In the garage of the police station, Naruto was busy as he looks over the damage remains of a service droid that was the one who release the distress signal. The droid is so old that there's no record of what kind of model it is. And because it was in salt water for thousands of years he was amazed that it could even send out a distress signal in the first place when it was first discovered.
"Any luck?" Windstarr ask stepping into the garage.
"It's a complete write off. They don't even make droids like this anymore. I'm going to have to see if the memory banks are still salvageable. If the droid has a A.I. it can tell us what Marv ship that brought my people to this planet. And why the colonists were ninja fans," Naruto said.
"Seen stranger things on the halo docs of planets like this one use to be. There was one that was all knights and swords. Another was all hip hop. Then there was the one that was magical girl one," Windstarr said shaking her head to get rid of that image from her head.
"That was one strange world before it became apart of the Galaxy Council. If you had been born on the world you would have been running around in a revealing magical girl outfit waving a wand around," Naruto said.
"Don't remind me," Windstarr said not wanting to think about it.
"Oh yeah the horse should be up and running," Naruto said pointing to the robot horse that they gotten on one of the shipments. It was suppose to go to the Galaxy Rangers but a shipment mess up cause it to be ship to them instead.
"I'll try it out later but there's an issue with the auto turrets at the Northern port. Some of them won't pop up when they were tested. Work crew is working on it but you might be able to help," Windstarr said.
"Sure," Naruto said getting off the chair of the work station. "Need a break from this."
"Follow me," Windstarr said leading him out.

At the Spaceport -
"Never seen a ship like that before," Naruto said seeing a strange ship on the loading dock.
"They're from the Alliance held space," Windstarr said.
"Alliance?" Naruto ask.
"A branch of humanity that broke off from the Galaxy Council thousands of years ago when Marv ships were still being used. They only been rediscovered about ten years ago and gate networks have open up between their galaxy and ours. Our government has open trade with them but tries to keep out of their way as the Alliance is very corrupt and has fought a war between their core worlds and the outer planets. They dump colonists on recently terraformed worlds with the bare minimum needed to survive. All the high technology is concentrated in the Alliance hands, as they have no intention of letting the outer planets rise again," Windstarr explains.
"Sounds like how New Texas was," Naruto said.
"That's because it wasn't government backed as the first settlers were just miners and there wasn't a space port built yet. You know how long it takes to get anywhere even with a hyper drive. You need a hyperdrive gateway for that kind of travel and the reason New Texas is no longer a backwater planet anymore," Windstarr said.
"True," Naruto said as he stares at the ship. "What kind of ship is it?"
"It's a Firefly class ship. They don't make those models anymore," Windstarr answers. (1)
"Well lets go those guns aren't going to be fix on their own," Naruto said taking off with his hoverboots.
"Rights," Windstarr said following him on her own hoverboots.

At the loading bay of Serenity -
"They have hoverboots here," Kaywinnet said watching the pair fly off.
"I heard stories about this galaxy ever since the gateway connected our galaxies together. Very advance and alot of other races around," Zoe said as she couldn't help but stare at some of the aliens walking around the port.
"Well get use to it. We'll be here for awhile," Malcom said as he and the other members of the crew began unloading their cargo. With how their galaxy is they decided to go through the gateway and see what's life like on the other side. Everything is new while the remaining the same.
"It be nice to be able to go around without soldiers on your backs," Hoban said pushing a cart loaded with cargo out of the loading bay.
"We all should be careful. New galaxy and new rules," Derrial said helping with the unloading.
"Maybe the red crystals they use here can help River," Simon said having read up on the medical tech of this galaxy. She and Inara had already step off the ship and are looking around the city.
"Worry about that after we get this cargo off ship," Jayne said.
"Remember we'll fuel up and resupply. There's a big crime lord on this planet and, I don't want to be here longer than we need to be," Malcom said.
"Where are we headed?" Zoe ask.
"New Texas," Malcom answers.

