A/N: Finally got this chapter finished. I hope you like it and again I am so sorry for the wait.

Thank you for your opinions on the shadowing topic. I think I know where I am going to go with that now. Though it may change. But that is not what I am worrying about now. I have a couple chapters before that becomes an issue. Anyway I always enjoy your input so continue to review! Love you all!

Rick was lying in bed the morning after his date with Kate. He hadn't been able to really sleep that well because his head was swirling after his date and the late night phone conversation they had. He was really starting to fall for her.

He knew Alexis would be in soon and he wanted to make breakfast for them. She had been so good lately with all the signings, she has been staying with his mother a lot but she has been so good. He wanted to make her something special. She loved chocolate chip pancakes so he would make sure he made them for her.

But for now, while she was sleeping, he could lie in bed and think about Kate.

He wasn't sure how long he was laying there but he heard movement in the house. He heard tiny footsteps on the stairs which meant Alexis was heading straight for his room. He heard the door open all a crack and saw her red hair heading for the bed.

He closed his eyes and pretended to be asleep as she climbed up. She was just about to climb on his chest to wake him up, when he jumped up and grabbed her into his arms.

"Ahhhhh" he yelled as he grabbed her and pulled her to his t-shirt clad chest.

"Daddy" she giggle as she tried to get away but he just held her tighter.

"What's the magic word?" he asked as he held his flailing daughter.

"Please daddy, let me go." She giggled.

"Okay." He let her go and she scrambled off him and then jumped on his chest.

"Thank you, daddy." She said as she leaned forward and kissed his cheek.

"Anytime, pumpkin. What would you like for breakfast; you can have anything you want."

"Uhhm can I have pancakes? Oh chocolate chip pancakes?" she exclaimed as she bounced on her father's chest.

"Of course we can anything you want." He said as he held her close and started to get up. He stood up and made sure she was secure on his hip as he made his way out of the room and into the kitchen.

"So pumpkin, what would you like to do today? I'm all yours for the whole day."0

"Can we go to the park today daddy?" She asked as she climbed up onto one of the stools in the kitchen.

"Of course we can, like I said today is all about what you want to do. I know I haven't been able to spend too much time with you lately but I want to make it up to you. Hopefully the book signings with be less frequent in the next couple weeks." He said as he mixed the batter for the pancakes. And began to cook them.

"Its okay daddy, I know you have to work. But maybe after the park we can play laser tag? Oh and maybe we can color and do that puzzle I gots last week?" She excitedly asked.

"Of course we can. Do you want anything else with these pancakes?" he asked as he plate both his and her pancakes and moved to sit next to her at the island.

"Nope daddy this is good."

They ate and talked about the day ahead of them and as castle was making a cup of coffee to bring with him to the park he had an idea. He called up his favorite coffee place that he knew delivered and ordered a coffee and bear claw to be delivered to someone special. He knew it would make her smile. Hopefully it got there in time.

Rick and Alexis walked out of the loft to begin their day of fun together. He couldn't help but think about that beautiful brown haired detective. To say he was excited about the date was an understatement. But for now he was going to focus on his daughter who was talking excitedly and giggling next to him.

A/N- I know that this is short BUT I have another chapter done and it will be posted in a little while. I wanted to do one of Castles morning and one of Kate's mornings but I didn't want to put them in the same chapter because I want to keep up with the one chapter his POV and one hers.

I hope you liked this chapter and I hope that you are still reading. I hope to rock out a couple of chapters so that I have them stored sp that I do have to make you all wait for a new chapter.
