This isn't a remake of the chapter I just kind of added more to it to give it more emotion. Please RxR to let me know if this kind of makes it better.
The Destruction of Moldor; Betrayal
Airi! Soul's voice sounds so distant but fades in slowly, Airi wake up!
"Ngh…Soul…?"
Wake up! My whole body hurts and I feel something crusty on my face as I open my eyes. Dust fogs up the air around me allowing for no sunlight to come in. I move my stiff arm up to my face and feel what's on my face. When I look dried blood stains my hand. Inspecting my head further I find a gash on my forehead still wet with drying blood. Still in a daze I somehow manage to lift myself up even though my body shouts at me to stay still. I try combing my fingers through my hair to get it out of my face but it's messy and uneven. Most of it is short like something tore it to shreds only here and there does it remain long.
"Soul…?"
I'm here… I can sense the relief in his voice as I call out to him,
"What happened? Where…?"
I don't know…what ever happened seemed to knock me out for a time too. I just came around not too long ago.
"That's a scary thought if it made you unconscious." I take a better look around at the place. Buildings are completely reduced to ruble and there's the stench of something foul in the air. There's no sound to be heard, no birds, no animals or people, not even the wind. It's so quiet.
Can you stand?
"I think so…" I stand making sure nothing is broken before looking around again. "Where are the others?"
Don't know but I don't hear anyone around.
"We need to find the others they could be hurt…" there's a low grow from behind me and I slowly turn. There a monster that seems to resemble a wolf stands. It's mouth seems to split into four different directions showing the inside of it's mouth and instead of two eyes it has three while one remains at the center of its head. Its tail splits in two creating something that looks like blades on its tail. It's ears are replaced with human looking arms with claws. The creature itself stands towering over me as it stares down at me. It opens its mouth lunging at me. "Soul!" a massive force makes quick work of the creature as Soul slices the arms off and decapitates the creature. The rest of it goes down with a huge thud. My back hits a piece of ruble as I step away from the head. No…no that's impossible! How can it be? Where is this place?! What happened? This monster is from… "S-Soul…how…?"
I don't know.
"We…we need to find the others." I tare myself from the brick wall and begin searching around for the others. it's so quiet that it's as if my footsteps are echoing. Here and there I start to see bodies, many human and many nonhuman.
"What is all this? …what happened?" my mind starts to replay what it can remember, there was a bright light… followed by screaming in the distance…then…then…my head suddenly starts pounding as I try to continue to remember forcing me to give up. not able to remember makes me even more afraid than knowing. "This doesn't make any sense…where did all these monsters come from."
I don't know…but lets hurry up and find the others before it's too late. Silently agreeing with Soul I continue looking for my friends.
"Russell…! Thomas…! Nathan…!" my voice echoes in the fog covered emptiness with no reply to return, "Christopher…" with no answer I continue on walking through the death ridden area. There's rubble in the way that somehow creates a dead end and I can't go any further. Wait this…almost seems like a pathway. Like a road you would find in a town… "Soul can you get this out of the way?" within seconds the brick wall is reduced to nothing allowing me passage. The dust like fog is so thick I end up choking a bit on it. As I step through I try to see if I can locate anything. Sunlight begins to peek in through the dust as I make my way further through the cloud. Finally I make it through the thick cloud my eyes sting a bit as they adjust to the light. Looking ahead I try to locate any kind of landmark but find something much worse. The sight is so horrifying I have to cover my mouth to keep from screaming out. In a clearing I can just barely make out a large summoning ring the same as the one back in the fort. Riddled all over the ground is a slaughter. Human bodies mangled and torn lay all over the floor, blood paints the ground and debris all around. Other bodies lay around as well bodies of the monsters that come from Souls world. My head pounds as I start to remember,
…
"Ah!" a bright red light shoots up into the sky blinding all of us. We were out walking around when a high pitched ringing stopped not only us but everyone in town to cover their ears. Soon after the light faded and bloodcurdling screams started to sound off in the distance. People started to panic as the monsters poured out from the light. Soon after everything turned into Chaos and everyone got separated.
