Chapter 11: Enough is Enough!

Francis sat on the hospital bed, with his toes dipping into a bowl of water, with Matthew beside him.

"So, tell me again. Vladimir 'as a vampire 'orde and 'e came after you?" he asked, staring at the wingless angel.

Arthur nodded. "And he was the one who put up that water symbol."

"But why though?" Lovino asked. "What trouble would water cause to Vladimir?"

"Vampires are allergic to water, as well the angel blood." Francis explained. "That's why you see a lot of horror and vampire films where people throw salt and holy water on them. With my water element, it would dampen their strategy to ambush ze entire school. It would take myself out of ze equation and...Well, you can imagine ze result but zank goodness; I've got my strength back."

"We'll need it." Fritz said from Gilbert's side. "If we've got to defeat them somehow, we'll probably bring you in as a last line of defence. We can't waste all of your strength on all of them."

"W-who is Vladimir?" asked Matthew.

"He was in the year above us. He left last year." Arthur explained.

"But when Arthur says ''e left' 'e means 'e was forced out of ze school." said Francis. "'is boyfriend, Alexander, who was a shape-shifter like Toni, was killed wizin ze school. When two rogue Chimeras went berserk and burst into ze school. Ze teachers pulled everyone out of ze school but not everyone. Vladimir and Alexander were ze only ones left. Zey had been too far away from everyone else and soon zey were cornered by ze Chimeras. Vladimir tried to get 'imself and Alexander out but one of ze Chimeras struck 'ad other ideas and were about to go for 'im but Alexander went in to defend and got bitten by ze snake 'ead. Its venom was poisonous. Alexander died."

"But that was the Chimera's fault not the school."

Fritz spoke up. "Yes, but one of ze teachers vas ze cause of e Chimeras going rabid on us und ve really should have checked to see if everyone vas out of ze school. I should have vhen I had ze chance."

"I vasn't your fault, Fritz, blame zose stupid teachers for not going in, in the first place." Gilbert growled.

"So, Vladimir just wants revenge on a loved one?" Lovino asked.

"Exactly," Fritz said. "Anozer death vould give ze school a bad reputation because ze school couldn't do a zing about it. So, ze school gets shut down und ve are no longer vanted. I'll mostly likely be stuck in limbo und have Cerberus for company—"

"Cerberus vouldn't be ze only one." Gilbert said. The werewolf cupped the ghost's face and placed his forehead against his own. "I'd be viz you. I'm not leaving you."

"I know, Gil. But it vould also mean zat Arthur vould be homeless unless Alfred takes him in. Vladimir gets his vay. It's about taking over ze vorld or anything. It's just simple revenge by taking down ze school."

There was silence for a moment and then Ludwig broke it.

"Ve'll have to stop zem." He said. "Make sure zat ze school is fully protected so zat Vladimir und his vampire horde can't get in. Ve must find anyone zat will help us stand up against Vladimir und it has to be fast. It can't be done in two days or a veek; ve didn't see Vladimir's first attack coming, so now ve must be prepared."

"You took the words right of my mouth, Ludwig." Alfred said, wrapping an arm around Arthur. "We'll have to put as many protective barriers around as possible. Feli, Lovino and Arthur can do that. Meanwhile, Fritz, Gilbert, you two can alert the teachers that are still here about this whilst the rest of us can gather any other students that want to fight. During this time, we'll all have to come up with strategies on how to take down these vampires and stop Vladimir."

"Brilliant!" Matthew said. "Let's get going before it's too late."

An hour later, Alfred, Arthur and the rest were standing in front of the double doors of the school, which led out into the courtyard. They had gathered up Toris the satyr, Feliks a Polish elf, Katyusha and Sadiq, also with Lars, Belle who was a witch and Lars' lover: Matthias, who was a shape-shifter like Antonio. Roderich and Elizabeta were amongst the group. A handful of the teachers that stayed behind were still working with Lovino, Arthur and Feliciano to barricade the school. They were closing off all of the windows and doors except for the front door. That way they counter act and corner them so that Vampires had no means of getting out from anywhere. The plan was for the large group to be together then split off into two groups and then into pairs to lead the vampires off. Francis however had the biggest job and that was to get to the large water tank that was now sitting in the attic of the school and to drown the vampires, by converting the water into salt water.

Matthew was to stay by his side and protect him whilst they hurried off to the attic whilst they all fought and led Vladimir away and the vampires to the attack. Alfred and Arthur would distract Vladimir away from his horde whilst the others dealt with the vampires to lead them upwards. When the vampires were out of the way, the others would head down and deal with Vladimir. Cerberus was on guard in the courtyard and would signal to the group inside when the vampires would arrive. Lovino, Arthur and Feliciano came in from the back and hurried to the group. Fritz was standing with Gilbert at his side; he was loading his rifle with silvery bullets that were filled with holy water. The albino was in his wolf form and looked like an angry guard dog. Ludwig wasn't in his wolf form but was now standing by Feliciano's side and Antonio was holding a shaky Lovino by his side. Matthew and Francis were standing further back from the group. Alfred and Arthur stood with the others, tensing themselves up for the fight by the door.

