Hello everyone! Sorry it took a while to update, but I'm introducing a new OC this chapter! Yay!
Also, we're super close to 100 favorites/follows/reviews! If I can get 100 on everything in the next three updates, including this one, I'll do a double update!
I never realized that this story was so popular, until I was looking for Satoshi and Chika stories and Don't Be Trapped By Dogma was at the top of the favorites list for both of them! So that you guys so much, this makes me so happy.
Now, without further ado, read on!
It had been a couple weeks since the host's had discovered that I was a girl, and surprisingly, they had been paying more attention to me.
The twins seemed to be hanging off my shoulders more often than they did before, which means that I had been blushing more. I had come to terms with my crush on Hikaru though, and accepted it. Which meant that I could control that blush a little better.
Takashi and Mitsukuni seemed indifferent, but were hanging out with me a little more.
Tamaki seemed thrilled, and kept trying to put me in dresses along with the twins. They had yet to succeed. He was also encouraging Haruhi to hang out with me, thinking that we could do girl things together. We didn't really.
Kyouya acted the same, but stopped ordering me shirtless cosplays.
My dad and I were getting along a little better, meaning that I could stand to eat dinner with him and Tamaki in the dining hall every once in a while. Other than that we didn't really talk.
Which is why I was surprised when he called me to his office Saturday morning.
I walked into his office, nodding at his secretary as I did so. It seemed kind of weird that he modeled part of the house like an office, but I suppose it was because the school felt empty on weekends and during summer break.
"Yes father?" I said, trying to be polite. Someone had to end this feud between us, and it didn't seem like it would be him. So I decided to try and be civil at the very least.
"Saku." My father said, setting down the document he had been reading. "I wish to speak with you about something." Curious, I sat down in one of the plush chairs.
"It has recently come to my attention that you have been in quite a few dangerous situations. The judo tournament for instance. And when you were younger you were attacked at school. Your brother also told me about the beach incident. So I have decided to assign you a body guard." My father explained. My mind was still trying to take it all in, but once it did…
"What!" I said, standing up quickly. "I am perfectly capable of taking care of myself!" I said, my hands clenching. My father put his hand up, as if to silence me.
"I am aware of that. But I am also aware that each time this has happened, it was because you were caught off guard. So I have found someone who is always on guard." My father said, leaning over and pushing a button on his intercom. "Send her in." He said. A second later the door opened, and a girl walked in.
The first thing I noticed about her was that she looked like a shadow, completely black, except for her skin. She had on a skin tight leather outfit from her neck down, hugging to her body tightly. And trust me when I say this; she wasn't flat like Haruhi or I. Quite the opposite, in fact. The top was long sleeved, and ended in fingerless gloves. Her feet were covered in what looked to be light, knee high black boots. And very combat sturdy.
The next thing I noticed about her was her face. She had long, wavy black hair that would end just above her waist was it not tied into a high hairband. She had a fringe that barely hung into her eyes. Her eyes were beautiful a beautiful blue, dark on the outside and getting lighter as they got closer to her pupil. I could only see one eye though, as the other was covered by a headband that wrapped around her head. She had naturally plump dark lips, and overall, deep down I was a little jealous. The only thing that distracted from her beauty was a scar that ran from just above her lips to the tip of her chin.
"Saku, this is Akuma Hikaru, your new body guard. I have personally selected her to match your personality, in order for you to get along. I'm sure you'll be great friends. We have set up a bedroom for Miss Akuma connected to yours. You are not to go anywhere without her." My father said, waving towards the door. "You are dismissed."
"What?" I yelled after a moment. "You are not just shoving a body guard onto me randomly and expect me to be okay with it! Why don't you ever take my wants into consideration? Why?" It seemed like the only thing I ever did with my dad was fight. When I pictured having a father, this was not it.
"Saku, I am, trust me-" My father started, rubbing his eyes.
"No! No, you're not. When I pictured having a father, this was sure as hell not it. And I'll be damned if I ever talk to you again." I said, and I could see my 'father' flinch at my words. I smiled smugly, and turned to leave the room. Hikaru Akuma followed me.
