A/n: So this chapter has not one but two. I couldn't choose between Skye's parents and SkyeWard Fluffiness so I did them both! NothatRose, the SkyeWard is for you. :) Enjoy my love!

The Bus.

Hanover, Lower Saxony, Germany.

6 hours before mission.

11 hours before Skye's use of her powers.

The bus was landed in an remote area in the mountains of Hanover. The team just finished dinner and Melinda was washing up. She watched as each of her team went their separate ways as she stood drying off the dishes. She noticed Simmons headed back towards the lab, while Fitz went to bed. She also noticed how Ward lingered a little longer than necessary out by Skye's door.

He's told the girl, what? Goodnight four times already? Melinda couldn't help but smirk and shake her head. She noticed how Ward has become very protective after 'the incident.' He won't admit it out loud, be he cares deeply for her. Part of her was happy that Skye had someone like Ward, another part of her just wanted to shove him against the wall and tell him to stay away from her. She will admit, she has grown overly fond of the girl. More than she cares to admit, but she has a soft spot for her.

Skye was the daughter she longed for. After her and Coulson, she tried to make repairs; saying it wasn't her fault to get pregnant with another man's baby, it was just a mission. She planned to get rid of the child and start over with Phil again. But when they went to her appointment, and she heard her child's heart beat for the first time; she knew she could never give up her child.

Phil was over the moon. Even though the child wasn't his, he told everyone differently. She would laugh when someone would try to say otherwise and felt sorry for those who did. Phil would throw down with someone over her and the baby. He spoiled her baby more than her. He painted the room, bought the clothes for both boy and girl, read to her stomach at night when she was dead asleep. He was everything she hoped for in a father for her child.

So when they left the States for Indonesia, in hopes to have a calm birth, she was relieved. At first she was afraid that he was sending her away, but she calmed when Fury told her Phil was coming along. New Guinea was as beautiful as in the pictures. Beaches, huts, jungles that ran for miles on miles. Melinda never wanted to leave.

Around her seventh month, Desiree Fontaine; level six agent; paid them both a visit. She was shocked at first, knowing Fury sent her, but Desiree said otherwise. Both Phil and Melinda were suspicious of Desiree's arrival, but blew it off as nothing. On her third day in New Guinea, Melinda went into labor. Desiree left them to fetch a midwife from on the tribes. Melinda advised against it, but her child had other plans.

Nineteen hours later, her child; a girl, was born. Melinda never got to hold her, or tell her how much she loved her daughter. The midwife left the hut with the child, heading off towards Desiree. She feared the worse and Phil just held her tighter. Their world came crashing down when Desiree returned, saying her child had died.

Phil held Melinda closer to him that night, as she wailed and screamed till she was horse. She didn't want to believe her only child was gone. And her suspicions about her child's death grew when she saw Desiree leave within the middle of the night. She did her best to hunt down Desiree, wanting to ask her what really happened to her daughter. When Melinda got wind that Desiree died saving an 0-8-4, she knew deep down that was her daughter.

When her and Phil picked up Richard Lumley, and he told them of Avery and the 0-8-4, Melinda cried tears of joy. She knew she found her daughter, but she didn't want to be wrong. It wasn't until now, that Melinda had Skye's DNA. She glanced down at the glass in her hand, the one that left Skye's lipstick around the rim, and smiled. She watched as Ward finally went to his bunk as she head towards the stair case and into the lab.

Simmons jumped when she saw Melinda standing there. Melinda walked closer, handed her the glass.

"I need you to run this and compare it to my DNA." Jemma looked at her questioningly before putting down the sample she was studying.

"Did Agent Coulson..."

"No. I'm ordering it."

"But..."

"Jemma," Melinda smiled lightly at the younger woman. "Please. Whatever you find bring it to me." Jemma nodded her head and went to work. Melinda went to head out the lab before turning back around.

"Jemma," She glanced up to look at the older woman. "This stays between us. Okay?" Jemma smiled and nodded her head.

"Yes, ma'am. It should only take thirty minutes."

"Alright. Well you know where to find me." Melinda left the lab, heading towards her bunk. Once there she pulled out the box that was under her bed and went through it. She smiled as she looked over the aged sonograph photos she had. She knew Phil still held on to his copies. She picked up the next one and started to tear up a little. It was a picture of her and Phil, him standing behind her with his arms wrapped protectively over her growing bump.

