KH Birth by Sleep: Harumi's Quest
Chapter 11: A Date?
Harumi travelled to Disney Town where she had to defeat the Unversed. She also got voted and won the Millions Dreams Award with Ventus and Terra. She accepted the prize which was a Royalberry Ice Cream which tasted so delicious.
She went to another world and entered this kind of coliseum. She walked down the steps and stopped as she was greeted with the Unversed. She summoned her Keyblade and then a Satyr jumped in front of her showing off his moves.
"Stand back sweetcheeks. I'll take care of this." He winked at her and she gulped with disgust.
"Ugh…" She whispered. The Satyr turned to the Unversed and gulped. Then he ran off whilst yelling.
"Herc, they're all yours!" Harumi shook her head; he's such a coward. A skinny boy dress in white with ginger hair and blue eyes ran in and stood next to her. The red haired teen looked at him; he had so much determination.
They fought the Unversed and conquered in the end.
"Oy! Those wackos almost made gyros outta me." The Satyr said as he walked into the courtyard again.
"Well, maybe if you weren't trying to show off…" Herc trailed off and Harumi smiled.
"Who asked you, kid? You'll understand when you're older." The half goat half human replied.
"And stronger…Strong enough to be a hero." Harumi turned to him.
"You believe that being strong is the same as being a hero." She asked.
"Sure…mostly. Look at how strong Terra is and he's champion." The blue eyed girl blinked and gasped.
"Terra was here?" She asked.
"So, sugarcakes…You got any plans later?" The Satyr asked. She turned to him with a glare; what a flirt! "You know I trained a few heroes in my time. Maybe I could a little poetry."
"You've seen Terra?" She asked.
"Of course I do. He's the local hero everybody is going gaga for." Harumi blushed at this; who wouldn't? "Oh now I get it, you're one of his fans. Everywhere I go, it's Terra-this, Terra-that, more like Terra-bull." She giggled at this.
"I'm kind of a fan. He's going to be my husband soon." The Satyr's jaw dropped to the ground and her smile dropped. "But I just want to look for him right now."
"Everybody says Terra's a true hero. I can't wait till I'm that tough." Herc sighed.
"Yeah, yeah whatever."
"Be nice Phil." They junior hero said.
"So he's not here then." She frowned.
"Woah don't frown. You never know, he might show up for the games." Phil stated.
"To defend his title." Herc smiled.
"And if you enter, there's always a chance you might run into him." The Satyr raised his eyebrows.
"Really?" Harumi asked.
"I'll sign you up myself. And if you need a trainer, I'd be more than happy to train you."
"Wait a minute Phil! I had to practically beg for you to agree to train me." Herc exclaimed.
"Shhh, pipe down kid. You and she ain't got the same attributes, if ya know what I mean." The Keyblade Master heard this and shivered.
"Sign me up for the games." She said and thought, 'I need to find Terra and get out of here.' "My name is Harumi and it's really nice to meet you."
"Likewise, now let's start with a few basics…" But the red haired teen shook her head.
"Thank you, but I won't need a trainer." She said politely.
"Bah, women! They never change." She pouted and placed her hand on her hip. He turned to her and gulped. Then he started to walk away quickly. "Meet me in the vestibule when you're ready."
Later…
"All that's left now is the final. Yet still there isn't a sign of Terra at all." She said. "The guy I'm supposed to fight is someone else named Zack…"She turned around and jumped.
"Harumi, right?!" A boy asked. He had black spiky hair and bright blue eyes. "Hey, I'm Zack. Your opponent in the final. Man, finally! Once I beat you I get to take on Terra!"
"Terra? I'm confused now. Are you trying to say that there's another match after the final?" She asked clueless.
"Uh-oh. Guess you didn't get the memo." Zack mumbled. "Phil, would you tell her the rules?"
"Fine, here how it is." Phil cleared his throat. "The games are divided into 2 bracket; East and West. The winners from each bracket face off in the championship match. Right now, you are competing in the East and we got no idea about the other side. For all we know your boy Terra could be cruisin' through over in the West." He explained.
"Then I shouldn't be fighting matches here. I should be over there looking for him." Harumi said as she walked to the doors.
"No…you uh…can't! It's not allowed. Athletes are expressly forbidden from watchin' matches in the other bracket." Phil said and she stopped walking.
Herc turned to Zack with a confused look.
"Did he just make that up?" He asked.
"How should I know?" The dark haired teen shrugged.
"All right fine! Look, you gotta just stay and fight this match. The 2 athletes I entered defaulted before they made it to the top. Give a guy a break. I got a reputation to uphold." Phil said.
"Hey! Do it for us too!" Zack called out. Harumi blinked and thought for a second until she reached a decision.
"Okay, I'll finish what I started." She smiled softly.
"You will?" Phil asked with sparkling eyes. "Oh, the gods are smilin' on me today! I'll be waiting in the vestibule. Tell me when you're ready." He walked off.
"A match between Zack and Harumi? I can't miss this!" Herc stated with excitement.
"Ix-nay on the atchin'-way. You've got trainin' to complete!" Phil shouted.
"Oh that's right…Well good luck, guys. I'll see you around." The hero in training stated and left.
"Harumi…" Zack said as he walked her way.
"Yes?" She asked and looked at him.
"Give it your best out there." He smiled.
"I will and you too." She said.
"I am so fired up!"
"Zack, Terra is a…friend of mine. How exactly do you know him?" Harumi asked curiously.
Zack started to explain how Terra saved his life. During the last games, someone named Hades tried to make Terra his pawn of darkness. Hades used Zack to do it and that he had some kind of magic which made him crazy. It gave him strange powers that he turned against Terra. Then he freed Zack without using the darkness. Harumi smiled with a tear falling down her cheek.