As I stormed down the hall, I looked up at her. I realized that she was quite a few inches taller than me, around the twins' height or taller.
"I suppose I'm stuck with you then." I grumbled, walking towards my room. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Hikaru smirk.
"Yup, it seems so." She said. Her voice was nice, not at all what I expected it to be. We walked the rest of the way back to my room in silence. I opened my door, letting myself and Hikaru in before closing it. I walked over to my bed and sat down, while she stayed standing by the door. I studied her for a couple moments longer before sighing.
"Since I am stuck with you, we might as well get to know each other." I said, moving to a more comfortable position. "Tell me about yourself." I patted the spot next to me. Hikaru slowly walked over and sat down next to me.
"Well…my name is Hikaru Akuma, I'm almost 16. My birthday is October the 13th, my favorite color is blue. I like kendo, judo, jujitsu and playing pranks. My favorite book is How to Kill a Mockingbird, and my favorite movie is Monty Python and the Holy Grail." She said, about to go on before I interrupted her.
"Really? You like judo? So do I! Well, I prefer Mixed Martial Arts, but I compete in Judo." I said, smiling at her. I would try to make the best of this situation, since I was stuck with Hikaru for a while. Speaking of which, it would be a little awkward calling her Hikaru, for me and the other hosts.
"I know you do. Your dad gave me your file to read." Hikaru said, smiling.
"You're pretty blunt aren't you." I said, looking into her eye. She shrugged.
"I figured that since I'm your body guard, it would be easier to trust me if there weren't any secrets." She said. I smiled at her. Even though I had just met her, and I was still fuming at my dad, I really liked her.
"Okay, so why are you a body guard?" I asked her.
"Well, it's a little sad but…when I was younger, my parents got into some trouble, and they were killed. It made me realize that I didn't want that to happen to anyone else, so I became a body guard in order to protect others. I don't really have any other family, so it works for everyone. Besides, I kind of enjoy it!" Hikaru said, smiling. Although I could see a little sadness in her eye. I patted her knee.
"I'm sorry." I said, before quickly changing the subject. "Did you say that you liked Monty Python and the Holy Grail? I love that movie!" I said, smiling at her. She seemed to cheer up, and we talked about movies for a little while.
"So will you be coming to school with me?" I asked her after a couple hours of talking. She nodded.
"Yes. Although I'm technically in year two, I'll be in your class. I'll just be doing different work than you. Your father has already spoken to all the teachers about it." Hikaru said.
"And you know that I'm a boy at school right?" I asked her, cocking my head to the side. She nodded.
"Yeah your dad told me. He also showed me your friends' files." Hikaru said. I nodded.
"Um…" I said, shifting on my bed a little bit. Hikaru turned to me.
"Yes?" She said.
"I was wondering…is there anything else I can call you? I just think that it would get a little awkward, considering the guy I like is named Hikaru…" I said, blushing and looking at the ground. Hikaru basically purred.
"Of course. Call me Hikari." She said. I smiled up at her.
"Thank you." I said. I yawned, and looked at the clock. "We've been talking all day. I'm pretty tired. I might go to bed early." It was only 9:30 or so, but I did like my sleep. Hikari nodded.
"Of course. My room is right here, I'll make sure you're up in time for school." She said, going into her room. "Good night." She said before closing the door.
"Good night Hikari." I said, before getting ready in the bathroom and going to bed. I already knew that tomorrow was going to be a long day.
"Saku-san, it's time to wake up." I heard a voice say, pulling me from my sleep. I growled and rolled over.
"Saku-san please." The same voice said again, and I grunted.
"You're going to be late for school."
"Not likely." I said groggily. There was a pause.
"I'll dump this glass of water on you if you don't get up." I felt a drop of water hit my cheek, and instantly shot up.
"I'm up, I'm up." I said, panting. I looked over and saw Hikari's, holding a glass of water. Her eye was filled with amusement and she had a smirk on her face. I rolled out of bed and trudged to the bathroom, yawning. Once there I splashed water in my face, before using the restroom. I then walked out of the bathroom, and started towards the closet.