"Christopher! Where are you?! Guys!"
…
the images fade back into darkness but it's enough to remind me what happened.
"Oh my god…no…no! this place is…" I turn to see a demolished yet familiar scene; I can imagine all of the buildings and people that would still be here. "Moldor…this is Moldor…that's right we…we docked here. We were here to restock and…and…"
That light was a portal back into that world. How the hell-who the hell would be powerful enough to create a portal that big!
"We all got separated…! Soul the others! We, We have to find them!" tears start to well up in my eyes at the memory of being separated from them in such a state.
Yeah I know…Damn it! I don't like this. what happened here?
"Christopher! Captain Morgan! Eduardooo!"
Shut up idiot! Soul hardly ever yells at me like that,
"But-!"
What if there are still some of those things still ALIVE?! you'll attract them here with all that shouting! I don't know if I'll be able to protect you like usual since we're in this weakened state; that blast that knocked us out was not a normal event! It took a bunch of my power to protect you through that and if I have to protect you against too many using my power it may start affecting you too! …one monster at a time is one thing but I don't know if I can manage any more than that…two would even be pushing it…
"But…the others…" I sniff trying to hold back my tears.
We're going to find them…but you need to keep your wits about you right now. You're going to have to think for yourself right now you can do that much right?
"yeah…" I nod wiping away my tears, "Sorry Soul."
so long as you understand…lets find out where the others are.
It's been a long time since we started searching for the others; the only thing we seem to be able to spot is all of the bodies around us. There're no signs of life anywhere and a cold feeling begins to set in my heart. I try not to think about finding the others dead but the fear just keeps growing. I can't stop the cold feeling of my friends being dead and finding their bodies among the corpses from continuing to creep into my mind. The thought of not being able to see them all ever again makes my body shiver.
Hey stop thinking like that. If there's one thing I've to learn about those guys it's that they have the tenacity of cockroaches.
"But…"
They deal with me on a daily basis…I don't think it's that easy to kill them.
"There's got to be something we can do though right? Hey what about if we go back to the summoning circle? If I touch it we might be able to figure out what caused this."
That's not a good idea…too many of those monsters came out of it at once. If you did that who knows what would happen to you. Besides I don't know how much energy that will take from us. It's better not to risk it.
"What do you think happened Soul?"
honestly…I don't know. None of this is making any sense. No human alive- seer or not- should be able to wield the ability to do this much damage.
There's a low rumble from close by making us stop in me stop in my tracks. I feel the ground vibrate under my feet.
"Soul is it another monster?"
I don't see anything. Soon the shaking stops followed by another low rumble and then everything goes quiet. What ever it was it's gone for now.
"We should…should we make our way to the port? The Sirius might be there."
yeah…that might be a good place to start.
No matter where I go all that I see is death all around. Looking here and there I try to see if I can possibly find someone alive but I hear no one. It's scary to have to step over the corpses that are in the path, not even a whole life time would be enough time to burry everyone here. Suddenly I hear a whine like a cry for help giving me hope that someone may be alive. Soul and I both search high and low for the source but I find it first. The crying is coming from a tiny little puppy. It's fur matted and caked with dirt and blood paws at its dead mother on the ground trying to wake her up. Poor thing…
Slowly I make my way over to the tiny puppy and kneel down a few feet away from it. Noticing me the puppy hides behind its mother scared.
