Fuyumi POV

It's been a few weeks and Momiji and I have been doing great. After a while we stopped sneaking around so much around school because it's not SO suspicious for "friends" to hang out together. Valentine's Day was approaching soon and I was getting excited, for once I'd be able to give chocolate to someone besides Ruey, Hana, and Uo.

"Can I come over today?" Momiji asked during lunch. He's ask this a few times a week and I always said yes. Except today.

"Um, no actually, I'm busy today." I said keeping my eyes on my bento as I continued eating. He blinked but that beautiful smile never left his lips.

"Oh? With what? Can I help?" He asked excitedly and I shook my head.

"Nope, it's something I have to do myself." I say smiling mysteriously and he pouted.

"Alright I guess." He said and I kissed his cheek.

"Maybe some other day?" I offered smiling and he nodded.

"Sure." After school I left in a hurry and only sent a small wave Momiji's way before he could ask if he could walk me home. I went into the super market with the money I saved up and went right to the sweets' isle. A while later, I was walking back from the store with my arms full of what I'll need. I've been making homemade chocolate ever since I was allowed to use the stove. I went into my apartment and right into the kitchen. Suteki hopped inside as I was putting on my apron. I handed her a piece of fresh lettuce and she munched on it while staring at me.

"It's almost Valentine's Day." I said smiling and she only tilted her head. "It's a day where you give someone special sweets." I said and she only blinked. I smiled and petted her ears. "Sometimes I honestly think you can understand me." I said grinning before washing my hands and pulling out what I'd need.

Once I was done cooking everything and had the chocolate in a pastry bag, I started putting it in molds. Let's see, for Ruey I'll make hearts, for Hana some balls, and for Uo some plain squares. For Momiji... I blushed looking at the cute molds I bought. They were little bunnies. I smiled and filled the molds halfway.

"Sissy likes strawberries, so I'll put little chunks in hers." I muttered more to myself than to Suteki. "Hana likes caramel and Uo likes Nutella." I said smiling as I filled the rest of the chocolate up and turned to Momiji's. "Well, Momiji likes sweets so I'll put some marshmallow in his." I smiled and blissfully finished. I sighed and put them in the fridge. Tomorrow I'll make the little bags and they should be ready to give by the day after tomorrow. Wait... Should I make some for Shigure Yuki and Kyo? They ARE taking care of Ruey after all... I bit my lip. And what about Haru?! Oh man! I grabbed my keys and jacket as I ran out of my apartment and back to the super market.

~The Next Day~

I sat with my head on my desk. I was up all night yesterday finishing the chocolates because I had to wait for the first batch to cool so I could reuse the molds. I put my book in front of my head and closed my eyes. Maybe sensei won't notice?...

I jumped as a hand slapped down on my desk. I quickly looked up and saw an annoyed sensei. I sheepishly smiled.

"Had a late night I see?" She asked raising an eyebrow. I nodded.

"Yeah, I was um, studying for that test next week." I said with an innocent smile.

"Well, I prefer my pupils to be awake so I'll expect you to keep your head up during my lesson that will HELP you with next week's test." She said more as a warning and I nodded.

"Of course." I replied as chipper as ever.

"Good." She nodded and went back to the front of the class. I sighed as the grin slipped off my face. I'm so sleepy!

By lunch time I was nodding off and stretched my arms up with a yawn as the bell rang. I grabbed my bento and made my way to the roof as usual. I sat down where we usually sit and yawned. Momiji joined me a few minutes later.

"You look tired." Momiji pointed out as he teasingly poked my cheek. I rolled my eyes.

"I didn't notice." I said sarcastically with a small smile and began to eat. When I finished with my lunch, I stood up as I stretched my arms up and yawned.

"Can I come over today?" Momiji asked smiling and I shook my head.

"Nope, I'll be busy again today." I said turning to look at him. He pouted and I smiled as I held his face in my hands and pressed my lips against his for a few seconds. He kissed me back and I smiled as I pulled away. "I think I'll be free tomorrow." I said and he smiled.

"Good." He said smiling and I pecked his cheek.