On my way there, I noticed that Hikari was making my bed. She was already dressed, wearing-
"Wait, is that the boy's uniform?" I asked her, freezing in my tracks and staring at her. She turned to me and smiled. She still had on her headband from yesterday, and I felt like it was her signature look.
"Yup!" She said. I eyed her with a blank expression.
"You know that you can't really pass as a guy, right?" I said, raising an eyebrow. Hikari laughed.
"I know. But the girls' uniform isn't very attractive, or practical. You know, in case something did happen and I needed to fight." Hikari said casually, before turning back to finish making the bed. I shrugged before continuing to my closet.
By the time I was dressed, Hikari had finished making the bed. I walked passed her and into the bathroom, pulling out the drawer that contained my makeup. I put in my contacts before started on covering up my scar. Hikari walked over and leaned against the door frame, watching.
"Why do you cover it up?" She asked after a moment. I glanced at her.
"Because it doesn't fit my image." I said, putting away all of the makeup. I walked back into the room, grabbing my backpack from the floor.
"Ready?" I asked her. She nodded, and we headed downstairs.
It was strange. Even though I had only known Hikari for a day, I was already comfortable with her. I guess my dad was right in saying that we would get along, although I would never admit it. Least of all to him.
As we walked towards the kitchen, Hikari made to go into the dining room. I grabbed her elbow and steered her away.
"I eat in the kitchen, since I don't exactly get along well with my dad." I said, as we started walking again. Hikari nodded, and stayed quiet. I opened the door to the kitchen, and was welcomed with the scent of freshly baked bread. I took a deep breath and sighed contently, walking in.
"Good morning Saku-sama." I heard voices ring out as I sat down at one of the bar stools.
"This is Hikari. She'll be eating with me in here from now on." I said, and the cook nodded.
Once we were finished eating, we walked towards the front doors. It seemed that Tamaki was still eating, which I was glad of. I didn't really feel like having an encounter with him at the moment.
The ride to school was quiet, comfortably so. I had my headphones in, and Hikari was looking out the window. We got to the school fifteen minutes earlier than I normally did.
"I didn't expect it to be pink." Hikari said, pausing and looking up at the large building.
"Yeah, it's not the manliest school." I said, shrugging. I smiled as we started walking towards class.
"Hey, pink can be a manly color. If you find the right man, that is." She said. I laughed this, and smiled up at her. She was a couple inches taller than me, but that was okay. I was used to being one of the shortest. Of course, not as short as Mitsukuni. And I might have been a little taller than Haruhi…
We walked into the classroom then, and I spotted three familiar figures sitting at their desks talking. I walked towards them, motioning for Hikari to follow.
"Hey guys." I said, walking to my seat behind Haruhi. Hikari followed. The three of them turned their heads towards us, slightly surprised.
"Oh, hey Saku. You're here early." Hikaru said as I sat down.
I shrugged.
"You mean I'm here earlier. It's not necessarily that early." I said.
"Well you usually walk in just as the bell rings." Kaoru said.
Hikari sat down in the desk next to me, silent. My friends noticed her, and turned it her with curious eyes.
"Saku…who's this?" Haruhi asked.
"Oh, this is Hikari. Hikari, this is Haruhi, Hikaru and Kaoru." I said, motioning to each in turn. She nodded.
"I am aware." She said, a blank face. I grinned and elbowed her. She smiled back and ruffled my hair slightly. I could already tell that she was comfortable around me too.
"Hey!" I said, shoving her hands off my head. I straightened out my hair, having forgone my hat this morning. I turned back to the others, who were looking at us with curious gazes.
"Hikari's my personal bodyguard." I explained. I could instantly see questions spring into their eyes.
"Bodyguard?" Kaoru asked.
"Why would you need a bodyguard? Are you in danger or something?" Hikaru asked. I could see the worry and panic in his eyes. I sighed.
"Not that I'm aware of. My father just decided this yesterday. And apparently Tamaki doesn't have one, it's just me. Probably because I'm a girl." I said, sighing again. "Sexist bastard." I added, muttering under my breath. I swear I could see my friends sweat drop, but I brushed it aside as Hikaru opened his mouth to speak. Before he could, however, Sensei walked in and class began.