"it's ok…I'm not going to hurt you." I extend a hand out slightly trying to beckon it over. The tiny animal slowly makes its way out from behind its sleeping mother and walks cautiously over to me. Keeping its tail between its legs I continues to whine and cry for help. I notice that it's not using one of its hind legs making me think its hurt. Finally, the puppy reaches me and sniffs my hand. It take a moment trying to decide if I'm friendly or not before it finally stops crying; although its still scared he limps over to me trying to climb onto my lap. Carefully I pick up the tiny creature and cradle it in my arms causing it to whine slightly. Although I can tell it's still somewhat in shock I can feel the little dog relax a bit as I stroke its fur, "It's ok…you're safe now." As if to respond to my words the tiny little dog lays down in my arms and relaxes eventually falling asleep. "I wish I could say that about the others."
What are you going to do with it?
"We can't just leave her here Soul."
you don't exactly have the means to take care of it right now either… How do you even know it's a female anyway?
"Just a guess…I'll figure something out." Standing up I look around to try and see if I can find anything. "Soul can you help me locate the port?" I close my eyes and join my mind with Soul. he floats up as high as he can and looks around; in all directions we can make out the ocean but I can't seem to find the port. Soul zooms in slightly to get a better look; off to our east there's debris and masts sticking out of the ground and floating in the water.
There. I disconnect and start walking again heading for the port. Somehow some of the streets and back allies were able to survive the destruction standing upright. For some strange reason I feel as though I've been here before. So you feel like this place is familiar too.
"I think we came through here to try and escape from something but I can't remember what." Faint sunlight glints off of something on the ground. "What is that?" the puppy suddenly wakes up in my arms and starts to move about, "Do you…want down? your leg is hurt though…" the puppy continues to wriggle in my arms so I decide to put her down. she stays close by as check the shining object on the ground. it's a clean sliver knife. "Wait I've seen this knife before…" I close my eyes as memories start to flood back.
…
"Guys where are you?!" I shout at I try to search for the others in the chaos all around.
Airi the port! Head for the port!
Listening to Soul I try to run for the port. Another creature much like the one from when I was a child tries to attack but Soul is able to kill it by throwing a stone spear from a statue through its neck. I start running again only to have some sort of explosion happen in front of me that stops me from going any further.
"You aren't going anywhere my little puppet!" I turn to see the Royal seer Alainia with an evil look in her eye. She wears a black dress tattered and torn in many places. "Do you like what I've done with the place? Now my children can roam freely in this world now that this was such a success!"
"You…you unleashed all these monsters?! Why?!"
"Call it a test run! Now all that's left is to get rid of the evidence!" she points a silver knife at me, "Now give me your body Airi!" her eyes don't look human what so ever. Red spheres float in the blackness of her eyes. More afraid of her than the monsters at the moment I try to get away but she manages to get a hold of my arm, "Let me become you my little puppet!" an invisible force knocks her back into a wall but she picks herself up as if nothing even happened. This time I'm able to run away with her tailing not to far behind. I come to a set of stairs and try running down them when something takes hold of my hair. "Give yourself over!" she swipes the knife at me but I manage to get my hair in the way rather than anything else and she ends up cutting off the handful in her hand. Stepping backwards I miss a step and fall down the rest of the stairs. I look up to see if she is still coming after me but instead I see her open her mouth and eat the handful of hair. She's shrouded by the shadow created by the sunlight behind her but her body seems to change somehow. She seems smaller than what she was before even though she's still a girl, "I suppose you still being alive will be just as fun. I do hope that you don't take what's going to happen too far. If they let you live after all this I'll be sure to kill you swiftly as a present for your cooperation." With that she drops the knife and makes her way in the opposite direction into the panicking crowd.
"W-what was that all about?"
I don't know but we don't have time to think about it. Get up we need to get to the docks. I pick myself up pushing against the crowd as they run for cover and away from the monsters. The ground suddenly convulses under my feet; looking up the pillar of light that was allowing for the monsters to come into this world has now become a wave of massive energy wiping out everything in its path. It's the last thing I remember before everything goes dark.
…
"She…she's the one that…"
she caused all this…! I knew it…I knew IT! That Damn witch couldn't be trusted! That doctor should have let her be that day!
