After twelve years of teaching at Hogwarts, I decided to enter the Wizengamot to help my friends in our quest of bringing technology to the Wizarding World without losing any of the traditions. Trying to convince all the oldest members it was a difficult task but, as I was the heir of one of the founders, the job was done without any problems.
Each day, after the long sessions, I would go home to find my wife teaching our children the different subjects they would need at school. Servis, Xavier, Lance, and Merope would be starting this year with all their friends and they were anxious.
"Daddy! Look, I'm writing a letter for grandpa!" Merope yelled as soon as she saw me in the room.
"He will be happy," I said kissing her head and she ran to her desk and continued to write. I could see Servis on his favorite corner, reading a book, Xavier drawing next to a window and Lance was sitting next to his mother, cuddling against her. I sat with them and I kissed Sloan. "How was your day, love?"
"I have a good day, the children were nice and Tinki took care of the food," Sloan said, and I nodded. "Father will be coming with Sirius and the boys."
"Where are Carina and Sar?" I asked when I did not see them around. At six years old, they were very smart, and we had to tag them all the time.
"Each of them was punished and they are in their rooms," She said annoyed.
"What happened?" I asked confused.
"Carina decided that she was old enough to use all my makeup and she painted my vanity table with my lipstick. I have to buy everything again." Sloan said angrily, and I winced. "Salazar wanted to prove his brothers that he was the strongest and broke my favorite coffee table, jumping on it."
"So, how long will be this punishment?" I asked looking at my nails.
"As long as I feel that they understood their errors and apologize." She said looking at me with a raised brow. After some minutes, she left the room and I sighed.
"Dad, she was really angry," Servis said sitting next to me. "I told them to stop but they just smirked."
"Sery, you know how they are; they think that she will fall to their antics and they spend part of their week in their rooms," I said, and he nodded.
"I'm worried about leaving mom alone after the start of the year," Servis said looking down.
"I will be here for her, I promise," I said hugging our oldest son. He was very sensible and loved his mother very much. They used to read together, and their corner and Carina and Salazar were very jealous of them. "Grandfather will be here soon,"
"Yes, he told me that he would bring a new book for me," Servis said and Xavier called him.
I sat on the couch, closing my eyes and remembering my childhood; I never thought that I would have a big family as the one I had; beautiful children, a loving wife who gave me my sons and daughters. Life was nice. The flood activated, and Severus was in the house with his family.
"Tom, where is Sloan?" Severus asked, and I sighed.
"She was angry with Carina and Salazar again," I said, and he shook his head. "They love to drive her mad and they are punished again."
"Lyra stayed at the house as she was down with the flue. Winky is taking care of her." Severus said, and I saw Sirius talking with the boys. "I'm worried about Sloan; she is not at her best at the moment."
"I know, I just don't know how to take care of this with the children at the house," I said, and he nodded. "In a week, they will leave, and the twins will start the Hogwarts's preparation, so I will have more time for that."
"Just remember that you can tell us if you need some help," Severus said and I saw Sirius nodding.
"Thanks, I will tell you as soon as I know something," I said, and Sloan entered the room, so we stopped talking. "Love, we are ready for dinner as soon as you tell us."
"Just give me five minutes and everything will be ready. Could you just go to the table? Carina and Salazar are eating in their rooms." Sloan said leaving the room.
I led the rest to the dining room and we sat while we talked about the latest news. The school was ready for our children, Albus got some new teachers for the new classes and the new sports like soccer and tennis. Also, a side of the Black Lake was ready for the swimming lessons. The parents were hay with the additions and especially when the school stope asking for parchments and quills.
Dinner was nice, the food was great as usual; my love knew how to make my favorite food and more. She tried to be calm during dinner, but we could see that she was nervous so as soon as we ended the meal, I asked the boys to go to their rooms with Tom. I led her to our sitting room and Severus followed us with Sirius who looked worried.
"Sloan, we are worried. You are no fine and we don't know what to do to help you." I said, and she looked down.
"Little girl, we are here, if something is not good, we can help you…." Severus started saying.
"I'm pregnant again." She blurted, and I blinked. "We took care of this some years ago, I went to Saint Mungus and they told me that I would not be able to have another child after the procedure. I was confident about this."
"So, what happened?" Sirius asked.
"They didn't know that sometimes it will reverse itself." She said, and we nodded. "They don't know what is going to happen with this baby, she or he could be normal, a squib or the next Merlin."
"So, you are feeling guilty for this?" I asked, and she sober softly. "Love, I told you once that I would love all the children that you could give me. I don't care if he is a muggle."
"But, but I could know, I could do something…" she said, and I hugged her while she cried on my chest.
"Little girl, we can take care of this, we will deal with this as a family," Severus said, and Sloan nodded smiling for the first time in weeks.