It was now after school, and I was on my way to the host club. I was normally always the last to arrive, and today was no different.
Classes had gone fine. Hikari had stayed in her desk next to me, observing my fellow classmates and taking notes on what the teacher said.
I paused in front of the club room door, and glanced up at Hikari.
"I know that you've read all their files, but I still want you to prepare yourself for whatever's inside, got it?" I said, placing my hand on the door handle. Hikari nodded, slightly amused.
"Got it." She said, placing a hand over my shoulder. I smiled and opened the doors, and walked into the host club.
"Hey guys!" I called, walking in normally. They all looked up from whatever they were doing. It looks like today was not a cosplay day, thank god. I don't think I wanted Hikari's first impression of my friends to be a goofy/stupid/probably shirtless one.
"My sister! You've finally arrived!" Tamaki said, sweeping me up into a hug. This was a normal occurrence by now, so I wasn't bothered by it. Hikari must have really done her research, because she didn't seem alarmed at all by Tamaki's actions.
"Who's this?" Tamaki asked, once he had finally set me down.
"Hikari Akuma." Hikari said, bowing slightly. "Your father hired me as a body guard for Saku." She explained.
"Body guard!" Tamaki screamed, turning to me and shaking me by the shoulders. By now the others had come over, with a mixture of confusion and worry on their faces.
"Why would you need a body guard, Saku-chan? Is someone trying to hurt you?" Mitsukuni asked, tears welling up in his eyes as he clutched Usa-chan.
"I don't think so, no. Actually, I believe it is because he is a sexist bastard and that Tamaki told him about the beach." I said, glaring at Tamaki. He backed off slightly, but still looked worried. I sighed.
"It's really nothing to worry about. If it was a big deal, you would have a guard too, not just me." I said, shrugging. I walked over to one of the couches, setting my bag down. They seemed to calm down at that.
"I won't to introduce you all to her because she already knows who you are." I said, lazily plopping down next to my bag.
"Yup! Like I know that you're Honey-senpai, and that's Usa-chan." Hikari said, smiling down at him.
"How do you know that?" Mitsukuni asked, eyes wide.
"It's my job to know everything about my client's friends and family." Hikari said. The twins slid up to Kyouya, leaning in towards him.
"Kyouya." They said. "What do you know about her?" They asked, regarding Hikari.
"Yes, what do you have on me? I'm curious." Hikari said, suddenly appearing next to them with her hands behind her back. The twins jumped, but Kyouya just calmly started typing on his computer.
"Let's see here…ah, here you are. It took me a minute to find you." Kyouya said, skimming through her information.
"Well? What'd you got?" I asked, standing up and walking over.
"Hikaru Akuma, called Hikari for obvious reasons." Everyone glanced at Hikaru, who shrugged. "Age 16, a master at kendo, jujitsu and judo. Trained body guard, no known family. Unknown past." Kyouya said, pushing his glasses back up his nose. "It seems that there's a lot of information missing." He said. Hikari shrugged.
"Yeah, and I'd like to keep it that way." She said. It was silent for a minute before I glanced at the clock.
"Hey, isn't it time to open?" I asked. Everyone froze for a moment, before sprinting to the door.
"Welcome."
"Hello ladies." I said, walking up to my station. Mayu, Iki, Shina, and another of my regulars, Yasu, were seated around the table. "This is Hikari, a friend of mine. She'll be joining us from now on." I said, taking a seat next to Mayu. Hikari sat down on my other side.
"Hello Hikari-san, it's nice to meet you. My name is Mayu." Mayu said, and the girls each introduced themselves in turn.
"How do you know Saku-kun, Hikari-san?" Yasu asked, cocking her head to the side.
"I'm his body guard." Hikari said simply.
"Body guard?" Iki asked, eyes filled with worry. "Why would you need a body guard?" She turned to me, along with the other girls.
"Are you in danger?"
"Is someone trying to kill you?"
"Oh kidnap you?" They all asked franticly. I smiled at them nervously.