"This doesn't make any sense…why would she want all of this to happen?"
I don't know and I don't care! We need to find the others to let them know!
"what did she mean by all that though? why did she come after me?"
right now that doesn't matter. We can figure it out later we need to let the others know she's the cause of all this!
the ground suddenly shakes violently under my feet causing me to trip. The ground begins to crack and crumble as it feels like it's sinking. The little dog barks as it races over to me and I pick her up before I start running. The ground crumples under my feet as I run for solid ground but the ground is falling faster than I can run. I find myself toppling into the water along with the tiny dog in my arms. I try to swim up to get air in my lungs but the current the water and falling rocks make only pushes me down farther.
"Soul…! help!" my legs and free arm have no more strength and I start to sink even faster.
I-I'm trying! My strength is fading…
"Someone…help us…anyone…" I can feel the tiny little dog giving up as well as my consciousness begins to fade. Before losing to the darkness completely I feel someone grab ahold of my arm pulling me up.
…
I wake up floating in the air looking down at myself my eyes closed. There's a noise from the back of the room and I turn to see Christopher putting things away. As he turns it looks as though there's a pensive yet serious look on his face. He looks back at my sleeping self before sighing. Why is he looking like that…? What happened? Where am I how did I end up in this room?
Relax Airi…we're back on the Sirius.
"Soul?"
They got to us in time…saw you fall into the ocean with the rest of what was left of Moldor.
"Moldor…is gone?"
…yeah.
"What about the dog?" Soul floats over to a corner of the room where in a makeshift bed the little puppy I found still remains asleep.
Doc said she should be fine with some rest and food.
Thank goodness…
"I'll be back Soul; keep an eye on Airi." Christopher says as if he's still lost in his thoughts.
"What's up with him?"
no idea…ever since they brought you back everyone's been on edge.
"What do you mean?"
they didn't say anything after making sure you were alive but they kept exchanging weird looks with each other, like they knew something we didn't.
"Do you think it's about Moldor; do they know about Alainia?"
I don't think so. My instincts tell me it was something about you.
"Me?"
I was getting ready to eavesdrop on the meeting they're getting ready to have. The others are gathering in the meeting room right now, want to listen?
"It's not right…"
if they know something then we should find out what it is.
"But…"
if you don't want to you can stay here.
"N-no…if they know something about this whole thing then…let's go." With that Soul makes his way out of the infirmary and outside. There we find Nathan and Thomas walking on the deck heading for the meeting room. Thunder rumbles above our heads signaling a storm coming.
"Should we be concerned about this storm at all?" Thomas asks.
"Eduardo said it's not that big of a storm; we should be fine along the route we're on. let's go; the others are already waiting." Soul follows them into the room. There everyone waits for the door to be closed. There's a tense and serious atmosphere that seems to fill the room. Captain looks over at Christopher.
"How is she?"
"Still out; I don't know if Soul is there or not though."
"He didn't alert us when we fished Airi out either…" Nathan says.
"Is it possible that he's…you know…gone?"
"I don't think so Thomas; Airi is still alive. it could just be that he's a sleep just like her." Christopher suggests.
"Why didn't you?"
Because they were acting weird; I didn't like the vibe they were giving off. I was too weak at the time to do much of anything to protect you. I thought that they wouldn't have done much of anything if they thought I wasn't there. I may trust them but your safety comes first.
"I still can't believe it the whole island is just GONE! How did that even happen?!" Russell shouts.
"I don't know we'll have to ask her when she wakes up."
"Ask me? I don't understand. Ask me what?"
I don't know…
"There's no doubt about what we saw though." Morgan continues "What doesn't make sense to me is why Moldor. What did she have against it?" do they already know about Alainia? But something isn't adding up.
"So what do we do with her?" Nathan asks, "Are we just going to let her go?"
"No. we can't let her go; she has to take responsibility for what she did and as the captain I have to make sure that she's properly taken care of."
