A/N: For time clarification, it has been a week since the falling out with Xavier. It has been six months since the story began. I hope that clears everything up.
I was thinking I wasn't going to let my father die.
Clark looked up from Alicia's face, and saw the same shock that he felt present in the eyes of Jean and Emma, showing that they too had heard the young woman's words. A million questions rang through the Last Son of Krypton's mind, not the least of which was how the hell did he have a daughter. However, he knew that now wasn't the time for questions because if he didn't do something Alicia was going to die. Hearing her breathing growing more and more labored with each passing second Clark knew there was only one way to save her; he only hoped that it would work. He picked Alicia up in his arms and bent his knees before jumping into the air. Any other time Clark would have been amazed that he was flying, but now he didn't care. All that mattered was saving Alicia. He willed himself to go faster, flying into the sun, and pulling the kryptonite knife from Alicia's stomach, throwing it into the depths of the sun.
"Come on, come on, don't die on me." He said, straining to hear a heartbeat.
"Uh..."
He heard the faint moan and smiled, racing back to the farm with his daughter still cradled in his arms.
"Clark is she-"
"I'm fine Mom." She told Emma as Clark set her on her feet.
"Easy Alicia, you just took a kryptonite knife in your stomach so just take it easy." Clark told her but she only rolled her eyes and walked over to where Bishop was currently being held in place by Jean, who was using her telekinetic powers to keep him frozen against the wall. Without a word Alicia pulled back her fist and punched Bishop in the face. Clark winced as he heard the man's jaw break from the force of her blow while Emma just laughed.
"That's a hell of a right hook you've got there." Jonathan told her, and she just laughed in response.
"I guess it runs in the family." She said with a grin towards Clark, who smiled in return. She walked back over to Bishop and pressed a button on a watch he had on his wrist. He shimmered for a minute before he disappeared.
"What did you do to him?" Jean asked.
"I sent him back to his own time. I think he'll find that things are a lot brighter than when he left."
"So are you heading back now or do you feel like sticking around for awhile?" Clark asked, and she smiled for an instant before her smile disappeared.
"I'd like to stay...there's nothing left for me there now."
"What aren't you telling us Alicia?" Jean asked as they all sat down again.
"Because of what happened to cause the future to become so bleak, millions died...including my brother. We found out that Bishop was going to come back to the past to try to kill you, and we went to stop him. We found him just as he opened the rift through time and the three of us ended up fighting. Jonathan took the kryptonite bullet that was meant for me. He gave me time to escape, let me get a minor head start on Bishop, but he died. Your son Jean, my best friend... he died right in front of me. There was nothing that I could do." She sobbed, and buried her head in Clark's chest sobbing on his shirt.
"It's alright Alicia. Sweetheart, it's alright." Emma told her, the words somehow coming natural to the young telepath as she embraced her daughter. She felt Clark's arms wrap around them both and Jean followed suit, Martha and Jonathan following after and soon the six of them were in a group hug that was only broken when Alicia stopped sobbing. A few minutes later after everyone was once again seated around the room, Clark locked eyes with Alicia a serious expression on his face.
"Alicia, I need to know... was Bishop telling the truth? Did I become a monster? Did I round up mutants for sport and kill millions of people?"
"Dad..."
"Alicia, I need to know."
"Yes, you became the world's ruler. You thought it was the only way after... after what happened."
"Alicia..."
"Mom and Jean were killed by a man named Shaw. He was trying to get an army of mutants to rule the human race. You, and the X-men stopped him but when Jean and Mom died you just snapped. You killed Shaw and took over his army. Within weeks the world was at your feet."
"No." Clark whispered, head in his hands as he thought of what he had done, or rather would do.
"Clark, that's not going to happen this time. Neither one of us are going to die." Jean told him, placing a hand on his arm, Emma doing likewise.
"Now that we know what my former associate has planned we should be able to stop him before he gets his army." Emma said, and Clark nodded, looking both of them in the eye.
"What exactly is your history with Shaw anyway?" He asked, and she scowled for a moment before she answered.
"Three years ago I met Sebastian Shaw. He offered me an invitation to join his hellfire club, told me it was a way to ensure that mutants weren't killed by the humans. I accepted and he named me his White Queen. There were six of us including Shaw and myself, but in reality Shaw and I held all the power. Looking back at it I think he gave me the position just to get me into his bed more than anything else but back then I enjoyed the power so I didn't question it. We spent two years battling the X-men and the humans, even occasionally helping Magneto and his brotherhood. It became less and less about mutant survival and more about mutant supremacy. Eventually the remaining members got sick of never really accomplishing anything and we all parted ways. However, knowing Shaw he's going to start it up again, and soon. I'm surprised he's let me go a year without trying to contact me."
Clark sensed there was more to the group's parting then Emma was telling him, but he decided not to press it at least for now.
"If and when he does, we deal with him together."
