The Xanified man turned to the supercomputer, snapping Meya out of her shock. She ran over and swung the pipe at him, determined to hit him with it. He turned back to her and grabbed the pipe. He pulled it out of her hands. Meya took a step back.
"Can't we just talk it out?" she asked. "Come on, Xana. At least give me a reason before you kill me. Am I dying a hero?"
The man's mouth didn't open, but a voice hissed, "Of course not! I'm killing you before you can become the hero!"
"Oh..." Meya mumbled. "Well that just makes everything... WORSE!"
"That doesn't matter," the raspy voice snapped. "You die now." The man lifted his hand and electricity sparked, causing Meya to back up.
Aelita entered the tower, leaving the battle behind her. She ran to the center and began to levitate to the top. She reached the second platform and rushed to the middle where a screen appeared. She placed her hand on it and entered the code 'Lyoko'. The screen vanished and the tower deactivated.
"All right, Jeremy," she said. "The tower is deactivated." She paused and there was no response. "Jermey?"
Odd and Yumi both rose to their feet as Aelita came out of the tower. "Something is wrong," she said. "Jeremy isn't responding."
"So how do we become devirtualized?" Odd asked.
"Same way we did before," Yumi said, getting a fan ready and turning to Odd.
Aelita made an energy ball in her hands and aimed for Yumi. "Ready?"
"On three," Odd said, pointing his arrows at Aelita. "One."
"Two."
"Three."
Yumi threw her fan at Odd.
Odd shot an arrow at Aelita.
Aelita launched the energy ball at Yumi. The three instantly became devirtualized.