In the Leaf Village -
Tsuande in her office of the hospital was busy looking over all the drugs that have been appearing in the village. With the lost of most of their chakra and how outmatched they are compared to those from off world, many ninjas have taken up using drugs. Some to get away from the lives they're living and others to increase their strength. She's looking over the reports and order forms she needs to sign for them to be ship to the village.
Jet a highly addictive recreational drug, synthesized from dung fumes of a farm animal known as a brahmin. The drug a hallucinogen is administered via an inhaler, giving the user a high. A drug she's been seeing a lot lately as things just gets worse and worse for the village. They tried to stop it but they keep on finding more and more as the one supplying the drug Stampede finds ways to send in shipments.
Buffout a highly advanced steroid that is very popular with professional athletes. It increases strength and reflexes while being highly addictive and using too much causes cardiac arrests or even death. Many ninjas have taken up using this to give them a better chance at fighting against Stampde's bandits. There's already talk about just allowing any ninja to use it as well as other combat drugs.
Like Psycho a drug that is injected in the user, that is from a military origin. It increases a soldiers damage resistance, and its dampening effect on higher brain functions. It also allows a ninja to use higher level chakra jutsus without the pain of using it if they weren't on the drug. But of course the moment it wears off the ninja feels all the damage that they have put themselves through to use their chakra.
Med-X is a potent opiate analgesic that binds to opioid receptors in the brain and central nervous system, reducing the perception of pain as well as the emotional response to pain. Essentially, it is a painkiller delivered by a hypodermic needle. Like psycho but for those with blood limits allows them for a brief time use their blood limit without the pain that comes with it. But like Psycho the damage hits the ninja after the drug wears off. Sometimes the user is so high on the drugs that their bodies didn't even know it's suppose to be dead. That's the greatest weakness to be on drugs in combat, as the user has no way of knowing how much damage their body is accumulating until they're so injured that they simply stop responding altogether. Then there's Mentats a drug designed to increase memory related functions and speed up other mental processes. Many ninjas in the tech department are users of that drug. They had to learn using such advance machines that she couldn't get her head around in how they even work, so they use the drugs to make them able to learn better.
The only thing that is keeping the drug use under control is the other drug, Fixer. It's a drug that can cure addictions, not using it but the addiction effects. It does flush out the effects of addiction causes a side effect of nausea. But of course it can be reacquired by continued use of the drug that caused it. The only thing the drug Fixer handles is the bodily needs for the addiction not the mental one.
"Tsuande?" Shizune ask as she pokes her head in the office.
"Yes?" she ask looking up from her paperwork.
"Hinata has the Auto-Doc running," Shizune said.
"That's great news," Tsuande said as its been awhile since she has gotten any real good news.
The Auto-Doc they gotten from a trader, it's an old model but seeing how much a newer model cost they had to deal with what they can get. It's a device capable of performing even the most complex medical procedures without qualified medical personnel. Even for a talented physician, those machines are invaluable aids. The model that have has four autonomous arms (mounted with a surgery light, a combination scalpel/syringe, tongs and a multipurpose "hand") attached to a boxy central unit with a CRT control panel attached to its side. Although models of this type are capable of performing even implant installation, they are commonly considered to be obsolete and ancient, in part due to it incorporating proprietary technology, not compatible with later models, making maintenance difficult. Which is why it took four months to get it up and running. They had to find the parts some of which had to be jury-rigged to work and Hinata had to fix the programs that runs the machine.
"We're going to need it. Guy and his team just came back. The shipment of kerium they were guarding was taken by Sandstorm and Hawgtie," Shizune said.
"But Guy had Kakashi and Asuma with him," Tsuande said. Guy having never been much of a user of chakra wasn't as effected as other ninjas when the lion share of chakra was taken away. He and Lee are the two strongest ninjas now that don't need drugs to give them a fighting edge.
"It didn't matter," Shizune said.

