Parallel Heart Chapter 11
As the battle continues for Rose against the arcanine, Mega and Beauty were watching from the side-lines, "I hope Rose can beat him," Beauty says in worry.
"You just told me to have faith in her!" Mega yells from behind her.
"Well a girl can't help but worry, now can she?" The eevee asks him.
The battle was getting tense for the rabbit girl to handle as she tries to attack, "Dizzy Punch," she aims for him with her ears once more.
"Flamethrower," fire bursts through his mouth as he readies to unleash it, but before he could, "Quick Attack," Rose suddenly gains the speed she needs to punch him with her ears, and she goes underneath him and gives him an uppercut to his chin.
The fire couldn't be released because of the force his mouth being closed, therefore it causes an explosion of fire that engulfs him. Rose jumps out of range from the fire engulfing explosion. After performing a backflip in attempt to impress Mega, she then ready her stance once more, she puts her fists up and bounces between feet at a quick pace, just in case he's still conscious.
When all the fire disappears... he was still standing, but some of his sharp teeth were on the ground around him. "I'm going to kill you for that," he wasn't just saying that, he means it with a passion of blood lust.
Mega knows the situation Rose is in now, he experienced this before, "Beauty, get in the battle NOW!" He yells at her.
She turns to him in concern, "why?"
"Trust me on this; Rose needs your help more than ever now," he's actually begging at this point, "if you don't go... I'll never have it in my heart to forgive you!"
Beauty knows he's being serious about this, and the way he's begging must means it serious, "Okay... I'll go, then." With that, she stands up and runs up to Rose to battle alongside her.
Rose hears footsteps behind her and knows who exactly it is, "I thought I told you to stay with Mega, Beauty," she yells, not looking back.
"Meggy told me if I don't fight alongside with you on this he'll never forgive me." All Rose sighs in response; of course Mega doesn't have faith in her.
"Meggy was practically begging for me to fight with you at this point of the battle," Beauty says as though reading her mind, "I think he knows more than anyone that this arcanine is crazy strong." Beauty gets ready to fight, as well as Rose beside her.
"Girls, the way arcanine is now is like how Fast Star was when he made it rain," Mega yells, explaining to them why he begged Beauty to join the battle.
The two just looks at each other and realized what they got themselves into... their fighting a pokemon that's just as deranged as Fast Star himself, the two didn't hesitate to attack this time.
"Hidden Power," "Shadow Ball," Rose surround herself with energy orbs, while Beauty channels a ball of dark aura from her mouth, they aim their attack at the arcanine and unleash their powerful attacks in unison at him.
"Substitute," another acarnine morphs from his body and takes the attack for him. The impact against the copy-arcanine has to take causes an explosion. "Flamethrower," a burst stream of fire came from the puff of smoke goes towards them. The two reacts quickly and jump in opposite directions to dodge the sudden attack.
"Extremespeed," suddenly from behind Rose, the arcanine was going for another killing attack, "Fire Fang," aiming for her neck with his remaining fiery fangs.
"Pound," her immediate reaction takes control and attempts to slam her paw against the predator pokemon.
"Too late," the arcanine smiles and disappear into a puff of smoke before she could make contact with him, "wha-" she gets interrupted from a stream of fire at the side of her face.
Beauty sees this and gets mad over her friend being hurt like that, "Tackle," she bolts over to the arcanine and slams her body against him, causing him to stop his attack at Rose and focus on the eevee.
Mega sees all of this happening and wishes he could help, but his body is too heavy to even get up, "I need to help them," he says to himself as he struggles to get back up. He flops back to the ground, and then he notices a leppa berry across the trees and begins to crawl towards it.
"Sand-Attack," Beauty slaps some dirt from the ground towards the arcanine's eyes, it works and causes him to go blind for a moment. They take advantage of this opportunity, "Dizzy Punch," Rose punches with her ears against him repeatedly underneath his chin. "Tackle," Beauty finishes the attacking combo by slamming her body against him, making the arcanine to fly across the field towards where Mega once was.
They noticed earlier he's dragging himself somewhere, but they didn't have any time to question of where he's going, they figure he's trying to get out of the way or something.
"We still have to be careful," Beauty focusing back on the battle, "that last attack wasn't big enough to beat him."
As if on cue, The arcanine gets back up, even angrier than before, "Overheat," massive amount of flames engulfs his entire body as he channels it to his mouth and aims for the two pokemon.
Beauty gets in front of Rose and gets ready for the attack, "Protect!" She surrounds herself in a green wall of energy to protect herself from the devastating attack. She has to protect Rose; she owes her life for what the buneary has done for her throughout the entire time they've known each other.
Suddenly, arcanine collapse to the floor, causing his attack to be canceled out in the process, "what's going on?" The canine pokemon asks, trying to get back up, "why can't I get up?"
Laughter can be heard from a certain pikachu, "it seems you've reached your limit, arcanine," Mega says from the side-line, making everyone look at him, "you've exhausted yourself, so Rose and Beauty wins the match."
Rose and Beauty look at each other and jump for joy, "we won, we won, we won," they shout in unison.
This makes Mega relax, but the energy berry came to his reach, so he decides to grab it and eat the entire thing in one bite. The spicy taste dances in his mouth, he likes it, he tries to push himself up with his front paws and succeeds.
He was struggling at first due to the injuries, but he manages to stand up on his hind legs, "let's finish him off now," he says, walking up to them. The girls were looking at him confused, "you two haven't beaten him yet... you need to send him flying across the forest."
"Why do we need to?" Beauty asks.
"If he picks up our scent, we need to send him flying before he memorizes it... or he'll try to hunt us again, and invade our home when we're vulnerable."