"How much longer are we going to have to wait?" Lovino asked.

"Be patient, Lovino." Fritz said. "Ze enemy vill arrive vhen zey vant to even if ve have to vait for hours upon hours. Besides, you seem eager to either get killed or die."

Lovino went red. "I didn't mean it like that." He snarled.

Gilbert snarled at the Italian nymph. Fritz looked down at the wolf. "Gil, don't."

Gilbert stopped growling and sat down at the ghost's feet. Lovino sighed and sat on the floor, grumpily.

"Don't worry, Lovi." Alfred said. "Cerberus will be the first to know and then you'll know next."

"Don't call me Lovino." The nymph snapped.

"Please, guys." Antonio said. "Don't fight amongst ourselves. That's just what they want."

Lovino mumbled an apology. Soon everything went quiet. Ludwig hated the silence, it meant trouble. True, it was peaceful but at times, you didn't know what to expect when thing were quiet.

Suddenly, there was a sound of barking and snarls which interrupted the quiet. Everyone's heads snapped up at the noise.

"Zey're here." Lars growled.

Gilbert growled, his teeth bearing to the door. Fritz clicked his rifle into place and held it at the ready. It sounded as though Cerberus was putting up a good fight. Suddenly, two vampires crawled onto the windows and began to punch the glass. A faint orange glow appeared around the frame, indicating that the symbol was working.

"Excellent vork, you three." said Fritz. "Right, everyone move back und get ready to run...und remember vhat ze plan is. I vish you all luck."

Everyone else murmured in agreement and moved away from the door. Suddenly, the vampires vanished and the door burst open to reveal Vladimir looking deadly. A hundred or so vampires were standing behind him, all dressed in black.

"Get zem." Vladimir snarled and soon the chase began.

Everyone turned and ran, Francis and Matthew at the front hurrying to the stairs. Everyone followed and soon Fritz shouted. Matthew, Francis, Alfred, Arthur, Roderich, Elizabeta, Belle, Toris and Feliks headed up a flight of stairs. Fritz, Gilbert, Ludwig and the rest hurried along the corridor. Ludwig hurried along; making sure that Feliciano was still by his side. The nymph looked tired out, but he knew that he couldn't be defeated yet. Or at least...Feliciano skidded to a halt. Ludwig stopped.

"Feli!" he called.

The nymph looked at Ludwig and turned to the vampire horde that was bounding over to them. Feliciano knelt down.

"Feli! Run!" Antonio yelled.

"Fratello!" Lovino cried.

But Feliciano ignored them and then traced something along the ground. A green light lit up the floor and soon the floor fell apart taking down the vampires above it. As soon as all of the vampires were gone, Feliciano swept away the trace he had made and turned back to the others and hurried back to Ludwig.

The blonde hugged him close. "I zought...I zought..."

"I wasn't, Luddy. I would never leave you." Feliciano said.

Ludwig sighed. Suddenly, three vampires came around the corner. They were bruised and scarred from the fall. They hissed and snarled at the group. Ludwig grabbed Feliciano's hand and the group ran on down the hall and up to the next flight of steps. The vampires bounded on after them, getting nearer and nearer. Fritz whipped around and shot three bullets, sending one of the vampires down. He ran on, with Gilbert still beside him as he emptied the gun of shells and reloaded, whilst on the run. The other vampires began to scale the walls. Ludwig could see what they were up to.

"Gilbert!" Fritz called.

Gilbert leaped from the ghost's side and ran up the wall to meet the vampires. Ludwig didn't look back, but he could hear the snarls and cries of pain.

"Ludwig, don't stop. Lead ze others on!" Fritz shouted. "Keep to ze plan."

"I vill, Fritz!" Ludwig called back. They rounded up the steps and didn't stop.

Gilbert ran up the walls and Fritz called out to Ludwig to carry on the mission. He snapped at one of the vampire's necks. The vampire hissed her displeasure and took a swipe. The blow took him off the wall and slammed to the ground.

"Gilbert!" Fritz shouted. A vampire saw him and bounded for him, the female vampire closed in. Fritz clicked his rifle into place and shot once...then twice. Both vampires howled in anger. Fritz hurried to the wolf that was trying to get up slowly.

"Gilbert, are you all right?" he asked, looking up towards the vampires that were now closing in on them. The wolf whimpered and got to his feet. Gilbert saw the vampires and growled. They hissed at him. Fritz looked behind them and saw four more vampires coming round the corner towards them. Fritz didn't hesitate; he reloaded his gun and aimed, carefully. If he could get his aim right, they would be able to buy the others some time. He raised the gun upwards and took a shot. The chain groaned and snapped. The golden chandelier creaked above them, but the vampires ignored it. Gilbert barked at them, drawing the vampires under the chandelier. Fritz aimed again and this time he pulled the trigger, snapping the chain fully and the chandelier groaned and fell from the ceiling. The vampires looked up just in time to have the heavy object fall down on them, spearing them in the chests and to the ground. There now only two vampires left. They snarled and left the corridor to find the others. Fritz let out a sigh and sat down on the floor.