"Soul do they have some one else they think did it on the ship somewhere?"
No I didn't see anyone else; just them and us.
"So then…who are they talking about?"
"Christopher I'm just going to ask one more time…there were other survivors that said they saw her conjuring something at the circle before everything was destroyed. You said you saw her there and you talked to her before she activated the explosion. Are you sure it was her?" the room fills with silence; Christopher knits his eyebrows together grimacing. The words that come out of his mouth nearly cause my heart to stop.
"Yes…it was Airi. She told me that she had been planning for all of the destruction of Moldor or something like that…that everything was just an act, that she and Soul had been waiting to take vengeance on everyone." What…?! No…that's impossible. I was being chased by Alainia! Soul and I we would never do anything like that! This whole time…don't tell me they were talking about me!
Now it all makes sense…why Alainia was after you and everything. She wanted you to take the blame for it. but this…they should know better…
"But…Miss Airi was always so quiet and calm…she never even seemed like she would do something like this. she said she doesn't have any powers of her own it's all Soul really right?"
"She didn't know about her ability to be able to see the memories and sense those monsters…there's no telling what kind of power she actually has thanks to Soul. for all we know Thomas she could have just been acting the entire time." Eduardo says.
"But I didn't do it! it was Alainia! She must have shape shifted to make herself look like me!" I try to shout but they can't hear me.
"So Captain what do we do with her?"
"…there are other Governments that had alliances with Moldor…the closest one is Heral Island." Captain points to a location on the map, "By now everyone will have heard what happened. We'll turn her in there."
"we'll have to keep it secret from her when she wakes up…the moment she and Soul find out he's going to do everything he can to protect her." Christopher says.
"Right…we'll need to make sure she doesn't find out."
You…INSECTS!
"Soul No!" his anger gets the better of him and a glass on the table shatters into pieces. They all back away from the table.
"Was that…"
"Soul…oh no Airi…!" as I catch a glimpse of them coming out of the meeting room I disconnect my mind from Soul and wake up in the room.
"I got to get out of here Ah?!" the ship suddenly jerks violently causing the room to sway.
Get up hurry! They're coming! we somehow made our way into the Bloody triangle we can use that as a distraction! I pick my self up and wobble over to the door. Soul blasts it off it's hinges allowing the torrent of rain and wind into the room. Outside the deck is barely visible as I run outside; instantly I'm soaked from the rain. Lightning cracks reaching the ocean and sending loud thunder erupting through the sky. A giant wave crashes into the Sirius causing it to sway. The motion causes me to trip near the mast and I have to take a minute to pick myself up.
"Airi!" I turn to see all of them staring at me; all of them have their weapons out and even Eduardo has hi gun pointed at me.
"It wasn't me!" is the first thing that I let come out of my mouth.
"there were plenty of people saying they saw a girl fitting your description who activated the summoning ring!" we have to shout over the wind of the storm.
"It wasn't me! Soul and I would never do anything like that! It was Alainia; she somehow shape shifted to look like me!"
"Airi No seer has that type of power! Stop lying even I saw you at the summoning ring!"
"It wasn't me Christopher; I'm telling you the truth!"
"What could she possibly want or gain from destroying Moldor!?"
"She said something about a test run; I don't know. But why would I want to destroy Moldor! I've never even been there before!"
"She was the Royal Seer Airi she was even among the survivors that saw you!"
"I don't have that kind of power; Soul doesn't either! We wouldn't be able to open a portal or even cause that destruction, please believe me it wasn't me!"
