Disclaimer: I do not own Gakuen Alice or its characters.
Disclaimer: I do not own the idea for this story. The original Blue Rose Angel was written by Chichiru Chu who mysteriously stopped writing. I think that this is a really good concept though. I will start it off the same way, but it'll be different.
11th Rose
Mission
Mikan's alias, Kyoko, heartlessly pierced every AAO grunt that came her way with the alice of ice. Before her dead victims' lifeless bodies fell to the ground, she was already stabbing another victim. Natsume followed behind, burning the ones she purposely left behind for him. Doing this, they made their way to the core of the base. Although heavily guarded, they passed through with ease using their alices and found themselves outside a locked metal door.
With no need to maintain secrecy, Mikan spoke without the use of her telepathy alice. "Here we are." She coldly glanced at the dead bodies behind them. "Looks like we saved Blue Rose Angel a bit of work. She might dislike the stench of death though." She inspected the door.
"What do you suppose is behind the door? Other then the files we need to get." Natsume said. "Getting here was way too easy."
Mikan rolled her eyes. "Although it was indeed easy, you wouldn't know since I did all the work. There are more people behind this door. I can sense some strong alices. Can you, Kuro Neko?"
"Three, but there's something off."
"That's because the third one is a child. We must be merciless, but be careful with the child. It will most likely be used as bait against us." Mikan placed her hand on the door. "Ready, Kuro Neko?"
He nodded. The door blasted open. Mikan and Natsume stepped over the fallen door and laid their eyes on the people before them. A young boy stood in between two men.
Don't be fooled by the boy, Kuro Neko. He possesses the alice of decay. There's something off about him, but I can't put my finger on it. Mikan walked forward and scoffed. "Of all the alices in the AAO, they assign a mere boy, an incompetent fool, and a stick-in-the-mud to cover this room? I think you're underestimating me."
The man with the scar spoke first. "Nice to see you again, Kyoko. It's nice to know that you're still a cocky, little princess. How is it I'm incompetent when you couldn't even kill me back in China?"
"Couldn't and wouldn't are two different things. Don't worry, Shogo. This time I plan to." Mikan said as an ice dagger formed in her hand. Shogo's a multi-alice user. Teleportation and wind.
Shogo opened his mouth to speak, but the other man swung his arm across him. "Enough of this useless banter."
Before he continued, Mikan muttered 'stick in the mud' under her breath. If it weren't for the situation, Natsume would have laughed.
The man glared at Mikan. "I heard that. Selim, attack them." The boy stepped forward, ready to follow his order.
When I say so, go after Shogo while I take care of the old geezer. Do not hesitate to kill him. "I'd rather kill someone my own size." Mikan said as a circle of ice appeared and trapped Selim in a dome of ice. NOW!
Natsume darted towards Shogo, the flames already formed in his hands. Before reaching Shogo, a gust blew out his flames and Shogo teleported behind Natsume. Reacting quickly, Natsume turned and landed a kick on Shogo's side. Another gust blew Natsume away creating distance between the two. Shogo teleported in front of Natsume and punched him in the gut. Natsume lit the area near Shogo's feet on fire, eliciting a howl of pain. The two kept at it, neither one gaining the advantage.
Meanwhile, Mikan approached the other man. "I'll give you a chance, Kuno. Either hand it over or I'll kill all three of you." She said, playing with her dagger before putting it away.
Kuno scoffed. "You would kill a child?" He pulled out a sword. "You're even more heartless than they say."
Mikan smirked. "You've underestimated me, Kuno. I won't be killing a child tonight." Mikan kept her composure as Kuno ran towards her with a fierce intent to kill. Right before the sword would pierce her skull, the sword fell to the ground with a clang that resonated throughout the room. Kuno desperately clutched his head and started screaming. Mikan picked up his sword.
"Please! Please make it stop!" Kuno continued to scream.
Mikan pointed the sword at him. "Do you like my new alice, Kuno? Hmmm. I wonder if one of your nightmares is being killed by your own sword." With that said, Mikan sliced off his head with the sword. She let go of it and turned around. "Time to help Kuro Neko."
Both Natsume and Shogo were panting and fatigued yet they were still in combat. Natsume was digusted with Kuno's murder, but he kept fighting. Natsume kicked Shogo, sending him into the wall. Shogo didn't move. Smirking, Natsume got ready to deliver the final blow, but before he could do so, an ice dagger flew past his head and into Shogo's heart. Natsume scowled and faced Mikan.
"What gives, Kyoko?"
"You took too long." She shrugged. "Get what we need and let's go. Blue Rose Angel will be here soon. I don't want to run into her."
Natsume dragged himself towards their objective. "What about that kid?" He asked gesturing in Selim's direction. Believe or not, Selim was still trapped in the ice Mikan conjured up earlier. What's with that ice? With his alice, he should have gotten out by now. Natsume thought.
"That my friend, is a secret." Mikan said. An ice sword formed in her hand. "I am simply going to kill him." She started making her way to Selim.
Natsume's eyes widen. Using the last bit of energy he had, he rushed across the room and stepped in front of Mikan's path. "Kyoko. You can't just kill a child."
Mikan shoved past Natsume. He attempted to stop her once again, but she had frozen his feet to the ground. Once she got to the ice dome, she lifted her sword over it while facing Natsume. The silhouette beneath the ice began to shake in fear. A muffled plea of mercy penetrated the eerie silence. Mikan looked at Natsume right in the eyes. "One, I can do what I want. And two, he is not a child."
Mikan stabbed the silhouette through the ice as Natsume yelled in protest. The dark silhouette stopped moving and the red of his blood filled the empty spaces of the dome. Mikan released the hold on Natsume's feet. He fell down.
"How could you?! How could you just merciless kill a kid?!"
Mikan looked at Natsume with slight digust. "Dude, I just said he wasn't a child. Just watch." Sure enough, something strange began to happen. The size of the silhouette began to rapidly increase in size. Eventually, the dome shattered from the lack of space, revealing the dead body of a full grown man. "See? He merely manipulated his age. Ate the gulliver candy stuff."
Natsume stood up and tried to regain his composure. He scowled. "You should have told me earlier." He said, walking towards her.
Mikan giggled. "Where's the fun in that?" She ruffled Natsume's hair and teleported them back to the Northern Forest. There, Persona was waiting for them.
"Right on time. I trust that the mission was a success?" Persona said.
Mikan giggled. "Yup!" She tossed the stuff to Persona. Natsume was still scowling. Persona nodded in content and left them be. Mikan ruffled Natsume's hair again. "Bye bye, little Kuro Neko. Until next time." Gotta go blow shit up. She teleported away.
Natsume, still scowling and slightly shaking, took off his mask. He started for the dorms, muttering 'crazy bitch' under his breath.
A/N: If it hasn't been obvious by now, I am not updating regularly any more. I found that writing the mission scene was quite difficult and it took me forever to finish writing this chapter. I'm just going to update when I can, but I will not just "disappear". Thanks for reading. And as always, follow and review! It's greatly appreciated.