"Clark, I'm not letting you get involved with that sociopath!"
"Emma, I'm more than capable of handling myself as you should know. However, I think if we're going to stop him, we have to do it from inside his organization. Just attacking him without knowing anything about what sort of numbers or powers he has at his command would be suicide."
"How do you suppose we do that?"
"When Shaw contacts you, you go willingly and you bring me as a show of good faith. Something tells me Shaw won't be able to resist having someone with my power at his disposal."
"Dad no!"
"Son have you lost your mind!"
"Clark!"
Clark held up a hand for silence as he looked around the room, looking every single person in the eye.
"I know what I'm doing. Shaw would find out about me eventually so all I'm doing is making sure this happens on my terms. Besides, there's no way I'm letting you go meet with that maniac on your own Emma. Oh and before you try to tell me otherwise I wasn't asking for your permission." He told her and she glared for a minute before she smiled.
"Alright, but I have to warn you that I'm going to act like a bit of a bitch."
"So your normal charming self than." Jean said jokingly, and everyone laughed while Emma shot Jean a mock-glare.
"That's fine. Trust me I can be a bit of an ass myself."
"Clark, you're not actually going to do what I think you are son?" His mother asked, and he nodded.
"When I have to."
"What are you talking about Clark?" Jean asked, and he laughed darkly before he answered.
"Let me show you." He replied, and they nodded before gently probing his mind. He brought forth his memories of his time on red k, including everything that happened in Metropolis and his time in Vegas with Alicia, even though that was still painful to think about.
"Thank you for sharing this with us Clark." Emma said and he nodded, feeling as if some of the pain from the death of his first love was gone after he shared his love for her with three important people in his life. Even though he had only met Alicia a couple of hours ago he already felt as though she was his daughter and he swore he would protect her and his girlfriends no matter what.
"Alicia, what were you talking about earlier? When you first came in you said you had to warn me and then you mentioned Phoenix and Zod." Clark asked and Alicia nodded before she spoke.
"Jean called herself the Phoenix from what I understand, and Zod well, Zod's an old friend."
"Phoenix. I like it." Jean said with a smile, and Clark nodded, but he was more focused on what Alicia said about Zod.
"The Zod I mentioned is Lor-Zod, the son of Dru-Zod who was the man responsible for Krypton's destruction. He escaped somehow, and long story short, I ended up falling in love with him. Right before we went to stop Bishop my brother and I convinced him to go into the Phantom Zone. It was a prison built by Grandpa Jor-El and it contains the worst criminals from the twenty-eight known galaxies. I didn't wast Lor to die so I convinced him to go into the zone, promising that I would get him out when I could. I knew he could survive and Jor-El's assistant Raya is in there too so she could help him."
Clark's mind was reeling at all the information he had just gotten. On one hand he was furious that his daughter was dating the son of the man responsible for Krypton's destruction, but on the other hand he knew that he was the last person that should be judging someone based on their parents actions, given what had happened between him and Jor-El when he ran off to Metropolis.
"Alicia, I promise you that as soon as we can, we will go and get both of them out of there."
"Yes we will, but now we need to go and introduce you to your new students Clark."
Emma laughed as she saw the shocked expression on her boyfriend's face.
"Clark, you have more control over your powers than almost any of the X-men and you haven't had any real schooling. That alone makes you more than qualified to teach these kids and besides, I don't think many people would approve of the new headmistress being involved with a student." She finished, causing everyone to chuckle slightly.
"Mr. and Mrs. Kent, you are of course more than welcome to come whenever you would like." She told them and they nodded their thanks, making plans to stop by over the weekend.
Clark picked up Jean and Emma and he jumped into the air flying towards California, Alicia running on the ground below them. He wondered why she wasn't flying but then he remembered that she was only half kryptonian and figured that that must have something to do with it. In a matter of moments the four of them landed outside of a manor that resembled the Xavier mansion except for a few key details. There was no Cerebro and Clark and Logan had spent three days it's defenses, making it so that even they would have a hard time getting past them.
"They should all be in the training area." Emma said and the four of them walked inside before taking an elevator down to the basement level where they found the former X-men and several new recruits assembled in what Logan called the Danger Room 2.0.
"Hello everyone and welcome to The School For the Gifted. My name is Emma Frost for those of you who don't know me, and I am your headmistress. You have already met Mr. Logan and Ms. Monroe, but now let me introduce you to Miss Grey and Mr. Kent. They shall be your other professors."
"No way! Kent's here!"
"Clark?"
"You forgot to tell me that some of these recruits were from Smallville Emma." He told her, seeing several people he knew, among them Chloe and Lana, who were both looking at him in shock. However, before Lana could respond he saw the last person he expected to see.
"YOU!"
A/N: So Clark's a professor now and his students include residents of Smallville! How are Lana and Chloe going to react to seeing Clark again and who is the last person Clark thought he would see?