"ENOUGH!" Captain shouts at me, "None of us are going to believe you Airi!" in their eyes I see the same look as the villages that were after me when I was a child. In one last attempt I look over at Christopher,
"You told me that if I ever needed help you would do what you could to help me…I'm begging you Christopher…Please help me…believe me please! It wasn't me…!" our eyes remained locked for a long time before he looks away,
"I'm sorry Airi but I don't believe you. I can't not after what I saw!" my heart hurts so much it feels as though I can't breathe. my body starts to shake and not from the rain and wind. They aren't going to believe me…I thought they were different…they…they tricked me! I thought I could…could trust them…nothing I do…nothing I say is ever going to change their minds. My tears begin to mix with the rain. All those words…all those happy times were just a ruse…if I had known it would hurt this much…I never would have trusted anyone…!
Something wells up with in me; my chest hurts and I can't stop the weak feeling in my knees. I can barely breathe as something seems to build up within me. but before I can release whatever it is the ship rocks again causing all of us to fall over. Giant tentacles come over the side of the Ship. They all seem to forget about me for the time being as I continue to sit on the ground.
Jump! What? Jump over the edge! This is our only chance! I pick myself up and start climbing over the edge. I should have listened to Soul from the start! None of this would be happening if I had! Christopher slides on his side knocking into the side next to me. he shakes of the impact he looks up at me who's most likely glaring at him. I say nothing as tears pour down my face before leaping off and into the churning violent water.
…
Small parts of my consciousness start to fade back in to reality. My eyelids feel heavy I feel as though I can't even open them. I can just make out someone calling my name and a presence as if someone is watching over me. I open my eyes and find light hiding someone above me.
"Hey you finally woke up." I slowly sit up and find myself back on the Sirius in the room that I share with Christopher look over at the person. Christopher smiles at me kindly like he always does and reaches over to pet my head. The warm gesture makes me smile too, "You looked like you were dreaming about something."
"It was nothing just a bad dream." I answer.
"Bad dream…the monsters again?" he sits on the bed next to me,
"…I don't remember…but…"
"But what?"
"for some reason I feel afraid of friendship…I feel as though I can't trust people all of a sudden…"
"Airi…"
"All I remember is betrayal, a tightness in my chest…pain…anguish…resentment…everything I had feared about people…it felt like it came true…" there's a long silence as I stare at the floor. His hand on my head suddenly pulls me close into his chest as he hugs me tightly. Christopher's kindness always, being in his arms like this always made me feel safe…his warmth always seems to calm me down no matter what troubles me…he was the first to accept everything about me including Soul…
"Airi no matter what happens you can always trust me."
that's right…I can trust him…
"Even if that happens…I'll always be on your side."
You're on my side…right?
"I'm sorry Airi But I don't believe you! I saw you there!"
but it wasn't me! Suddenly I find myself in the ruins of Moldor; a shadow looms over me and I turn. Christopher who was once held a kind look in his eyes stares down at me with hatred and resentment.
"You freak…look what you did…"
"It wasn't me!"
"You destroyed Moldor and everyone in the process…" this time I hear Captains voice and out of the fog he suddenly fades in, "How could you…and here I thought you were actually human."
"You're a monster Airi!" I turn again and look to Thomas looking at me now.
"You really had us fooled…looks like you played us for idiots. That was our mistake." Eduardo suddenly says from my other side.
"You were going to destroy us too when you got the chance weren't you?!" Russell shouts at me!"
"No! I wouldn't!" I squeeze my eyes shut at their words,
"Face it…no matter how human you try to act you're really nothing more than a freak a monster…" finally Nathan is the last to appear and I find myself surrounded by them.
"I'm…I'm not a monster…! Please…I…I didn't mean for any of this to happen…! But this wasn't my fault! I didn't destroy anything…!"
"You killed all the people in your village." Morgan says coldly,
"you killed that boy who played tricks on you too!" Thomas is next.
"You even scared you own uncle…"
"You killed that man back at the tea shop too…"
"Face it every where you go a bloody path follows you."
"No…! No it's not true! Please…you guys are…you're supposed to be my friends right? Please I'm bedding you… believe me…I'm not a monster…!" I look up at Christopher, begging pleading with him to turn back to normal.