The two sees what he's saying... it's too risky to NOT to send the arcanine flying, "I'll help," he says with a smile, the three look at the arcanine and ready their attack, "Hidden Power!" "Shadow Ball!" "Thunderbolt!" Rose unleashes a large amount of energy from around her; Beauty unleashes a dark aura ball from her mouth, and Mega unleashses a small amount of electricity from his body, all targetting the arcanine.
The arcanine sees the attacks coming at him; he couldn't do anything but accept his defeat. The three attacks have a major impact on the arcanine when it hits, he was in massive amount of pain and he's screaming from it. A huge explosion occurs, and the arcanine was sent flying over the forest, "I will return for your meat, Mega," he screams at the top of his lungs before he reaches over the clouds, causing him to sparkle like a star for a moment.
Mega hears the threat and droops, "he always says that," he says to himself before he gets a tackle hug from both girls on his sides.
"I'm glad you're ok, Meggy," Beauty says in tears.
"Yeah, me too," Rose cries out as well.
Mega couldn't help but blush because they were rubbing their cheeks against his red cheeks, "ummm... g-girls," he stutters, "I can barely stand," they ignore his complaints as they fell down to the ground, Mega on his back, Rose and Beauty on their sides.
They continue to rub their cheeks against his; Mega couldn't help but sigh considering he can't really do anything right now. The pikachu's thoughts change when he looks at the sky, there's a cloud that was strangely shaped like a flower. That cloud reminds him of the first night he was at the Northern; he closes his eyes to remember that hopeful night...
"Man, the pokemon here know how to bite," Mega complains rubbing the shoulder where he was bit, blood was dripping from it as he quickly looks around, "I better get stronger if I want to survive." It was going to be night time soon, and he needs to find a safe place to sleep before the noctowls tries to hunt for him as well.
He then notices a cave that's small enough for him, and ONLY him. "Perfect," he makes a mad-dash for it, "Psychic," he was suddenly being lifted by an unknown force around him, "good... dinner is served for me," he hears laughter, then growling afterwards.
"No fair, we want dinner as well," he hears other predator birds complain, "well too bad, I found him first."
"I don't want to be anyone's dinner," Mega shouts.
"Too bad, you have no choice," the noctowl holding says.
"Oh really? Thundershock," Mega unleashes a bolt of electricity from his body towards the owl pokemon holding him; the noctowl didn't see it coming and was hit in the process. She screams in agony, causing her mental hold on the pikachu to let go.
Mega takes this opportunity, "Thundershock," and unleashes another volt of electricity from his body, but this time, all around him. The other bird pokemon around him suffers a surge of the powerful attack each.
After finishing the attack, Mega decides to make a run for it towards the cave, he dashes through rocks, trees, and other predator pokemon to get to that spot. When he finally reach the spot at last, he looks up the night sky and notices the moon was at its highest point.
"What a beautiful view," he says to himself, and then notices there was a cloud getting in the way... it was in shape of a flower, "I wish she could see this." He looks back to where he dashed from, but he couldn't because there were a lot of predators in his way.
"Heh, but now's not the time to daze at pretty things," he says to himself, with that, he dashes towards the predators, "Thunder Punch!" And raises his electric charged fist at a mightyena's face...
When Mega opens his eyes from his memories, he sees Rose and Beauty in front of him. "Were you asleep?" Rose asks him, he looks pass her and notices that the flower-shaped cloud is still there.
"No... just that cloud reminds me of something," he points to the cloud he was seeing, making the two look at it as well.
"Wow! It's shape like a flower," Rose says with sparkles in her eyes and paws underneath her chin, "makes me want to pick it," she puts her paws up to reach for it.
Beauty was watching this with a sigh and shake of her head, "she's in flower-mode again," she said loudly. Mega just looks at her, "is she always like this when it comes to flowers?" He asks, "yup... I don't know why, but she absolutely loves flowers," the eevee answers, it does seem odd for Mega as well.
"Must you always be like this when there are flowers," he says subconsciously rather to himself than the flower-dazing buneary.
Rose just froze mid-point of her 'flower-mode'... what did Mega just said? He said it in a manner she'll always keep in her heart... is it possible that he really is- "Is something wrong, Rose?" Beauty asks her, interrupting her thought in the process.
The bunny girl immediately recovers to answer the question, "n-nothing," thinking of an excuse to get out of this situation, "I'm still hurt from that battle, so I think going back home is the best thing to do."
"She's right, I'm tired from all this," Mega says, not knowing he's helping Rose.
Beauty sighs, "Okay... Meggy, can you walk now?" Mega pushes himself to stand up, "good," and with that, they walk home together.
"Diggy, Diggy, Diggy!"
"WARNING! WARNING! EXPERIMENT 421 AND 418 ARE ESCAPING! IMMEDIATE CAPTURE! EXPERIMENT 421 AND 418 ARE ESCAPING! IMMEDIATE CAPT-" One of the speakers was immediately destroyed, "shut up," the shadow figure says, Midori behind him, and Diggy in front.
"I'm sure the exit is right here," Diggy says pointing at the door up ahead, "Mud Bomb!" He stops for a moment to stomp on the ground, creating a ball-like wave of mud towards the door. When it's about to hit the door, it opens, revealing three humans. They see the attack coming right at them and try to close the door, but they weren't fast enough and ended up exploding along with part of the door they tried to close.
"Good work... I see you have made excellent progress after all," the shadow figure compliments Diggy, causing him to blush in embarrassment, "it was nothing," he replies while they continue to run.
"The way out of here is right there," Diggy points at a tunnel he dug up earlier. "Cool, now let's get outta here," Midori and Diggy managed to get inside the tunnel.
But before the shadow figure could, he looks back for a moment, "I'll be back for you guys... I promise," he then jumps down the tunnel as well.