"It's nothing, I assure you. If it was, then Tamaki would have one too." I said, giving them a small closed mouth smile. "So how has your days' been?" I asked them, and hosting began.
Eventually, Hikari left my table to look around the rest of the club. First she started with Tamaki.
As usual, he was wooing girls with a seductive look on his face, and what was seemingly lust sparkling in his eyes.
"T-Tamaki-kun…w-why are you so d-dreamy?" A brunette girl whispered, hiding her blushing face behind her hair.
"Because you inspire me to be, my love." Tamaki said, setting down his tea cup and sweeping her into his arms. Their noses her inches apart, and the girl could feel Tamaki's breath on her lips. Her eyes darkened with lust, as well as widened. Her face flushed, and it didn't look very flattering with her skin tone. The only thing running through her mind was that if she leaned forward, even in the slightest, she would be able to kiss the host club king.
"O-oh, T-T-Tamaki-kun…" The girl said, closing her eyes as she started to feel overwhelmed. The other girls at Tamaki's table squealed, wishing they were in the shy girls place. Hikari wrinkled her nose at them, and lightly shook her head. She couldn't believe that those girls actually fell for his foolish acts.
She did have to admit though, he was a good actor.
Hikari walked over to Honey and Mori next, skipping over Kyouya since he didn't technically host.
Honey and Mori were doing what they always did, ate cake and stayed silent. The girls cooed as Honey shoved yet another piece of cake into his mouth, which must have been his third since Hikari started watching him. A shy girl in front of Mori was trying to tell the tall senior about her day, to which he just nodded at the appropriate times.
After finishing his fifth piece of cake, Honey decided to take a break from shoving his face. He still had some frosting on the corner of his mouth however, which Mori noticed and in turn wiped it off with his thumb. The girls squealed, as was expected. Seriously, did these girls do anything else?
Hikari walked over to the twins next, not really knowing what to expect from them. They were currently only hosting two girls, and sat at a table and chairs instead of couches. They were talking about their classes, which they seemed to share with the two girls.
"Yeah, I thought that the math teacher-" One twin was saying, but quickly cut himself off as he jerked his hand down in pain. "Ow!" He cried, glancing down at his finger. It was bleeding slightly, although Hikari had no clue how it happened.
"Kaoru! Are you okay?" The other twin, who must have been Hikaru, rushed to him.
"Yeah…it's just a scratch. I cut it on a piece of chipped china." Kaoru said, frowning.
"No, you're not okay. Let me see." Hikaru said, drawing his brother close. He brought the cut finger up to his lips, gently licking the blood off. He stared into his brother's eyes the entire time. The girls started squealing something about 'brotherly love', and even Hikari blushed a little bit.
She would never admit it, but she had a thing for redheads.
Hikari ended up watching the twins for a little longer than was necessary, before moving to Haruhi, who didn't currently have any guests.
"Is it always like this?" Hikari whispered to the cross dresser, who was cleaning tables.
"Yeah, pretty much." Haruhi said, stopping a moment to talk to her. "Why? Do you not like it?" She questioned. Hikari shook her head.
"No, it's not that. It's just that the last client I worked for was very…reserved, I guess you could say. It's just a little overwhelming at first, but I'll get over it." Hikari explained, giving a huge smile at Haruhi. The young girl couldn't help but think how pretty the black haired girl would be if she stopped hiding behind that headband of hers.
"So how do you like the host club?" I asked Hikari as we walked towards the Dojo. She shrugged.
"Eh, it was pretty cool. A little weird though, but I think I'll get used to it." She said. I nodded.
"Yeah, probably." I said. We walked in silence for a couple minutes.
"So which friends do you have at the dojo?" Hikari asked.
"Satoshi-kun and Chika-chan." I said, grinning. I loved teasing Chika, even if he wasn't with me.
"Oh, Honey and Mori's siblings?" Hikari commented. I froze in my tracks, while she kept walking.
"Wait, what?!" I said, surprised. My mind was working overdrive trying to process this new piece of information.
"Oh, you didn't know, did you? I assumed you did, since you said they were your best friends." Hikari said, amusement filling her eye. I groaned and hid my blushing face in my hands.