"You could just die for all I care…" black hands suddenly come up from the ground grabbing a hold of me and start to drag me under ground. I struggle and fight as best I can but it's no use.
"No, please! It wasn't me! I'm begging you! Please someone, Soul! SOUL Save me! please help me anyone please SOUL, SOUL Help me! I don't want to die! SAVE ME PLEASE! SOOOOOOUUUULLLLL!"
…
"SOUL!" my senses hit me like a ton of bricks as I snap out of my dream. I feel rain pouring sown on my body white puffs of air come from my mouth and I fid myself shivering. My whole body aches from being tossed and turned in the deadly currents of the Bloody Triangle. My clothes are torn and in rags and even my shoes are gone leaving torn and ragged stockings. My body heaves ad I take in a few gulps of air and tears fall down my face mixing with the rain.
Airi…!
"Soul…I…" the wind blows and thunder sounds in the distance. "It wasn't…it wasn't a dream…was it Soul…everything that…that happened…it was real…wasn't it?"
…yes… for some reason even Soul sounds pained at this thought. His pain coupled with my sorrow and anguish brings on a new set of tears that fall from my eyes. I don't even try to hold back my sobs as I remember everything up until now all the so called good and the bad. I remember their smiling faces, their words, their gestures. I remember how I first came aboard the ship how I stupidly trusted them so easily. I remember telling Christopher everything about Soul that night before telling them all. I remember all the happiness I supposedly had while on that ship. I remember listening in on their conversation not too long ago, the looks on their faces as they too rejected and hated me like everyone else in this world that I've come across. I remember their words…his words as he looked at me with scorn. Everything is so painful to remember it's as if someone has taken a cold dagger and plunged it into my heart. I had everything I could ever ask for friends, family, a home…happiness and now it's all been taken from me. taken from me…? it was never even their to begin with… they were just like everyone else! It was all a lie and I let myself believe it to the bitter end. I never should have trusted them…I should have kept my distance from them from the start. I should have just gotten off at the first port they docked at…anything would have been smarter than staying with them…
"I…I'm so sorry Soul…" I say to him through a sob. "If…if I had just listened to you…you told me not to trust them…you warned me…and I…I didn't listen to you…! We wouldn't be here if it wasn't for me…" there's a long silence from him but for some reason I feel something unknown mixed in with his rage. I feel a cold sensation that doesn't come from the rain or wind but from deep with in Soul's heart.
It's not your fault… his voice sounds so strained like he's trying to hold back some form of tears himself, you weren't the only one who believed them… I trusted them myself…there was part of me back there that was hoping they were…talking about someone else…but I knew better… but I still…there was a part of me that wanted to believe that…they were different…! We were both fooled…
not only did they have the whole pulled over my eyes but they even managed to trick Soul as well; even now I can feel his pain just as he can feel mine. I go to cry some more when I feel something dangling from my neck. When I look down at it the necklace that Christopher bought me still somehow hangs from my neck. The memory of that day and his smile. It's like a slap to the face as it looks at me from the palm of my hand as if to taunt me and remind me of everything. I rip it from my neck and stand to throw it as hard as I can. My arm feels as though it will rip from the joint when I release the trinket and send it to the abyss of the ocean in front of me. a pain ridden scream tares from inside of me as I open my mouth and lightning cracks as if to symbolize my pain itself at the same time. Soul let's loose his rage on the ground and water around me as he too allows himself to let go of his pain. It feels like an eternity has past when we finished and I collapse to my hands and knees weeping still.
"Never again…"
never again. I won't allow anyone to hurt you so much anymore Airi…!
"What do we do now?"
I say we find out where this Alainia went and pay her a visit.
"And if we can't find her? then what?"
Then we find a way to make ourselves disappear.
I stand wiping my tears; it almost feels as if something has dies within me as I stare out at the sea. Before I turn to leave I could have sworn I saw a ship out there fighting against the current.
