So here I sat, listening to Eric and Godric catch up. I really was tired and for a good portion of their conversation I sat next to Godric and was pretty well behaved but I was quickly becoming bored and before I knew it my eyes were closing against my will. I fought against it but I ended up falling asleep against Godric's shoulder.
Alexa's POV.
It was troubling watching Godric and Crystal. She depended on him and he seemed to genuinely care for her but she was to young and he was far more experienced in life than she was. I feared what would come of this should she fall to fast. Normally vampires would discipline their humans for falling asleep without permission in the presence of another vampire but Godric had merely chuckled and moved his arm around her as he leaned back adjusting them both so Crystal was more comfortable.
Isabel was enjoying this far more than she should be. I swear she was internally planning a wedding or my daughters turning... Seemed far to excited. Eric had raised a eyebrow questionly at his maker who had merely shrugged it off with a small smile.
"I can see she gets away with a lot." Eric commented after a moment of silence.
"She has been through Hell. Crystal was not born blind, she had protected her Mother. Fainted of blood loss and a she-wolf took advanage. She protected a vampire, strived to protect the whole nest. I had to hide her gun." Godric grinned at that last part causing Eric to chuckle a bit.
"Interesting."
"Treat her well Eric." I watched as Eric nodded and stood.
"I am going to go check in at the Hotel. I will be here first thing tomorrow night. Rest well Father." I watched as he sped off.
"You've been observing intently Alexa, what is on your mind?"
"Your affections towards my daughter... she is young. Easily hurt at this age, I know you won't intentionally hurt her... I don't know what happened while she was gone but something definitely changed my little girl. Her center of gravity could very easily become you and when that happens that independent child is going to struggle to come to terms with her life now. We don't let her sleep on her own, one of us is almost always with her... I guess I had a lot more on my mind then I thought."
He considered my words carefully before he spoke. "She fought for her life Alexa, for yours. She has paid the price and has earned the respect of many vampires. If she wants independance I will do my best to allow it but her life is in danger as long as that wolf still roams free, there has been no sign of a body or his pack. This is only a small reason of why I keep your daughter close."
"Then why?"
"In a small amount of time she became important to me." Godric looked down when Crystal smacked his leg to get his attention.
Crystal's POV.
"Why do you both insist on having a somewhat loud conversation?"
"You do not need to be sleeping right now anyways."
"I'm starting to believe you just enjoy annoying me." I remarked to Godric's words as my Mother shook her head and stood up.
"Time to eat, what do you want tonight?" Mom asked me. I sighed and sat up.
"Actually I'm not hungry." My words had the exact effect I thought it would.
"Crystal you need to eat, don't worry about the smell." My mother remarked with a hint of no tolerance in her voice.
"It's not the smell, Stan's reaction to human food is hilarious. I'm just not hungry." My mom sighed, tapping her heel against the floor and I'm fairly sure she was looking at Godric expectantly. "...I will eat when I'm hungry or I will make your lives a living hell. Ever seen a blind girl try to cook?" Godric's hold tightened around my shoulders at my words.
"You are to much like your father." Mom said as she stormed off.
"Mom. My stubborness comes from your side of the family!" She stopped walking and Godric chuckled. Glaring my way probably.
Victory.
Wish I could see it...