She traced the photo with her fingers, almost in a manner of trying to remember that day. She could still feel the cool Indonesian wind that blew off the coast. The smell of fresh baked goods and fish filled her nostrils. Her eyes were closed in a resting manner as she remembered that March day. A knock on the door jerked her from her thoughts. She reacted by grabbing her gun from the nightstand, but quickly replaced it.

She opened her door to see Simmons standing there nervously. She smiled lightly at May as she handed her the paper work.

"Before you say anything, I've ran it three times." Simmons left and headed towards her bunk without another word. Melinda watched as the young agent disappeared before reclosing her door. She moved the box and pictures to the other side of the bed, making room for her to sit. She read the last page over and over again, letting tears form and fall from her face. She smiled happily as she let out a teary laugh.

After all these years, Melinda couldn't believe it. She finally found her daughter. And she was right next door to her. The only down side was that her own daughter didn't know she existed. Without giving it any further thought, she jumped from her bed and raced to Coulson's office. She threw the door open, closing it softly behind her. Coulson looked up from his paperwork and say tears running down her face with a smile plastered. Coulson stood and walked around, placing his hands on her arms.

"Mel, what's the matter?" She handed him the paper and watched him read over it.

"I found her, Phil." Coulson looked at her in shocked and then glanced back down at the paper and back at her. In the first time in forever he was speechless.

"But..."

"It's true! I had Jemma run it. Skye's my daughter." She grabbed his face in her palms and kissed his lips lightly. "Our daughter."

"But she's not..." She shook her head lightly, beaming up at him.

"I don't care who her father is. You are her dad. You loved her before she was born..."

"And I still do." He wiped her tears away, kissing her lips softly. "I'll always love you both." Her smile grew as she traced the lines under his eyes.

"I know." She leaned up to kiss him, pulling him closer. He pulled away to look at her, smiling deeply. His smile faded and a serious look replaced his once happy one.

"We can't tell her." Melinda pulled away, her eyes growing large.

"What?! Phil..." He held his hand up to stop her.

"At least not till the end of the mission. If we tell her now, she won't be able to concentrate on her task." Melinda let out a sigh, nodding her head lightly in agreement.

Few hours later.

Once Coulson returned back to the bus, and Melinda had them in the air; she marched towards Coulson's office, slamming his door behind her.

"Have a seat Melinda." She glared at her lover as she sat down in front of him.

"Mel,"

"Don't, Mel, me. We should have told her! I should have told her before the mission!" Melinda screamed, standing from her seat.

"And what? Compromise her and the mission?" She glared at him.

"She deserves to know the truth."

"I agree. But not right now." Melinda threw her hands in the air, running them through her hair.

"Then when? Phil, I just saw my daughter defeat to people with the flick of her wrist. She needs to know what she is." Coulson looked up at her, standing and making his way towards her.

"I know. But what are you going to tell her? You can't just tell her she's different because of her father and not except her to ask questions about him" Melinda broke down and Phil pulled her into his arms, rubbing her back.

"He's a monster. I wish you could have been her father."

"I know. But who her father is, doesn't change the fact that she's our daughter." Melinda pulled away, wiping her eyes.

"I know." She let out a sigh and Phil pulled her back into his arms. "How do you tell your only child that her father is some sort of fire demon?" She glanced up at him and he let out a chuckle. She punched him in the arm and he flinched.

"I don't know, love. But I'm sure we can figure it out." She hugged him closer before pulling away.

"I should get back to Skye." Phil nodded his head lightly and watched her leave. He knew she was mad that he didn't tell her who he called, but he knows when she does, it won't be pretty. Coulson let out a sigh and sat back down. He reached in his top drawer and pulled out a bottle of scotch, drinking straight from the bottle. He didn't have time for a glass right now, but he just didn't care.

Present Time.

Hôtel la Pérouse

Nice, France.

Ward had to admit, Coulson had some fantastic connections. The hotel was a lot better than the previous ones he's been in. The double French balcony doors; the coast line view; the massive fluffy beds, oh yeah. Grant could get used to this. It took a few hours to settle in, mainly because it took a while to calm Wanda down.