Gilbert looked around and wandered over to Fritz, he nuzzled his face and morphed back into his perfect human form. Gilbert held the ghost to his chest.

"You okay, Fritzy?"

"Oui, I'm fine. Ve've bought ze others time, so it'll be enough for Francis to get to ze tank. Let's just vait here until it's over."

"Fritz, you don't look vell." Gilbert muttered.

"I'm an old man, Gilbert. I'm a ghost of formally dead man...an old king. I'm getting too old for zis var nonsense."

"Don't say zat. You're not an old king und you are not old! You never have been! You're my lover und I am yours. Ich liebe dich, Fritz."

"Je t'aime, mon Gilbert."

"Let's get you to rest und ve'll move vhen you're able. Let's just stay here for ze time being."

"Merci, Gilbert." Fritz said, leaning against the wall. Gilbert sat beside him and hugged him around the waist. They stayed like that. Their eyes closed and the only sounds they could hear were each other's breaths and the beats of their hearts.

On the fourth floor, Matthew ran with Francis as ten vampires ran behind, blood thirsty, they had lost Arthur and Alfred as they had turned off into an empty corridor and then sneaked off to find Vladimir when the coast was clear, Roderich and Elizabeta had lagged behind when Belle had been injured. She had been bitten badly by one of the vampires. Lars wouldn't be too happy about his sister being injured; he was protective over her as he was over Matthias. Matthew hoped that everybody else was okay. Toris and Feliks had separated from them to lead several other vampires down away but near enough for the vampires to be caught within the flood. They turned along the corridor and came to a door that led up to the attic.

Matthew turned round and dragged Francis inside. He closed the door and made sure, it was locked tightly. They both placed several chairs by the door.

"Zat should 'old zem. Come on, cheri, let's get to zat water tank."

Matthew nodded and they climbed up the steps. They opened another door and soon hopped inside. The Canadian locked the door as Francis over to the large water tank that sat in the middle of the room.

"You know what to do, Francis?" Matthew asked, as he walked over to the siren.

"Oui, I do." Francis said, turning to the nekotama.

"Well...I...I don't what to say..." Matthew said, his ears sagging.

Francis smiled and cupped the younger teen's face. "Don't worry, cheri. We'll be fine. It'll be over soon."

Matthew smiled shyly. "Je t'aime, Francis."

"Je t'aime, Mathieu. When zis is all over, I'll take you out and spoil you rotten."

Matthew smiled and hugged him.

BANG!

The two split apart and listened as the vampires charged down the door, trying to knock it down. Francis hurried over to tank and placed his hand over it. Matthew stood between the door and Francis.

"Francis..."

"What, mon cher?"

"I've got something to tell you."

THUD!

"I don't zink is ze best time, Mathieu!"

"Oh, I think it is, Francis."

THUD!

"Well, what is it, cheri?"

BANG!

The door was flung open to reveal several vampires, looking hungrily at them. They snarled at the two. Matthew snarled. He knew that this would surprise Francis but he had to protect the siren at all costs. Matthew felt his blood begin to boil.

"Mon cher..." Francis breathed.

A hiss escaped from Matthew's lips and suddenly, his arms began to grow muscles, his ears and tail grew and his kind round violet eyes turned into angry red cat like slits. When the transformation was over, Matthew hunched over onto all fours. The vampires hissed at him with Matthew yowling back at them.

"Francis..." Matthew said, with a hint of an angry purr in his voice. "Destroy the tank!"

Francis's hand slapped against the steel. A groan escaped from the tank as the steel began to converge in on itself. Francis stepped aside and soon, the water spilled out. Matthew somersaulted in the air and landed on the crumpled steel. The water gushed along sending the vampires flying and the water pushed the vampires out as they began to writhe and shriek as the salty water began to choke them. As the last trickle of water left the room, Francis turned to the huge blonde cat that was crouched on the tank – or what used to be the tank.

"Mon amour? Is zis your nekotama form?"

"My rrreal one, yes. It's trrrrue. This often happens when I get this way. You know, feel thrrrreatened orrrr anything. God knows what would have happened to me if you hadn't woken up."

Francis smiled sadly. "Oh, cheri~, you are so sweet. Come on, we'll have to see what damage ze water 'as done. Let's 'ope everyone is okay."

A/N:

Hello, sory if this has taken too long to wait but my brain's been on the blink, I suffered a bad cold the other week and last week I was on holiday in Scotland. Now, it's fine, in order for me to get my brain back on track to write this chapter was for me to re-read my previous chapters, cause I went on the internet to find out to help me get rid of my writer's block. So, I did and here it is.

Also, with Matthew being in his nekotama form, the 'rrrr' is the purr that he has or that any nekotama would have...well, at least that's how I see it in my own head! By the way, the next chapter is going to be last one. So, it'll give me the chance to finish up on my 'Hetalia Murders', 'Don't Talk to Strangers' and 'A Song for Two' stories. Hopefully after I finish 'Don't Talk to Strangers, I'll be posting up a new one so that I'll only have two or three stories do to again so all will be right with the world! Haha, anyways I hope you enjoyed this chapter before the last one will be posted up.

Reviews are love :)