"Please say you're kidding." I moaned, peeking through my hands up at her smirking face. I groaned again. "You're not kidding."
"There there." Hikari said, walking back towards me and patting me on the back. "It's alright sweetie."
"Shut up." I said shoving her away, my face still beat red. "Let's just get going."
Once we arrived at the dojo five minutes later, I walked up to Sensei.
"Sensei." I said, bowing to him.
"Yes Saku? What is it?" He asked, turning to me.
"This is Hikari Akuma. My father hired her as a body guard. I was wondering if there was any way she could train with me." I explained. Sensei raised his eyebrow.
"Body guard? Why would you need a body guard?" He asked. I shrugged.
"I don't know. He seemed to think I needed one, though." I said. Sensei turned to Hikari.
"What's your rank?" He asked her.
"Tenth dan, Sensei." Hikari said, bowing respectfully.
"You can train with Saku and the others then. Get into your gi and get started. Saku can show you around." Sensei said, before returning to what he was doing. We bowed once more before we rushed into the changing room.
"Ugh I feel so stupid." I said, tying on my belt. I peeked out of the room, and saw Satoshi and Chika talking. "I mean, they look almost identical."
"Satoshi and Mori you mean? Yeah, they do. How did you miss that?" Hikari said, slipping on her shirt. I sighed.
"I don't know. I mean, it's not like I've ever stared at Mori before. And he's pretty tall, and a little intimidating." I said.
"Still…" Hikari said, about to go on. But I cut her off before she could.
"Are you ready to go out?" I asked her, somewhat nervously. She nodded, and we headed out of the changing room. I saw Chika and Satoshi still talking to each other, their backs to us. I ran up to them, and wrapped my arms around Satoshi's back. I hid my blushing face in his back as he jumped.
"Satoshi-kun." I whined, drawing out his name.
"S-Saku?" Satoshi said, twisting around in shock. I held onto him though, and continued to hide my face. "W-what are you doing here?" He was referring as how I normally didn't come on hosting days. But I had gotten done early today, so I decided to show Hikari the dojo.
"Why didn't you tell me Takashi-senpai was your brother?" I whined, my voice muffled by his shirt. He froze, and I could hear his mouth opening and closing as he tried to find an answer. I peeked up at Chika, noticing how he was staring at us.
"And your Mitsukuni-senpai's little brother?" I said. He was more rhetorical than anything, but he nodded. I groaned and buried my face into Satoshi's gi again.
"I feel like an idiot." I said. It was still for a moment before I felt Satoshi pat my head.
"It's okay, we should have told you." He said. I shook my head, and continued to feel like an idiot.
"Don't worry, she just feels like an idiot because you and Mori-senpai look almost identical." Hikari said. I pulled away from Satoshi, my face still red. I glared at her, and she shrugged.
"Let's just drop it." I mumbled, avoiding my friends' eyes. Satoshi laughed lightly and pulled me into a one armed hug, smiling.
"It's okay Saku-chan. We still love you." Satoshi said. I grinned lightly and shoved him away, laughing slightly.
"Of course you do, how could you not?" I said, somewhat back to my sarcastic cheerful self.
"Well, I could think of a few reasons…" Satoshi said, pretending to count his fingers. I elbowed him, but smiled.
"Who're you?" Chika spoke up, referring to Hikari. I turned back to them.
"Oh, this is my friend Hikari. My father hired her as my body guard because he thought I 'couldn't protect myself'." I said, making quotation marks with my hands.
"Why?" Chika asked, confused. I rolled my eyes, and crossed my arms. Satoshi mimicked my movements next to me, but I ignored him. For now.
"Because he's sexist." I said. I saw Satoshi's mouth moving at the same time as mine, having predicted what I would say. Except he exaggerated them, making me look sassier.
"Hey!" I said, rounding on him. "I'll get you for that!" I said, and started to chase him. He took off running, me not far behind.
"Hey! Settle this on the sparring mat." Chika said. "I'd rather that you guys not ruin the dojo." He said. Hikari laughed.
So we did, and I won.
