showing no emotion. "But that's not why I'm here."

He paced around me, gazing around at the white walls. "To answer your questions, you are currently dreaming and I have altered your dream so I could speak to you. I am the God of Mischief, so of course, I can enter anyone dreams. I can also enter your mind, any time I wish to."

My pulse seemed to pick up pace. The thought of Loki being able to enter my thoughts and dreams, my nightmares even, disturbed me. "Why choose to bother me, Loki? I thought you had dedicated yourself to annoying the piss out of your brother?"

He raised his eyebrows at my choice of words. "You Midgardians have an interesting way of speech. So crude..."

I tilted my head to the side, narrowing my eyes at him. "Are you going to answer the question or not?"

"Very well. I have chosen to 'bother' you because I need you to deliver a message to your comrades."

I considered it for a moment. "Fine, what is it?"

"Surrender while you can," Loki warned me in a soft, but dark voice, "no one can overpower me. I am a god - you are all pathetic, hopeless mortals. And in time, all of you will kneel to me, as I will be your king."

I gave him a disbelieving glare. "Earth isn't going to bend to your will as easily as you think."

He let out a low chuckle. "Oh I know, Dear. I know that very well. But considering the fact that I have successfully divided your team, scattering my brother and the beast I know not where, it increases my chances ever so slightly."

As he finished talking, the environment around me started to dissolve. Loki noticed this also. "What's happening?"

"You're going to wake up soon," he told me. It was hard to focus on him now. I clutched the sides of my head, hoping that would help. It didn't. Loki grinned down maliciously at me. "Ahh, you poor, fragile beast."

I felt my eyes change into my feline ones. "What's that supposed to mean?"

He merely chuckled. "You'll find out someday, Sophrose. But not today." And then the world around me collapsed into oblivion.

I fixed the last few chapters so they're now easier to read. Guess that's what I get for updating stories at two in the morning. Thank you Anghel Ni Kamatayan for pointing that out to me, I owe you one :) Oh well, enjoy reading now without hurting your eyes!