"Let's go back to class." I said and held his hand until the door. We went our separate ways and pretended that our lunch date never happened so the fangirls wouldn't attack me, they've been kind of on-edge lately. I wonder why?

~Later~

Right when the bell rang I picked up my things and ran out of school. I went right to the store and picked out what I'd need for the bags. As I was walking out of the store I tripped on the door frame and strong arms reached out to grab my shoulders. I looked up and saw a head of black and white hair.

"Oh hi Haru, thanks." I said straightening myself up and brushing off my arms.

"No problem, what're you up to?" He asked tilting his head.

"Just a bit of shopping." I said smiling.

"Oh, let me help you." He said grabbing my bags and I pursed my lips.

"It's alright. Really, you don't have to." I said and he gave me a small smile. He leaned in close to my face and I stared into his eyes.

"I don't mind." He said and we began walking towards my house. I sighed and walked next to him.

"So what're you up to all the way out here?" I asked and he shrugged.

"I was looking for Shigure's house." He said and I blinked.

"Well, it's no where near here." I said and he gave a small sigh.

"I'll find it eventually." He said with confidence and I gave a small laugh.

"Of course." I agreed and we started on my street.

"What are you doing? You seem pretty busy lately." He said and I looked away.

"Nothing much." I tried to say casually. He raised an eyebrow.

"Oh really?" He asked and I nodded.

"Just a bit of shopping lately." I said and stopped in front of my building.

"Well, Momiji's getting pretty anxious." He said and I looked up at him.

"What do you mean?" I asked tilting my head. He leaned in close and whispered in my ear.

"He's already self conscious because of the curse, you avoiding him is putting him on edge." He said and my eyes slightly widened.

"Oh, I had no idea." I said and he straightened up and handed me my bags.

"Well, watch out for that. I'll be going now." He said and I nodded.

"I will. Thanks Haru." I said and he waved as he walked away. I sighed and went into my apartment. I quickly worked on finishing up the little bags and put the chocolates in them. I smiled and put them in the fridge, I should be able to give them out tomorrow. I stretched my arms up and yawned. Suteki hopped towards me and I leaned down to pick her up. "I think I'll go ahead and take a nap to catch up on some sleep." I said she snuggled against me. I laid down under the covers and closed my eyes.

Momiji POV

I smiled as I sat in the pet shop with bunnies in my arms. They were all new and snuggled up to me. I petted them all and they were delighted to have so much attention. Tomorrow's Valentine's Day, I wonder what I should get Fumie? It's my first Valentine's Day where I can give someone chocolate in a romantic way. Hmm, maybe some flowers? I'll figure something out later. I looked at the window and froze at what I saw. It was Fumie and Haru. What are they doing? Most of the reason I'm here is because Fumie said she'd be busy today and I can't come over... But there she is, walking and smiling with Haru...

What's going on?

Lately Fumie's been kind of distant and not herself. She says she's busy and seems to be lost in thought more than usual lately. I bit my lip as thoughts I shouldn't have wondered into my head. Has she grown tired of me? Is she frustrated because I can't hug her? Am I too childish for her? I mean, I know I look younger than I actually am, so is she looking for someone more masculine looking? Is that why she's with Haru?! I sprang up and followed them ignoring the calls of the shop owner. I walked stealthily towards Fumie's apartment building and made sure I wouldn't be seen. By the time I made it there they were already standing at the front. I hid behind a big car, they shouldn't be able to see me from here. I peeked over the side and saw Haru lean in close to Fumie. Her eyes slightly widened and he handed her her bags as he straightened up. He left and she waved at him. She sighed like something was weighing her down mentally. I pursed my lips and waited until she was inside to move away from my hiding place. A small sense of betrayal sent a pang through my chest. I looked down when I felt something twitch and realized I still had one of the bunnies in my arms. Oh, that's probably why the shopkeeper yelled after me. I made my way back to the pet shop and put the bunny back. I grabbed my bag and made my way home. My hands were balled up in the pockets of my pants as I walked lost in thought through the now empty streets.