She basically destroyed the lab and cargo area. She 'accidentally' scratched Lola and Coulson 'accidentally' shot her with an I.C.E.R. Well so he says. When they made it to the hotel, everyone was giving them strange looks. Two sleeping women, in two different men's arms; one with a bandage wrapped around her head and the other covered in dirt. Well, they were all covered in dirt, but some more than others.

When they reached the top floor, the first thing Grant noticed was how quiet the halls were. Coulson handed them each keys. Grant would be sharing with Skye. Melinda just glared at the older agent, insisting she be the one Skye shares a room with. Grant felt shivers run down his back and not in the pleasant way. Grant stared back till she let out a huff and went towards her and Coulson's room. Wanda was staying with Melinda and Coulson in their room. This should be interesting. And FitzSimmons were sharing a room, of course. Nothing new there.

Once Grant reached his and Skye's room, he gently placed her on the large double bed. He moved a piece of hair out of her face and smiled when her head turned into his hand. He tucked her in before heading towards the bathroom for a shower. He didn't know how long he had been in there, but once he returned in nothing but shorts and saw Skye gone, he panicked. He noticed the balcony doors were open and the curtains blowing in the breeze.

When he got closer he say her in a long summer silk dress. Most of her back was bare and her hair was braided on the right side. Grant's breath caught in his throat as he took in the view that was her. The sun was setting over the ocean and the orange glow bounced off Skye's soft caramel skin. She was a sight to behold and one he didn't want to forget.

"I know you're there." Her feather like voice brought him out of his daze. He smiled and moved closer to her, wrapping his arms around her waist and bringing her closer to him. She felt his broad muscles touch her skin and she felt on fire.

Skye couldn't explain their connection, but it was there and it intensified every time they touched. She leaned back into his chest and got a smell of him. It was one that she enjoyed and loved. She felt him nib and kiss her shoulder. She suck in a breath when she felt him hit the right spot. She moved her neck a little to give him better access. His arms tighten around her and she reached an arm behind him to play with his hair on the nape of his neck.

"Grant..." She didn't mean to let out the moan but she couldn't help it. She pulled away to look him the eyes, to see it clouded not with lust but love.

"Skye.." The way he said her name made her weak in her knees. She looked down at his feet as her hands laid out on his chest.

"Please tell me this isn't a mistake. That you feel like this because you pity me. I don't know if..." His lips cut her off as he pulled her closer to him. The kiss grew more passionate and she slid her hands up into his hair. His hands moved and one kept her in place and the other tangled in her hair. They pulled away, foreheads touching as the gasped for air.

"I don't pity you, Skye. I don't know how, but I care deeply for you." She opened her eyes to look into his to see if he was lying and knew he wasn't. She smiled lightly as she traced his lips with her finger tips.

"I know I should have said this earlier," She watched him sallow nervously and could feel his tension. She tired sending off waves of calm and it seemed to work. She kissed him softly and pulled away to smile at him. He smiled back, feeling confident.

"I love you." She let out a breath and stared at him, looking in shock. Okay I wasn't expecting that!

"You do?" Of course he does, idiot! Skye could feel his love and she knew her emotions were betraying her also.

"I do." He kept smiling that cheesy grin at her and she couldn't help but smile back. She pulled him back into a deeper kiss before pulling away.

"Good." She smiled. "Cause I love you too, Robot." He let out a laugh as he picked her up and spun her around. He kissed her deeply as he set her back down. She ran her hands up and down his arms while gazing into his eyes.

"I guess I'm your girlfriend now." He chuckled and pulled her closer.

"I guess you are. Just so you know you're stuck with me." She intertwined her fingers behind his neck.

"There's no better place to be, than with you." He smiled down at her.

"Good" He captured her lips in a kiss and pulled away. She smirked at him and he knew he was in trouble.

"You know, I could use a back massage." He raised an eyebrow at her.

"Oh really?" She stepped closer and pecked his lips.

"Really." She pulled away and walked back into the room. She turned around and winked at him as she made her way over to the bed to lay down. Grant smiled and let out a breath. Oh yeah. I'm definitely in trouble.