After a while, they met in the ring.
"I promised Terra I'd face him; fair and square." Zack stated and took out his sword.
"The friendship between boys; so ironic. Yet I can never understand it." She summoned her Keyblade. "Come on, let's fight!"
They ran at each other and started to fight. Harumi noticed that he was quite strong and was extremely determined. But she wouldn't give up and defeated him.
"Ugh I lost again!" He said and looked at her. "I've got a long ways to go if I'm gonna become a hero." She smiled at him.
"You'll get there."
Suddenly there was a ball of smoke and they turned to a tall person with a blue flamed head.
"Really, it's you? Here I was to drop in to see what muscle head was next." He laughed and walked up to Harumi. "Holy Hydras, it's just a little girl, a little lassie, a little phoenix bird." She growled at this whilst gripping onto her Keyblade.
"Hades!" Zack shouted and he looked at him.
"I'm sorry, is that a mosquito? Where did I put that bug spray?" He asked with a smirk.
"MOSQUITO?!" The dark haired teen asked.
"So you're Hades?" Harumi asked through her teeth. "You used Zack and tried to cast Terra into the darkness." Zack ran to her side.
"So, I'd take it that you're acquainted with this spineless chickenheart." He said and she grinded her teeth together.
"Don't you say that about Terra! Plus I heard that he succeeded over the darkness." She stated and Hades laughed.
"Funny because I heard different. You see it was chickenheart who asked me for a little…shall we say…instruction on how to use darkness in the first place." He said.
"Never!" She shouted.
"And he was so close to doing it too, when the sap went and got cold feet!" Hades yelled and turned red but turned red again. "Now if that ain't cowardly, I don't know what is. But you my little phoenix bird. Why not flit over here and demonstrate some real courage for the winning team?"
"I have no interest in the darkness." She stated.
"Well that was rude. A 'No thank you, your godliness' might've sufficed. Fortunately, I still get to…ahem…destroy you." He smirked. "Rules say you face me next. And I have a whole lot of darkness with your name on it!" Hades shouted and disappeared.
"Get back here Hades!" Zack yelled. "Man, if only I were up against him."
Harumi stared at the ground and thought about Terra. Did he really ask Hades about the magic? She kept her hand on her stomach. 'Don't worry Hikari, I'll find daddy.'
"Harumi." She looked up and Zack placed his hands on her shoulders. "You gotta avenge me and Terra."
"I will, Zack." She said.
It was dark and Zack sat on the seats where the crowd were supposed to sit. He looked around and shivered. Harumi entered with determination on her face. She looked around and then something made her jump. There was an enormous Ice monster which roared and entered. Hades appeared in front of it.
"I never said one on one." Hades smirked.
"That's not fair!" Zack exclaimed.
"I suppose that's in the rules." Harumi glared.
"Rule no.2; Combatants may call for back-up." He stated. "Maybe you better call yours phoenix bird."
"He's already here!" Zack said.
"No. I can do this by myself with no help." Harumi stated with determination.
She ran at the Ice monster and he punched the ground which she dodged with a backflip. Harumi looked up at her foe and realised; she could use fire against it! So she used her fire magic which proved very effective.
"Light bloom!" Harumi shouted and started spinning gracefully with elegance as she fired energy shots of light towards it.
After a few minutes, the Ice Colossus disappeared and Hades growled and turned red with anger.
"I knew that snow cone wouldn't cut it. I need a real Titan. Stay tuned!" He shouted and disappeared.
The daylight returned and Zack walked with Harumi to the gates.
"Stupid Hades, next time I'll put him in his place." He said and then he turned around with a grin. "Oh yeah, you're the champ! We gotta celebrate!"
"That won't really be necessary." She said and he crossed his arms.
"Hey how 'bout one date?!" He asked with a smile and she gasped. She took a step back with pink cheeks.
"Uhhhhhh…ummmm…" She gulped and looked up at him. "I really have to leave right away, Zack. I got a lot of training to do."
"Fair enough. Since I'm still a work in progress after all." He said. "Well how 'bout this; I'll become a hero and then we go on a date?" He said and she cleared her throat.
"Ummmmmm…." She trailed off as she touched her stomach.
"Great it's settled! Hero-hood here I come!" The boy cheered optimistically. He laughed and ran off. She couldn't help but giggle to herself.
"That guy is something else." Then she got the headache again.
"How 'bout a date?" Her eyes widened and blinked. Meg giggled, Donald and Goofy snickered, Sora and Phil's faces were of utter shock and Herc smiled.
"Uhhhh…" She slurred not able to respond.
"Aw don't reject me like your sister." He whined and she giggled whilst shaking her head.
"You do know I'm a busy young woman, travelling worlds, fighting Heartless, stopping bad guys and finding my friends." She said.
"Haruka, please!" He begged and she sighed with red cheeks.
"Okay, okay! If I come here again, I'll go out on a date with you." She sighed with defeat.
"Really? Promise?!" His bright blue eyes sparkled.
"Yes, it's a promise!" Haruka said stubbornly.
"Yes!" He jumped with joy and the red haired girl shook her head at this.
Harumi smiled at this and shook her head. Looked like little Haruka was going encounter with him too. Then she heard Herc.
"It's nothing really." She smiled. "You wanna be a hero too, right?"
"Yeah, more than ever!" He exclaimed.
"You do know that strength alone is not enough." She said.
"I know, I know. I'm starting to figure that out. I look at you and Zack and I see there's so much more." He stated.
"You have strength in your heart too, Herc. Don't ever give up and someday you will become a hero after all." Harumi smiled and clasped her hands. "Terra you're my hero, but someday you'll become a strong Keyblade Master; just keep fighting."