Flashback -
On a road to the Leaf Village, a shipment of kerium was being delivered by truck. At the wheel is Asuma who learned to drive after they started appearing on the open market. Like many ninjas he had to learn new skills with the new world they found themselves in once space was open to their world. Much of their ways had to change as there wasn't a great need for their skills anymore but for information gathering, for combat they quickly learned that their fighting skills are nothing to the combat tech brought to their world by the off worlders. And that the alien races had natural powers to call upon or were robots that the now mostly powerless ninjas couldn't fight against. (3)
Next to him is Kakashi who has taken up using pain killers to dull the pain of his eye. He can't go a day without using pain killers as the pain from his eye is always there and without the drugs he would be crippled in pain. Only with the drug is he able to use his eye at all, but even than he can't use it more than once a day. The last time he tried that he had a heart attack.
Riding in the back with the kerium is Guy. He has become the strongest ninja in the village by the fact he's able to fight without using chakra. With his skills he's been given one of the village's only power armor they managed to get from a trader. It increases his strength and gave him protection against some energy blast, but because it's an old model it has a less advanced servo design, as a result it limits his agility.
"Look out!" Kakashi shouted as a sandstorm suddenly appeared in front of the truck.
Asuma hit the brakes as the sandstorm twisted around the truck causing him to crash into a tree. Thanks to their seat belts they survive the crush and stumbled out of the truck now with a large dent in the front. Only for Kakashi to be blasted by Sandstorm with a neutra-laser freezing him in his tracks as he steps out of the truck. Asuma pulled out his blaster ready to fire when, Hawgtie blindsided him with his bola launcher sending him flying backwards and wrap around a tree.
"That's some nice kerium you two have there. Don't mind us we're just going to take it," Sandstorm grinned at the helpless Asuma who is struggling to free himself. Sandstorm turned to Kakashi who couldn't move a muscule and he pushes him sending him falling on his face.
"Hehee don't worry that only last an hour before you can move again," Hawgtie laughs as he walks over to the back of the truck and opens the doors.
Guy in his power armor burst out of the back punching Hawgtie in the face. But to Guy's surprise Hawgtie wasn't sent flying, as a porcinoid his kind are very large and very heavy compared to a human. They also have very thick skin and a very dense layer of fat that acted like armor. (4) Hawgite back handed him showing Guy that he's also much stronger then he looks, sending Guy flying into a tree.
"Look he has power armor," Hawgite said rubbing his face where he was punched.
"It's a Zeram power armor. They don't even make those anymore," Sandstorm said seeing the faded logo on the armor as Guy pick himself up. It explained why Hawgite wasn't as hurt as he should have been from being hit by someone in power armor. The servos on that suit are over 200 years old, there's no way the ninjas would have been able to get it back up to full power.
"I'm taking you two down," Guy shouted through the helmet he's wearing. He learned first hand how powerful some of the alien races are the hard way. Without his armor the two in front of him would easily out power him in terms of brute strength.
"Don't think so," Sandstorm said as he breath out another sandstorm that formed into a twister.
The twister pick up Guy who found himself helpless as he spun around inside of it. Finally the twister stop and Guy finding himself way up into the sky fell down to the ground. An hour later Kakashi and Asuma with the first freeing the later after the ray effect wore out found, Guy where he had fallen. The only thing that had saved him was his armor that was now as broken as he is. The truck with the kerium was long gone, taken by two of Stampede's outlaws.

Present -
"Take Guy to the Auto-Doc. We can't lose him," Tsuande said.
"He's already there," Shizune said. "We're just making sure everything is working. And for you to be there if something doesn't work."
"I'm going," Tsuande said as Guy is too important asset to the village to lose. When they lost chakra many ninjas couldn't do missions anymore till they learn to deal with losing most of their powers. It was Guy who spear headed the retraining of ninjas to be able to fight without any chakra and to use what weapons and tech they could get their hands on.
"The power armor he was wearing is going to take months to repair if we can't find the right parts," Shizune said walking with Tsuande.
"We can always get another armor. What we can't replace is someone like him," Tsuande said.
"It's too bad we're on bad terms with Naruto. With him being in the Galaxy Council police force, he might be able to get us some tech that would give us a fighting chance," Shizune said as she keeps on seeing ninjas being brought in having a run in with Stampede's outlaws.
"Wasn't Hinata in his class?" Tsuande ask as an idea formed in her head.
"I think so," Shizune said.
"I think it's time for those two to see each other again," Tsuande said.
"Honey trap?" Shizune ask.
"If not at least she might become friends with him. And having a friend in the Galaxy Council would be a good thing for us," Tsuande said.

Author's Notes -
1 –A great space western cut short before it could have become the next Star Trek.
2 - Besides robots and other beings not made of flesh that can't feel. Not feeling pain while powerful in combat does mean the person doesn't even know they're bleeding to death or too wounded to fight. But of course in fiction if the person has the power to heal themselves then it means you have a juggernat to deal with.
3 - The ninjas now don't have even half of their power they had before. And that some of the alien races and robots that are now on their world, are much stronger then they are. Also combat tech like personal shields and blasters that the ninjas have very few of. Even then its only what they can get their hands on which are usually the older and less powerful models.
4 - A general rule for any combat before the advent of firearms, an inch of fat could mean the difference between survival or having an organ ruptured.
